In a word - charming. This historic building will thrill you not only with its interesting history, but with its decor and high tea options. This Annapolis gem not only has a beautifully crafted menu, but has the decor and service to match its rustic and elegant ambiance. Highly recommend the fried brie as an entree, and please do ask for tea (even if you're not a tea drinker - it's an experience in itself!).

Had a reservation for 4pm on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate my best friend s upcoming wedding. We had to wait until 4:45pm to sit down because our table wasn t ready yet. Still, there was an entirely empty room with plenty of seating. We had also made the reservation the week before. We had to look at the menus standing up in the corridor so that when we sat down, we could order immediately. We had to rush through our tea because we had a later engagement we had to get to. My egg sandwich also had clumps of eggshell in it. I ordered the Buckingham Palace tea, but the Queen would be horrified to have her afternoon tea here!

My wife and I stopped on for a quick lunch before going to the Maryland State High School Championships at Navy-Marine Corp Memorial Stadium.

My wife ordered a burger medium well. I asked for a burger medium. My wife s burger was way too pink to be medium well and my burger was almost rare. I said said something to the server letting him know we didn t have time to get it done correctly but wanted it brought to their attention. He came back saying I told the chef . That was all. I the asked for a manager and shared the same complaint and lack of time to get a correct meal. So after receiving a $35 bill for two burgers and two soft drinks, the Manager, Mel took off one meal then went on to explain that he server did not put on the temperatures when he ordered the meal so that was the confusion. Mel, that is on you and your lack of training, not the customer. Both m wife and I left hungry but left without eating half of our burgers because they were so bad!

After moving back from living in England for a few years, we were excited to have a historic place where we could get afternoon tea close to home. We were especially excited about the outside domes right now during a pandemic. We made reservations for an afternoon tea with our two daughters (5 and 8) to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to see that they did not have any child friendly options for afternoon tea. They only had 2 decaf options, Earl Gray and breakfast. There was no peppermint tea or even hot chocolate. We decided on sprite, which they brought out in disposable cups. We asked if we could get tea cups for the girls to go with the tea party theme and since we were paying for an afternoon tea for them. The waitress told us that nothing but tea was allowed in the tea cups. After moving here from England this is the first we have ever heard of this rule! We then asked if we could have milk in tea cups for them since we were allowed to put milk in our tea, and we were again denied. We explained it was a tea party birthday party, but the waitress just ignored our request at that point. The sandwiches and scones were good, but we were not impressed with the customer service nor with the options to make it more of a child friendly tea party. The next time we want to do something special like that with our daughters we will go further to find a different teahouse. The whole experience just put a damper on my birthday party after we were so excited to find some thing we could do during February during a pandemic. We also got charged for the sprite, which seemed absolutely ridiculous since we never did get the tea that we paid for as part of the afternoon tea.

I've been here several times now. Each time it gets better and better. The menu is wonderful, the flavors are delightful, and the setting is everything you'd expect from a tavern dating back to 1747.

I absolutely love bringing people to the place George Washington was kicked out of. But, GOOD NIGHT this place is the absolute worst service in Annapolis. I love it, but it s so bad!! The food is great if you can get some! The craft beer is a great selection if you can get some. Anyways, we ordered a bottle of wine and it came with a wine stopper. See picture.

It s bad. New management is a necessity. Yikes.

Took my mother and five-year-old daughter for Afternoon Tea... It was fantastic! A little pricy, but the food ended up being enough to serve as our lunch. The dining room is small and a bit crowded, but gave it a nice "cozy" feel. Everything was delicious, and the service was top notch. We will definitely return!

Super cute tea house. The tea sandwiches were a great finger food for the toddler, goat cheese salad was delicious. Has a lot of breakable decor, so not the best option for little kids, but staff was very accommodating and three generations of our family had a lovely time.

I went there on a beautiful fall weekend afternoon. Their outside courtyard us a true hidden gem. An excellent beer selection as well as a very friendly, efficient staff make a visit there a great outdoor dining experience. We had the cream of crab and it was too shelf quality with lots of large, lumpncrab meat. A great go to for an outdoor afternoon.

Went for Afternoon Tea with a party of 4 on mother's day weekend. Showed up on time for our reservation that I made by phone and we were seated after a short wait. The tea was good, the service was good, everything came out quickly. The food was delicious and there was a ton of it. Would definitely recommend this place for tea!

