Great location downtown Portland, especially if you have to go to OHSU for business or treatment. You can easily walk from the hotel to the hospital and to lots of local dining options. Front desk staff are super helpful and the hotel is clean and comfortable. Rooms are like mini apartments and have cook top, pans, dishes, and fridge. They will purchase groceries for you if requested. Bed is very comfortable. Hotel has fitness center and pool and free WiFi.

Overall, this was a good hotel experience. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. It is a really cool area in Portland that had a nice vibe. The free breakfast had a good selection and was tasty. Service at the hotel was excellent!

Some cons to be aware of:
Connectivity to wifi and cell service is sketchy and it was annoying! For being in a trendy spot, I would think more effort would be put into help their guests connect.
On lower floors, do not expect a view. We looked out onto a roof and the other side had a view of the substation across the street.
We did have issues with our toilet and heard the same from several friends who were also staying at the same hotel.
Parking is $35/day - UGH!

It was a good stay and regardless of the downsides, I would stay there again.

My family and I actually stayed at the Ronald McDonald House on the fifth floor so our room experience may have been different than the norm. However, the breakfast is absolutely amazing with an ever changing menu that is capable of satisfying even the pickiest of eaters. The swimming facilities were great as well.

The hotel room was clean and spacious. I appreciated the activities in the lobby and the breakfast was great. Took my kid to the pool and it was disgustingly dirty. When getting out I actually spotted a little poop pebble outside of the pool! YUK. On our check out day we had an early morning dr. appointment. We packed most of our stuff but were going to come back and get the rest. Two hours before check out we returned to find all of our stuff gone. Tons of food in the fridge - gone! Medication - gone! When we asked the front desk, they said it had been thrown out. When we told them about the medication that was left in the fridge and how expensive it was they quickly retracted their statements and said that they kept them in a fridgerated locker to see if the owner would come back and claim the items... They returned most of our stuff, but it was so strange that they would enter the room and remove all of the stuff (which incuded our baby crib, toiletries, food and other items) several hours before check out. Their customer service was terrible; they were acting like it was our fault for leaving the room in the morning, even though we returned well before check out time.

We were given a river view (room 903) and the room was clean and spacious. The hotel staff was nice enough to upgrade us and asked if we wanted a river view in a studio or a one bedroom but no river view. We opted for the studio with a river view. The room was clean and the beds comfortable however, the only negative was we could hear the machinery and ventilation. Next time we'll be more aware once we get to our room and request for a quieter room.

The location is great and there are great restaurants nearby. Public transportation is also easily accessible and is located just across the street.

I am very upset. We only needed the hotel room because my daughter was having surgery at ohsu, I was never informed about a 39.00 parking fee until we where checking in at 7:30 at night. People should be told about this when they make reservations. I have asked for the manager to call me and he still has not.

Great location on the edge of the waterfront. About 15 minutes walk to Pioneer Square along the waterfront. Covered parking, hearty breakfast, large rooms with kitchen, desk, sitting area. Hot tub, pool, exercise room. Recently updated. Enjoyed the stay.

It's a Residence Inn owned by Marriot. To me that says it all. The hotel was nice, relaxing, and very comfortable. The location was great, the breakfast selection was good, and the staff were very nice.

I like the location of the hotel...the rooms are outdated and need deep cleaning...I was sick when I got there and became worse of asthma because of the smell and dust in the rooms. When I dust arrived the room was unbearable I refused to sleep there, then I was moved to a much better room on the second floor. The second room was so much better but still needed deep clean and AC filter change. Overall, the quality was not as expected.

The stay was fine, but when we arrived home we had an additional charge posted to our Visa for restaurant/bar services that we did not purchase. When I called to inquire, I was told that they could not find a receipt for the purchase but that the bar manager was assured (having never seen my wife or children, but simply assuming that since it was a woman with children that it was my wife) that my wife made the purchase. After multiple calls and request for proof of purchase (receipt, video evidence, etc.), I still have the charge on my Visa and no resolution.

