a amazing place for families dealing with childhood illness.....
The staff here are so kind and helpful. The rooms are set up like hotel rooms. Two queen beds, desk, armoire and a TV. The house is spotless and has many different rooms throughout to be explored. Our favorite is the Lego room and the music room. Oh! Can't forget the giant stuffed animals in the library. This place keeps children's spirits up which they all need considering the reasons children and their families stay here. Keep up the amazing work!
Great place. Love to cook in kitchen. They do great work. Thanks for everything you do
Clean and well maintained facility. Friendly staff. Across the road from Children's hospital Ohio State University. Wheel chair accessible rooms with accessible bathroom. Secured Parking lot safely located. Free parking. Fully equipped, common kitchen with shared refrigerators and storage. Conveniently located for food with Panera one block away and other good restaurants within 0.5 miles.
We love this place! When stressed with drs and hospital with my grandson they lessen that stress. A very clean place!
Our Lions club made dinner so awesome to be of service to the families facing difficult times
They provide an excellent service for families with children who have cancer or other health issues.
This is a place that does amazing beautiful work. I pray none of you ever need their help and I pray all of you do something to help this worthy charity.
If you ever have the need, this is an amazing organization. Just humbling and awe inspiring people and giving. We give them all we can whenever we can and I ask you do the same thing.
Thank you.
Very kind people, helping to others, very clean rooms and environment.
Awesome place for families of children that are staying at Nationwide Children's Hospital and awesome for kids staying at the Ronald McDonald House
This is a wonderful place for family's who need a place to stay when there children are in the hospital
FYI wanted to buy 3 shakes at the Mc Donalds on Cemetery and Britton Parkway in Hilliard. As usual the shake machine is down. The RMH does great work. You guys are angels.
What an amazing place for children and their families!
I seriously cant say enough good for the entire experience!! The staff is amazing and they truly care about you and your family they provide just about anything you ever need! They really take a lot pressure of us parents. They provide 3 meals a day and have all the snacks your kids could ever need and they help keep your kiddos happy and busy while there with crafts and toys, games!
Nice place in a not so nice area. When we were leaving at 5 am, somebody was nodded out, in the driver seat of their running car, blocking the entrance to the parking lot.
Excellent place for a noble cause. Nicely maintained.
They care about the families needing a place to stay while their child is in the hospital. It is a great place for solitude or when you need to talk to others going through similar problems. Very clean and many activities.
So appreciative and thankful for everything they provide to families with children at Nationwide!
We love RMDHC! They have helped our family so many times. However, this house is absolutely horrible. We have stayed many times here and are very grateful. But the staff who are employed here DO NOT CARE about the sick children/Families.
Every time we have stayed not one staff member has been friendly. When coming into the house to check in your made to feel like your bothering them. If you need anything and come up to the desk your often left standing there helpless until someone acknowledges you so you can ask a question or ask for something.
Not one staff member has ever asked me how my child is doing or bothered to even say hello when you come in the door. So many times my children have tried to talk to the staff members and generally are just smiled at or completely ignored.
One time my oldest child had an emergency while we were staying there and I had to call 911. I was yelling asking for help and luckily a family heard me and helped. They went to the front desk and explained what was going on. The entire time we never once saw anyone who works there come check on us or lead the EMS to us. rather another house guest did. when i came back to the house a few hours later to get a few things not one of those same staff members asked me how my daughter was doing or asked what happened.
This last stay was the absolute worse. I can deal with rude unfriendly people. Our family of a 8 month old, 3 year old, Me, dad and the patient are not allowed to all stay there at once. When we were planning this last stay due to some very serious surgery our social worker reached out to the house and booked everything for us. We were told we needed to stay within 5 miles of the hospital ( we live 2 hours away) for the first 24 hours after discharge. We got discharged at 2pm. From 2pm it was Me, and the 3 kids resting in the room. At 7pm my husband (their dad) arrived. He brought dinner and we ate. At 8pm we were asked to meet in the office and were told we had to leave because our oldest had been discharged. several calls later from the hospital we got it all straightened out but were told only 4 people were allowed to stay. no where on any of the paperwork you sign there (even with house rules) does it say you can only have 4 people to a room. They said one of the children or an adult couldn't stay. Then they accused us of abusing their resources and taking up rooms. The house was currently very empty and we never eat their food because it isn't kid friendly or gluten free. Again the rudeness and unfriendliness was at its highest. We will be contacting who ever is in charge of that house and providing a very detailed report of everything that was said and what happened but we will NEVER STAY HERE... just look around the house.. you wont find it very full. there is never a waitlist, and you wont find very many children. ITs because they don't care for families!!!!
