Salty's beach house Review

Service was great, food was good, view of the lake is amazing. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the price. Can't complain about anything else.

I was in Penticton for the weekend and went here twice because it is so great! Beautiful views onto the lake, reasonably priced delicious food and great service. I had the chorizo flatbread for happy hour on the first night and the Crab Cakes and Sirloin Steak on the second night, all of it was fantastic! I look forward to getting back there this summer.

A must do in Penticton. The bar staff is really friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I had was it seemed a bit more "chain" than a one off this time. I understand it was sold to the Earls group. I hope they revert back to some of the local charm rather than trying to make it an Earls with a seafood menu. The food was good.

A group of 6 of us went for dinner last night Aug 31st. The food was good and our server was fantastic but one of the hostesses was incredibly rude. We had waited 40minutes for a table and we got seated next to the bathroom when there were 4 tables open and clean outside. When I asked if there was any way we could move to a table outside I was spoken to so rudely by a hostess. I was shocked. I understand with COVID there is more cleaning required but there is no need to be rude. We ended up waiting again for 20 minutes and we were seated at one of the 4 tables that had been open the whole time. I worked in the service industry for more than 10 years and I would never allow my staff to speak to customers like that. Hostess with the red mask and long brown hair.

Best bar/Restaurant in Town. The waiters are doing a great Job, the food is awesome and the Location is a blast.

This was the place a local suggested and it's super packed! Try to call half an hour ahead for seating availability. The view on the patio is amazing and the food was great. The service was also really good. Would recommend this place for anyone that comes to Penticton.

Guess I'll see if I will get a call back tonight as I had to leave a message after calling twice to make a reservation for lunch tomorrow. How can no one answer a phone in a business these days?

Gone here for the last 2 years on my bday. Fun place good food. Only complaint is the theme seems to be an ocean beachouse which seems risky when the closest ocean is over 200 km away.

Great atmosphere. Lots of seafood "themed" food. Not to bet mistaken with a seafood restaurant. Best restaurant on the beach strip!

I ordered the fisherman's pot for take out and picked it up at the appointed time. One flavor note for the broth. Lemongrass and lime. The shrimp were so overcooked that they were gritty. 5 clams and 3 mussels (all overcooked). There might have been some small scallops that were the consistency of erasers. The only reason I gave it one star was the staff were pleasant. I'm very disappointed in this local restaurant.

Ate here while on vacation, WOW is all I can say, an amazing view, live music down the street, even asked the waitress to turn down their music so we could hear the street music better and they did! such a great experience for a vacation!

nothing special...fish tacos were good...service was ok...but the servers stood around downstairs and gossiped too much...very annoying...and upstairs bar tender guy was "whacking" the lemons/limes with some apparatus that makes a horrific loud noise...not impressed !!

FANTASTIC! Our server was extremely pleasant and VERY knowledgable. The Fisherman's Pot, Calamari, Muscles and Ahi Tuna Salada were delicious! The view from the balcony is perfect for a date! I highly recommend that you try this place out if your within 100km of the Okanagon!

Nice location, fast service, the baha breeze pizza was fantastic and our server was really personable. Prices were reasonable.

Delicious and awesome atmosphere. Even with how busy it was when we were there, we had great and prompt service.

I went with a good friend to dine out at Salty's for the evening. The staff handled the COVID-19 restrictions impeccably and were nice and patient the whole time. Let me tell you, the mahi-mahi dinner was one of the best dishes I ever had in my entire life. It was excellent. My friend really enjoyed his burger. A cool Italian waitress (I forgot her name) served us and she was funny and friendly the whole time. The experience overall was terrific.

If you like Earl's, you'll like Salty's. Good food, but the new(ish) menu layout is a bit overwhelming to look at.

The location of this place is second to none, but that's no excuse to let your restaurant become this dirty... we seen 8 spiders in webs right around our table, layers of dust and dirt on the railings and the table slots filled with food and grim. Shame on the owners and management for letting it get this bad.

I had the chicken tacos with a side of ceaser salad. Our waitress was incredibly nice, thank you Michelle!!! Tacos were awesome, but the salad was pretty terrible though, barely any dressing and what was there tasted watery and weird. Michelle replaced it with fries, thanks! Everything else was good. However at one point there was 8 staff not doing anything at the entrance, one was on her phone. Odd. Overall, food was ok, service was really good.

For the high number of staff on premises they managed to avoid acknowledging us for a lengthy time. Server did not explain a price difference between 2 oysters for the buck a shuck special and was unapologetic when we questioned the bill. Shrugged his shoulders and said thats what it is. Also didn't ask why we left 3 oysters uneaten on the plate (they were not apetising)

Loved this place . We sat at the bar and had Luke as our mixologist. (Server) He was so awesome ! Super fun guy you can tell he loves his job and knows how to make customers happy . He made a new York old fashioned with a float of red wine ! Unreal . When we were tired of ordering drinks off the menu he would just me something for us , according to if we wanted sweet , sour , girly or salty . Lighting our flaming shots on fire like a pro . He really our night and we definantly be back . Keep up the good work Luke !

