I've been a few times and have really enjoyed this place. The homemade pasta is outrageously good, as is everything else. Try the calimari, which is cooked to perfection. Their fish dishes are great too. Don't expect huge portions but rather really high quality. The servers are also great. Good wine list and desserts.

This place simply knows how to please their clients. Constantly with a very welcoming attitude. The food is reasonably priced, always delightful and neat.
nice Italian place, meatballs are giid with a hint of sausage flavor, spaghetti is ok -, sword fish steak was a bit dry, but was favorable, sea food risoto was good.
I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could. We visited this restaurant with a very regular customer, where not only was she treated with blatant disregard, but the management handled the situation atrociously.
Requests to fix our meals were completely ignored until we eventually had to talk to a manager. When we addressed the waitress's tone to the female manager on duty, she dismissed us completely and took the side of the waitress. Myself, my boyfriend and our friend all witnessed this behaviour, however, 3 objective views of the situation did not warrant causality from this abhorrent manager.
She ensured that problems would be fixed, however, did not even come back to address the problems that occurred (we had asked for simple requests, but she did not follow through with filling them). Overall, the female manager was simply as bad as the waitress herself.
Worse, for all the disrespect we received tonight, the waitress herself was too "proud" to even address us again. We received no apologies for the behaviour or mistakes of that night from the waitress.
She could not own up to the fact she completely disrespected and embarrassed a customer who has been visiting this establishment for many years and giving the restaurant a lot of money. Our friend knows the owner of the restaurant quite well, and is extremely perturbed by the behaviour. To me, it is extremely odd that you would treat a repeat customer who frequents your business with this much refusal to admit wrongdoings.
Dining is an experience. It is not only the food that is crucial but, a pleasant dining environment is important at such an expensive place. However, be warned that if you go to Il Casale again and continue to fuel their business by repeat visits--you will be treated with blatant disregard.
Lousy scampi and pasta, both tasted rubbery and too chewy, the shrimp was flavorless too. The service was good though and for where it was I didn t expect much else.
Food was great! we had the hanger steak, nonna's meatballs, fried calamari, and arancini. The meatballs were amazing, the arancinis come with a tangy sweet sauce that I'd probably ask without next time. The reason for only 3 stars is because our server Cornelia was very impolite and unfriendly, and as much as presentation and atmosphere were great she dropped the ball.
The food was not bad, but was not great, or worth the price. To make matters worse, the hostess rushed my girlfriend and I out of out table on our anniversary. Not a great experience overall.
Went to dinner on Friday night, sat outside as it was a lovely evening. I had saved my gift card for a time I really wanted to relax and enjoy. First bad was being seated outside right next to their outside station which is in the alley way and all we could smell was a rotten drain. Then, being convinced to move from what I always have to eat there and to try their pea ravioli (love peas) which was so awful I ate one piece. The peas inside the ravioli were raw. While the drinks were great, everything else disappointed me so much. I usually love going there - I am still sooo disappointed. Even when my plate was cleared, and most of my meal was still on the plate, I was never asked how my dinner was. Our waiter was great in loading the drinks on, but other table cleaners were the ones refreshing everything. So sad, I won't be back in a hurry!!
I prefer this place a lot. It has a very special mood. The cuisine is splendid. the service is effective and the personel is polite. The price is modest. greatly recommend.
A favorite place. Exceptional service, wonderful, delicious food. I had calamari, great as always, and a small portion of my old standby, tagliatelle Bolognese. All I could eat. Just enough room for orange biscotti dipped in chocolate and a capacino.
We needed a drink and the new guys at Il Casale were SO accommodating (I think the management has changed - and it's WAY better). We had a great night in the COVID friendly space outside and they didn't rush us off at the end (which used to happen). So Impressed
I adore this venue very much. there is a different spirit. The cuisine is great. the service is dynamic and the stuff is trained. The pay is honest. I warmly recommend.
Really great food. Exceeded my expectations. I got the veal medallions and my boyfriend got the risotto. The bread and olive oil was great as well. All around great meal.
Always a great meal. I love their chicken parmesan. My wife had a ribeye that was fantastic. And the Negroni cocktails are spot on...the best we've had anywhere
Tried this place in the past with my friend and I am obsessed ever since. I like the fantastic mood and fresh dishes and beverages. Highly recommended.
Been in the area for 12+ years .Came here often and loved it . Last three trips, so disappointing. Service just rude tonight, i.e., kitchen closing so make it quick, then zero follow up after food . Just horrible for what it was .
I attended a wedding reception here. The space is an old two doored fire station in downtown Belmont. The open doors and patio were a delight on a July evening. Despite the challenge of a 150 head wedding, the food was well prepared and tasty. The ravioli with peaches was a delightful surprise. The chocolate torta for dessert is not to be missed.
Il casale has excelent food and service. I would highly reccomend! Servers are very professional and knowledgeable. This restaurant is definitely one of a kind and everyone should experience chef Dante's food.
Great service. The 4 course is great, we had 3 different appetizers, pasta, main course (two different dishes) and desert. The portion is too big for us, so we had to box the majority of our main course. Our waitress sang birthday song for my wife. Really appreciate that. Just make a reservation and let them know it's for birthday and they will prepare for you.
Walking into an Italian restaurant and hearing patrons speaking Italian is always a good sign. My hopes were high and il Casale did not dissapoint. The server was engaging, atmosphere charming, kitchen fast, and most importantly, the food was excellent.
Great atmosphere. Packed with diners on a Thursday evening. Attentive service who gave good advice on what to order. We split a pasta dish between four of us before ordering our entrees. A good way to try the pasta without eating too much.
il Casale is a perfect place for a fun, delicious night- all dishes will please you and your party. The service at il Casale is very good, though the wait time can be long and the atmosphere is fun and inviting, perfect for a dinner that is on the fancier side. Although great, il Casale isn t great for children- the kids menu is good, but the long wait will have children stirring in their seats.
