Quiet and clean, pets are allowed. They have a pool and had an adjacent underground parking.

Very annoyed that they didnt mention that it was $37 EXTRA to park in THEIR parking lot. Why would you not include that in the price. Disgusting.
mid price right on waterfront almost ,across street
Near the river, room was outstanding, great breakfast.
Great hotel and breakfast was awesome. My only issue was that I did not like the pillows. You may want to bring your own.
I was really impressed with the quality of amenities at this downtown hotel. Even on a sold out weekend I was still upgraded to a "water view" suite. The breakfasts while very busy were good and I enjoyed (get this) the oatmeal! Usually it tastes a bit funky at hotels, but theirs was super good!
The coffee of course was also really spot on.
The only issue I really had was that parking was $26 a day. As a platinum guest I feel that this should be included in the stay as a perk of spending more time in hotels than in my own home... but that's just me and most people probably plan for the fee. I myself did not... which for a stay of a day or two isn't *that* bad, but 3-5 days and ouch!
I had to go to this motel to pick up a medical device...we drove almost an hour to get there and my driver needed to use the restroom while I had to get information on where I needed to go...my driver returned to the front desk because you needed a room key to access the lobby restroom which is unbelievable to start with but then in the bathroom, the stall that was used was filthy...the floor was covered with streaks of dirt from a dirty mop...nothing was touchable...now I come from Las Vegas where the hotels pride themselves with customer service and cleanliness because they not only want you to enjoy this visit but they want you to return to enjoy it again, so I wonder who is in charge of this motel, because whoever it is, they are in the wrong job...I would never return to stay at this motel and would never recommend it to anyone...
It was a good hotel with nice amenities and continental breakfast. They even held our bags before and after we checked-in and checked-out.
I've been staying here so far for 3 days and the service has been top notch. ......they have a very nice breakfast in the mornings. The beds are extremely comfortable. I also have to admit, the boss lady "Kim O" Is GORGEOUS!!......shhhh!
The room was awesome. The breakfast one of the biggest and best I've had ever at a motel. the staff also very friendly. And helpful. I personally think the 35 dollars to park at the motels own parking structure was absolute bull $#!t. On 2 and 3 hundred dollar rooms when all the 100 dollar rooms at surrounding motels had free parking. But maybe I'm outta touch. And the elevator was either malfunctioning or just severely over welmed around breakfast time. I had trouble even finding the stair case as did dozens of others just so I could pack my luggage down 4 flights of stairs just to check out.
The hotel room was great. The only thing I had a problem with was parking and the key card only opened my room door not the lobby door or to get my car out of the garage or to even get back in the garage
Excellent property, rooms, and superb staff. If you re coming to Portland, this is the spot to be!
I was here for a 2 day conference. Both days were amazing and I felt very taken care of. Each staff member was friendly and also offered tips about things in the surrounding areas. The staff that refreshed our rooms through the day were quick, quiet and efficient-never interrupting our presentation. I will definitely stay here in the future!
Staff was very helpful and friendly, check in and out was quick and simple. Safe parking area. Decent free breakfast, and a small room service menu. Location is great, very close to OHSU (Ronald McDonald House patients stay here) and right across the river from OMSI (see picture). There is a streetcar stop a few hundred feet away, so simple access to the rail system and public transit, and you can get where you need to go by transit or by walking as easily or easier than by driving.
Only issue was the AC in our room. The room was warm, and the AC did not do a lot to cool it down. The staff was great though, and found us a fan so my wife was able to sleep comfortably.
Our Studio was beautiful, clean, and the bed was super comfortable!
The breakfast was good, Whit was great. My friend clogged the toilet. We tried to plunge it for a long time, but it didn't work. Then, someone came with the drain snake and did a good job unclogging it. We also had the suburban, which was great for 8, also the secret compartment did a good job hiding our jewels, but we had to pay 29.95 for the parking each night, and that was just okay.
Fantastic hotel and the restaurant was even better. I'm glad my family and I chose to stay there.
Nice hotel, great location, fantastic breakfast. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is quite friendly. Very close to orange line of trimet.
