Alright, so my family (wife and parents) came out to try this place for the first time on 1/31/18. I got the chicken fingers with the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese and my folks got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. My wife got the veggie plate with potatoes, mac and cheese, apples and fries. We also shared the wings appetizer along with the chips and queso and finished with sharing the warm apple crumble. I have to say that by far this has been one of the best dining spots we ve been to in a long time! Everything tasted soooo good. I can t begin to tell you about the desert! It was huge and delicious to put it lightly. Definitely a new spot for us all. Thank you to the waitress who served us. You did a great job! Great spot!

Rick Tanner's is a local restaurant competing with all the franchise big boys. For everything that I enjoy about it, the only downside is the size. It's not a huge place, and they try and make sure to use of all the space. Maybe future locations will have a larger seating area. Now, on to the food... but wait the beer comes first. They have a great selection of proprietary beers, I'm not an expert on beer but I don't think you'll be disappointed. Their own brewery is Cherry Street, located right next store, and is sure to impress with the taste. The focal point of their food is the rotisserie chicken, slowly cooked to maintain moisture and infuse great flavor. I'm not saying you'd be disappointed by ordering something other than chicken, but its worth a try. The best part about Tanner's is that its not processed meals. Too often people order from the menu without consideration to the source, don't order BBQ when the restaurant doesn't have a smoker. Don't order turkey when there is no way that it was cooked there. I haven't had everything on the menu, but I'm confident you'll enjoy.

Excellent draft beer selection featuring locally brewed Cherry Street creations, fun atmosphere, and tasty food. I enjoyed the chicken lips egg rolls with queso and some yummy creamed spinach. My server Alex was charming and delightful, and a singular encouragement for a return visit to see that thousand-watt smile. Looking forward to trying the taproom next door.

Tanner's / Cherry Street Brewery has always made great beer (tho I missed the oktoberfest), and the food is still quite good. They have nice outdoor seating, very pleasant staff, and are practicing appropriate covid-19 recommendations, making this a enjoyable spot that doesn't get enough attention. Support your local businesses like this one!

Been here off and on it's always been terrible. It has been about 4 years since my last visit. Was in the area and stopped by and order Tanners Chicken Sandwich, again aulful. Chicken was tough and no flavor. This was my third and last visit to this place it's in the Vickery Village can't comment on the beer not much of a drinker but man worst lunch, I've had in long time. I was the one that wrote on your ticket. WON'T BE BACK - FYI

Went for my birthday and had a party of 16. Made a reservation and table was ready early on a Saturday at 4:30. I enjoy supporting local beer so this place is great. Our server Taylor was extremely attentive and the food selection was extensive and everyone was able to find something they enjoyed. I had a slab of ribs and the portion was huge and they were perfect. Their salads are great with a ton of meat selections. Of course I had to grab a growler from Cherry Street on the way out. I will definitely go out of my way to visit again and will recommend this place to others.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and the crowd wasn t bad. Overall, the seating, service and atmosphere was okay. Not much outside seating at the tap room so we ended up at the restaurant. The food was lack luster and cold when it arrived at our table. I remember the Tanners of DeKalb county fame and the flavor isn t here, just the name. If you live close and you re tired of the same old same old I d go. If it s a drive or you want something above average you might as well keep looking. I doubt if I d go back even if it was free.

My husband and I own Snowbird Mountains Brewery in Andrews, NC and stopped in for lunch and a beer. Our bartender, Scotty, was very knowledgeable of the beer/food and very customer-oriented....which we know is very important in this business. We also met Rebecca, a manager, who was very nice and thanked us for coming in. The beer and food were both exceptional and we plan to be back!

We drove to Vickery Village for the Trunk or treat event. When we arrived the line was wrapped around the parking lot. Our 11 year old has autism so he doesn't wait well. We decided to go get him French fries instead. We ordered and began eating. Our waiter, Jason, asked if we had gone over to get the candy. We explained the situation. He left our table to come back a little later with a whole to go box filled with candy. He ran over and got us some from the trunks! What an outstanding employee and human!

Wonderful service, great atmosphere, and even better food! My wife and I have been twice and plan on going more. Location is wonderful for date night or even a family night. The apple crisp desert was delicious and also the potato dippers are as the kids would say lit or fire .

Love the food. Hate the service. I've gotten to go probably 25 times and the order is frequently incorrect. My wife and I have laughed about it in the past. It's gotten so bad, I done think I'll go back.

There were three hostess when we walked in the door they just stared at as us, no greeting or anything. Super awkward. Today, they seemed overstaffed because there were tons of workers hanging out in the area socializing and not paying attention to anything. Rick Tanner himself was there today. After being seated, I ordered the French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. The French toast was THE WORST I have ever had in my life. They were cold, the middle was slightly undercooked and the edges were overcooked. I had to force myself to finish them. It tasted like straight bread. No flavor. The eggs were good. The bacon tasted like soap and was so burnt. I give it a two. One star because I was there to spend time with my boyfriend and one star for a worker there named Alec (highly recommend him). Also, it's extremely over priced.

Absolutely fabulous food, whatever you do - don t miss the Potato Dippers (cross between a French fry and a potato chip), they are beyond yummy. All 4 of us ordered different dishes and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was solid.

The only thing holding back a 5-star rating was the noise level - holy cow. We dined in on a Sunday night and it only took one loud child to make the noise level unbearable - we almost left! Please whoever owns the new halcyon location, install some acoustic panels, or get some rugs, or drapes!! Anything to dampen the echoing noise. Otherwise a fantastic experience.