Fantastic, family-owned Italian restaurant with excellent attention to detail in all aspects. Food was delicious. Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in town!
excellent attention, the pasta very good, but they should improve on the meats, the input meatballs were raw and not prepared at the moment, the fish was not fresh either
My fiance and I recently picked il Casale in Belmont Center to go to for a small celebration/gender reveal dinner with our parents and a couple of friends. My fiance made the reservation through American Express and was told it was fine to bring in cupcakes for the dessert. When I called to double check on the reservation I was told we would be charged $5 per person for a cake cutting fee for the cupcakes and they needed to know what the ingredients were and where the cupcakes were coming from (they were coming from a local bakery in town). The manager seemed a little aggravated on the phone by the inquiry. And although I wasn't happy with this, (especially given that I just wanted to bring in a few cupcakes), I understand that there are many restaurants who charge a cake cutting fee -- but fast forward to the dinner itself. Once everyone was seated, the server came around and asked a few people for their drink orders, but did not ask everyone at the table. Someone called her over and asked to place a few more drink orders, including a bottle of wine. I was never asked if I wanted a drink and did not want to bother the server again, so I wound up waiting until I placed my dinner order. The food itself was okay, but not great. And when it came time for dessert, when we were trying to arrange everything for this gender reveal moment, the server came and sort of slammed down the plates in front of everyone, but did not bring out silverware. Plus, there was an envelope with an ultrasound in it that went with the cupcakes, that was not brought back out, that we had to ask for back. Overall, I was just disappointed by the attitude of the server and manager because they both just seemed inconvenienced by our being there, and I was surprised by how we were treated, considering we picked this place to celebrate a special moment (and one you can't get back). (I also would like to add we did order dessert in addition to bringing the cupcakes). My overall experience from this night left me feeling pretty down about the whole celebration, and I really don't think I'll be going back...
The food was authentic Italian cuisine. Everything dish was fresh and flavorful. The service was impeccable. Our server (Angelo) was amazing. His knowledge of the menu was great but his recall and delivery of the various specials was as impressive as it was entertaining. (His accent...perfecto!) He new the perfect wine to suggest with only receiving a few hints from our party as to what wines they normally prefer. They cater to each individual to to provide the best and safest dining experience. Someone in our party has several food based allergies and they were able to accommodate her requests discreetly and deliciously. Although this was my first time eating here, we came on the recommendation or two others in our party who had dined her before. Absolutely a perfect night. Highly recommended!! No time for photos as I was enjoying myself too much.
Best. Pasta. Ever. We love this place! Feels like a taste of Spain! We especially love the fact that you can order half sized pasta dishes because you can order just half if you by super hungry or two halves if your indecisive. Would recommend.
Liked the ambiance even though I ve heard from friends and saw reviews it gets noisy. We went for early dinner it was not bad at all. Service was very good..waiter a tad pretentious but not uncommon for upscale restaurant. My wife loved the Aranchini, I thought it was OK a bit too dry. The pork meatballs phenomenal.. their sauce too sweet. The pesto ravioli the star of our meal...wow what a sauce. The blemish was the half too crunchy seafood risotto ...too subtlety flavored for my taste and not creamy enough. Oddly the bottom part was creamy maybe made in two batches? Anyway the greater disappointment was being told to expect salmon trout and crab legs and getting smoked salmon instead. The result bland risotto with a hit of starkly salted smoked salmon. Flavor not congruent at all. Server politely asked my opinion. To relay to Chef. They took it off the bill. My replacement sausage broccolini on homemade pasta was very good... pasta perfectly prepared subtle but harmonious flavorful sauce. Very good meal overall just expected better risotto from a place of its very good reputation.
Food was incredible, and I can't emphasize that enough. It made up for the completely horrible service that our waiter gave us. All of the servers were fantastic, but the waiter never made eye contact with us, would leave abruptly after pushing an item on the menu, and was only friendly towards the end when it was time to write out the tip. By that point it was so bad that it was amusing, so it did little to impact how nice the night was. Again, I do want to reiterate that every other person we encountered at the restaurant was fantastic. They more than made up for any lack of service given by our waiter. The other members of my party had been to the restaurant before and loved the service. It's worth giving it a try, and if the waiter happens to not be tip-top, just smile, grab another bottle of wine, and enjoy the delicious food.
We generally have a great experience here. Today was no exception. The food was awesome. Service was great as well. We enjoy going here and will go again.
This is a good Italian. The food was delicious and plentiful. We ordered a medely of appetizers including pork and beef meatballs and arancini balls for an appetizer. It was a generous portion of two each to share among three people, in our visit. My wife and mother in law had an assortment of delicious Italian dry whites to go with their meals. The wait staff was friendly, very informative and professional. Our waiter was Piedmontese and made sure the adjunct wait staff preformed to the highest standards. The room is stylish and open. For entrees we had scallops and rissotto, delicious, chicken parmesan, a simple pasta that was not on the menu but they gladly made for us, and a delicious Bolognese. The bread and olive oil were memorable too. Dessert was not a forte but we were so full and contented by then it hardly mattered. All in all a great experience and highly recommend. Oh and keep an eye out for Matt Damon who has family in Belmont and stops by on occasion. Lol.
This is not authentic Italian food. Unfortunately I had send my dish back. Didn't like the sauce. I can cook 100 times better with my eyes close. The tomato sauce is an offense to Italian food. You are NOT authentic sorry. Ah I forgot to say the service was horrible, the food came out 45 minutes after the appetizer. My honest opinion.