Room was huge, hotel staff was incredibly friendly, and there were a lot of things to do in and around the hotel. It made for a great visit with family in Portland and also allowed us to see the city.
Nice stay and adequate service. I can tell we are back in Oregon as its only as good as it gets here.
We were here for a sleep study, so can't speak to amenities, but bed was VERY comfortable, and free breakfast was outstanding!
We stayed at the residence in marriot on 5/10/2018, the psu downtown Portland, oregon location. It was an amazing experience. We were there to visit my mother, who is currently losing a battle with cancer, and we didn't have a lot of time to book, so we chose this one. It was very homey, relaxing and nice to be somewhere close to ohsu. We appreciate this location and the stay.
This hotel was in a perfect location. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A special thank you to Shane at the front desk for being so helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
Beautiful place. Breakfasts are terrrible. Parking is not free, it's $35 a night per car!
Great room breakfast even better WiFi issues no internet sometimes
We got a one bedroom suite with a pull out couch in the other room for our two little girls. We're on the 8th floor with a view of the river and the next hotel to the north. The hotel I would give three and a half Stars. They do a very good continental breakfast, and they have a nice little bar lounge area, I'm a saltwater pool is great for kids! It could be a little nicer for where it's at,but that's probably my only complaint.
Bathtub is mad slippery and there is no lotion. Good otherwise.
Correction.. there is lotion at the front desk when asked. I gave the review one more star. Also, pretty good breakfast included in the stay... relatively speaking.
Location is not too bad. Outer part of downtown. We got a 2 bedroom suite. It's a lot smaller than I expected. Also seemed a little worn. Could use a little updating. Overall comfortable and I would stay here again if/when we come back to Portland.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Clean rooms with good location on the water, a 15 min walk to downtown.
Found blood spatter on curtains, in the marble bathroom floor transition strip, and in the bed sheet pads. Grosss! I can not recommend starting there based on this visit. Sorry. I really expected best freon this hotel.
Property has been beautifully reovated! The public spaces are light and spacious, done in soothing blues and neutrals. Breakfast is better than your run of the mill, with options such as veggie sausage crumbles and rice with miso and seaweed. Friendly staff and a pretty location right on the river. Can easily walk downtown on the beautiful Riverwalk or take the convenient light rail or streetcar.
Had a wonderful experience. We checked in very late but were still well taken care of. Parking was simple.
Amazing Stay! Great views and clean hotel. Staff is super cool too!
A spacious and comfortable room close to the river tour park.
very large rooms with full kitchenettes. clean and new look and comfy beds. only downside was the very pricy $35/night parking.
This hotel was very nice for my needs. I had a rowing camp that was on the water and this hotel was walking distance from where I needed to be. The beds we're also super comfortable- only complaint is that the sofa bed was very thin and so you could feel the bars which was definitely not as comfortable.
Great location. Breakfast options (due to covid precautions) are pretty sad. Great desk staff.
Hotel is pretty clean and the room is spacious enough to accommodate 4 people no problem. I had to take some blankets from the other bed to use on the pullout bed, but that may be oversight on my part. Would totally stay again
This was an irritating stay and I would avoid this hotel in the future. At check in you are hit with a $39 parking fee. The staff did not enforce their mask policy and the breakfast offered had expired yogurts. I would go somewhere else if possible.
Weekend Getaway
Really love this hotel. Front desk is super helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Absolutely love the fact that you can't hear anybody when you're in your room. Very quiet hotel. Pool and hot tub are great. Can't say enough about it.
Nice room with a decent breakfast. View of a construction site or it would rate 5 stars.
This Residence Inn is well-located in the southern part of the downtown core in an area near the river, just across the water from OMSI. Ten years ago this was our go-to place with our family. The rooms are quite big and have nice light.
However, this property is in need of some refurbishing/sprucing, especially for the cost. One of the elevators was broken during our stay and a guest who had been there most of the week said it had barely worked. Not good when there are only 2!
Also, be forewarned you will pay $30/day for parking. A little bit steep.
I dropped my father if here for an overnight sleep study. The room was very nice and quiet.
