I love the Ritz cinema. Just saw the Film The Lion Returns. Fabulous movie, a must view, especially if possible in high schools and to encourage discussion about the messages the Film conveys. Splendid. Pearlie

I absolutely love this place. Its a local institution. I love the variety of movies, and the staff are friendly. I got to see Renee Zellweger there, an amazing night. My only negative, is the seats. With the other local cinemas, all having leather recliners. It makes these seats even more uncomfortable and small and cramped, it turns me off going. And I don't want it to because I love this place, especially the bar upstairs. Still giving it 5 stars though.

Today there was a sensory screening for children with additional needs. The layout was inappropriate as they had a podium towards the screen. Very dangerous additional children were climbing and stepping off. What was most disappointing was the manager sent a staffer to tell all parents to remove their kids from the area. I explained to her that these kids have additional needs and cannot simply 'Stat away'!. No reply other than see the 'manager'. What a disgrace. They took everyone's money and made no effort to accommodate . Never again.

Cinema rooms are small, so it might not be the best place for movies with special visual effects (such as action movies)
The bottled water is priced at $6 or $8, way to much!

In my opinion, it is a good option for those who prefer small theater room ( for romantic movies perhaps)

Ritz is a very great place to go see a movie. with the prices of the tickets being low it makes it easier to have a couple of friends come along. the maxi combo that they see at the food area is good priced but would probably need more with it. the seats are good and the movies they play are amazing

I love my nearby cinema. It's handy and has many varieties in movies and always shows classics as well. I had been coming since 1989, in that time when it was old fashionable beautiful, you felt like in the 1960s because they kept all the old furniture, sort of english colony. Today it just a little theatre that got restored into a small Hoyts. Still, love it!

A good price to see a movie at the cinema compared to the other cinemas like hoyts. You also get to pick where you sit unlike other cinemas and there is a lot less people in the cinema. The food is also cheaper as well. The only thing this cinema doesn't have that other big cinemas have is reclined seats, but otherwise the Ritz cinema is great.

Old style cinema that is amazing. Ticket prices are very reasonable and the food and snack prices will blow any other cinema out of the park.

Coupled with friendly service and great staff this is my favourite cinema in Sydney.

One of my favourite cinemas with good ticket prices. The candy bar is the best with great combo deals and great value for money. A very clean cinema and it has its own bar which is a really nice space.

The Ritz Cinema at The Spot in Randwick has a really nice old-time atmosphere and vibe. You can either book tickets online or line up at the box office. However the tickets don't give you a reserved seat like Hoyts and Greater Union so you need to line up before the movie like old times and sit wherever you like. The seats definitely need an upgrade and aren t very comfortable. There is a bar upstairs which is really cool.

This cinema is just a treat and it s why I always come back. The Art Deco architecture is absolutely endearing. Comfortable seating and even a second level balcony in the main theatre. This year, I ve enjoyed 2 x Friday the 13th marathons in this simply luxurious cinema

Classic feel, classic prices, Modern screens. This is the best place to see a movie in the east, hands down! Plus, they screen other older great movies, not just the new michel bay explodoramas.

Great cinema with character. Has the flair of a past time giving a great feeling when watching a movie here. Sure, not the fanciest chairs like some of the bigger movies, though this is not what you come here for.
Ticket prices are also on the better side, always nice to come here with the family.

Always a great place for me. Convenient and easy to get to with transport really close by and shops nearby. Watching movies at a cheaper price compared to other cinemas and it is totally worth it.

I absolutely love the old school ambience, the building looks so beautiful as well, it feels like an actual cinema rather than just some shiny corporate building.

The screening room is a bit smaller than other big cinema chains, but Ritz is still by far my favourite cinema place. They also play old movies as well, so it's not always just the newest movies showing.

They're a cinema with a sense of genuineness and heart, that you won't find at other cinema chains.

Great prices (10 dollar member tickets it costs the price of a normal ticket to get the membership and the membership gives you one free movie ticket. Membership is free) as well as a great experience. I've been going to the ritz since I was 10 years old. The experiences are just what you would expect when going to a cinema such as the smell of popcorn.

Love this local icon, probably my favourite cinema in Sydney. The great Art Deco style adds to the glam of a night out at the movies. Staff are very good and the movie club offering makes regular attendance more affordable. The Ritz also makes a habit of special showings for classics in particular formats, and movie events or festivals. Heaps of good food in the area too-makes a teriffic location for sneaky mid week date nights as well as weekend outings.

Whilst I didn't see a flick, I had a lovely couple of wines here while waiting to get into a restaurant further along The Spot. It was nice and cool, atmospheric and quiet enough to have a conversation. On a hot summer night this was much more appealing than any of the other bars on the strip. The balcony was lovely too - but I preferred the air con on this hot hot evening. Great place for a pre dinner drink. Will comment about the cinema part another time.

PATHETIC management. Not willing to assist accommodating less than half an hour for any area for our son and 11 other friends of his to be given cupcakes. We're willing to pay (it's not like we're asking for FREE). Their excuses were "it's already after hour"... Well, what do you expect when you put the movie for their age at later time on the day? We have always support this cinema but NO more... It's not like they're any cheaper than other cinemas. Regret for wasting our money for 15 (already booked) tickets this Sunday. It wont be long before your cinema become just a piece of history for your non accommodating attitude towards loyal customers...

Great movie White Crow

Great movie White Crow
Depicts the difficulties of Rudolf Nureyev and his defection into France
Nice interpretation however may not be easy to follow if one was not a ballet buff

Of course there was a lot more to Nureyev than what could be displayed in this version

Some throw back to Nureyev himself would have added flavour

This is a fabulous cinema. Kind of old school, I think it's independent. Tickets are cheap, they do great deals. They even have a bar so you can buy wine or beer to take into the movie. There are also lots of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Parking isn't always great. I love it.