Food is good. I heavily suggest the Chicken Lips. Chicken fingers are a little better than a fast food joint. Service was horrible but if you go with a giant group of people maybe uou will get more attention.

The favorite combo was not a favorite! I assumed since rick tanners was advertised as the home of the rotisserie chicken, that would be a safe bet. The chicken was dry and hard-I m sure it had been stuck in the oven for a few hours. The ribs, too, were dried out and totally inedible. Will not be returning.

Overpriced food that you could've gotten better food from McDonald's. We had chickens fingers and their chicken Rotisserie which suppose to be their most popular items according to our waitress Taylor.
both were so bad and tasteless. Service is very bad too.

First time I ve been to Rick Tanner s at Cherry Street. It has been years since I ve had this great home cooked type food and it was awesome! So happy to know that Rick and CT are still cooking!!! Thank you from an old employee and fan!

Have eaten here several times in the last few years. Tonight at about 8:30, I sat at the bar, asked for a beer and a take out menu. About 10 minutes later the bartender walked by and said "what's up" very rudely, instead of "how may I help you"? She definitely was in a bad mood and acted as she didn't want to be there. When my food arrived she slid the bill across the bar, not saying a word and walked away. Actually, I wanted one more beer before I left, but she didn't care. I paid and left, feeling disgusted about the poor attitude and service.
I visit Vickery frequently, as my daughter lives there in the neighborhood. I've always liked the food at Tanner's, but doubt I'll be back.

Oh my!! Kate was amazing. She came in the doors as we arrived and even before she clocked in she sat us at a table. We were thankful she was our waitress! Very attentive! Knew all about the beers! Beer drinkers delight! The food was over the top delicious! Highly recommend the chicken lips!

Delicious breakfast on the weekends. They also have some of the most delicious chicken "fingers" around - not to mention their partnership with local micro-brewery Cherry Street. Some of the best local beer around!

Really had a fun time here. Large menu and everything came out great. While the food is good, there are better options around. However, I give it 5 stars because the staff and atmosphere are wonderful. We showed up on Bingo night and ended up winning several times. (Also, doesn't hurt that they have a great brewery onsite.)

Hubs and I arrived at 5:30 on a Friday. It was busy but manageable. That said, the service is drastically lacking. It took the host / hostess a full 5 minutes to even acknowledge us, even though we were less than 2 ft away. Once we were seated, we were greeted and served quickly. Unfortunately from there, things went downhill. It was nearly impossible to get drinks refreshed and we basically had to wave a flag to place our dinner order. Don t get me wrong, the staff was trying. It was clear that leadership and / or proper management was lacking. Zero systems in place other than servers running around putting out fires. Food was okay but didn t garner a desire to return anytime soon. Kinda bummed because we thought this place was gonna be awesome. It has potential...just needs some serious organizational overhauling.

The smell of stale beer at breakfast. Service is great, food is good prices are reasonable. If you see a group of guys sitting at the big table in the back of the restaurant on Friday morning feel free to introduce yourself and join in on the conversation.

Went there for brunch. Plenty to choose from, very friendly staff. Food was great and at a good price. Looks like they have a very extensive beer menu, if it was later in the day we would have dabbled. Would come here again for an evening visit and sample a few jars

UPDATE: So, I decided to give RT restaurant (not t...

UPDATE: So, I decided to give RT restaurant (not the brewery side) another try this morning for breakfast. It was awful. Here's the breakdown. The first thing you notice when walking into a restaurant shouldn't be how incredibly greasy and slippery the floor is. It was disgustingly greasy. I ordered coffee which came out five minutes later barely warm. It took another 10 minutes and me asking where my coffee was for a normal cup to appear. I ordered the Country "Skillet" breakfast. It was probably the worst breakfast I've ever been served at a restaurant. First, it's supposed to be a skillet, that means HOT. It was a mixture of barely warm flavorless ground sausage, some potatoes, drowning in a watery gravy, two eggs (properly cooked), and then...unbelievably...topped with shredded cheddar cheese. Not melted cheddar cheese as every other breakfast skillet in the world, just a pile of plain shredded cheddar. I sent it back and got the veggy skillet. Again, not a skillet and just a mixture of some veggies, potatoes warmed up on a grill put on a plate (okay, a deep plate), and topped with two eggs. It was just edible. Now portion size of the "skillet". It was tiny. The smallest "skillet" breakfast I've ever had. And finally the service. Although my waitress was trying her best, the restaurant was so understaffed she never offered me a coffee refill and when I asked for jelly for my biscuit (which should have been brought out anyway), it took her 5 minutes to get it to me, by which time I'd eaten 3/4 of my biscuit and breakfast (another sign the restaurant was understaffed was the number of tables that needed cleaning). So in the end, I spent $17.40 (including tax and tip) for a tiny, mediocre breakfast, in a greasy understaffed restaurant. One final note. the brewery side of this business is a completely different story. The beer is outstanding and the service good.

Original review: Chicken fingers were very good and worth a solid four stars except three chicken fingers (2 large and one small) for over $8 is a terrible value..and the fries don't count since they cost next to nothing.

My son and husband like to eat here. However, do not order out. Only 1/2 of our take out order was given to us at the time I picked it up. When I realized that we didn't have what we ordered, I called and said that you can deliver the food to the house. The 16 miles round trip on them should be on Tanners for their lack of ability to complete the order. The manager said they don't deliver and that he would refund the money. So, 90 minutes into ordering, driving, and then realizing we don't have our food. I could have made a meal here at the house for less. Which is what I will be doing the next time someone suggests this restaurant.
