Reno Orthopeadic Clinic Review

My 17 year old daughter broke her back in 5 places over the 3 day weekend. The ER Dr. Referred us to another Neurosurgeon office in town. I checked them out online and they had bad reviews. I called ROC under advice of a dear friend and I am so happy I did. They did get us in same day. They already had her scans from Saturday and took xreys to confirm. See them back in 6 weeks to start physical therapy. Thank you Dr Bjerke. You did good.

Wonderful staff, dr. Watson was great and l actually got help. Slept all night with no pain, can't tell you much better l feel. So often clinics do nothing and refer you to someone else and you leave with the same problem and pain you walked in with. Thank you Reno orthopedic clinic.

The ROC has always been my choice for anything orthopedic! I am treated respectfully and helping hands are offered when I might need one. I am slowly being re-built, as severe arthritis & a neuromuscular disease are playing havoc with my joints. I have two new knees, a rebuilt foot and now, I'm heading for my first of, probably, two hips! The Bionic Woman has nothing on me! Seriously, my doctors have all been professional, and I highly recommend them.

I have received excellent care by all members of the staff in the office, on the surgical floor and in general. I would recommend ROC to anyone!

I was very nervous going in. I was afraid they were going to have to amputate my fingertip. The receptionist was exceptional. She went and sat down with me and helped me fill out all the forms and had a genuine concern for my injuries and me as a person. The doctor was also exceptional he two had a genuine concern for me and told me not to worry I was not going to lose my finger. The gentleman rewrapping my finger had the utmost care and respect for my injury. I only wish I remembered everybody's names as I am still in pain and hurting. July 2019 they're still renovating so park behind the facility and there is a little white box that someone stands in. This box has a red dot on it and you don't need to worry about metered parking like I did. They have people on golf carts shuttling folks back and forth.

Not impressed. I understand covid19 caused some challenges but when the doctor went from telling me surgery was necessary to there was nothing that could be done I knew this was not true. Torn meniscus can be repaired or removed as necessary because I have had it done on the other knee. It is likely I was dismissed due to my age (over 60) regardless of my health and activity level which exceeds many people half my age. There are better options for Ortho go somewhere else, I did, and my surgery is done.

I went to the Reno Orthopedic Clinic with my husband after an accident he had for a follow up for his surgery on his hand. I have never in my life experienced something so horrible. They failed to communicate what the appointment was going to entail and it left us unprepared. The staff was removing a cast from my husbands hand which ended up being stuck due to dried blood and they left him alone in the room and told him to take it off himself and let them know when he was done. The doctor was in the room for maybe 2 minutes and didn't give us any opportunity to ask questions before he left. They didn't give us any care instructions and basically kicked us out of the office. Then on top of basically being neglected the whole time we were there the office staff have failed to turn in the paperwork necessary to his work and insurance to get temporary disability for over 2 weeks now. Oh and we paid them to fill it out and they still haven't done it. I would never recommend them in a million years. In fact I would rather drive to another state with a broken bone to see a good doctor than deal with these people ever again.

All staff are very courteous. Dr. Arraiz is professional and also very personable. Makes me trust him

I would recommend Dr. Peter Althousen to anyone needing total hip surgery. Dr. Althousen's extensive experience with and knowledge of this procedure far exceeded my expectations. Dr. Althousen is compassionate, honest and realistic with his patients regarding possible surgery complications, if any, and quality of life following surgery. His staff are also professional, competent and caring.

I have always been treated well at the ROC! Tracy is wonderful. She listens to me and gives me great advice on how to make my feet healthier!

I should be clear here, in that I have not received any treatments yet from ROC. However, during my initial consultations with my doctor and his assistants, I was impressed with their professionalism and courtesy. Everyone was very kind and efficient, explaining everything to me in very good detail and answering all of my questions or concerns. I feel very comfortable with this facility and its employees, and am looking forward to continuing my treatments with them.

I went there to get my knee checked out and I had heard that Dr. Albertson was really great. They were right. Both Dr Albertson and her assistant Natalya were awesome! I highly recommend them..

Both my husband and I are patients at ROC in Carson City. Our appointments are scheduled quickly, all employees are efficient and courteous, and the building is easy to to get to. We recommend ROC for any bone and joint issue you may have.

