It was our 1st time here..we saw this place on the food network with Guy Fiery.and thought que would give it a try..we walked in the place was packed only 2 tables available one was in the middle the other by the door. and was told there was 2 tables left but the one table in the middle was on reserved.. where I come from I always figured 1st come 1st served.i mean come on 1table reserved..Here I was a paying customer 1st time coming here and my 1st experience was wow really ...and so we sat at the Bar the bar was too high the chairs too low and they only have 1 toilet for men and 1 toilet for women place is very small...but the food was Awesome just my 1st time experience was not good overall...

Very lively! Not where you come for a quiet dinner. Music is jamming, impromptu dancing, friendly staff and great food. My wife had the mofongo and I had the orcovis (fried pork) with rice and plantains. They also randomly pass out free margaritas and tequila. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Arrived right before they closed after lunch, so place was empty; apart from a hand full of people. Waitress was great, very accommodating and friendly. Food and drink was good, just not great. Guess I might have had very high expectations or I just need to realize that PR food cooked outside the island just can t compare... Presentation was fantastic though. Will visit again when the place is more lively.

The food and drinks are absolutely phenomenal....however the staff is super slow and some are not very familiar with the dishes, for instance didn't know the difference between "Arrroz manposteao" and regular "arrow con gandules".
When the music is on, either DJ or live, it is extremely loud For the small place. Most importantly the prices are outrageous especially for the area it is in. But still very good food

Went there for the first time because of the 4.7 review and and wanted Cuban/Puerto Rican food and must say I was very disappointed.

Pros:
Clean place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Cons:
Ordered fried yucas and it looked good and fresh until I took a bite. The yuca has so much oil coming out of it but since it has been a long time since I had Yucas, I continued eating the side I ordered with my partner. It was her first time at a Cuban restaurant and never had fried Yucas. She also mentioned that it had a lot of oil. I couldn t finish it so we put it aside. Then we got the tostones as another side and they too were oily and grease. Soon after, I got my fried pork, white rice and black beans. Took one bite and been Spanish and know what Spanish food is supposed to taste like, this was the most tasteless food I have ever tasted at a Spanish place. Rice tasted like they just added water and that s it. The black beans had no flavor. It just tasted like beans and water. I put a bit of salt and pepper to see if I could get a little flavor but that didn t help and didn t eat it. The fried pork looked and felt very hard and like it was re-fried from left over because I couldn t bite it because it was super dried and hard. I drank more water than actually eat their food. After paying the bill and asking for a to go plate, my partner and I continued to talk for a little bit and then I had to use the bathroom because my stomach wasn t feeling good and to my partner that eating the oily yucas and fried plantains had an effect on me. Stayed and used the bathroom for about 5 minutes and came out wasn t feeling good. The staff at the bar kept looking at me cuz I didn t look good. I told my partner that we needed to go. Grabbed my to go plate but as we were walking toward the exit, I turned around and gave the to go plate back to our waitress and told her that the greasy and oily yucas and plantains, tasteless rice and beans as well as old and super hard fried pork chunks didn t go well and that she could keep my to go plate and exit the venue.

I don t know if I was the unlucky one but these reviews are deceiving and spent a bit on food that is probably worth half the price they charge.

In my own opinion, save yourself from a bad experience like mine and go somewhere else that actually have flavor on their food and do not fried bath their yucas, tostones, and fried pork and get you sick.

At least we now know where NOT to go. Not the experience I wanted for my partner. Im so ashamed for bringing my partner here and disappointed that a supposed Spanish place taste like non-Spanish food. Nov 24, 2018 (4:30p). F.S.

This was my first visit and I was very impressed. There were 9 of us for an office party and they'd put tables together for us including candles, making for a very cozy setting. The waitress did great fielding all our questions, offering suggestions. They weren't very busy so she was able to give us plenty of attention. I will definitely be back.

The food was amazing. We ordered Caribbean Nachos and Chuleta Kan-kan and 2 virgin pina coladas. ***Note: We arrived at 6pm; coincidentally during happy hour. We were lucky enough to grab the last seat. Everyone else who walked in after us ended up leaving due go the long wait. Even the bar was full! Seats cleared after 7pm***

I saw this restaurant on Triple D w Guy Fiery. The pork dish Guy ate looked wonderful n a friend n I were excited to go. We had a prickly pear margarita while we were waiting for our table n it was very good. So glad we made reservations. When our food arrived it looked NOTHING like the dish we d seen on the show. I certainly don t think Guy would have enjoyed what we were served. We sure didn t. We ordered a second margarita n it was soooo sweet we sent it back.
The staff was friendly n the restaurant is a fun lively place. But we will not go back.

Coquito was delicious. Amarillos as well. But I have to say that the rice tasted flavorless and boxed. (I'd say that's what ruined my experience since I'm so big on arroz con gandules:( ) The penir was good as well just a little bland for my taste. But I like things w a lot of flavor. Overall great customer service experience. I think I'd go back for drinks and maybe some starters.

2nd visit: Definite wait time but what do you expect for a popular place on a Friday afternoon? Worth it for the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Ordered the large Caribbean nachos with churrasco steak. Definite recommendation...will come back again to sample other menu items.

Delicious Puerto Rican food here. Very rare to find a place like this. I think it's a club/bar though because I usually go here for lunch and it seems set up to be lively at night.Definitely go if you're looking for lunch.

If I could give more than five stars I would. This place is incredible clean super authentic, staff is very friendly and patient. The wait time can be a little long but it is worth it. Drinks can vary depending on who makes em, sometimes the pour is heavy, sometimes it s a little weak, but all in all a great restaurant!

Delicious food, excellent service. I had the El San Juan sandwich which is similar to a Cuban, and the saltiness of the ham and salami, paired with the sweetness of sweet mashed plantain was wonderful. I also had a mojito that was the best I'd ever had. Looking forward to returning!

Service was good, food, not so much. Ordered the ropa vieja with white rice and black beans and an order of maduros and the bill was $20... for lunch! No drink. While looking through the menu, I could tell it hadn t been wiped down.

The white rice tasted like instant rice. The black beans were watered down. The ropa vieja had a flavor that, maybe I wasn t used to, but was not very appetizing to me.

Really had higher expectations for this place. I ll give it another try and order something different next time.
