We dined outside, it was a perfect summer evening. Food was great and good wine offering.

We eat here several times a year. The food is perfectly prepared and delicious! A nice Octoberfest-ish menu. We ate on the terrace next to the canal on a beautiful evening. Service is always good and knowledgeable.

It's the perfect place to enjoy a unique piece of history and fine food with excellent food.

Always a great place to sit and enjoy by the Erie canal.

Extremely slow service, understaffed, food was OK when it eventually came, nice view of canal.

We went in the summer and dining outside next to the canal was relaxing and refreshing. The food and service were great.

Outstanding service, delicious meal and spacious outdoor patio seating.

Unfortunately we only get here three times a year. The food and service are top notch. We particularly like the chartucarie platter, the lamb, and the scallops.

How does this old place stay open? Time for a redo. Refresh that menu. Update the bathrooms. Come into 2019!

Terrific food, great service, and very accommodating. You can choose to eat outside by the canal, inside at the pub, or in the formal dining rooms depending on how you feel.

Great food and service every time. Their New York strip is to die for.

Great restaurant, very nice atmosphere. My only complaint I have is that my salmon was not cooked all the way through half was cooked half was very soft and thin.

Been here many times and it's always outstanding. I gave them a generous 4 stars based on previous visits that have been a 5. I hope it was an off night for the staff, my asparagus was like warm and overcooked, table service was average.

Not inexpensive, but a great place to celebrate special occasions. Their rack of lamb is outstanding.

For the money the best around Rochester.... my husband had the porter house and said it was melt in your mouth with full flavor. I had the salmon that was amazing....we did indulge in the Creme' Brule to die for

The food is excellent. Dining outside is a pleasure when the weather is nice. However I don't need my server second-guessing our request for another appetizer because "there's still plenty of the first one left."

This kitchen knows what it's doing. The long time Austria owner has sold it. . . but to a former employee! The place continues to ROCK!

Very pleasant ambiance with outdoor seating. Food was largely good with a few weak dishes. The fancy black pepper fries were just fries. Not bad, but much more normal than expected.

Fantastic experience! Try to make it during Oktoberfest week... special menu! Great service that are polite, professional and attentive. Cozy atmosphere that is bigger than you think.
We had beef tenderloin and rack of lamb on our trip. Tender, delicious and prepared perfectly.
We will be back and will tell our friends.

Wonderful atmosphere, great service, great food. I've been several times this summer for lunch and dinner,, both inside and outside seating, and it has constantly been a great experience for all of us. Can't wait to go back

Lovely historic establishment on the banks of the Erie Canal.

Great food, and family atmosphere. Great opportunity to have personal friends meet, small meeting dinners. It is also a great place to bring your loved ones. I enjoyed eating here and dining with friends. I recommend this place for anyone else who would be interested.

Went for dinner last night, first time there. Had amazing food, great service!!
But what was even better was , there was an elderly couple at the table next to ours. They finished dinner and were ready to pay the bill. They could not find their credit card. The elderly man was becoming agitated and his wife was a bit confused. We were concerned and decided we would pay for their bill. But the restaurant manager was kind, caring and patient. The manager explained to the couple "not to worry about it" The bill was covered by the manager/owner. I was so touched by this, that I will tell all my friends. Truly a heart warming moment. So go and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, great food, and good people who work there!

We had our first visit here and are looking forward to our next. Although finding the parking lot can be a bit of a maze experience it's easy enough to navigate.
The service is outstanding, attentive but not intrusive which is the petfect balance. Cozy tables with plenty of space between so there isn't the cramped feeling that so many restaurants have these days.
The food was outstanding! We had had tenderloin cooked to perfection and the scalloped potatoes a dream as well as the lamb seasoned and juicy, honestly the best in the area. On our next visit we'll try to save room for dessert.
Highly recommend you visit.

Well operated in light of the virus.

Take an already over priced restaurant and now tack on a hidden 3.5% credit card surcharge, and that's Richardson's.
The surcharge should have been a disclosed up front, not hidden in inconspicuous small print on the menu & check, only to be discovered when it came time to sign the slip. Admittedly, the food was good and so was our service but I did not appreciate the deceit, and for that reason I won't be back.
Manager explained that if they raised there prices instead, they would lose customers. Well, they have lost this customer and two others that I know of, not to mention countless others who read this review.

Wonderful outside setting. Delicious food. Service was great.

Fantastic food! Every dish was just superb. It's 90 minutes away for us, but will be back again soon.

Very limited menu. If you have food allergies (ie celiac disease) forget about having any tasty choices. Pretty pricey. Cramped dining area inside, very old smell to the place. Very nice patio seating outside overlooking the water. I ate there several times, and the menu choices and food never got any better.

Food was excellent. Ambiance is superb. Service was weak. Server forgot to bring rolls, seemed to resend being asked questions.

We were 5 people for lunch outside. Our server was great and food was excellent. Beautiful setting. Will go back.

Good food, prompt service, quaint atmosphere within sight of the Erie Canal. Excellent choice for a romantic dinner.

The hostess Karen and our server Margo were amazing! Knowing we had just come from a bad experience at Monroe s, they went out of their way to accommodate us on their outdoor patio. Our food was delicious and because of them, we had a fantastic birthday dinner celebration. Thanks again and we ll see you soon!

Always consistent, always amazing exclamation the personalized service by the staff, especially Mike so will always greet me with a big smile on his face and we have a chance to catch up. Weatherby summer or winter it is just a wonderful place for a business lunch or an evening romantic dinner. one of my favorite restaurants in Rochester and will continue to return often

Beautiful summer night. Warmly greeted by hostess. Our server. Mary, was delightful and had knowledge of menu. Wine, food and presentation was fantastic. Scenery is the best you can get on east side of Rochester. Will visit again.

Excellent overall. Service was good sometimes a little slow. Food was excellent.

Delicious food, but not someplace to visit unless you're willing to pay their prices.

On the other hand, service in the bar area (which has its own menu) is a nice option if you're on a somewhat more constrained budget.

Very historic and beautiful if you get a chance to eat outside on a nice day. The customer base consists of beautiful and affluent people as you can imagine. The food is decent and expensive, but not amazing; the plate presentation could be better as well.

I was in town for work and usually I ll attempt to try a few places. Fortunately I was so impressed with this place on my first night, that I decided to only eat here for the duration of my stay.

Every dish I would finish wishing there was more just a little more, because it was just so amazing and I never wanted it to end.

I will miss this place and I will make sure I come back the next time I m in town.

Excellent restaurant with very large outdoor secluded seating overlooking the canal, with its own outdoor kitchen. Excellent place for a date or gathering.

Very good food. A bit pricey but we did sit outside and it was a very nice patio. Our waiter was kind and efficient. If you want a great meal and atmosphere as well as friendly staff, this is your place.