My aunt went to the office of Dr. Jackson Jones and was treated so bad I had to write this review. She waited over an hour to review her MRI. They had no idea what they were doing. They actually did and x-ray on her for no reason! My aunt is dealing with a life treating problem and that doctor did not even come into the room to speak to her! After an hour she had to speak with him in the hallway! Who do these people think they are? How dare you feel above a patient. I am convinced that this office, in general, can not be trusted.

My first time at ROC with a hand injury. Dr. Anderson was wonderful!

Doctor Whitlow is an amazing doctor. He is doing everything he can to get my ankle back to 100%. He is courteous and listens to my concerns and agrees with the physical therapist and pain management on my case.

Dr Dobbs is a rock star! Torn meniscus, thrashed ACL, after surgery, within 3 months back to hiking, walking, biking and wearing heels! So happy to have my life back, thank you Dr Dobbs and his great team!

Dr. Arriaiz makes a visit to the doctors office an enjoyable experience even under the circumstances of the visit. Very personable while still taking the time to get to know you and your condition. He takes a personal intrest in your rehabilitation and maintaining the problem you are dealing with. 10 out of 5 stars!

Dr. Albertsons was very very easy to talk to. She made me feel very relaxed during my visit. I appreciate the fact that she didn t make me feel rushed when discussing my concerns. I referred Dr. Albertsons to my daughter to see if she was on her plan.

On my discharge papers it listed that my left foot was injured when it actually was my right foot. Service was quick and facility was well kept.

To complete staff at ROC was very courteous professional and thorough in treating my situation. Dr. Whitlow made a very quick diagnosis to my fracture and what needed to be done for it to heal. I was in and out of the office very quick.

Dr Kalisvaart and his assistant Marisa are both very professional and get you in and out very quickly. My experience with my son was a lot more bearable because of they answered all our questions. I would recommend them to anyone.

I was referred by my primary MD for hip pain. Dr Webster performed a thorough exam and obtained his own X-ray at the time of my appointment although an X-ray had already been done. He read the X-ray differently than the radiologist and made an immediate diagnosis. I am now almost pain free. Dr Webster was kind, thorough and explained everything. Would recommend him and ROC

This place is awesome my son has had several injuries and we always will choose Reno Othropedic. The office staff, medical techs and doctors are all very professional and extremely kind and knowledgeable. We have used their surgery center and it is top notch also. Great group of professionals. Very satisfied we have been seen by several of their doctors over the past 7 years had 3 surgeries and very pleased with the outcome.

I am very grateful for my doctors at ROC Sports Medicine Clinic. I ve had multiple shoulder surgeries there in the past two and a half years. I had a newer cutting-edge surgery last year. Dr Kalisvaart and Dr Dobbs are both excellent doctors. I highly recommend both of them. They are both conservative with their treatment and have an exceptional bed side manor.

They are friendly and efficient. It is nice to have an urgent care facility specializing in orthopedics. The doctor had a great "bedside" manner and was quite professional.

The only co..mplaint I have is the amt.of time I spent,in the room,after my splint .? was removed, and waiting for the casting .

I went to ROC Urgent Care and had an exceptional experience! I saw a PA had xrays and had a custom made hand splint made all in one hour and 15 minutes. I am beyond pleased with the expertise and service.

I was impressed with my visit to the ROC clinic. I went in to meet and prepare for my hip surgery that with my MRI's other Dr's and PT specialist said I would need. Hip replacement.
I get there get and exray and meet Garrett Berkrich. PA for Dr Boyden.
He was very nice and knowlegable answered my questions without hesitation but said we would not need to be doing surgery right away and I was surprised because I have been going thru hip pain on and off for 3 years now. Use a cane so I don't fall since my leg has weaked more. Last summer took a fall but didnt break anything just made my hip in unbelieveable pain perticularly in the groin area. So got started some PT then made an apointment with my pain management Dr to have a shot in the hip joint which got me out of that horrible pain but still weak and poping hip. So we are going to continue with my swimming, get another shot. Meet with the surgeon in June. Keep losing the weight. I am Obese and need lose at least 100 lbs.I was relieved to jot be doing tje surgery now bit will meed ot in the fiture.

