Very educational and wonderful time for both adults and children!
Very educational and wonderful time for both adults and children!
Awesome zoo and props for the veterans discount ...
My kids love the zoo! I think my 4 year old knows where each animal is and could qualify for a tour guide internship, if available.
It is a beautifully kept zoo ! A fun walk around the loop . The animals are interesting , the people are beautiful, especially the children . It is a feel good place !!!!
Wonderful atmosphere and if you enjoy walking through a park like setting this is the place for you.
First time here and it was at random... totally worth it
Made a delivery today, staff is always very friendly and helpful
Dont go unless you buy a ticket half price can't do anything during covid
Great awesome place to take the kids for a Well educated experience
Great exhibits reasonably priced lots of fun for the whole family
The animals are rarely around, and the prices are through the roof
Very nice zoo located very close to my home. It's not the biggest or greatest but it gets the job done.
We where there because of family day at Byrne dairy and it was very nice seeing the animals the aquarium
It's was great as usual definitely missed the Lions but has an awesome new animal
Great zoo and free for military (including vets) and up to 5 family members. Currently under construction.
Drove over an hour to get there not knowing I had to Reserve spots then pay there. I had to call before going in and the lady who answered was rude, animals were hardly out, most if it was under construction. Didn t have the aquarium open, no bears, didn t have much of anything and no food or snacks. The gift shop was overpriced, poor quality and not a lot to choose from. Would have been better if they had more stock to choose from anywhere between having hats for sale to shirts especially for adults.
Educational, animals had habitats will be safe from harm from poachers and hunters.
Cute zoo, the apiary was cleaner in Summer 2017 than I've ever seen it (or smelled it) before. Good for children, takes about 90min.
Great for a smaller zoo! The food prices are quite high however the gift shop is reasonable!
Went to zoo saturday september seven with my grandson and his great grama. Very disappointed. Only seen maybe three animals besides the fish and reptiles. In wolf area was two dead white rabbits. Had to explain that to grandson. I think the only fun he really had was on way out in the big sand box. What happened to the zoo we all knew as a child????
Was hot... fun family experience... I wished there were another one or two bathroom and drink locations. I separated from my group and missed seeing a wolf snap a groundhogs neck but that's not the zoo's fault. Great Father's Day with my dad and my children.
This place is great. Good for kids and adults. Good prices and happy animals.
Nice redone looked the Dinos and enjoyed the day with the family
Amazing Zoo, very clean with a nice selection of animals
Great place to get some steps in on your step counter and see some beautiful animals. There is a lot to keep your children entertained and hopefully ware them out a little. They are in the middle of quite a few changes to give the zoo a facelift. The penguins are always fun and tend to play with you when looking through the windows. The clouded leopard is very beautiful and I've included a picture. They have restrooms in a few convenient locations and are very wheelchair friendly. They even have a food court to get your grub on if you work up an appetite enough. Their gift shop has plenty of trinkets to choose from to take home a souvenir of your favorite animal too.
Brew @ The Zoo was killer. Ton of beer and food kiosks and looking at animals while drunk is awesome.
Early season visit... good only to get better with warmer weather
Nice zoo but I was disappointed with their use of space.
Never anything out . and most animals look old and decrepit
I went here right after school had started, so the zoo was dead. It was great. A wolf tried to play with me, which was basically the highlight of my life.
Very nice zoo with plenty of animals to see, including a cool bird enclosure you can walk through right with the birds. It's not nearly as big as some other major zoos in the country, but still a nice zoo. They even have animatronic dinosaurs scattered throughout.
Great place to bring the family!! I recommend going on a cooler day as most of the animals outside were inactive on the hot day we went. But overall amazing
Always love the zoo. They need a few more exhibits at this zoo tho. Overall clean and fun.
Granddaughter loves it. They need more handicap parking...they only have a few spots.. dinosaur exhibit great
One elephant, Mali, gave birth to her calf, Ajay, at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in January 2019. Unfortunately, based on the zoo s past actions, it seems likely that Mali and Ajay will be separated. In the early 2000s, Mali gave birth to another calf named Chuck, and the zoo broke them up three years later.
