Called and asked about beard soecialist, was told all barbers are good beard specialists..well, my assigned barber was afraid to touch my beard, let alone know how to clean up the lines..wasted 40 bucks for a mediocre cut and an untouched beard... will give them one more chance with another barber... too bad...
JC is the best! She's really chill and nailed the style I wanted.
Great but a little expensive. Totally worth it if you find the right stylist.
They wouldnt take any more appointments or walkins after 8:30. They should yake them until 9pm.
I have been coming here to get my hair cut for 20 years. I've always enjoyed the walk-in option due to my schedule. However, for the last 6 months I have not been able to walk-in for a haircut. They take appointments now, and they are always booked out for several hours to the whole day out. They advertise "Walk-ins welcome, " but this is no longer the case. I even tried booking an appointment on-line. When I got there early for the appointment I booked; they told me that I had in fact missed my appointment. I tried looking in my email for the confirmation or a reminder, but I could not find either. When I asked if I could get a quick cut for the last 15min of what they said was my appointment, they told me no, and they were booked out for hours. I will no longer patronize this business and I will no longer recommend it to anyone I know due to false advertising and poor customer service.
The only place that I trust with my hear. Yes it's pricey, but trust me don't get your hear done at one of those $15 babers just don't.
Bad experience. I think what my stylist said speaks for itself:
Product is going to be your best friend for the next month.
I suspect this is what you were trying to avoid with your last cut, but look at what you got.
Not cool, Heather.
Need a quick haircut while walking home- this is a place to go. It usually gets pretty busy during the weekday nights but if you call ahead and get in line before it fills up. The stylists do a great job with direction, there in the game of numbers so make sure that you know what you want.
Quick, cheap, decent hair cut. Great place for a trim.
Lisa is a god of cutting hair.
It's hard to rate a salon as a whole - so I'd much rather like to recommend my hair artist Lisa. She's pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to my hair - especially if you have very fine hair.
She's great at listening to what you want - or if you'd like she's really good at recommending what would actually look better on you. Real easy and fun to talk to.
I can understand why many people would not want to go to Rudy's as it carries the hipster-Great Clips reputation, but if you can find a great hair artist at any of their locations there's no reason to hate on it.
You can't make appointments more than an hour in advance. Either you call in and get your name down on the list, or you can just walk in and put your name down for whoever is next.
Had to take a day off from work , because my hair was not cut the way I wanted... BAD JOB
Great hair cut, good masking etc, will definitely return.
Finally found a place I liked. Been going here for about 6 months. Make a reservation ahead of time and save the wait, or grab a coffee next door and wait your turn.
Heard great things about this place. Walked in and was told 2 people are before me so I sat and waited, then after 5 people got called before me, I went and asked and then got told there was a sudden rush of people booking online and say there'll be another 2 before me. The guy didn't seem to care nor was he apologetic so I left.
Should I have booked online instead of book at there location? Who knew booking online could push walk ins (that are physically there) down the list.
Horrible service and attitude!
Every time I have been here I have had nothing but great experiences. Thanks to the reception and barbers for helping an old fat guy feel at ease!
Everything was great except the barber did make a bit of a mistake on the top of my head which didn't like good after a week or so
This is a great spot. Prices are in-line with what you'd expect anywhere in Seattle and the service is fantastic. You should be able to get in immediately on a weekday, but you can always make an appointment in advance via their website to secure a time.
Fernando was amazing. Made my day... Looked like a fool when I walked in, looked amazing when I left. Thanks for the new look.
always a pleasant experience and good haircuts. little pricey though
Decent haircuts at a moderate to high price. Not worth $32 for a guys haircut.
Kali has been my stylist for a few years now. She listens well to her clients and gets it . You will be pleased whether you are a middle aged businessman, a woman looking for a layered cut, or someone looking for that unique look. She has done it all and does it well.
They have some good stylists there... Love the original location on CapHill.
I had first experienced Rudy's down in Portland on Southeast Division Street and had no idea there were ones in the Seattle area. I went to the E Pine St. location this past weekend to get a touch up to a horrible haircut I received two weeks prior. I walked away with a restored self image and that is what a haircut should be about!
Great atmosphere. I've never had an issue booking service, they have all of the services I need. Friendly staff. A bit pricey, but it's worth it not having to worry about the cut.
You can't go wrong...oh wait...it grows back. All joking aside I love coming here, if you're adventurous try someone new, or just schedule with your go to. I've been coming here for years and have always received great service.
Yikes, these folks charge twice as much as anyone else for a simple trim and they can't cut a straight line. I don't want a "hip" haircut that looks like somebody did it to me as a joke. Get it together.
Rudy's used to be my go to place for haircuts, but over the last 3-4 years, I've been scratching my head wondering who gave these people jobs as hair cutters. I've had one of them actually ask me what to do, step by step. Last time I went, and asked for a fade, the idiot gave me a crew cut. I went home and noticed a neat line where he switched from the number 2 to number 4 clippers. I would highly recommend staying away from this place unless you have a particular "stylist" in mind.