This Marriot is similar to the other residence inns, but their staff and service are excellent and friendly, and they have a great continental breakfast.
well after I read all the great reviews it sounded like such a great place but ended up being a big old mess and a lot of extra work. with a handicap lady we got sent to the 7th floor all the way out at the end the toilets were super low in the morning before we check out I wanted to swim but the pool was closed for cleaning which I don't understand why they didn't do it at night. Before I got into the hot tub I went downstairs and ask for a towel as there was none in the pool room and after the front desk calling through people and finally going to get it herself I got my towel 45 minutes later
Great location and the staff is nice! Plus for being a nice hotel with breakfast but all stars because of how awesome the staff is.
Very clean, comfortable, upscale hotel. Very good breakfast options, bar & food available on site.
The room was clean and the staff is always so friendly and helpful
Great suites in an excellent location in the city of Portland.
Friendly breakfast and front desk staff. Didn't like construction on rooftop wake up call. Walking distance too many amenities.
Really liked this place. Don't let the location under the overpass bother you. The hotel has sound proofed the Windows so no real traffic noise. The hotel is on the river walk. Has a huge lobby, friendly staff and very nice room. Pool is great for kids. Very family friendly place. Love the location 10 min walk to downtown but out of the Gray and by the river
Lovely staff super friendly!! Very clean rooms, bed was super comfy. Loved my stay.
Great hotel with an excellent breakfast. Next to a running trail. Had to pay for parking, $37.
An upscale stay with magnificent views and splendid customer service, the Residence Inn Downtown /River Place is my most favorite one of the chain that I've stayed in so far. It's impeccably clean, quiet, modern and very convenient. I can't stress enough how wonderful my stay was. I will stay there again on my next visit to Portland.
Quick stay..quiet and comfy room. Good Continental breakfast
Pretty place, very awkward parking garage, smells like someone was smoking in their room... But otherwise, very comfortable, and VERY nice staff.
Thank you for your reply, Marriott! I don't hold you responsible for a rare few neighbor issues :) and we will absolutely be back!
No signs or staff to be seen whatsoever, nice location and easy parking
Rooms were made available 3 hours after check in. Roughly 35 families waiting for rooms. Manager (Jesse) was horrible. He was rude, full of false promises and disrespectful. Will never stay here again!
This place is a FABULOUS to come stay!! It's wonderful staff, the Oh so cozy beds, close to everything, and the river of course!! ~ If your here for the weekend, don't miss the world class buffet style breakfast!! Made to order omelettes, yummy waffles, & SOOOO much more !!
Nice extended stay rooms, really good breakfast. Comfortable hotel.
Sevice was fantastic, I had an issue with the bathroom sink and it was taken care of quickly. Great staff, very clean.
I've stayed in quite a few Marriotts now, and this is by far, one of the best. The room was large and open, with every cooking and eating utensil you could need for the kitchen. And thank you for that glorious bathroom lighting that makes my skin look good. Breakfast was FANTASTIC, and the staff were kind and courteous. I did notice that the TV guide didn't line up with the actual channels, but everything else was perfect!
My son had a sleep study here last night. Front desk staff were super helpful, and the person who actually did the sleep study was amazing. Should've came here sooner for a sleep study through OHSU rather than have it done in the NICU.
Great, restaurant any wait staff. The ambiance is wonderful. Great food!!!
This hotel is on the river at the edge of downtown and at the South end of the river walk area. While the area is quiet, you have access to the central Portland scene.
Not too sure about how I feel. When I arrived the 1st young woman at the front that we came encounter with wasn't as friendly as she should've been. We didn't know that we would be charged right off back for our stay. With that being said, we had money transferred to our accounts to pay for the room which took about 5 minutes or so. But when we went back inside to pay for the room she looked as if it was a disappointment to her that we actually came right back to pay with a valid credit card. We had given her the card to pay and she swipes it to see if it'll go through which it did. Then she just sat the card down on the counter (didn't give it directly back in our hand) she didn't say Thank you or anything. But that's not where it ended. Saturday there was a power outage from about 6pm to 2 am. I called about 12:30 am to see if they were working on the problem because I had no hot water to shower. The young lady that worked overnight would not let me talk. She became very argumentative about the power outage being out of their control and there was nothing that they could do about it. She would not let me get anything out she continued talking me. Very UNPROFESSIONAL! Mind you we payed $640 for our stay. So our ice cream and ice and frozen items became unfrozen and then refroze. So that was enough for me. Each night I woke up with a sore back. We got a King Suite... I'm sorry but this hotel appears to be a great one. In my eyes it's not. I will come back to Portland but not to this place.
