Lots of heat and vermin all over the place. Love it.
Lots of heat and vermin all over the place. Love it.
Stunning landscapes unlike anything this Midwestern girl had ever seen!
If you love the solitude and peace of the desert this is the place for you. Majestic saguaro, flowering cacti, and other nature flourish here. Have a hike, enjoy the views and find yourself!
Worth the drive. As many National Parks are. This one is special. The views are very special. Pullouts are numerous. The Park has two parts East and West. We visited the West unit.
The Visitors Center was well staffed. Very informative staff. Bathrooms are well lighted and clean.
It was beautiful! We actually saw 2 coyotes and a rock squirrel!
Absolutely love hiking this park. Wish I still had my horses. Trails are well marked and maps are provided. We've run across a lot of people who hike it unprepared. Make sure you bring plenty of water. Gorgeous views.
Gorgeous! We drove the rolling paved road and got out often to take pictures and decided to take a short hike. Wow it was a lot longer and way hotter than we expected. So no matter what take LOTS of water in a backpack. We hope to return again some day.
If you're in the area, it's a must to take your time and see the wonders of nature. These gigantic cacti are unique in the world and when you stand next to them you know it's true.
At night or at dusk, I would be more careful, because there are many animals and with some is not to joke. During the day they crawl, but then the natural hunt begins. I was very careful to pay attention to where I go and listened to rattlesnakes. Not necessarily one should let his children run free.
Important is a lot of water and sunscreen, otherwise you go there. There were currently only 92F but it is an incredible heat when you run around there.
It's a really beautiful nature and I'm glad that it stays that well. The museum is good if you visit it before to get some more information.
Sad to see how many of these beautiful cacti have been killed, removed and habitat (nurse trees) destroyed within just the last 100 years. Even now, the area looks like something right out of a 50s western film or from a Looney Tunes coyote roadrunner episode. Definitely a must see if you're anywhere within 6 hours.
Beautiful park and so many saguaro cacti. The views are amazing and it's fun driving the beautiful scenic drive. Can't wait to go back top hike the trails.
Definitely not in the top tier of natural beauty when it comes to national parks. There is a good loop drive though that allows you opportunities to hike, and a nice visitors center. But not a ton of difference between what you see driving around Tucson, and what you get inside the park.
Had a really nice visit of this park. We could see so much right from our car. The visitors center is really nice and staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people. We finished the day with the gravel road loop which was really neat. Don't miss doing up the Gates Pass which has great views and some nice trails
Amazing! Much better than I expected. Definitely a must see if you're in the Tuscon area.
Saguaro National Park is quite the experience. The park is a good chance to see, hear and feel the desert experience. There is something for everyone here, picnic area, hiking trails, drive able and walkable loop roads, souvenirs, and an abundance of Saguaro and other cacti. The views are amazing. I m more partial to the East site, but the West side is good as well. Just make sure you bring some water with you to stay hydrated.
Great place to go and enjoy an awesome walk through the desert. Superb views of Tucson.
For years I had been dreaming of visiting this wonderful place that even more marvels live
Challenging bike ride. We did a 10 mile loop in the park with some very steep grades of 8% or more. The scenery of cacti is lovely. The cars were respectful about sharing the road so we felt safe biking here. I'm pretty sure some cars were here to giggle about our struggles up the steep grades. Okay, maybe not.
We used our Senior Passes for free entry. Nice restrooms, nice viewpoints to pull off and take a breather.
This park is simply amazing! I have never seen such an array of Cactus!! Definetly worth the stop! The movie at the visitors center is a must see also!
Beautiful desert scenery - city of Tuscon is always in view
Didn't know cactus could get that huge. Also saw a tarantula
Very nice place to visit.l wish there was camping there.
This park is one of the world's most beautiful places for me. Only those who were really here will understand why. A dreamlike landscape, the tranquility and hopefully eternally untouched piece of earth. No less interesting, I find the diverse wildlife that lives here in the Sonoran Desert. Since I love rattlesnakes, lizards and turtles, I always get my money's worth. And do not worry, the lovely rattlesnakes really bite only when they can not escape or get trapped, otherwise they have more ski ... than patriotism.
