Great little restaurant with a nice bar and outdoor dining.
Great little restaurant with a nice bar and outdoor dining.
My husband went to the bar with friends and said the service was outstanding. He brought me home cheesecake, which was TERRIBLE. The texture was weird, more like a gelatin. The flavor was off too. It lacked the usual sharp cream cheese flavor..... tasted like whipped cream and jello had a baby. Disappointing.
Company Christmas Party held here... GREAT food & service
Very good food and service. From an atmosphere perspective, a little bit noisey for me but it could have just been my mood. I will return.
Great to offer outside seating. Staff was superb and very accommodating. Food was above par and delicious and we'll presented. Almost didn't want to leave
Excellent food and drink, great staff and attention
Great staff, good food, I suggest the cheese plate and the lazy man chicken you can t go wrong.
Best truffle mac and cheese ever. Chicken was perfect, sauces were great, kids food came out fast. Servers were pleasant and accommodating. Clean bathrooms. We would absolutely go back.
This one star is in protest of them doing away with their unlimited taco Thursdays with $2 beers. Long live Taco Thursdays.
This is the first time that I've been to this restaurant since they changed names... Sat at the bar with a friend had the most excellent conversation with both bartenders on staff and never got their names... The food was amazing even better than I thought it was going to be... It will not be the last time I will be there you guys are doing an outstanding job...
Very clean restaurant and the chicken is top notch. The buffalo chicken salad is my favorite!
Our family met with friends and we enjoyed the lazy chicken combo and the turkey Reuben and brussel sprouts. The IPA's were good too
This place, the food never disappoints. Even on a busy day or take out, brunch or dinner the food is always delicious!
We were seated quickly, the service was attentive yet we did not feel rushed, and the food was absolutely delicious. The prices are definitely decent for the quality, and quantity of food we received. Will definitely return.
Great craft beer selection, fast service (greg was amazimg) and delicious food. Whats not to like??
We had the perfect wedding shower brunch at Rooster Co yesterday. It was easy to plan with Emily and the room is so nice and cozy. The food is amazing and everyone loved the cocktails. We were able to bring in dessert and any and all decorations. And the prices are so reasonable. I would book another event here in a second.
The food is great but the service is AWFUL. Reservations don't matter, pickup times for takeout don't matter. Today was the third time I've left Rooster hungry after a lengthy wait and no food and it's just not worth it.
Solid overall experience every time we have visited day, night and brunch.
The quality of the food is always fantastic and healthy meals are always an option at the Rooster Co. If you are trying to avoid eating GMO and antibiotics infused foods, then you need to try this place.
Good food, good service, decent beer selection little limited on local craft beers. Lots of specialty drinks
Great place! Food, service and atmosphere. A++++ all the way!
Nice selection of apps and drinks..Great location and ample parking
Loving the atmosphere and energy of this place. Great staff. Victoria was awesome! Great food. The calamari and lobster rolls were delicious. Cleanliness - 5 Stars! Can't wait to return. Highly recommend the Buddy Holly cocktail. You will not be disappointed.
***Vegetarian review*** On a Friday night we were looking for a place to go out, This was conveniently located near us. I'm a vegetarian, so I am very used to being disappointed by food selection for vegetarians/vegans. Friday nights special is the Non meat Wellington. It was so delicious. Included a picture of it. I was blown away, I thought I'd never eat it all, but I ate every last bite of it. The corn bread was dry and not particularly fantastic, but the wellington made the night for me. There were a few other options on the menu that would cater to a vegetarian, but if you're going in on a Friday, this is what I would recommend.
Also the beer was fantastic, I love stouts, and I got the Breckenridge Chocolate Orange stout Nitro. Atmosphere was great, not too loud. Waitress was very nice, Saw me struggling with splitting up the bill, and came out with it all split for us! Small factor but they also give everyone water at the start. Not as common as you might think anymore. This will probably be our regular spot Fridays ;)
We went there for Sunday brunch and were not disappointed. The food was tasty and the staff was courteous and friendly.
Cavatelli, corn crema, Jimmy Nardello heirloom peppers! Outstanding!
Exvellent food, great service. Menu always has something new and interesting on it. My wife and i had our wedding rehersal dinner here last year, great place.
Very accommodating we had a large party. Everything was sooo good! We had a oysters, pork belly, wings, Kale salad ( personally needed more dressing but still was great!), cheese board, the prime ribeye ( tender and well seasoned) , meatballs and bucatini ( meatballs were moist and well seasoned, the sauce was perfect). A whole chicken and a lightly fried fish dish both just as delicious as everything else. Dante our server was amazing. Cant wait to go back.
Great food. Loved the calamari and the chef plate. Reasonable prices.
Food is quality, drinks are tasty, staff is friendly
Rooster often has special events that focus on some particular cuisine or theme; they're awesome. Go to at least one.
The menu lacks in diversity, but makes up for it in consistency of great dishes. Everything you order here will be good.
The drinks are great. We moved here from a cocktail scene in the west and haven't been too impressed with what's up in this area - Rooster and only a few other places have scratched that itch for us. Just like the food, everything you order will be good.
Big fan. Two thumbs up.
Nice place for drinks and craft beers. Good food as well.
Amazing Amazing Amazing If you haven't tried this restaurant yet your missing out on a Delicious brunch!!!
Awesome. Great vibe, better food. Came for brunch, portions were large and well worth the price. Good bloody Mary. Excellent eggs Benedict. Bacon!
Great food with a very autumnal for the season. Had a great experience with our server, Bryant.
Always a great place to have Lunch or Dinner. Very good menu selection and the food quality is excellent
I got an app it was good . I bought a draft beer that cost almost as expensive and it was flat and not cold .
