I stayed at RMHC from Monday night thru Sunday morning after my 5 yr old grandson's surgery. It was such a blessing to be able to sleep across the street. Gunner could see the RMHC from his room. The staff and volunteers were all wonderful!! The room was great!! I ate breakfast a couple times and lunch once while there. Thanks so much for the different groups who came in to serve. What an awesome experience. My grandson loved the daily little gifts that I took him from the donated items. He LOVED the Caitlin's Smiles crafts! Thank you to everyone involved with running RMHC!!

Terrible place. We stayed there when my daughter was born and they are very rude. If people don't match up to their expectations they lash out at you and disrespect you and look at you like you are lower than them. My boyfriend stayed the first time and he had a record and then the second time they called him a criminal and whispered about my family to one another while I was standing right there. They said he wasn't allowed to be on the premises and said if he was a good citizen he wouldn't be on probation. Everyone has their flaws come on now. We also got bit while sleeping there so I believe they have some type of bed bug or something. I had to super clean my house when we got home because we started getting bit while we were sleeping ever since we brought our stuff back from the Ronald McDonald house. I highly recommend you stay away from this place. Despicable people. Disgusting attitudes. Dumb rules.

This places is an amazing blessing for families like ours who drive from across the country to see the best specialists for our special needs kid. It's great knowing we can just walk across the street for all the testing and surgeries. One caretaker can run get a shower or nap and get a free meal or snack while the other stays at the hospital.
Rooms are comfortable and most meals are provided by local volunteers and they only ask $20 per night I believe. There is free laundry available and plenty of playrooms and activities. It's also a great place to meet other kids and families struggling like your own.
It can be a bit loud and echo-ey since there is no carpet and doors tend to slam if you aren't mindful.

I briefly visited Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio on 11-4-2017 while on my way home from having attended an all-day "Living With Epilepsy" seminar that had been held that day at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
One of the many groups with which I am involved, Central Ohio United Non-Theists [COUNT] regularly volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.
The premise of COUNT is that one does not have to "believe in" a "God" in order to want to help others. In addition to having meetings at which various topics are discussed, COUNT regularly volunteers at several different Central Ohio locations.

VERY nice staff, clean and safe environment, good food, nice clothing and toy donations, conveniently across the street from Children's Hospital, etc. Very glad I donated to this establishment because we had to use it when our daughter was hospitalized for weeks. Bless you and Thank you! I will keep donating to them. They help so many people.

This is a great place rite across from the hospital. The only thing I would complain about is the no food on your room as an adult you should know to clean your mess and your childs mess.. They say no housekeeping but they will come in your room and check and see if it's clean and if it's food in it.. That is going against what you said about someone entering my room.. Some of the staff at the front desk are rude.

This place is wonderful for temporary patients but for lifers like my family they aren't so willing to help. My family it's being forced out today after our son spent almost 3 months as an inpatient, he was released New year's eve. He had dialysis this morning and has appointments Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. That doesn't matter to them though. All that matters is that he's no longer an inpatient at children's.

I was not impressed with this place at all. The workers at the desk are extremely rude and disrespectful. When you ask for something they act annoyed that they have to actually work and do their job. They just sit on their butts and have a social hour all day and do nothing else. they definitely need new people working the desk that are actually friendly because that is not a place for rude people, the people staying there are going through a hard time and don t need to be dealing with that everyday!

My family and I will be eternally grateful for the hospitality of this beautiful foundation. I never believed that a house could exist as it is and with so much human warmth of a united family. My nephew was transferred when he was born only 5 months of gestation to the Nationwide children hospital and they have saved his life ... it is a miracle of God! Today he is 4 months old and continues to fight for his life and faced his hydrocephalus as a warrior. Stories how are you many has that house of Ronald McDonald ... and these are the moments when you realize that we are not alone in the face of family adversities

READ THIS: ok, so i know there are a lot of reviews but mine is the best. first thing is EVERYTHING IS FREE other than the gift shop. they have free passes to COSI which is an amazing museum and they have free passes to lego land columbus. they have a little tree house thing, the staff is amazing. i had to stay here for 10 days because of my condition and the staff was great. they have tons of fun stuff for kids (im 12 so i think i have a good judgement) they have a work room with computers. its also across the street from the hospital. to me, its just amazing how it costs you no money to stay at this wonderful place. what a blessing from God. they have an arcade with a pool table and xbox and wii, they have a lego room, they have a music room, great cafeteria food with volunteers, a library, and many other things.

