*THE* place to see a movie in Eastern Suburbs. Comfortable venue, and prices from a past millennium, every day of the week. Sign up to their members program to get a free ticket, and $1 off every time! The bar is lovely, with a different beverage on happy hour every day. Order in a plastic cup to enjoy a drink with your film!

The beautiful building with lots of character makes going to watch a movie at The Ritz feel like a nostalgic experience. The customer service is great with friendly staff that are always willing to help. Finally, the prices are very reasonable and you don t feel you re being gauged. Highly recommended.

Randwick Ritz is the perfect local cinema. Small enough to still feel local, but also shows the latest movies at reasonable prices. I much prefer coming here than the cinema chains - makes it more of an experience than just 'going to see a movie'. Great atmosphere.

I went to the Ritz on the first week when the cinemas reopened and I ve been back many times since. The staff are exemplary and the retrospective screenings are terrific I hope they continue this even after the pandemic. I also appreciate the varied programming which includes foreign films and indie gems. This is not my local but the tram ride to Randwick is well worth the trip!

Small local cinema with all the latest flicks. Wouldn't go if you have a neck issue as the seating isn't eye level with the screen. Nostalgic of a ritzier era, clean and warm. Always popular with the local crowd!

Great art deco styled place.

Great art deco styled place.
The screen sits below you, so perhaps the last row isn't the best for viewing.

For some unexplained reason we were approached in the middle of a movie and asked if we were OK. I just feel like something had happened I was unaware of. Also, I didnt appreciate the pre warning of no loud munching. A little ridiculous and sadly didnt feel too welcome here.

Some great 'events' being run at the Ritz, getting almost as good as the Cremorne Orpheum ;) Last night packed house for Ab Fab movie with red carpet, champagne all round! The great staff managed a really hectic evening absolutely fabulously...of course.

I have been going to this cinema since I was a kid, now 27 years old and still going back! You can't beat their prices for movie tickets or combo popcorn deals. Beautiful old building. They are doing lots of older movies at the moment also, Nice to see on the big screen :)

My daughter is writing a review of Hoyts, which she loves, but just thought I'd add a few words for an independent cinema which is far and away superior in both atmosphere and price. I can take two kids to a movie there and walk away with change from $40, when I often seem to be paying more than $60 at Hoyts. The cafe is actually reasonable in both quality and price too, so I don't mind buying the kids some popcorn. Gorgeous old fashioned theatre atmosphere as well.

Beautiful cinema, saw Star Wars 8 there, great seats (unreserved)

They have delicious home-made choc-tops, we had the boysenberry and golden daytime flavour, really delicious but a bit expensive.
Cinema tickets are a good price though $14 each for students.

Great experience overall

My favourite cinema in Sydney. It's in Randwick and I am in Redfern, but I still go there to watch movies. You can find all new releases, themed festivals and retrospectives. Plus, it features a quite relaxed environment and it there are many restaurants to choose from around it.

Mike Walsh OAM is a well-known Australian television personality who has had a long career in media spanning over five decades. He has been involved with many successful television shows including "The Mike Walsh Show" which aired from 1973-1985.

Anne-Maree Collier has also had an impressive career working in various roles within the entertainment industry including producing live theatre productions such as "Les Miserables" and "Phantom of The Opera".

Together they have transformed Ritz cinemas into one of Sydney's most beloved cinemas while preserving its rich history through careful restoration work on its iconic Art Deco architecture.
