We love the zoo. We had a fantastic time. We enjoyed to new Elephant Exhibit. Beautiful and clean! The Komodo Dragon was the highlight of our visit!
Rosamond Zoo is a great place to bring your family. My 2 year old always has a blast and hates to leave. Prices are average, although the cafe they have there is on the pricier side, it's still not bad. We will be back again and again throughout the years, I'm sure.
Lovely place to spend an afternoon. There is a decent variety of animals and clean well kept enclosures.
Its very sad to see half of the animals gone from my childhood
zoo is clean. refreshment stand on the opposite side of the main entrance would be nice. Would be nice if they put information like: No lions and all but 3 monkeys on display. they also announced new cheetah cubs but again, not on display.
Brought my dad as he has never been here. Upset that we didn't get to see the main animals, such as bears, lion, tiger. Others we had to search for, alot of empty cages.
Need new animals, and trees need to be moved so you can see the animals!
The Rosamond Gifford zoo is an amazing zoo with many exhibits and very friendly staff. They have dozens of animals from octopus to elaphants, and with their prices it is definitely worth visiting
I love this zoo and they were renovating last I visited, so I expect they'll get even better!
They should post a warning about nearly half of the zoo being blocked off before you make your reservations. The exhibits that are open, the animals are so far away that they re hard to see. You re essentially paying to take a walk.
The staff doesn t enforce the mask policy or the distancing guidelines as well.
Zoo employees always willing to answer questions. Love going to the zoo with my kids & family.
Very nice n had fun with family ..didnt get to see to many animals they were hiding from heat i guess had fun n took alot of pic..
I haven't been here in awhile they really have done some major improvements and continue to do so, a really good place to enjoy a nice day, with some unique animals.
A cute zoo with lots of interesting animals. There sanitizing stations and social distancing were clearly marked and well placed through out
Small quant and nice. Under construction for outside exhibits .
Always good. Still good even with covid restrictions
It was a great zoo to see some popular animals with an older family member with the number of exhibits viewable under shade or inside
Great zoo for a family-manageable size. More enjoyable than far bigger zoos like the Bronx Zoo. Just more fun and a more intimate learning experience for children.
A great zoo. Not excessively large, but has a ton of great exhibits packed into it, which is perfect, because you see great stuff, but don't get exhausted from walking around. I have been to the SF zoo and the San Diego zoo, but I liked this more than both of those. :)
It's a little small compare to other zoo's in bigger cities. But at least you get to actually see the animals. Other places keep the Lions, tigers and elephants hidden or rather, there is always some reason they can't be out. Plus you can take your time and read about the animals, 3 hours later you have seen it all.
The dinosaur exhibit was the highlight of my almost three year olds time. Always love the zoo.
I was not impressed with the habitat areas for the animals. I felt sad for many of them. I dont get why the allow animals to play with cardboard cartons such as cereal boxes and egg cartons. Monkeys were cute. Many of the animals were asleep. Line for food long!
Nice and clean. Price of admission is very affordable, you can bring the whole family
Very well put together zoo.. love the new dinosaur part .... definitely worth a visit
Great zoo. Big enough to enjoy a few hours but not too big it is overwhelming. Great staff. Very clean.
I love this zoo. So affordable and you can spend the whole day here! I recommend going near feeding times as that's when the animals will be the most active.
I feel like this is probably the best zoo in our area and we drove quite a way! It was worth it though. The park is set up in a circle so you just follow it around and don't have to worry too much about missing anything. The penguins were so cute, and there were plenty of places to watch then. They also have some indoor exhibits which were pretty neat. We had a good time for a low price. Look forward to returning! We missed all the special events so next time it will be an even better visit, can't wait!
I've been going to this zoo since I was a baby in a stroller. It's a source of so many good memories for me. But why I rate it three stars has to do with the animals. They seem sad and their spaces are so small. The flamingos are pale pink instead of a vibrant color because they don't get enough shrimp, the monkeys just run in circles and I feel as though the animals diets and enclosures aren't up to par. I understand this is a zoo and I in no way think they harm the animals at all. Every time I see a worker interacting with an animal they're very gentle and very sweet. It's just sad to see so many magnificent creatures locked up.
One of the cleanest zoo's I have ever seen. Always a great time
A charming zoo tucked away in Syracuse. I've gone several times and each time something changes. You can tell this isn't just a zoo for entertainment but a zoo that wants to teach about conservation and preserving what we have. This is a place that cares for the environment and makes a point to let guests know.
Zoos are really changing from what they used to be. These places give animals a second chance to live and reproduce so we don't lose certain species forever. Highly recommend this lovely zoo.