Update: Josh Harper, general manager provided the information requested only after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I left multiple messages asking for a return phone call from a manager and never received one. The email response maintained the accusation that my wife stole from the bar when the video timestamp and receipt were clearly marked after our checkout. Once I pointed out that the charges were well after our check out and provided photos of my family to compare with the video footage they agreed to refund the charges. In the email response, there was no apology for the false accusations or for the time I had to spend trying to resolve these accusations, which was the course of several days. I have never experienced this level of disorganized incompetence and have never in my life have been treated so poorly.

We stayed here last week for 5 days. The hotel is conviniently located close to the riverfront and has all the amenities you would expect at most Residence Inns.

The restaurant and the food were good and the bar is a bit unique to this location. Our service was good though they did not have our room ready when we showed up at 4pm. We had to wait for 2hrs before our room was ready.

The two other issues were parking @$32 per night is almost 20% of the cost. This is not advertised anywhere and you find this out only when you get there. There is city road parking outside but it's only 8 spots so good luck finding a spot there. Just add this cost to your room rent when you choose this hotel.

The one other issue we had here was the internet (even the paid premium) version was very slow i.e less than 5Mbps. I have never seen this any hotel before and I travel to at least 40-50 hotels each year for business and leisure.

Overall our stay was comfortable but I would not come back and stay given the issues above.

Like the people, the location and the area, but they no longer have the evening snack and drink event. The tram also costs from here now.
Room HVAC also resets through the day, so you come back to a hot room.

Not much but different than the last visit.

Will go back for the location and riverwalk.

This hotel is river place but not river *view*. Although this hotel is right next to the river, it's sandwiched between some other tall buildings and the multi-level I-5 river bridge. That pretty much prevents any room from having a nice view. The "city view" rooms on the back side look onto a lot that is staging construction supplies for the streetcar bridge being built on the other side of the hotel.

All that said, the hotel itself is quiet despite its proximity to the traffic. The staff is helpful and friendly, plus the breakfast is great. There are some great restaurants a few steps away on the riverfront trail, we thoroughly enjoyed. the Riverfront Cafe and Newport Grill. The hotel is pet friendly and you'll find plenty of canine company along the river front.

Well-maintained hotel not far by car or foot from downtown Portland. Staff were friendly and helpful. 1 bedroom was large to accommodate 2 adults and 2 teens without feeling too cramped. Views were limited - either I-5 overpasses or a construction site. Breakfast area was busy, and there were a couple of times when folks had to line up to wait for eggs or other hot entrees to be replenished.

Overnight parking rates were high so we opted to park off-site. Riverfront walkway between the hotel and Tom McCall Park offers several restaurant and cafe options. Roughly 10 mins to walk from the hotel to Naito Parkway.

Very clean and well kept. Had a single suite the was very comfortable, especially the bed. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Only drawback is a lack of dining nearby and a very limited menu in the bar. Give it 4stars.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon evenings here. Service was respectful and professional. The room was clean and kept in tip top shape by hotel staff. View from the high floors was decent. We had a good view out over the river. Staff were very accomadating with a couple requests we had. The grounds, including thr parking garage, were patrolled by a security officer which helped my wife feel much safer. Overall was a very good experience!

The rooms here are nice and the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Easy to get around. Parking is $35/night but you can find street parking overnight for free, but the meters start at 8:00 am so you have to be ready to leave by then or feed the meters first thing in the morning.

So I always thought Marriot is something good, but this hotel shows that not all Marriotts are nice. The rooms are very big but outdated. Wifi is ok. Rooms and floors smell bad. Breakfast is not good.

Cozy, very spacious, with multiple rooms and kitchen. Fits 6 comfortably...location is okay (southern side of downtown), most food places are on the northern side of downtown toward pearl district. TVs in the room could be bigger though (32-40inch? maybe)

Here for 6 weeks so can judge it better at the end of my stay but it seems very nice so far, breakfast is very good - choice between hot food, pastries, waffles or cereal. I stayed in a suite with a very comfy bed, all staff have been friendly so far.
