The BEST cinema for STUDENTS. If you are a student you can get AUD$6 ticket for any movie but it's only on MONDAY. Make sure to bring your student ID tho.

It's quite close to UNSW, so for those (UNSW students) who finished for the day can go to the cinema and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes walk.

Very disappointing, me, my wife and my wife's boyfriend came here to see the movie "cuck". However, when we were watching the movie, some paid actors came in and started firing their guns all over the place! I didn't here that this was a 4DX screening, and I was incredibly surprised and scared. I find guns extremely distressing and I had a panic attack, the worst I ever had since I heard Drumpf won the election. I think this is why we had to be escorted out, which was *so* embarrassing for us. 1/5 stars, wish I could give less.

If you are visiting an important historical cinema and meeting point for culture through generations. If you are a local it's rad support something that isn't a gratutious chain, catch a movie at a place your mum and dad had their first date or your future legacies will hopefully have theirs. Website is hot trash, like a grade 11 IT project that didn't pass, kick it old school and make some eye contact with the ticket booth, save yourself the online booking fee. extra stars for bringing Boots Riley's "Sorry To Bother You".

I used to go here as a child and it's managed to hold on to its retro theme whilst upgrading it's comfort and function. The two tier level cinemas allow for big crowds with excellent viewing from every seat. A fantastic snack counter will all your cinema treats including choc tops. Upstairs bar for the adults. Clean toilets. Friendly helpful staff. I've never had a problem parking here either.

Prices are cheaper than the major chains, and Tuesdays are a real bargain. They screen the same movies as the others. Another good thing is that seats aren't allocated so if you get in early you can pretty much sit where you like.
The location is also a bonus, being in the heart of Randwick's restaurant precinct "THE SPOT" there are also a few cafes to choose from for a before or after movie cuppa.

Great cinema. I'm a fan of old school films being shown in their true glory of millimetre film. The 1920s art deco aesthetic is a great throwback. The staff are great. The entire place is phenomenal. Definitely my favourite cinema. Everything is on point.

I love the Ritz. It's not only amazing value, especially when you want to take a bunch of kids! but it also has a great atmosphere.

I always check if a movie is showing there first and I'll go to another movie theatre only if I have to.

This old timey cinema in Randwick is the best. It can be tricky to park nearby, but it s worth it. The Art Deco interior is lovely, and the price is always right. Members get $10 tickets all the time and on Monday nights it s $6 (except for public holidays) for students with a student card. They often play cult classics, golden oldies, and movie marathons. The rocky road from the candy bar is the best ever!

Update. It seems the candy bar no longer make/serve the legendary rocky road, active parties feel free to start petitions to get it back ;)

Great art deco cinema. Reasonable prices compared to the other big chain cinemas. I just happen to go here as I was visiting friends in the area and we all decided to watch a movie. Wish there was such a great cinema close to where I live.

Love this art deco cinema! They're showing Dunkirk in 70mm which I'd love to see. An excellent old style cinema with one main screen and five other smaller screens. Become a member to get member screenings and get one free ticket.

Best cinema on Sydney. Inoffensively priced tickets and food including delicious choc tops, the Ritz retains art Deco charm while still being a modern facility. It's also licenced for the whole venue, so hello wine and 40 winks during the films second act.

Great cinema with reasonably priced tickets. Food is affordable and they make their own choctops in a few different flavours. Can take the whole family to see the latest flicks without draining your bank account.

This is my favourite cinema. It's a classic type of cinema and very cosy. The prices are really cheap especially on a Tuesday night. Get a membership for $15 and along with that comes free ticket and a $10 rate for your guest. The next time you go for a movie it is going to be $10 for you and your guest. There are also so many cafes and restaurants around if you want to eat before or after the movie.

One of the only 70mm ready cinemas on the planet. Lots of quality events with real movies. My girlfriend and i saw the Hateful 8 premier there and she was thrilled to meet Quentin Tarantino himself sitting on the seat next to her on the other side of the isle. If you love real film then do yourself a favour, visit The Ritz!

A wonderful cinema experience.

A wonderful cinema experience.
This amazing deco period building still maintains its charm.
The service is great and the staff were refreshingly friendly.

There is even a Dress Circle of seating... at the cinema = mind blown!

As well as blockbusters, they show film festival releases, plus 35mm and 70mm prints.

Three can't be many places left that show reel film anymore.

Please don't expect a mega cinema complex, the likes of thethemes houses.
This family owned business still retains charm, class and charisma.

Been coming to this cinema for 20 years. It is my home away from home. I love that it is local and not a chain. It remains affordable. I love that they show a range of films including classics. This is a true gem.

its has a good 30s theme to the place. The food is much cheaper than surrounding cinemas and it has very cheap tickets. When im on a budget i come here for the latest cinema experienced. Its a good place to be but if im going to be honest its a bit rundown and its not the bst seats. if you want a really good cinema experience go to either Hoyts or event

Good choice of movies with some non-main stream ones. A popular place for seniors and the younger audience. There are regular events such as girls night out etc. The theatres are fairly small but there are no recliners like in other places. Seats are unallocated. Parking may also be an issue.

Mike Walsh OAM is a well-known Australian television personality who has had a long career in media spanning over five decades. He has been involved with many successful television shows including "The Mike Walsh Show" which aired from 1973-1985.

Anne-Maree Collier has also had an impressive career working in various roles within the entertainment industry including producing live theatre productions such as "Les Miserables" and "Phantom of The Opera".

Together they have transformed Ritz cinemas into one of Sydney's most beloved cinemas while preserving its rich history through careful restoration work on its iconic Art Deco architecture.
