Went here for Breakfast. We ordered Eggs Montoya which is two poached eggs on steak with hollandaise sauce. The eggs were hard cooked. The waitress brought us more eggs that were cooked the same. The eggs she brought came out in little ceramic dishes right from the microwave. Apparently the eggs are not poached as the menu states. The manager and waitress stated that this is the way the kitchen, with owners direction, prepare poached eggs. Maybe it's time they should poach the eggs in water or amend the menu description. So sad and what a missed opportunity for a good quality restaurant in Bowie. If you like Chef Mic(rowave) you'll love it here.

In recent years, they've updated the menu, with mixed success. I guess the idea is to be more contemporary, or maybe healthier.

But what Rips does best is comfort food, and they should stick to their knitting.

Service is usually pleasant, but not always accurate or efficient. The food is tasty, remembering what it is. Rips used to be more of a bargain, but with menu upgrades came less of a bargain.

But you could do worse.

When our kids were toung, they loved going to Rips.

My husband and I just visited Rip s in Bowie.8-8-2020 approx. 1:50 p m . I began by ordering a Mimosa and was asked to show my ID. I asked for the manager. I asked if all patrons ask for ID his response was yes. We are and look retired couple and you want my ID. So we left. My concerns are identity theft. I don t know what type of employees that have been hired. Don t think this is necessary for all patrons.

Austin is the best! He was not only professional and courteous, he was also very knowledgeable and a pleasure to speak with. The seafood platter was tasty and generous and it was nice that they allowed substitutes for fries and coleslaw. All protocols were followed from cleaning to masks to social distancing so we felt very safe dining there. Overall a great place.

Stopped in for a nightcap after a rained out 5 inning Baysox game one Saturday. We did not eat here so can't speak to its quality. Odd experience began with being told because there was a brunch buffet the next morning there were limited seats in the bar. I understand they need to set up for that but at 10:15 the night before it seemed an odd flex to treat us like interlopers and was off putting. The bar serivce itself was good, cocktails, beers and whiskey were good to very good. Not sure I would return for drinks again on a Saturday night if this is how they play it.

We are visiting from Seattle. Three individial recommendations from locals so we had to try it. Awesome. Had the crab ball appetizer and then fried chicken. Four thumbs up from my hubby and I.

Fixed there drinks and served them. I felt so low. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I WILL PASS THIS WORD.

I ordered liver n onions.it was horrible, asked not to over cook, like a little red. When served it was overcooked, dry, and not even warm.I asked for gravy on the side, do to so over cooked and dry. This didn't help. I didn't send back, which I should have an got something else. For sure, not worth $19.00. Years ago they had the best..It sure has changed.

First time here for Sunday brunch. Decent buffet nice horse themed ambiance. My next comment does not reflect my rating. They could have had an bottomless mimosas option to compete with others that offers the same. However, for $20 you really can't expect bottomless mimosas.

I have been a loyal customer of Rips since 2004. I usually go there to purchase industrial, artisanal and imported beer, wines and spirits (usually rum and American whiskey). Of course, when I need to buy wine by the case, I go to the wine superstore in another county. I must say that I resent being followed or watched when I am in the spirits section. This is off-putting enough to make me want to go elsewhere.

Rips has a wonderful selection of dishes you'd expect to find at an American Bistro style restaurant. A sizable selection of steaks, burgers, sandwiches, and seafood. They also have an attached deli with a complete menu of sandwiches and subs, and a full wine and spirits shop.

This a great place to eat! It was my first time experiencing the restaurant, and I was glad I made a reservation. I had the 'Fried Green Tomatoes,' and meatloaf entree. It was very good! I will certainly be going back to try something else. I highly recommend dinning here. The CS service was excellent, and the hostess was very nice and welcoming!

An interesting place, very Americana. Food was good, we went for lunch. I went for some of the local and southern fair: crab quesadilla, and fried green tomatoes. Crab quesadillas were good and had nice filling of crab. Green tomatoes were good also loved the goat cheese. My wife got turkey sandwich which she thought was ok (she thought the turkey did not have a lot of seasoning and was dry), but she loved the green beans! My daughter got Daddy Mac burger, the burger was cooked a little uneven but she like the Mac and cheese on top. We also shared a cup of the Maryland crab soup which was good. I also found a new hot sauce I like called Crystal s Louisiana. Service was fair.

Have eaten here many times, mainly lunch and dinner that was good but tried brunch there on a Sunday since I was not able to order ala carte and it was just ok. Omelette table was good but the pancakes and French toast were mostly cold and tough there were no plates at approximately 12:30 had to wait to get them. There was no Seafood variety and the friend I was dining with said she was there a few years ago and thought they had crab cakes. There were some of the other basic breakfast items like bacon, sausage, and pastries Etc

Very disappointed. We have gone to Rips for over 35 years. First they quit making the little muffins next you can only get a corn bread loaf. We asked for a slice of regular bread and were told that it would be an additional dollar. Then the food received was nowhere near the quality that we had always received.

The last time i was here I had a steak...which was good. Opted for the seafood platter. At 32 bucks, a little pricy...but worth it. I asked my waiter to check if was fresh and local, it is. Ordered it fried...also available as broiled. Lightly breaded in a seasoned panko, well-drained and not greasy. Menu paired it with fries and cole slaw but they happily allowed me to substitute those for mac and cheese(baked with shells) and cooked red cabbage(rich with blackstrap molasses and slightly spicy-sweet). Generous portions of 4 jumbo shrimp, 4 pieces of scallop, a portion of cod and a full size crab cake. Had my fill and took some home too! Yummy! Highly recommend.
