Great place. First time having dill in my clam chowder and it's delicious.
Great place. First time having dill in my clam chowder and it's delicious.
Different but very good chowder. Wasn't sure how I was going to feel with all that dill but it works. Lobster Roll is legit. Better than a $30 one I had just minutes ago up in a fancy oyster house. This once lobster meat felt and tasted better.
an intuition just passing by this restaurant anime and frequented by Boston. a nice map at reasonable prices, a dynamic and attentive service, and finally the best seafood in good quantity. Far from the many restaurants of the Quincy market or crowded thousands of tourists little demanding.
Had lunch there and the food and service was second to none!
Such a great place to go! Lobster Mac & Cheese is delicious & super filling! Be prepared for left overs. Photo doesn't do it the justice bit deserves. It is loaded with lobster & cheesy goognezz. Staff is so Friendly. Brittany was delightful to chat with & she had great recommendations for local go to's.
Walked by here many times. Finally decided to walk through the door. Beautiful. Lotsa wood, which I like, bar chairs, tables, inches from the waterfront. Loving it .
A Boston staple, and great watering hole. A mix of old North Enders, actual sailors, tourists, and yuppie 22 year olds.
The food was just amazing. The venue was fantastic, and the server was a class act despite the extreme busy-ness.
Best Chowdah in town and the fish n chips are great too. The waiters have always been great about splitting the bill and handle large groups with ease. For anyone looking for the perfect place to take friends visiting Boston, this is it! On the water but casual, you really can't go wrong!
The best clam chowder in Boston! Great location and service too.
This spot is worth a visit. They have large portions for convenient rates. Consistently neat and with awesome atmosphere. Will come back again.
Our first try of Clam Chowder and we loved it! Great customer service and beautiful, cozy location.
Best sea food in Boston. Get the clam chowder and cajun popcorn shrimp and you won't be disappointed.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Top notch.
A hidden gem, consistent since I started eating there in the early 1990's. Great bar in front for after work crowd (a distant memory with two little girls in tow).
Food is first rate, always fresh and generous portions. Staff could not do enough for the customers. Accommodated my 5 yer old on her birthday with candle and cake, even when packed to the brim with customers. Fried, broiled, baked, and every other way the food is cooked to perfection. They are an institution bordering the North End because they serve good food at reasonable prices with pride and fantastic service. The owner in personally involved, scouring the restaurant to make sure even the pickiest tourist is satisfied with their meal. Keep the food and atmosphere the same and we will be come back again and again
The wife and I had a self directed chowder tour of Boston over the weekend and sail loft was the best!
Best chowder in the city, they add a lot of Dill which makes it great
Food was delicious! Waitstaff were pleasant and very responsive. Will definitely come back.
Probably the most disgusting meal I ve ever had. It s in the touristy wharf area and we should have known that it would serve low quality food, but I didn t think it would serve such a disgusting meal. We went there for lunch and I ordered the seafood pasta dish. I think it was call Diablo Pasta or something like that. The menu description sounded great a spicy tomato sauce with pasta served with mussels, shrimp, scallops & half lobster. When the waitress brought out my dish, I couldn t wait to dig in. After a few bites, I noticed a hair in my meal, and then other, and then another! Three hairs! Gross! I can understand how one can fall in, but three! We showed this to the waitress, who was apologetic, and she brought this to the manager s attention. The waitress asked me if I would like for them to prepare me another plate. I said that would be fine, even though by now my husband and finished his meal. Awhile later, the second attempt was brought out and wouldn t you know it, still hairs in it! This time four hairs! We got the waitress again and again she brought it to the manager s attention. All we saw was the manager storming into the kitchen with the dish. She never bothered to come by our table to apologize for such disgusting food. My stomach felt queasy all day. I m surprised I didn t come down with food poisoning.
Stay away from this god awful, filthy place.
Hubby said seafood was great. Burgers not so much. Buffalo chicken awesome
Had the clam chowder and it was so thick it was like greek yogurt with tiny chunks. The seafood pasta was just soaking in thick sauce at the bottom and became kind of soggy.
Best clam chowder in Boston. Very helpful bartender with local beer.
Very busy restaurant which we had been recommended to go to by our son who visits Boston regularly. We had been disappointed in our whale watching trip, having to turn back halfway because of rough seas, so treated ourselves to lobster at the Sail Loft. It was very good and there was plenty of lobster! Although it was busy the staff were chatty and friendly and the service was prompt. A good venue!