A little pricey but best calamari near by, awesome dishes I usually get salmon burger or chicken sandwich with truffle fries
I've NEVER had anything that was disappointing here. As a matter of fact, I've never had anything here that I didn't have a knee jerk, audible "Mmmmmm" reaction to. Fresh ingredients. Constantly changing menu. Consistently knock it out of the park. Can't reccomend enough.
The lamb, steak, cracklings, calamari, oh let's not forget the service were great. The Rooster Co. is the best restaurant in Newington. Its certainly a welcoming n warm slice of our town. A must do for bucket listers, you won't be disappointed.
Sincerely.
I've been here a couple times and waited to review it. I wanted to give Rooster and Co. a fair chance as a couple friends like it. The food is decent and service has been subpar.
I was disappointed this past visit. Service a little slow...but friendly. Calamari was greasy and heavy. Usually so light and delicious. Asparagus app with 5 min egg was stone cold. Asked server if this was supposed to be warm and she said it was. It wad cold like it was in fridge. Coffee was luke warm. Had server hest in microwave. Usually have great meals there. Not last night.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Nice environment, great, attentive staff, parking in front is limited but there is a lot in the back. I got the 1/2 chicken with buttery cavatelli and it was amazing! The chicken was so delicious, had enough for leftovers!
I must say, this is some of the best chicken I've had. I got the chicken Parmesan. It seemed a little pricey for the area ($21), but it was a large piece of chicken. There must be something to the local sourcing of chicken, because this was substantially better than your average chicken. I would definitely return here if I were in the area.
They also had a pretty good beer selection.
I've been going to Rooster Co. ever since I moved to the area and I love the atmosphere, the creative and constantly updated menu, and the friendly staff. They have specials each night that keep things interesting and make Rooster an even more interesting experience.
Best restaurant in the GHA, hands down. Never eaten anything that wasn't an orgasm in my mouth. Have eaten multiple new items I've never tried before after gaining trust that it wouldn't be served if it wasn't delicious. The wait staff rocks, the beer selection is amazing, and the chef is quite possibly the most gifted chef ever. Or at least makes the most delicious food I've ever tasted, and for a fraction of the price of much more expensive restaurants. Plus, it is all local farm to table...you really can't go wrong.
My new favorite spot. Hands down. I came for brunch and had a wonderful time dining outdoors. Thanks chef!!
Great selection of drinks and their rotisserie chicken is the best!
What a delightful find in Newington, CT. Rooster Co. is a wonderful farm-to-table restaurant located in the center of Newington. The menu is wholesome and bursting with flavor! They are noted for their rotisserie chicken, and the rest of their menu is chock full of deliciously paired items. We really enjoyed the cheese plate appetizer and the chicken soup is delicious with plenty of chicken meat, vegetables and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is upscale and vibrant. The service was outstanding and everyone of the team that we met were extremely friendly and engaged us in conversation, as well as answered questions and offered suggestions. This is a great find at reasonable prices. So much better than those "chain restaurants!"
I keep waiting to be blown away but it hasn't happened yet. I do like to frequent local establishments, so I'll be back.
The wife and I were planning a motorcycle ride and we wanted to find a brunch spot in CT. This was the first option that she found and I'm glad that she did! It was worth the ride! The portion sizes were huge! We shared the chicken and waffles and avocado toast! If I was ever in Newington again, I would definitely go back!
Baby shower for our daughter. The food was fabulous and Dennis was great! Everyone had a wonderful time. Only minor issue, there was no place to hang coats.
The food was really good. Lots of different choices that you wouldn't really think about eating together. I definitely would recommend this place
Best oysters ever!! Also got the arugula salad with salmon and it was perfection. Will be back!
I had been looking forward to going to this place for a while, but meh pretty much sums up my experience.
Pros: clean place with ok decor, local farm obtained food
Cons: bland tasting food, NOT the best coffee despite claims
Food was great, but we waited over an hour for our meal in the afternoon when there were maybe 4 other people dining there.
Seriously the food is fantastic. Everything from the appetizer to the two main coarse dishes we got the food was unbelievable. Get the rotisserie!!!! Service was great to bartenders super friendly.
I constantly come purchasing some food in here. I loved the speedy customer service and well prepared food. Great work.
Great food and atmosphere. Definitely try the pot pie - I highly recommend it.
Amazing. Ordered a salad and it blew my mind. A SALAD.
Amazing food! Host Dan is incredibly personable and knowledgeable about the menu!
This place was horrible. Service wasn t anything special, though probably was the best part of my first time coming here-he just kinda shrugged and barely paid attention to us. I ordered a ceaser salad, ate two bites and almost vomited, nothing like a normal salad that you d order. Chicken lasagna was okay, just weird textures all together. If I could give no stars, I would. Highly DO NOT recommend this eatery.
Good place. Clean and inviting. The food was well seasoned and prepared and the service was good
Food is always good, but the acoustics suck. Its constantly too noisy no matter how many people are in there. Severely changes the atmosphere.
Service was a little bit slow but the food was absolutely phenomenal with a farm to table type of taste but a wonderful selection of funky salads and wonderful burgers and sandwiches perion very large and side very homey and nice type of feel all ages were there .
Great food, curry pot pie is delicious and they have a lot of tasty drinks. Trivia on fridays is always fun
Server was very friendly and helpful. Explained various selections clearly. Duck risotto was superb. Truffle Mac and cheese is to die for. Will definitely go back next time we visit Connecticut.
Excellent food and service. Waitress gave two great recommendations on beer and entree. Worth every penny.
This place is awesome! Good prices, large dishes and the employees are consistently super nice.
Food was great, went for a surprise birthday party and it went off without a hitch.