Excellent elephant maternity ward! Good variety of animals, very nice staff. We are yearly membership and go 2-3 times/month.
Don't agree with some of the animals habitats, like what's in there. But overall it's a good zoo.
Today was the worst of our visits to the park. Takes staff forever to get out to break up a fight. Sad part is the one woman was 8 months prego and all the cursing in front of children. This is sad for the zoo. You need more people to walk around more and more security needs to be walking around to stop this. My kids were crying and scared seeing this at a public zoo. I'll take my kids somewhere else till this gets addressed.
Nice sized zoo for the area. The big attractions are the elephants, tigers and lion. Part of the zoo is indoors which makes it nice on rainy days. Nice variety of animals too.
I love all zoos. I try to come see the tigers and stroll the park when the weather is nice.
Small Zoo, animals seem well cared for. Pricesnin the cafeteria are a bit pricey.
MILITARY FRIENDLY me and my girlfriend are both active duty and it's free so for all your fort drummers I would definitely go it's a great date idea its clean and has pretty big variety of animals P.S wear good shoes the place is huge your gonna be walking alot
I wish there were more to see there. But overall good experience. I ve been there plenty of times. My favorite time I went was when the photography contest was going on. That was pretty cool they let us in for free!
Small zoo but you can experience a wide variety of animals during the warmer months
Great for kids and getting exercise
Their dinosaur display along the walk was very neat and you didn't have to pay extra!
Beautiful zoo and quite a bargain. We were unfortunate enough to pick a day when ten schools were there so it was a madhouse but the kids seem to enjoy it. The red panda exhibit was awesome, they were so close and very adorable. There was quite the 'pandamonium' over them.
The design and landscape is superior to all other zoos I've been to and the enclosures were the largest also.
Fun day.
Nice, clean, family-friendly zoo but very small and not a huge selection of animals...don't plan to be here all day!!!
A nice place to go with kids, significant others or just yourself. There s a good amount to see both inside and out. The gift shop is quite price however. I m not sure about the food court. Admission is free is you re military. Spent a good two hours there and had a good time.
I am always impressed when we head to this zoo. The kids have fun and get to see so much! It's a great zoo and I will take any opportunity I can to go back.
My kids love this zoo. It is much larger than Seneca Park Zoo. The food at the cafe is reasonably priced. It is a good time!
To bad the buildings were closed but it was nice to be there again.
This was a wonderful little zoo. The entrance fee was very low and reasonable. The habitats for all the animals were very spacious and clean. The variety of goats and sheep were a particular favorite of mine. Will definitely be back.
Fun place with lots of great animals. All the animals look comfortable in their enclosures and staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions. Overall a very good experience for families of all kinds.
The only complaint I could raise would be regarding the food. As always inside the park, food stands and drinks are overpriced but they do not check bags. I would recommend bringing food and drink unless you don't mind putting the extra money into the park.
I don't really like seeing animals in captivity but it was free and my kids loved it. Park was clean and staff was nice.
Always a good time clean friendly staff and free for all veterans and family
Not a Great Time a lot of empty cages. The Wild In Chittenango puts it to shame
Not the best zoo we've visited but it was relaxing .A lot of the cages/areas seemed to be empty and some were closed outright, which is understandable. Many allowed the animals to hide out-of-sight which detracts from the visitor experience.
Not enough displays. Good thing the dinosaurs were there. They were the best part of zoo.
Please keep in mind that during the pandemic the zoo requires that you make a reservation in advance online. Also keep in mind that they close the entrance to visitors by 3:00. Probably a good trip if you can get these things done
It's not the biggest zoo but big enough to keep you busy the eaterie staff are rude
Love this zoo! So nearby and I've been going since I was a kid.
Always have a great time, I have a membership and always enjoy my time here especially on special occasions that are posted on their Facebook page. I love it here, so does my kiddo!
An enjoyable 90minutes outside looking at animals. They're having 30 people per half an hour during COVID. There was supposed to be a one way path through the zoo, but the signs were limited (I saw four total) and people choose to go clockwise or counterclockwise pretty much at random. (Counterclockwise is correct.)
Many of the animals were out and active during the winter which was lovely. A few exhibits were undergoing renovations. Overall I thought it was fine for the cost of the tickets.
The gift shop was particularly nice. One of the most affordable, with high quality items, I've been too in a long time. Everyone in my group ended up leaving with a plushie! (Only 20$)
Zoo is small lt, it took under 2 hours to go through the whole thing. There is no hands on with any animals for the kids
Very nice zoo. Extremely reasonable price! Much better than my local exhibits in and near Binghamton area!!!!!!