Got my hair cut with Rae and she did a fantastic job. Asian hair is difficult to cut and my head is funny shaped, and I've been to many stylists who haven't been able to quite get it right. Rae, however, did an excellent job with my fade and kept me entertained with funny, interesting conversation throughout. I have gone back to Rae whenever I need a haircut and recommend you do the same. Great service, great style, great haircut.
My husband and two preschoolers got hair cuts. It was a half hour wait, but the cuts were great and the staff was wonderful!
Walked in hoping to get a hair cut without an appointment and they got me in really quickly. Really friendly and did a great job with my hair and a beard trim too!
Seems convenient, and I had heard good things, then had a couple of good experiences myself. But several tries later, they've given me crooked bangs for the last time. Convenience isn't worth it.
Talented, well trained stylists in a great location
Checked online and there was n appointment available at 8:30pm. Decided to walk in and arrived at 8:20pm. When I got there I was told that there were no more times available for the day... So I left. On my way home I checked the website and the 8:30pm slot was still available. If you want to close early, that's fine... But maybe don't say you have open appointments available on your website in that case.
Isn't my first choice to go get a haircut but when I decide to get one the very last minute is when I go to Rudy's. The wait time is always long which why it's best to go right when it opens or go before they close. The staff is friendly and always welcoming.
Not punctual at all. If you have planety time to waste for waiting your reserved barber, go for it. No punctuality, don't go. It's great to think about making money with this service.
Excellent customer service, every time. Also have wonderful policies in place if you want a touch up within 1 week of your service.
Sara G. is great and always does me right! Both me and my husband go to her. I also love their support and contribution to LGBTQ youth program.
Didn't know how to do a feathered razor cut for an old Billie Joe look. Barber was Eric.
This particular location of the Rudy's chain is FAB! The staff is really nice, and I fi ally got someone to cut my hair exactly how I asked for it to be done... and it looks cool. Ask for Sarah
Fast and professional! Went when the people at Acme Barbers failed to even recognize I was in the building. My stylist at Rudy's was able to cut my hair perfectly. And I was not an easy cut.
Nick is phenomenal. Great human being. Always top notch haircuts, never disappointed.
My place to go in Seattle for a haircut! Ian is great!
Nina at udistrict location did an amazing job!! I just walked in with no request, just said make it look good and she delivered. Your hair always looks good when you leave a salon, the real test is the next day when you have to wash/style yourself....and I love it!!! Thanks Nina
Not sure what I was expecting as a black man in Seattle, but Rudy's Cap Hill location is not the place to go if you have black hair and need a buzz cut and a shape-up. The staff was really friendly, but I can't recommended their services.
My guy went over my head ONE time, leaving patches all over. I had to ask him to go over it again to get out some patches, which he was so kind to do, but there are still patches, which I will have to get out myself.
The shape-up was terrible, which I will have to do myself as well. See photo.
On top of that, my guy didn't have time to buzz my beard. When I booked my appointment online, the website said "whole head, one length". Apparently the bottom half of your head doesn't count. It only takes 5 minutes to buzz a beard if it's all one length with no fade. The website did have a beard trim option for $10 extra but it said that was with scissors (not what I'm looking for).
Bad experience, although I was really hopeful because everything about the business screams of inclusion and positively. I guess it's a vicious cycle: they don't have much experience cutting black customers' hair, which leads to us getting bad cuts there, which makes us not go back, and the cycle repeats.
Great place for haircuts. Short lines. Great barbers. You can buy beer and get a cut
I'm so happy Rudy's is back!! And the return of Allejandro makes it even better. I have long hair that hadn't seen a trim since October, and during lockdown I'd been trimming my own bangs. He got me back into my luscious locks and looking good in no time, even without the blowout (all part of the covid protocols). Covid protocols for check in were easy, the receptionist Gabriel meets you outside, asks a few basic questions pertaining to health, takes your temp, explains the cashless process. Then you continue to wait outside until your stylist is ready. Plus online booking is so easy! Top notch service.
I can't say much for the customer service staffers here, but I can speak to the quality of every cut I've received from Ian. He knows what he's doing and he's the only stylist I haven't had to direct. I just sit down, tell him to "fix it" and invariably he does so. He's got skills...i recommend Rudy's because I recommend Ian. Simple as that.
Always spectacular service, median price for haircuts locally. If you want a good barber and don't mind a little extra price, c'mon in.
A wonderful barbershop with kind stylists who were knowledgeable and so happy to work with me to get the best cut possible!
Tattoo shop / barber combo. Relaxed staff, quick and excellent service. For the area I thought the price was reasonable. I was only charged for what I asked for, and even given a discount for not getting a "full cut."
@Heather, I am so ready to see you! I think I want some more taken off my length and might (MIGHT) be thinking of going to my natural color or dark. Can t wait to see you Hope you re all taking care and staying safe
Oh hell yes my friend. What a reminder of how much I love nine inch nails and kick-ass hairdos with an over the south border gas station feel. All in all satisfying.
I get my hair cut here regularly. I make my appointments in the morning for later that day and have never had to wait more than 15 minutes when I arrived. The hair cuts are always decent.
