We had a great experience. Russell greeted us as we arrived for our reservation. The staff was very courteous and attentive. Our food - my wife had steak and I had salmon - was cooked perfectly. When you done at Russell's you are treated like royalty. Very impressive.

Food and service were excellent. Servers don't hover over you but seem to appear at the right time. Mr. Salvatore was on hand to greet us. Thoroughly enjoyable visit.

We've been to Russell's on a few prior occasions so I will start by saying this "fair" rating is not the norm. We were somewhat surprised at the greeting we received at check in. The clerk/host made a terrible first impression which started us off on a bad note. She was not friendly or receptive at all. On the contrary we definitely felt like we were a bother. We needed to show a valid credit card (understood) which is the norm however my wife, who usually takes care of these matters forgot her purse at home and my wallet was tucked away in our luggage. While it took less than a minute to retrieve it the frown on her face said it all. We did NOT feel welcome at all!! Upon reaching our room we wanted to relax and let the incident pass however the sounds coming from the hallway made the passing party of people seem like they were right there in our room with us. It seemed like the walls were not much of a sound barrier. On a brighter note, dinner was fabulous as always.

Oysters were good, 4 cheese soup good. Garlicky greens were too much with my steak. Knife was dull. Desserts were meh I wanted them to be good and they were ok.

Incredible service with food that lives up to the hype, spend the money and treat yourself once in a while, you won't regret it. Thanks Everyone!

Excellent beef! Service was perfect, Chris waited on us. This is generally too high priced a place to go very often, but so worth it! One minor issue: my friend is allergic to carrots, the vegetable offered contained carrots, so Chris offered asparagus. I said I'd have the same, no mention of an upcharge. Turns out it is $2 extra for the asparagus, which I don't think my friend should have had to pay since he is allergic to what was offered. I probably wouldn't have had the asparagus had I known about the upcharge, since it didn't matter to me. I just think that could have been clearer.

Love this place, true hospitality food is always fresh delicious, and top notch.

What can I say - it's Russell's. Always a good meal. Service was pretty good but the prices and extra charges are starting to creep up.

This is our go to place whenever there is a special occasion. The dinner for two"s are very reasonable when you consider all that is included. Their steaks are excellent, service is superb & atmosphere is wonderful.

We chose Russell's Steak House for our 50th anniversary dinner.
Everything was done to perfection from the meal to the dessert.
All complimented, of course, with the special touches from the sever to the attendees.
Russell Salvatore treats his guests like royalty and friends all in one seating.
His excellence has continued over many years since we had him cater my daughter's wedding thus over the years he has only
enhanced the way he cares for his guests.
Russell still has that golden touch!

We recently rented a suite and made dinner reservations for a long awaited date night. My wife and I both ordered Steak ala Russell cooked med-rare.

When the steak arrived it was warm, not hot and cooked well done (very little pink in the middle and mostly gray and dry). 100% obvious that it spent significant time under a heat lamp. When the waiter came to check on us I showed him my steak and politely said "this is not med rare". To my surprise he answered "it happens sometimes" and he walked away and blew my concern off. Not wanting to give our date night a bad vibe I let it go.

We left extremely disappointed. How could the cook let something like this leave the kitchen? How could the waiter just brush off my concern when I'm showing him a warm gray steak? No one cared. No pride in their food. Did not live up to the hype. Not even close.

A few days later I messaged them on Facebook but they never responded.

I called and was told that I would get a call from Russell the following day.

The following day someone did call me and started off the conversation by asking for my address so they could send me a $50 gift card (which I respectively declined).

Why was this not addressed when it was brought up to the waiter? Why was I blown off when I messaged you on Facebook? Why was this not addressed when I had 2 conversations with you? No one cared. No one. What good is $50? That was an insult. Poor quality control. Poor management.

Thank you for everything you do for the community of WNY but fix your broken restaurant.

Excellent bar staff was treated excellently even though I was under dressed for the venue! If I had known the class of this establishment I would have dressed more appropriate.

Just walking into the restaurant made us feel special and welcomed, being greeted by russel himself was such a pleasure, our server ryan was amazing, he braught a great atmosphere to our table right from the start to the very end, thats so very important. The food was absolutely delicious, every appetizer to beautiful to eat, full of flavor and cooked to perfection, and our entrees were out of this world, our table of 3 each had a choice steak, all requested different temps, they nailed it and they were melt in your mouth cooked to excellence, thank you so much to everyone, it was not just dinner it was an experience and our first, we will deffinelty be back

I was there last night with a good friend. We each had the surf and turf (Steak ala Russell, and the lobster tail), which were absolutely perfect and delicious. the restaurant was also so warm and cozy, and I loved the fireplaces right in the wall of the restaurant. I also have to commend the impeccable service by professional, yet friendly, waiters. I'll be back for sure.

Wonderful place to eat and stay. Russell's has hotel and dinner packages that are great. They include their jacuzzi suites. The jacuzzis fit 2 comfortably. They include a hot breakfast buffet in their package that is also very good.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere and the food is unmatched much like their service! Great wine selection and you've just got to appreciate a business where thee owner is standing at the greeting station happily waiting to meet and host esach and every one of his guests personally 5 stars all the way around, just incredible and I will certainly be returning here not only for dinner but to stay in the very luxurious hotel the next time I am in buffalo....