Elephants are extremely social and empathetic creatures, and a bond between a mother and baby is strong. Removing a mother s child can lead to devastating social and health issues for both parties.
This was a huge disappointment. I d like to preface this with the fact that I have a Biology degree and specialize in animal captivity and zoo engagement geared toward animal ethology. Most exhibits lacked any type of animal engagement. The first sight when you walk in are birds of prey leashed to stumps followed up by caged birds of prey tearing at their tags. The primates are shoved into incredibly small enclosures - again with absolutely no form of engagement. Most of the big cats and wolves showed concerning signs of boredom and depression. I don t know if it s a lack of funds or a lack of effort, but this zoo was more like a prison.
Wish it had more animals inside when the weather is chilly and wish the food and drinks where cheaper
I took my teenage daughter here after a doc appt for a little mother daughter time. We had a lot of fun! There was one area they were doing construction on. They made it a part of the zoo experience by having a large zoo like informative sign about the construction workers! They are so creative. If we did go again we would try to go earlier. The animals had just had lunch so they were a little lethargic. Except for the penguins and turtles....it must have been mating season for them. Ha ha!
10/10 would recommend. The animals are so cool and the staff is super nice. haven't been there since the pandemic started so idk how they're handling that but when there's not a pandemic its fun
Love this zoo!! Granted it was winter when we went so it was cold but it was a saturday (feeding day) and all the animals were wound up and it was amazing!!! Most definitely being my family back here!!
Nice zoo. Looks like animals are taken care of. Nice walk around
This zoo is AMAZING! My husband and I went here for a date day and were not disappointed. I hope we make this a regular place to visit!
They should keep the dinosaurs permanently. They're awesome!
Got in early enough to see most of the animals!!! Loved being able to walk around easily to view them was great!
Because of covid not everything was available but still very nice and once all this is over hope to go back just have to make reservations to get in
Every time is amazing. We love this small local zoo.
Rosamond Zoo was great. I have Not been in over 20 years. A Lot of animals. My great niece and her mo, go often. Good memories with A Lot of pictures.
Very reasonable price! Lots of cool animals and exhibits. Some exhibits were empty or under construction but there were lots of others to enjoy. We went on a Tuesday after school started up again and it was great. Not to busy and close parking.
Went here for our 5th anniversary and it was very nice.
The Zoo was great. It is nice that they have both indoor and outdoor parts to visit as the day we went it was beyond freezing. They were doing construction so parts of the Zoo weren't open but there was still more than enough to see.
I was amazed at the amount of animals that were actually outside of their enclosures walking around despite the frigid weather. Definitely learned a few new things while there.
Super to me I love it is like being in another world, in the animal kingdom.
Even if this zoo wasn't free for active duty ID holders & family, I still would've GLADLY paid the general admission price.
This day trip was not only fun for my 3 year old but for my husband & I, as well as visiting family.
Even though it was packed, there was still tons of room to walk & space to view the animals.
As we were walking around the aquarium part, we saw workers cleaning out certain tanks so I know they must care about the animals & the presentation.
Absolutely nothing disappointed me! We will be returning again & again until we no longer live here.
Great zoo, been coming here since I was a kid, still a wonderful place
Great place to bring the family. Unfortunately under construction and you have to back track a few times bc of it. Zoo is in a "U" shape due to construction. Doesn't flow nicely when a bunch of people are there.
From long island ny. A great place to bring the kids
Always a pleasure to go to. We went for the Asian Elephant Extravaganza.
Very clean zoo! Visited on a hot day and it was refreshing to see they had the water sprayers on. The entrance fee was quite reasonable, and the staff was very knowledgeable about the animals. Spent about 2.5 hours here.
Beautiful place to see the animals. For all ages. Family, friends. Anyone that loves Nature. I know I do.
My kids still love going to the zoo! They're older now, but still beg to go when they're home from school. That's a lasting impression that will keep them interested in conservation and preservation of our environment and our endangered species.
Great zoo with lots of different types of animals and things for younger kids to do! Always enjoy coming to visit with family