My daughter, son-in-law was fortunate enough to be approved to stay while my 1 day old grandson was admitted for heart surgery. My daughter was eaten up by bed bugs!!! (They did inform the desk) Don't know what needs to be done but this is disrespectful to the heritage this stands for and VERY UPSETTING for our family. They now have to travel 2 hours one way just to see their critically ill baby. Shameful

My child was on a liquid diet witch made it very hard for her to have to go sit in the dining room when other where eating breakfast, lunch and dinner food and all she could have was clear liquid. I found it very mean to do to a child. I had a empty Sprite bottle in my backpack. I put it in the trash and ended up getting wrote up for it being in the trash. They even left the note on the trash can!! The iceboxes are so full there was no room for our items. And when we found some room when I can back 4 hours later to get it, it was in the trash!!! At check in we found out it you have insurance it's not free or what you can donate they charge your insurance. We won't be staying and won't recommend the ronald McDonald house.

Stayed here recently and was really blown away. The staff was SO kind and welcoming. It was easy to check in and out. It was clean and Quite. Such a wonderful place! From the moment you arrive, the staff and volunteers at the RMH make your child feel special. There are activities daily and enough crafts/toys/books to keep the kids happy or days on end. We spent 11 days here and at the end, my child didn't want to leave! The best part was meeting the other families and seeing the children play and smile.
Walking distance to the hospital, a CVS, and a restaurant or two. Meals were provided everyday (I think almost every meal breakfast lunch and dinner something was offered). We were in one of the older rooms but it was comfortable and quiet. I can't wait to go home and volunteer at my local RMH. This house sets the bar very high. Splash pad, princess room, large playground, LEGO room, library, rooftop lounge...I can't thank th staff and volunteers enough. Getting medical care for your child out of state is stressful. Obviously you don't come here to treat the common cold. But staying at the RMH was the silver lining. And the care we received at Nationwide surpassed our expectations. Thank you!

This place use to be a good place till we were admitted again due to my daughters surgery. We were housed there for THREE MONTHS. They denied my husband for the past which has met there 5 year policy.
They do not care for the families in need, they "haven't had good donations in the past year" maybe you should have a foundation for a "business" before you start it!

My family and I have been staying at the Ronald Mc...
My family and I have been staying at the Ronald McDonald House since my daughter has been born and they have been wonderful to us except this past year because they have apparently upgraded and when they do background checks they go back to like 10 years ago now mind you i was on probation when my daughter was born and im not going to go into details but at the time they did the background checks it shows that i have different charges then what my court papers say but anyway according to the rules you won't be accepted if you are on probation however whenever my family and I have stayed i have always been on probation and ive told them that and they've told me its no problem now my daughter has serious health issues and it requires my family to travel to Columbus Ohio every few months and like half of America my family cant afford to stay in a hotel so we've always relied on the Ronald McDonald House. Now last year my wife received a phone call the day before we have to be in columbus telling her that her and my children can stay but i cant because i dont pass the background check and yes my wife got very angry and used some very colorful language which anyonr would if you get that call right before you have to travel anywho my wife explained my charges and they told her that didnt show up in their computer and to fax the papers showing what my charges were reduced to and if we did that then everything would be fine now that was a lie so my wife goes off and apparently we arent allowed there ever again so my wife calls the president or whoever to make a complaint and he calls the Ronald McDonald House to see what's going on and they tell him that we were loud and messy and we never cleaned our room and we never donated. Now all of those are lies except yes we never donated because we didnt have the money to donate and we were always told we didnt have to and it wasnt required so we never did. So this is just warning everyone because the Ronald McDonald House will lie on you so they dont get in trouble and i hope they see this cause ive been telling people everywhere not to donate cause they are a bunch of phonies

They make it possible for thousands of people to be able to feel a little comfort while enduring the hardship of a family who is going through something so life changing. They are amazing and so kind, while offer shelter a meal and even a ear to listen. Keep giving your pennies as you make you drive though a drive through they are put to good use.

They had no problem over money, putting my 2 month old sick daughter on the street. I doubt Ray Crock woulda been about this. Plus I've contacted the OSU football staff thru a connection and told them. I'm using my 80,000 Twitter followers to get this out there. My family has lost everything over my daughter being sick. We have help coming tomorrow. But because of OCCUPANCY, and I saw the sheet there's many many rooms empty, but that's what we're told. So they're having no prob putting a sick baby on street. Don't believe me, contact Lisa snow at Faith Mission in Columbus.