Awesome drive and views, great way to see the cactus and desert.
Did not really feel like it was worth the trip or the $20 to get in. We thought we saw a lot more saguaros elsewhere
Great place to see and understand the Sonoran Desert.
What a beautiful place! Awesome hiking, picnicking,, photography opportunities,..so much in one place!! Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, proper clothing are a must. But that's just my suggestion . Enjoy your hike or picnic!!
Gorgeous park with ancient cacti, wildflowers in March, and a good chance you will see coyotes, rattlesnakes and many birds. Best to bring water and picnic or snacks. Many opportunities to hike and just drive around. Best to wear sturdy shoes. Not good for flip flops or open shoes. Excellent Park.
Wasson Peak from Camino del Cerro trailhead in late March, the wildflowers were... wild! Locked my bike to a fence. #BikeRacksAtTrailheads. Other paths for other days, will come back.
Really excellent, wonderfull, a dream... really recommendable...
It's always so beautiful! This is not what the average person thinks what the desert looks like.
We love getting out and exploring this place. Great views and something new to discover every time we are here!
Great hiking trails, could be better marked. Bring a map and lots of water.
We love this place. So accessible, yet so many opportunities to get away from everything here.
We love this park! We went for a short hike to see the old kilns. The brittle bushes are blooming, and added their beautiful yellow flowers against the mountains! Beautiful!
Lovely. Fantastic hike and awesome museum! Totally recommended!
A great place to visit in the spring. Wildflowers into cactus in bloom just coat the desert floor with color. Park rangers are very nice and knowledgeable. I will be back to visit this park. Take your time enjoy and walk around.
A peaceful area. Lots of beautiful scenery. Can be a bit windy, yet very pleasant.
Very peaceful, quite, and the views are excellent!!!!
Wonderful hiking from Saguaro lowlands to higher grasslands to forested peaks. Just bring plenty of water if it is hot. Good visitor center exhibits and gift shop. At its best early and late in the day.
Beautiful bloom with interest cactus! Many interesting plants and expansive landscapes.
Wonderful place. Educational, beautiful and peaceful. Great picnic and hiking areas.
Gorgeous scenery. Make sure to check out Bajada scenic route if you are in the west side of the park
Beautiful place to watch the sunrise/sunset or to go star gazing.
Beautiful drive through the loop. We got down so many times to take pictures and walk the paths. The first picnic area has a paved path that seemed wheelchair accessible. Saw beautiful birds, flowers, lizards, squirrels and butterflies!
Beautiful scenery and hiking trails. Be sure to watch the intro video at the visitor center.
I found Sus For Guys and Girls and Tables in the Middle of the Desert. Also, I died, but I woke up in my apartment parking lot, so it wasn't too inconvenient. Also, the shamans are very friendly.
It's a different kind of amazingly cool place....in a hot way...:)
Be aware that the loop drive is a very poorly maintained dirt road with lots of potholes and wash board.
we had not been in the park but along the way to Tucson we saw so many cactus
Like most national parks, this was was just as awesome. While driving to the national park these crazy big, cool looking cactuses appear out of nowhere. The park has a visitor center with info on the park and a unpaved drive to show off all it s beauty. The loop is not recommended for oversized vehicles but we took a 25 ft class c without much problem.
Great scenery and gives you a perspective about Nature from the Native American's side.
Both east and west parks are great but east side Park has the best views and largest saguaro cacti
Beautiful to see so many cactus in this area, it is a green desert that is brought to life by cactus, plants, and shrubs.
Nice loop to take out of town guest for some good views of the beautiful desert landscape.
Nice place to walk in the dessert, hike up the Rincon Mt ridge, or run/ride around the paved loop.
The park is in two separate parts, one on the east side of Tucson add the other on the east side. The west side is the part with the most Saguaro cactus. And is the main part of the park. The east side is mostly wilderness. If you are looking to backpack the east side is where you want to go. There are no campgrounds in either portion of the park. There is only backcountry camping (backpacking). There are some areas of BLM around Tucson that camping is allowed. There are also some county parks for rv and car tent camping.
