Royal Palm Hotel Review

Stunning Hotel with warm friendly staff that went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. Thank you to the AHA group. I would surely be recommending you to family friends and fellow Googlers

Average, the menu is limited, for some reason the couch cushions left me with bumps when i leaned onto them but great location as it opposite shops andrestaurants and thumbs up for cleanliness

Good Location. In front of Gateway Shoping.
Rooms are big and spacious. Secure parking available.

The service is excellent. The place is beautiful and the rooms are elegant and cozy. The standard suite has everything you need. The executive suite is amazing. Clean, tidy and a very nice size. The location is an added bonus. Directly across Gateway Shopping Theatre, just a crossing away.

The rooms in this hotel are huge. I got a free upgrade to a two bedroom, two bathroom suite.
The furnishings are a little tired, hence only 4 stars. The decor was a bit dated with thick carpets and lots of dark wood. If you're into that kinda thing, then it would be a 5 star stay all the way.

Great service and spacious, clean rooms. Air-conditioning is noisy and could be heard through the night even when turned off in the room.

Mould in the bathroom. They never replenished my water. My colleague had a cockroach in her room, her bathroom was also mouldy, she didn't want to bath, took a shower. My side lamp was not working, called twice to get it fixed. Asked for an iron not once, but twice. No thank you!!!!!

I loves my stay here. Did not have much time to take many photographs. This is by far the best hotel in Umhlanga Ridge. Rooms are spacious, meals are great, the mall is across the road. The staff are amazing and very helpful. Breakfast serves the best cappachino in Durban.

We had booked for 27 - 29 August 2020 to celebrate my birthday in Durban and I was impressed at first by the big rooms, spacious and welcoming. However, on the night of the 28th, at about midnight, I was woken up by loud noises outside our room, people were fighting, screaming and seemed drunk. It was loud and very uncomfortable! The morning of the 29th, we had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant and the service was appaulling to say the least. We wait for very long to be served and they seemed understaffed. The kitchen staff made fun of other guests from the kitchen area and we could hear them!!! It was very unpleasant. The management needs to attend to these complaints or the hotel will be history very soon.

Very underrated Hotel. The rooms on the top floor are very nice, value strong and fantastic space. Location is without doubt a major plus. Facilities, gym and breakfast are all enjoyable and the staff are helpful with smiles galore.
Would recommend to business and leisure patrons. NB: safe underground parking a bonus as well as the direct access lifts- to your floor.

It's a beautiful hotel , the staff is very friendly but what I didn't like was that for breakfast all glasses were dirty , I changed more than 8 glasses just before I could drink juice. The ham was sour and the Appel juice was sour as well. Regardless of that, I will still come back and also recommend people

The hotel has spacious rooms, good location etc but management is not operating it at its full potential:

1. Reception people are very unfriendly.
2. Anyone can take the lifts to the hotel rooms, you don't even need a room card to enter the lifts.
3. Carpets are dirty.
4. I found dirty towels and bedding in my room.
5. Breakfast is way too expensive, it's R375 for two people and there's nothing special about it. It's easier to walk across the road and get a better breakfast for less.

Had Christmas Lunch - Staff were very good - quick, efficient and friendly. Starters and Dessert was lovely but the main course was very average.

Quaint boutique hotel, in a very central location. The staff were helpful and the rooms are incredibly spacious. The decor is just a tad old fashioned.

Its a great hotel, really enjoyed my stay there. The breakfast was on point. However in the morning the house keeping staff kept on budging in without me saying come in, that was really a turned off.

What a beautiful place to be in. Great service game!! I was Offered excellent, safe and free parking as guest. I was also not given problems about the number of guests that had popped in for a quick day visit during my stay there. The room service was on point and the place was spotlessly kept.The buffet breakfast menu was also excellent. One day i woke up late way after breakfast time slots however management ensured that i did get breakfast and I was really amazed at their level of humanity and consideration for guests. Well done to management and staff. Keep up the standards, it's people like this that make us happy clients ensuring repeat business and excellent word of mouth marketing

Raw food served on the left In the picture. Food is really Bad...Completely tasteless Aswell..We had Christmas Lunch here...Royal Palm...get rid of your Chefs....however on a side note...Service from waitor was good though....

Spacious tranquil rooms. Loved the balcony.
Staff professional, friendly and welcoming.
Attention to detail. Best room service in a long time.
Shower however getting mouldy but otherwise clean and fresh.

Very welcoming staff good service, nice large room very comfortable if say 4star at a very reasonable rate, microwave, fridge, sink, cutlery, huge bed, good lighting, everything you need, I highly recommend it!

There is really nothing royal about this hotel, a downgrade is necessary. House keeping is horrible, had to ask for towels and for the bathroom to be cleaned. We called 3 times in 2,5 hours requesting one item which was never delivered. More

The apartment we stayed at was lovely! Clean and welcoming and very comfortable. Great location , right across Gateway mall in Umhlanga. Halaal restaurants are walking distance. Would definitely recommend this place.

Hassle free check inn. Staff friendly and helpfull. Good breakfast. The rooms are very spacious. Will definately recommend.

Super large rooms ...very convenient and I love the space ...cause I'm working

Booked through agoda from the 9th to the 12th.
There was a subsequent death in my family that needed a change of arrangements.
I was not sure that both agoda and the hotel would be accommodating however I was surprised. Called Ishara at the hotel. She expressed genuine empathy for the situation and offered to cancel the accommodation with no penalties.

Very convenient location, across the road from Gateway shopping centre and a block from Umhlanga Netcare hospital. Rooms are clean and staff friendly.

Awesome suite, far better than expected. Courteous and helpful staff. Close to airport. Over the road from Gateway mall so easy access to a large variety of restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