My husband & I went yesterday with a group of 20 friends to experience one of their English afternoon teas. 1 star is for the tea & finger foods, which were delicious, & 1 star is for the friendly, helpful servers that waited on our group. However, the lack of 3 stars was for all the issues I encountered with the manager & the amount of miscommunication I received. We will not be returning to Reynolds Tavern for tea in the future. When I originally tried to book my reservation we had a group of 14 & I was told that if I brought at least 20, we'd be placed in a private room free of charge. But, any number under 20 would incur a fee for the room. So, we managed to pull together 22 people to get the private room, which was great. 3 days before our reservation, I sent a final headcount to The Tavern (now up to 24). However, 2 people got sick & felt it best not to contaminate the rest of the group & did not arrive. However, at the end of our reservation, I was presented with a $50 check to pay for the 2 sick individuals that we not in attendance. Nowhere in their paperwork does it state that you have to pay for any group members who do not arrive & I was furious. On top of that, when I booked the reservation I was told that the group could choose between the 3 House Blend teas, but when we walked in the door we were not given any option at all. Every table was automatically given a pot of English breakfast, but we had members in attendance that were pregnant & not drinking caffeine, so we had to ask for a second option that was herbal (which they nearly charged us for). None of this info is made clear on their website or reservation papers. In addition, when I booked the reservation, I was told that any number of people under 20 would incur a $12.50 charge for the room, but when I was sent official reservation paperwork, it said $15 per person. I really did not appreciate the miscommunication between the person doing reservations on the phone & the paperwork with conflicting information from the party planner. For a business that has been doing these teas for a while, it seemed like no one was on the same page or had any idea what was really policy. The party planner lied to my face, saying that she agreed to honor what I was told on the phone, but when I went back through the emails I'd received from her, there was no response or confirmation whatsoever. In the end, if you plan to bring a group, BEWARE - do not deviate from your final number AT ALL - you will be forced to pay extra for too few OR too many people! Absolutely ridiculous - I've never encountered such a policy at any other restaurants when group numbers shift by 1-2 (everyone else seems to understand that people can get sick sometimes). Thankfully, Tea on the Tiber in Ellicott City just reopened & they will once again be getting all our tea party business from here on out. Reynolds Tavern only seemed concerned with taking as much money from our group as possible.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Annapolis. Amazing tea served by the pot in a charming setting. Had some very good appetizers and snacks here as well. Definitely intend to have dinner here at some point.

Appetizers were delicious and beer selection was nice. Service was friendly. We went on a Tuesday evening when there was an Annapolis Shakespeare Company event with lots of guests getting dinner, so service was a little slow.

My sisters and I had the Afternoon Tea and it was wonderful! The service was excellent also. The room we we're in was decorated with lots of different tea pots and made for a really nice place to sit and chat. I can't wait to go again.

Have never dined inside, but rather on the back patio which is great. A much more casual atmosphere and they had a large Mario Kart setup out there when we visited. Good selection of drinks and reasonable pricing.

Really charming atmosphere and pretty great food. I had the Colonial High Tea with Orange Cranberry Scone and French Onion Soup. I was a little bummmed they did not have traditional clotted cream with the scones. The desserts were very good as well as the scone and the soup, I was slightly disappointed in the finger sandwiches. Overall, this is a cute little tavern and the tea was amazing! (I got a coconut and chocolate tea who's name i forget). Also they were wonderful with my friends 3 year old daughter!

This was the first time I have been to Reynolds Tavern. I would have to say you get a lot of food for a reasonable price. Everything was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The server was nice and very attentive to our needs. I will definitely be coming back to Reynokds Tavern for sure!!

Visited Reynolds Tavern for tea and found the atmosphere to be fascinating historically and certainly unique, but the wooden tables in the dining rooms are very small and unstable as are the chairs. The dining rooms are also very small, which is to be expected in an historic home, but there are too many tables and chairs, that make both movement through the rooms and seating very challenging.

The waitresses and the other patrons were constantly excusing themselves to avoid bumping into each other both as they were serving tables, seated at their tables, and as they attempted to move through the room.

Food was good, socially distant seating on the patio was lovely on a beautiful day in Annapolis. The service was a bit slow though especially considering there aren't many tables out there. Not the place to go if you have time constraints. Otherwise a good experience.

Enjoyed seeing The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged at the Reynolds Tavern. The performance was quite funny and entertaining. The shepherd's pie was ok, a bit salty. The chocolate heaven cake was delicious. The service was mediocre.

Let me start out by saying I actually do like this place. Whenever I have an out of town guest over I take them here for afternoon tea. The food is great (love the sweet tea and the baked brie), and I love the quaint nature of this place. However, I always warn my guests that the service is European... Meaning often very very slow. The reason for only giving 3 stars is not the slow service though, it's the lack of a changing table. I took my baby here today and had to change him twice. Since there was no changing table I had to ask my friend to help me by holding him while I changed him. The temperature in the restroom was extremely hot, so by the time we were done changing the baby we were dripping in sweat and covered in poop and pee. Not really the fancy afternoon tea experience we were hoping for. Please, invest in a changing table. You have enough room for one. I won't be coming back until you do.