The service is amazing, along with the food. I love the location and my husband always gets the chowder. My go-to are their hearty entree salads. The staff is welcoming and the owner lends personal attention; I had my birthday there and he came over and poured the champagne himself. There is a family atmosphere as he also employs his adult children. Go-you won't be disappointed!
Excellent food for acceptable price. Very helpful and kind service, great atmosphere with a unique maritime style. Definitely recommended!
An amazing place to eat on the waterfront with a great staff run by a great family you can't go wrong with with what ever you order. My dad the scallops or fish n chips
Their lobster bisque is to die for!!! Their food is great!
Excellent lobster mac and cheese, huge cup o' clam chowder and awesome local atmosphere. Our first stop in Boston and a great place to eat and relax on the water.
My brother in law wanted Boston seafood but we didn't. This place was fantastic for all of us! He got some excellent clam chowder and lobster Mac n cheese and we got some excellent non sea food. Staff was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere was excellent. If you're ever in Boston definitely check it out!
This place has the best Lobster Mac and Cheese and Clam Chowder! Everything was delicious! And the Calamari !
Coming in 4 years best place in the Boston area prices are real reasonable
Went here with a group of friends a shared a lot. I don't remember the names of many of the dishes but the clams with the white sauce was very delicious. The sauce was tasty and I enjoyed dipping my bread in there. Everything else was good, about average. The clam chowder is fairly thick, but it was not bad, just different. I would go again and try some of their other dishes
A bar on the water with a good atmosphere and good drinks.
This place also serves the best clam chowder in the area! If you are visiting the area, or near are near the New England Aquarium, I highly suggest stopping by and trying it out!
Fish and chips were spot on. The shrimp cocktail was local fresh and amazing. Service was friendly atmosphere was local relaxed and perfect. The view overlooks the wharf.
The clam chowder is seriously some of the best I have ever had. it is thick and goopy and has some excellent "chunkage" - One cup of chowder is almost a meal. a Great place to grab a beer and a chowdah!!
Great place for a perfect bowl of clam chowder while overlooking the water! I've returned here many times.
Large portions good service. Clam chowder not as good as reviews suggest. Too thick and WAY too much dill.
Off the tourist trap well worth the 25 dollar price tag (I think) lobster roll. We when back twice. Local place a little pricey but so is every other place down by the docks.
Great restaurant. Not expensive. Everything is delicious. The service is excellent. There is a children's menu. If you sit inside - a good view from the window.
If you get lucky (or call ahead to reserve ) and get a window seat you'll have and absolutely fantastic view of a small part of the harbour. Service was fast and friendly. Food was excellent (have the fish & chips), although maybe a bit overpriced.
Food was fresh & delicious. Lobster was good but the nachos were awesome! Great service, too.
Great food, view & staff! I d highly recommend the steamed muscles
I have always found the Loft to have excellent food at a very reasonable price for fresh seafood in Boston!
We ordered a lobster and a lobster roll during a dinner there. The lobster was fresh and very delicious and the lobster roll was just jam-packed with lobster meat and incredibly tasty! And the service was good and prices were very reasonable for the quality.
Lovely place, good service. They serve nice chowder.
Was in Boston for 3 days and went to a few different places to eat. Boston sail loft was hands down the best food and atmosphere out of all the places. Absolutely recommend!
Best clam chowder in Boston. Restaurant is small and cramped but the food is worth it.
The food was amazing, the service was impeccable. Thank you for making my father's day great!
Always try to hit the Sail Loft when we are visiting Boston, always great food. Outstanding lobster specials and reasonable prices in a casual atmosphere.
Excellent clam chowder! Even better was our server, Hope!! Fabulous service combined with delicious food!
One of the best fried fish sandwiches I have ever eaten. Lightly breaded and very fresh!
Amazing experience. Lobster Mac and Cheese was delishioso! Great service too!
Our food was great. The service was friendly and attentive. But don't trust Google when it estimates how busy they are. "Not that busy" was a 30-45 minutes wait. Do yourself a favor, call ahead to make a reservation and go visit.
Also, they have Texas style chili on the menu. It has beans, thus it is not chili. (As a Texan, I didn't try it on principal and to not forsake the family's honor.)
But seriously, give this restaurant a shot.
Nice and friendly people and Great food, lots of food.
Really great. Food was good. Chowder awesome. The bartender was really cool, I enjoyed the service.
I agree with all the five . Place is incredible. I had the mussels and fried clams(their specialty) VERY GOOD.
