This is an incredible hidden gem that isn't usually on our rotation for dining out. The staff is so kind and not overly attentive, just the right amount of attention. The overall interior is cozy with the low lighting and vintage dining tables. It's not flashy or fancy and the vibe fits well with the menu.
The execution of the kitchen is very impressive! We cook a lot at home from scratch so I find it hard to dine out and not be disappointed by the food I've ordered. I personally really hate spending money out on food when I can make it better at home. The menu has some comfort staples and interesting twists on favorites. You have to try the spaghetti squash carbonara and the pork belly starters, they're both to die for! We ordered the duck breast and scallops main dishes (among other things) last night. The duck was cooked to perfection, rare/medium rare with the most perfect crispy skin I've had in a long time. The scallops were so tender, moist, and had zero grit. It was like butter, so smooth and delicate.
It's also very family friendly as we take our 6-month-old out with us everywhere (even bars for the rare night out with friends these days). The staff was more than happy to be accommodating and loved seeing a young face there. Caveat, it helps our LO is super easy going and doesn't fuss much, otherwise we wouldn't be taking her out so to not disturb other guests dining out.
As a girl who loves dining downtown at Good Luck, Lento, and the like (pre baby)... Richardson's is right up there with the food execution by the kitchen staff. It's dialed up comfort food and not disappointing in any way, shape, or form!