My wife and I have been thinking about going to Russell s for some time. We enjoy fine dining and are always looking to try new places. When I received a gift certificate it seemed the perfect time to try Russell s, I will say it was the first and last. It took us two weeks to secure a reservation, upon arriving we were told that we had a 20 minute wait before our table was ready. The owner is standing next to the reservations desk and tends to welcome questions. Be careful when asking questions as you will be directed to another area with a very condescending tone from the owner. My suggestion to the Owner would be not to stand in an area that invites the questions he clearly does not want to answer. At the reservation desk they did not know how many people were in our party, why did we make the reservation? The wait staff and bar tender were top rate; they were willing to please in any way. Our dinner was less than desirable. For appetizers we had parmesan oysters and the Alaska King Crab dip, both disappointing. The oysters were over powered by the cheese and the crab dip was lacking flavor. For Diner my wife had the poached salmon that she enjoyed but not outstanding. I had the filet with goat cheese. This was over powered by the goat cheese and the steak had no taste other than the cheese. The waiter as well as advertisement state Russell s is known for steak while the filet is tender is has no flavor, something one would expect from a Steak House . The menu is ala carte and pricey. If you are looking for a good Steak dinner I would suggest the Black and Blue in Amherst, Red Osier in Stafford, or Alex s Place in Batavia to name a few.

If your older than 50 you will love this place if your younger you will feel like your in a fancy retirement home. Over hype and over price for me.

This was a wonderful experience for my wife and I. From the atmosphere, to the service, and especially the food , we loved it all . My Russell's cut filet, and her 10 oz filet were both perfectly cooked and virtually melted in our mouths. We also loved the tomato Bruschetta. Our server, Ryan was fantastic. He could not have done a better job! He was very polite, friendly, answered any questions that we had, and was very attentive (without smothering). We also loved seeing Mr. Salvatore moving around the restaurant seeing that everyone was being taken care of. This shows that he truly cares about his patrons and their experience at his establishment.
Absolutely an experience that we will do again.

The atmosphere is beautiful and service is excellent. I was especially impressed by the young man getting us water and bread - he just exuded this feeling of being happy to work there, I really enjoyed his authentic service. My wife got chops and I got the filet mignon dinner special. Wife's chops were great. My filet was off - I usually order medium rare but was assured their medium was a deep pink through and through so I ordered that. I was a little disappointed; it was medium-well (slightly pink center) and a little dry. Expected better considering their reputation. Borderline 3 stars but my wife's excellent chops and the service bumped it up.

The steak is so good here, I give the mashed potatoes a five star as well. The service is wonderful too, they're always there when you need them.

Always a stellar experience with the Master of Ceremonies himself making sure everything is perfect. Varied excellent wine list with varied prices as well. I had the rack of lamb which was tender and succulent with a rich coat of flavor. Service snd decor are opulent. An experience not to be denied!

Fantastic experience, this is one of the nicest and best tasting restaurants in Western New York! The environment of the restaurant is classy with a dash of modern which leads to an interesting eating experience. My family always comes here for celebrations and birthday dinners as it is consistently that good! They are a very accommodating restaurant, meaning if you have anything you need they will take care of it. Russell Salvatore is always found greeting customers and bringing people to their tables. Russell s is a bit of a longer meal at around 2hrs on average but listen to me when I say it is more than worth the time and the price!

I had a good (not great) filet mignon at Russell's. It was a pricey $46.

We have been celebrating The overnight package Dinner/ & Jacuzzi suite on many of special occasions. This weekend after this Covid- mess we enjoyed an anniversary overnight and dinner. My God just what the Dr ordered... The room was absolutely beautiful and the Steal ala Russel for dinner and my wife had pork chops straight from Heaven. Russ personally seen it out and met us at breakfast. He is an outstanding man, restauraur, and philanthropist. he is an amazingly honest man with an amazing story. Fabulous food & atmosphere!!! Steak melted in your mouth.

I was staying at the hotel and wanted a light dinner: just a salad and a glass of wine. So I said why not trying this restaurant which the owner calls the most luxurious in the whole State of NY . Wow! So I gave it a try. I ordered the chob salad and a glass fo pinot noir. The salad had a nice and modern presentations (ingredients compacted like a cylinder), but either by mistake or something, the chef had poured all available salt in the kitchen into my salad. Lol. Way too salty. As for the glass of wine, it was a table wine you low end wine.. But again the staff extremely nice just as in the hotel. That's why I am giving 3 stars.

Went there to celebrate my husband's birthday and our anniversary. The food and atmosphere were amazing. It is our special treat every year for the last 4 years, and we hope to have many more!

first time going with my boyfriend the atmosphere was amazing. The steak was so deliciouse it's a must try. The price was a bit high but it was worth it !!!!

I had to send my steak back because it was way too red to eat. But it came back perfect and the rest of the meal was wonderful.

Went here for my boyfriends grad dinner. The people and the food were amazing. I highly recommend if you want a nice dinner. A little expensive but it's worth it. I hate steak, but I decided to get it here and it was SO good.