Great place to stay if you are from out of town and have a child at Children's Hospital.
I'm staying here now because my son is very sick. The staff at this place are very nice and helpful. The rooms are very nice and clean
Our church cooked dinner and baked cookies for the children and their family. We also sang songs with our minster playing the keyboards!
Amazing charity!! I love volunteering here with the most amazing people!!!!
Amazing place. Incredible what all they do for the families.
People are great, convenient to hospital, receive free meals which cuts down on the cost esp in the long-term stay
Excellent facility for families. Sometimes the staff is not very nice and uninformed. We appreciate what they do for our family and many others.
Can I give this place 10 Stars? Truly there is not enough that could be said for this organization. Especially this location. The staff is phenomenal and the different rooms and activities available for the families are unbelievable. The companies who come in and volunteer their time to provide and serve meals are phenomenal.
Good place the best for charity? For me yes for others ! Wnknoon
Don't get me wrong but Ronald McDonald House is wonderful especially for the parents who have children in the hospital it's just right across the street but I'm afraid some people are not being considerate and bringing bed bugs the staff was kind of rude when it was brought to their attention I noticed that being clothed and only showing your eyes made it so much more easier for someone to hide being bit by bed bugs and being a carrier so it's a religious thing but don't be selfish and bring Critters to a place like that there's the chance of it getting to the hospital and becoming a real problem
If I could give this place 0 I would! We have stayed at so many RMDH all over and we just don t understand this place. There are never any kids running around it seems like and you visit all they play rooms and events and it s mostly all adults. They seem to really encourage you to stay away as a family unit. I wasn t allowed to stay and help my wife last night due to their weird policy of 4 people to a room. We have a 5 year old with a terminal illness, 3 year old, and 8 month old. Our oldest just had major surgery again and they wanted us to stay within 5 miles and we live 2 hours away. We had no idea this policy even existed because I d it had we would have just had her stay another night in the hospital. No where on any paperwork you sign does it say this. They count a breastfeeding infant as a guest taking up a sleeping spot in the room. He sleeps in a pack n play/ crib that we bring. So I had to either leave my wife with all three kids or we all had to head home disobeying doctors orders. When we called to let the md know what was going on even they called and were met with very rude comments and judgement. Accusing us of taking advantage of them and using their resources. We have been fortunate to donate what we can and give back when we can and have always left the place cleaner than how we found it. We will never opt to stay here again which is really sad because that means my baby who didn t chose to be sick won t see her family as much when she is at her worst. All our daughter wants is to be with both her mom and dad and her siblings. Terrible to ask us to risk her life to keep her family together.
Shame on you RMDH Columbus.
While we stayed there the people that run it are very rude I wouldn't recommend donating to this place where its not a equal opportunity place sadly but true
Great place for people who are visiting Nationwide children's hospital. We were there for baking volunteering and enjoying serving the community
I have never needed any services from this organization, but I know for a fact they help famlies that come from other locations with food and accomodations when their child is in Childrens Hospital. They have been in our community for years! Thank You for all the good deeds you do Ronald McDonald House! God bless the famlies who need your services.
A great place. Staff are very helpful and very nice. This is a great service fornoarents when their children have to be at the hospital
Volunteered there and toured the space which is amazing. So much done there to keep families comfortable
They have helped us so much through our journey with our baby boy we have had to make quick trips to the hospital than have to stay for a week and forget socks and stuff and the nice people helped us out with a few pairs during our stay
Wonderful place. A huge blessing for people with loved ones in the hospital at Children's Hospital in Columbus. The rooms are super nice. There is food provided for every meal, even if it's just fruit and oatmeal packets. Most days a business or company will volunteer for meals and what they fix is terrific. My only complaint in this otherwise wonderful establishment is that they won't let you take food out of the building. This is a really rough situation when you have a spouse who won't leave the side of the person in the hospital room. Hopefully one day they'll relax that rule. There's all kinds of fun rooms for people of all ages, from a Lego room to a music room to a nice weight room. This place is simply tremendous.
Nice place were so helpful when my daughter went thru surgery
They do amazing work for the community and children.