Ladies, you don't need to spend a fortune to get your hair cut. I got my pixie cut at Rudy's on a last minute notice. My stylist Michelle did an amazing job and we had a great conversation about the homeless situation and Amazon taxes in Seattle. I will have to make sure to come back for a haircut next time I'm in town
Been going to Rudy for 10 years now and they're consistently good. If he go to the Capitol Hill Rudy on Pike see Heather she's awesome
My fave place for a great + affordable + friendly haircut on Capitol Hill.
I ve had haircuts a lot of places in Seattle, and Rudy s stands out for its combo of reasonable prices, many locations, many stylists at each location, expertise of stylists, and overall experience. Recommended!
Got my haircut but Will F. today. He did an awesome job, and was super nice and fun to talk to. Will go back! :D
Edit: Went back, saw Will F. again ... and he did another great job! Thanks!
Very warm and cozy barbershop, multiple convenient locations, skilled and friendliest staff you can imagine. Moderately priced.
A handful of people there are great, most of them just want to rush through a hair cut. I've had five cuts there total, one was good. I just had a haircut where, within 35 seconds of asking the barber not to buzz the back of my head, she buzzed the back of head. To be credit she salvaged what she could.
Then she started shaving a part of my back without asking me, so now I have awkward cuts of hair missing out of my back and shoulder hair. It's pretty embarrassing.
I have them a few chances and it's just not worth it to save 5-10$ going to Rudys. Just spend the money and find barbers that care about their work.
Super inclusive and LGBT friendly-space with a funky vibe. Felix is the most attentive hair stylist I ve ever had. He really takes special care of his clients and treats hair like it s art! Great option for a solid men s cut.
Nice place with a quality cut/wash for $36. I ve had a few different people from here cut my hsir and Ian is by far the best. He s always given me a thoughtful and personalized cut that turns out exactly/if not better than what I was hoping for.
TL;DR: Awful first experience. They cancelled a confirmed appointment 15 mins before. Would not recommend ever. Replies from management offering to "make it right" are apparently fake.
ETA: Management is very on top of replying to negative reviews offering to help find a solution. However, if you email the address they give, they do not seem to respond. (I will update if I ever receive a response from them in email.) So it is all for show. Don't be tricked.
After reading other reviews about the pitfalls of not having an appointment or being late to an appointment, I decided to avoid those mistakes and made an appointment 2 days in advance. I selected "any stylist" for maximum flexibility and I planned to arrive 10+ minutes early. Rudy's called to cancel my appointment 15 minutes before the scheduled time saying one of their stylists was out sick (at this point, I was about a block away from the shop, having walked 25 minutes to get there). They offered to reschedule me for 2.5 hours later than my original appointment, which means that instead of taking an hour for the appointment it would take 3.5 hours plus.
So, I guess this is the place to go if you don't have a job, you have all day to hang around (even if you made an appointment), and you don't really care whether you get your hair cut today or not. Or if you just actually wanted to go for a nice walk and not get a hair cut. I certainly won't be back.
Great place for people of all genders and walks of life to come and get a trim.
Best haircut experiences I've had in my life. Personally, what I want out of a haircut is an affordable, non-gendered pricing structure (as someone who has always had extremely short hair I dislike getting charged twice as much for a "woman's" cut), drop-in convenience, and stylists who strike the perfect balance between giving you friendly advice and honoring your own preferences for your haircut. Rudy's checks off all 3 for me.
The best haircuts with the hippest people on Capitol Hill. This Rudy's delivers quality and consistency for the 10+ years I have gone here.
Depend on how you get but great staff and haircuts.
Drop ins are easy, but the haircuts are hit or miss.
i went in on tuesday to get my undercut reshaved. i ve had the bottom of my head shaved for a couple of years and i just wanted them to reshaved the part i had previously shaved. the staff were super friendly and nice, but they shaved my undercut higher than i ve ever had it (the shaved part starts above my ears now!) and the shave was patchy. they then charged me the price of a full buzz cut ($15!!) even though i only wanted a small section of my head shaved. my undercut looks awful now and i don t think ill feel comfortable wearing my hair up for a few months (which is problematic because i work as a cook so i kind of have to wear my hair up.) im very unhappy with the way my undercut looks now and i m upset to say the least that i paid $15 to look like this.
Great cut but duped out of the included wash / conditioner :(
First hair cut in 9 months. It made all the difference.
Great cut. Excellent service. I recommend to everyone who asks where I got my hair cut
been looking for a barber that gets my style and I finally found him in this branch. thanks Ian for the great work on my hair. will definitely be a regular.
Usually always a good haircut. My cut isn't challenging, just a buzz cut #2. I used their online appointment and still I waited an hour.
Elizabeth at the front desk person is extremely rude every time I ve been to this location.
One of their previous employees reached out to me to take me out on a date by taking my phone from their customer database.
Another employee - Ian has been spreading false information about me via mutual friends .
Jared or whatever their name is cancelled my appointment on purpose.
This chain is very toxic and I do not recommend their services. Haircuts are usually pretty bad.