Great location downtown. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
The rooms are clean and decent and the location is fine. However, I am surprised this is a Marriott property. I was not welcomed at all during check in. The employee took my ID and credit card, handed me my room key and told me there is breakfast in the morning. As a lifetime Platinum Elite member, not exactly what I m used to at Marriott properties. Any how, later in the evening after the gym I came downstairs to get some water. I went to the market and there was no water in the cooler. I went to the desk and asked if they had any water and was told to get it from the market. I informed the gentleman that there is no water in the cooler and his response, it s a bad deal man, you can take some Gatorade. Not sure how to make coffee with Gatorade. There are a lot of great reviews about this place so I am just going to assume it was a bad day.
It decent, only 2 older elevators for 9 floors, still ok value.
For a hotel that supposedly features all the amenities, the fact that there's no fan in the bathroom besides a weak central air vent (loud fans do double duty when it's time to do yours), the towel rack fell off on the slightest touch (for display only?), it has no windows that open (aka not a 4/20 celebration destination), and offers a TV that is about 10 years old with a basic cable channel selection circa 1995 (all infomercials after midnight, hooray!), the Residence Inn Portland Downtown Riverplace overlooks some basic features that cheaper lodgings provide with aplomb. Location is good, kitchenette is nice, but didn't make up for the real necessities. And oh yeah, it cost THIRTY-SEVEN DOLLARS to park in their garage overnight! Thievery.
PS: It should not take 20 minutes to deliver an extra blanket to the room. It's not a cheeseburger.
This hotel was fantastic. So many amenities that you can tell they are detail oriented. Full fridge, dish washer, stove, big couch, 2 tv's, etc. They've outdone themselves!
One elevator in whole building, waited over ten minutes three different times, very frustrating! Terrible selection at continental breakfast the little selection there was mostly gone..
When we arrived at 9:30p, the night concierge "Vonny" was equal parts rude, inattentive and unknowledgeable regarding oversize parking for our truck. When asked if there was available parking for my vehicle, he responded that "there's a whole garage" without looking up from the desk to view the truck in question sitting in front of him. So we unloaded our luggage into our room and I returned to park the truck myself, only to be alerted by an alarmed Vonn thaty truck wouldn't possibly fit in the indoor garage and would have to be relocated to "oversize parking." No problem; how do I get there from here? Vonn indicated that parking was an immediate left out of the garage and then another immediate left into the parking area behind the hotel. These directions proved impossible to follow, given a gigantic grass median strip and no intersection whatsoever to perform the left hand turn in question. Half an hour later, I am lost in some "Schnitzer Parking Lot" and can the Residence Riverside front desk for clarification. Vonn then proceeds to tell me he's in fact never driven a vehicle to the oversize parking area and didn't know there was a median preventing access.
The next morning we checked out of our room and booked at another Marriott across the river. I told the MOD (a tall early 50s man with brown hair) about our experience and how unhappy I was with the way we'd been treated. The manager expressed disbelief that his staff would behave in such a way, but thank goodness another guest right next to us chimed in and said he and his wife had an identical experience with their RV as well. To this the manager then tolde he would put 5000 points on my Bon Voy account as some form of compensation for the trouble. This never happened, and I would strongly encourage potential guests to stay elsewhere for better service. Marriott is usually treats my family and me like gold; it's unfortunate this specific hotel doesn't perform to the same standard of excellence.
The experience at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Downtown Portland was phenomenal to say the least. The location is exceptional for running as a path down the river was just outside the hotel, the room we stayed in had a view of the river and had nice amenities. The tellers at the front desk gave descriptive and in depth help on using the almost foreign transit system and on Portland's offerings of activities. Overall, our hotel went above and beyond what I'd been expecting.
Great rooms! Very clean. The staff is a bit sensitive about noise though. Like way too sensitive.