They were very welcoming, like a home away from home. My son loved playing with the trains in the toy room, and I really enjoyed the library. I appreciated the free lunch, unfortunately I could only eat the watermelon as everything else provided contained pork. The volunteers were very cheerful.
Best place to get some rest when a loved one is in the hospital
Served breakfast with my church. They gave us a tour of the facility and everyone including the staff were nice.
They do amazing things here! Volunteer if you ever get the chance!
This place is amazing. They have went above and beyond for my family over the last 2 months and for the months to come
Very helpful when in time of need really opened my eyes for charity's
The place to stay when home is not an option . Clean, friendly , staff and volunteers know you and your family by name . The rooms are equipped with needs , comfortable , many activities . Thanks for being there for us
Great place to volunteer. They help so many children and families get through the toughest of times.
Very good place to volunteer, to serve meals
To children family's Who are there for medical service's they where unable to get at other Location's.
I had a lot of fun. My school made cookies and brownies. My school's name is Life Skills High School of Columbus North.
We stayed at the RMDH for three days during our visit to Nationwide. I cannot say enough how grateful we are and how blown away we were with this place. The staff was welcoming and it was a super convenient walk to the hospital. The rooms are very much like a hotel and the meals were pretty good. My daughter loved the outdoor play area and all the extra rooms (princess room, Lego room) are such a nice touch.
When your child is sick, it is such a wonderful thing to have a sense of normalcy and fun in between appointments.
Amazing first time to see this treasure in Columbus. Wonderful people helping other wonderful people who are in need. Children are loved here. I have lived here most of my life and so glad to have been toured around inside and out!
Absolutely amazing! They have helped our family out tremendously! For the most part they have a great staff! Great accommodations! I love the beds! I really want one in my home!! They have helped with not only long term stays but also on the times we have had several appointments in one day. Quite a few things to keep you and family occupied and distracted from problems at hand if needed. Lego room is a lego fanatics dream! They have a movie room, workout area, pool tables, a princess room, play room, music room, a lactation room which definitely came in handy! Thank you ronald mcdonald for that! They also have an out door play area that has a splash pad for your littles to keep cool. Definitely would recommend! Just an fyi they do background checks (thank you), and they enforce their rules, i.e. no food or drink (except water) in the room. With a few exceptions if needed. I always feel a bit guilty when leaving because i can't donate, but i always bring a bag of pop tabs to drop off. When we have the money, they definitely will be getting a donation! I can't thank Ronald Mcdonald house of central Ohio enough!
Definitely top notch when it comes to aiding Nationwide Children' Hospital Patients and their families, so thankful for their help, and support
The Ronald McDonald house is a grate place for sick children my nefews boy was in there they helped him out a lot on throphy and houseing for them to it is a grate place
Such a place of peace and friendship. The staff is warm and inviting. A beautiful safe haven for families of sick children. Join others in the community by volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house!
This is a very nice facility which provides much needed help to families. The staff is courteous and helpful.
Very supportive and is helping us through the hardship of having our baby in children's. We cannot describe how much this company means to us and has took the stress of having to drive from a hour away each way every day to see our child. Thank you all that have contributed and made this place a possibility.
They have made every thoughtful detail you can imagine to make kids and families comfortable. Clean, neat, creative and fun. Kind staff, good security. Laundry facilities. Princess room, Lego room, media room, kids play room, large dinning room with meals served 2-3x day for free. Beautiful outside play space. Truly magical.
We stay here when we have appointments. We come from 3 hours away and back to back appointments keep us there for 24 hours. Staff is wonderful and the facility is clean.
This is just a great charity for great causes. The house is pretty awesome and the staff are kind and helpful.
What a blessing this place is! My daughter had her baby at 24 weeks. We live rather far away...without Ronald McDonald House she would be unable to see her little guy daily. Due to the blessing of being accepted and given a room, she is able to spend many hours daily without worrying about cost or travel restictions.
very nice. friendly staff. serves way more families than I thought possible.
This place has been such a blessing to my family! Everyone is so sweet and generous. They truly made a very difficult experience much easier on our family and we will forever be grateful!
RMDH is truly a amazing charity and really helps those in need and allows them to be close to their love ones across the street a Children s hospital. As soon as my son is healthy we will be hosting a community event o raise money for them back home
I volunteer to bake cookies here to give back to my local community. This is my 2nd year doing this. 100% Great place.