Dr. Boyden did an excellent job on my knee replacement . it has been three weeks and I've had minimal bruising or swelling . I would definitely recommend him to anyone considering this kind of surgery .

Dr. Young was not my ideal Dr. The first Dr. Who made me feel like he didn't care bout his patients. .I had to manipulations with him n still am experiencing pain..He didn't treat me right from the get go and was very very rude to me.....Not happy at all!!!

I had rotator cuff surgery at ROC and Dr. Ryan Dobbs and Suzanne Flint PA-C were exceptional! The wait times for appointments were reasonable, the billing department was very patient with my insurance company and best of all my surgery was a complete success! I appreciate his skill as a surgeon and I appreciate the honest approach Dr Dobbs took with his evaluation of my shoulder. I took his advice and his recommendations and I am well on my way to a full recovery. I would definitely go to Reno Orthopedic Clinic again in the future.

Fast, knowledgeable, good, 1 stop shopping for body structural damage. Wish I'd known I could go directly to them for my leg instead of thinking I had to go thru primary Dr or Urgent Care.

If I don't have something good to say about someone, I usually tell them, or keep it to myself. Especially when it comes to a public forum. But I feel that sharing a medical review is important. People's lives and health are involved.
My experience has been terrible from my first interaction with Reno Orthopedic Clinic. I was referred to them for a broken leg and ankle in September of 2015. They didn't return my phone calls or get me in for an appointment until March of 2016. During those 6 months I went to the emergency room twice, telling them that I wasn't receiving treatment. Our community is small, and R.O.C. just so happens to be the monopoly that I kept getting referred to. After being strung along with no pain management (shattered ankle and a pilon fracture, mind you) I get an appointment with nurse practitioner Linda Dunaway. When I learned the term "bedside manner ", that is exactly what she is lacking. She was not helpful at all, and she made it seem that I was not the type of patient that was worth their care. I was so confused by the situation, that I felt I had done something wrong. With all of the pain I was in, and frustration about not receiving treatment, I thought maybe I had acted in a way that had them not wanting to help me. I bought the front desk, and Linda Dunaway, flowers to hopefully ease the tension I was receiving from them. I finally get an appointment with Dr. Lundeen, and he recommended an ankle fusion. I was told by some other surgeons that it was possible to avoid a fusion, and I opted for the chance to seek treatment elsewhere. That surgery didn't work, so I ended up getting a fusion through a different clinic in September of 2016.
Flash forward to today, March 3rd, 2017. I was referred to R.O.C. from my primary, for what I thought was going to be an appointment for pain management, and an examination of the surgery performed on my ankle. Linda Dunaway walks through the door and immediately tells me that I shouldn't be there, and "they don't do what I'm there for ". After explaining to her that I was referred to them, and that I only go where my appointments are made, she started talking in a very condescending tone, and acting like I was wasting their time. I told her that my primary wanted them to evaluate my situation, and schedule a pain management appointment with the proper Doctor. She says that they only deal with back pain. With X-rays of a fused right ankle in front of her, she snidely asks if I'm there for back pain. Without any compassion, or care for my well being, she puts the copies of the X-rays on the table and exits the room.
Absolute waste of time, and a side of healthcare I wish I didn't know existed. Linda Dunaway is unprofessional, uncaring, and completely unhelpful in my experience. She is in the wrong field if her goal is to help people. I am genuinely sad for the patients that have been mistreated, or not treated at all by this clinic.

The Doctors and Staff are amazing. The credentials and experience of the surgeons are the best in the area. If I had to chose who would operate on my mom after a horrible accident, or after a minor injury, it will always be a doc at Reno Orthopedic Clinic.

They made the surgery easy and I felt my opinion was taken seriously at all times.

I recently broke my toe and was totally pleased with my visit with Dr Whitlow. He was aware of my type of problem and told me all my options, He was friendly while still being totally professional. I am confident he will be able to help me get through this.

After serving our country for 20 years in the Marine Corps. My body has needed some repairs. I have had many surgeries and physical therapy. Most of them were conducted by the doctors from ROC. They have all provided great resolve. Dr. Dobbs, Dr. Kaiser and Dr Christiansen are all outstanding in their fields. In the next month or so, I will be seeing Dr. Dobbs to have my left knee partially replaced.

