I love how this zoo focuses on conservation efforts and how they do education on a daily basis. We went to see the elephant show and spoke with one of the zoo keepers who was very informative about the program and elephants themselves. Great afternoon visit for all ages!

With the new reservation policy, being a member and having to call the members line was simple and efficient. When we got there the posted signs indicating the direction to proceed around the park was well marked. Was disappointed that you could only go once around and that both the aviary and the underwater areas were not open.

If the Zoo would like out of towners to visit, they should make better signage so we can locate them!!! Took us an hour in circles to finally get to the entrance! Please fix your signs!!

I first visited this zoo in 2008, shortly after moving to Central New York, and quite frankly I wasn't all that impressed. This past summer I returned to the zoo, with my daughter, to see the baby elephant. I was very impressed with the small, albeit significant, changes the zoo has made. We returned, for a second visit, a few weeks later.

This is hands down the best zoo around. My son and I have been going for 10 years come rain sun and snow and we love it! Always clean, very nice keepers! Great gift shop. Best of all beautiful animals and beautiful enclosures. Good places to take photos too! I have my son growing up in front of the tiger statue!

Beautiful zoo, reasonably priced, clean, and well maintained. I was very impressed with how healthy the animals appeared to be. Staff were friendly and informative. They have spray areas for cooling and there is plenty of parking. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go again. Great place to spend a few hours. I highly recommend it.

Great place to visit for a day trip. Lots to see, great for the little kids. I do wish there were a few people around to help direct 'traffic' and maybe some fun facts about different animals that were there. Overall, fabulous place. I highly recommend it!

A lot of mud in pens, I'm sure cannot be helped. Nice place, but loud helicopter mothers ruined the experience. Rosamond Gifford staff: Post signs!! "to respect the environment, keep voices down."

Living in Syracuse, I love this zoo, the accessibility, the size, but I feel like we have taken a turn for the worse as far as quality. I go several time a year and, My sister and I went yesterday and were just talking about how aged a lot of our animals are, how a lot of the enclosures haven t been updated in a long time. The red wolf and tiger enclosures were so over grown it was hard to find the animals, it was a warm day and the bear enclosure did not have any water running in it(let those bears cool down!). The dinosaur exhibit was cute but I didn t like the fact that several live animal displays like the bald eagles, foxes and lynx enclosures were torn down to accommodate plastic extinct animals... it s a zoo... I will still visit but I m hoping in the future we can continue to update and grow our wonderful zoo, not let it fall into a dump.

Great zoo. Perfect size and well laid out, you don't get exhausted walking it like some zoos. Elephants, lions, tiger, wolf, octopus, eels, armadillos, monkeys, penguins, lots of variety. Friendly staff and patrons, pretty laid back vibe, great!

Decently priced on some items best time to go tho is later at night or when it's a little cooler out ate at their cafe had a burger and fries a little overpriced but it wasn't to bad of a meal they had misters throughout the Zion where you could cool off not to much searing tho or at least any that I could see. Over all I would drive the hour and a half there again

Featuring a science-focused, conservationist dialogue embellished with amusement park-like presentation--including a life-size model submarine which serves as a path to a hallway made to look like an underground cave--this zoo invites its guests to view and enjoy the animals on display, while providing them with the knowledge to consider the role of each creature (humans included) in the natural world. Thoughtfully designed exhibits house well cared-for animals, while dedicated and passionate staff share their knowledge and love for them. A must for families and visitors to the city, the Zoo is one of the best things about Syracuse.