We make a point of going to salty's everytime we're in penticton. The food and service is very good with every visit. Had the steak and prawns, the sauce is exceptional. My wife had the pistachio mahi mahi and it was worth it.

Great atmosphere and location. Food is generally prepared well but portion seems a bit small with the jerk chicken I had. Also my chicken wings were still raw and am surprised and disappointed that the host said it is cooked and only blood on the bone. Was surprised to get some disagreement there as everyone at our table saw it and was shocked and said it was raw. It was sent back and then I get the wings back including the one that I took a bite out of therefore they threw my eaten wings in the fryer and re-seasoned again which made it extra salty and me extra thirsty. I will not come again as there are better restaurants, but I'm sure this isn't representative of every day experience.

I would give it 3.5 because the food was good but the service was lacking. It was over 30min with no one coming back to the table to check on us. We would have ordered more but decided to just go home after having to flag someone down just to get the bill.

Good food but the service was poor. Several items where forgotten, an error was made in the bill. Food did arrive quickly though!

Iconic restaurant with good food and a fun atmosphere and a great view!

The atmosphere and service were great...love the location across from the lake!!!! The burger was amazing...great tasting and lots of it!! My husband is from Wales so he's always on the lookout for a good fish n chips...we didn't find it there...sadly!!

A group of us went out on Thursday evening and we had the best evening I have had in a long time! We had a new waiter, ?Tanner? who had us in stitches the entire night. While his waiting skills had yet to be polished, he by far made up for that with his engaging personality! His ability to laugh with us and at himself for his inability to multi-task as yet had us laughing all the next day as we frequently recouped the evening. I really recommend an evening there and be sure to ask to be seated in "the new guy's" section. Don't be in a hurry, enjoy the show. Oh yeah, the food was good too...

If you go in this place and order their Reeses peanut butter and ice cream pie and don't forget that black coffee. Then just enjoy. What are You waiting for.... do it! I did and loved it.

Love this restaurant in Penticton. The seafood and drinks are delicious! The location is perfectly looking at the beach and lake Okanagan. The upstairs has a very unique pirate decor. Highly recommend this place!

In a word. AWESOME. My wife and I periodically drive from West Kelowna to eat there.

Last year and a half gone down hill , food mediocre service about the same nothing but a trendy place to go if u like to follow that type of crowd

Our waitress literally messed up everything we ordered. But the food was good and the view os amazing

We waited 40+ minutes for our drinks, that's not including water. I ordered the lettuce wraps - they were not good. The employees were exceptionally nice, but all very new. All the food was delivered - no cutlery. And my sisters food wasnt even put in... so she got her food way after we did. The manager however took care of us and she was extremely sorry for our experience.

There's only 3 restaurants on that street, so of you are in town for longer than 3 days, you will be eating there.

ALWAYS PACKED... call ahead and get your name on the wait list. Pretty good menu options. Fantastic location. Fairly fast service even when packed.

Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere. My wife and I loved it and were lucky enough to be there on Margarita night. We both recounted it as one of our favourite times on the trip.
We only split an appetizer so can't speak much to the food except to say that one dish was tasty though perhaps pricey. The $5 margaritas made up for it.

I took a friend to Salty's today. Simple order of a chicken salad and one of their signature burgers with salad on the side.

Our server Emily was very charming as was her server assistant in training.
My burger was outstanding. With the Salad I think was about $ 23 bucks (wow when did that happen)? I guess that is the reality of the world we live in. Nonetheless I thought it was WORTH IT! We sat on the patio and it was pleasant I felt proper Covid Safety Protocols are in place given we are in the midst of a world wide pandemic.

There was a problem with my friends food. She asked for no cilantro and unfortunately it came with cilantro. This is the part that separates good restaurants from poor. Our server immediately apologized with no excuses and offered to make it right but my friend lost her appetite. She removed the item and offered a complimentary delicious dessert. So the service recovery was outstanding. I will return and recommend this place.

Now: to those people who have chosen to leave one star negative reviews for an iconic restaurant like Salty's I would suggest to them to follow Dr. Bonnie Henry's advice. "Be Kind be safe." Those reviews are petty, useless and uncalled for. They are however entertaining!

The restaurant is on the strip across from the lake. If you can try to get a seat on rooftop patio. Beautiful view is totally worth it. The food was great. I ordered the Poke bowl..cant go wrong. The service was outstanding our server Michelle was great!
Prices are reasonable and I will definitely be coming back again. Make sure during peak times you have a reservation.

Booked two tables, two months in advance to be able to have outside seating. When we arrived we were told they could not accommodate that when we arrived. Sat inside by kitchen. Server did not come around very often. No offers for water refills, no offers for a new drink, had to flag down server to order. Only positive out of the entire experience was that Food was AMAZING!