Highly skilled doctors and staff, I had a great experience with dr. O'Mara who did very difficult surgery on my heel few years ago ,I returned for hip replacement anterior approached with dr. Jones and I am extremely happy with the result,a week later I am back to walking my dog and looking forward to get back to rock climbing in a couple of weeks. Thank you dr. Jones.

I have found Reno Orthopaedic Clinic to be very efficiently run. The employees are all pleasant and extremely helpful.

Dr. O'Mara is quite caring, and even though he seems to be extremely busy, going from one exam room to another, he never made me feel like he was rushing me.

All in all I have had a good experience at the ROC.

This was a follow up for a CT scan of a partially healed femur.
Dr. Althauson carefully went over detailed options to try resolve the condition.
So appreciate his vested interest in all the details considering such factors as age, health and statistical data.

I have been a patient at Reno Orthopedic clinic for years but this was the 1st time I had an appointment with Doctor Jones. I saw a Renee and she was absolutely wonderful and somehow managed to get me in for an MRI on the same day as my appointment. The entire staff that I encountered were very professional and caring.

My experience with Dr. Kaiser and his staff was a caring experience from start to finish! Dr Kaiser was knowledgeable and caring. He listened to what I had to say and explained to me what his opinion was and explained the course of treatment!!! His staff were pleasant and helpful!!!

Dr. O'Mara performed surgery on my son's foot, 9 years ago almost to the day. And when I called his assistant Amanda, I explained to her that my son was having pain in his foot where he had surgery on and she was able to get me the very next day to see Dr. O'Mara! Dr. O'Mara examined the foot, did an X-ray and he remembered us from years ago and we were so happy the way it all worked out and he was able to see the progress of his beautiful work! Dr. O'Mara is a Godsend to mankind when it comes to surgeries! The diagnosis of my son's foot, was simply pain and swelling from his recent basketball activities and sent us well on our way...

My wait time was extremely short. Naomi took the time to listen, pay attention, gave me my options, helped me decide what was best for me. I know she listened because she sat with me and looked me in the eye and payed very close attn to what I wad telling her. I would absolutely recommend her and ROC!!

The only thing that was bad was the wait time but we did do a walk in so it was expected

Excellent service on multiple occasions. The team at ROC put my clavicle back together, provided PT, advised on my knee and shoulder issues, etc. I have always been very pleased with the treatment and the outcomes. This is a very well-run business, and frankly I can't understand how anyone could give them a one-star rating. 5-stars, all the way.

My 12 yr old son broke his hand recently. I took him in on a Tuesday afternoon. We were seen within a few minutes of being checked in and x-rayed within just a few minutes of being seen and a cast put on within a few minutes of being x-rayed. It was all so fast and convenient. These people got it down.

My hip replacement is scheduled for next Monday and Dr Young will perform the service that he is well trained to do. Thank you Dr Young. Big thanks to doctors Assistant "Kim" too. I look forward post surgery

Was very satisfied with what Dr. Dodds had to stay would recommend highly . Have several friends that have had the same shoulder replacements surgery that I am about to have very satisfied.

I had hurt my femur and hip. A friend recommended that I go to Reno Orthopedic and since they had opened in Carson, I decided to go there instead of drive all the way to Reno to be seen. Right away, we were greeted, checked in and called to the back to see Dr. Watson. My experience through the whole process was amazing. Dr Watson took the time to explain what he had seen in my xrays and referred me to another doctor within the facility. I continue to have my follow ups there and every time I go in, I am greeted delightfully by Iris. She is a very sweet girl, very happy to be helping me or the guest she calls back before me. She makes me feel welcomed and if I need anything she is there to help right away. After I was seen in the urgent care inside Reno Orthopedic, she called me to see how I was doing a couple days after. Now THATS patient care! Thank you Reno Orthopedic for making me feel welcomed and taking care of my injuries!

Finally, a real Dr., someone who knows what he is doing. I have had over 2 dozen other Dr's.

Professional. You can expect quality care all around. From the physician, surgeon,assistants, physical therapists. Sure, you may have to wait at times and I have never had an extrodanary wait- just normal. ROC is excellent.

B. Gallio is excellent. Thorough, efficient, and professional with a case that was not clear cut.
