Hotel located in a truly stunning landscape, easily accessible from the motorway.
Very friendly staff at reception who willingly dispenses tips for things to do near by.
Excellent restaurant, definitely not cheap but the price is more than fair for the high quality of the dishes.
The spa staff is qualified and came to meet me and girlfriend having her asthma problems, they organized an alternative treatment.
The rooms are well maintained, clean and spacious.

With my sports club we have been guests here at the Ciocco for many years and for us it is simply an enchanting place in the green where we can make an athletic preparation suited to our needs.

You need to understand the culture a little bit to properly operate in the Tuscany region, but the staff was very helpful, spoke great English, and the food was good. Going into Barga was a waste of time though. Come here for one on one time or relaxing.

A very comfortable, if slightly strange hotel.

Positives: stunning views, very comfortable beds, nice pool, convenient taxi transport back + forth into Barga. We found this to be a great place to escape to after a hot day of exploring.

Room for improvement: main restaurant service patchy, pool service non-existent (and for some strange reason, no food served on the pool deck), hotel is popular with tour groups who move through like a herd.

Having a car to move around is essential ... it stays in a position where you can dominate the spectacular Serchio valley and admire Barga.

4 stars like the ones it brings. A super hotel even to be dispersive. The price is not his strongest dish all the rest.

Excellent dinner on the terrace. Elegant atmosphere, very tasty dishes and perfectly prepared.

I would recommend this resort and spa if you want to relax and do nothing but take in the marvelous views because Its really far from everything entertaining or shopping unless you drive. Its about 45 mins from town, but its a secluded resort for those who need peace and quiet and relaxation

This hotel is amazing! The views are seriously something out of a picture book. When we arrived we immediately got several room upgrades and had a balcony with just the most beautiful view. Great location! 45min to an 1.5hr drive to anywhere in Tuscany. All of the staff was very friendly and had great suggestions on where to visit. The food was delicious! The spa was really nice and provided some really great services. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

For those who love the beauty of the mountains, the tranquility of the bucolic landscapes, art, literature and good food and not only the Ciocco is a destination not to be missed

Always very nice unfortunately the moment puts a bit of anguish for the desolation not even one person ..... but a suggestion for everyone as soon as possible come and visit this beautiful place ...... you can stay in a splendid hotel or in the fantastic cottages scattered around the property and top services ... many possibilities for sporting activities ... truly an incredible place in the Garfagnana

The facility is nice but could do with some updating. Apparently luxurious but the cost of the room is not justified x the standards it offers. At the reception there were some mistakes in booking and assigning the room. It was unfortunate to arrive at the hotel and discover that the room was not booked despite having left the credit card number by telephone. Perhaps the chaos created by the car rally on the estate didn't help with the management of reservations. The staff was however helpful in solving the problem by apologizing for the unexpected. Enjoyable breakfast on the outdoor terrace with a beautiful view.

Rooms and resort as a whole are exceptional, like the restaurant and service. The place is huge and contains several detached restaurants, bars, and many others entertainments. An outstanding experience overall.

The location was fairly remote. A great place for a relaxing and a hideaway kind of holiday with nearest village Barga being 15 mins drive away. Lots of good restaurants within 15-20 mins driving distance. The pool was wonderful with great views. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast selection was a bit limited especially the hot food was limited and not very appetising. Staff very friendly. Overall a good experience.

This resort is absolutely amazing. Food variety is massive and the rooms are spacious and fitted with premium quality. The view from the room gave onto the mountain range which is very beautiful.I will post another review once my stay has ended.

Really good place to sty. Very peaceful and isolated amidst the mountains and valleys of Italy. It has a very cool swimming pool outdoor and a cozy pool indoor. However the food could be better considering it is Italian food and the food is slightly costly but justified by the location. Very oily buffet breakfast.

It is the first time we stay at CIOCCO, it was a wonderful 3 days Excellent location, well furnished and comfortable rooms, professional and very kind staff, excellent cuisine, I have never eaten such a good courgette flower risotto with black truffle .
There will certainly be a second time.

One of the best places in the area, great view, impeccable service, SPA, hotel, restaurant, outdoor pool, excursions, huge hall for conferences and parties, don't miss the New Year's concert. Le Salette restaurant certainly deserves for its elegant and impeccable service. If you have an important customer to take to dinner, be on the safe side.

The location is remote and serene but makes it a bit difficult for those that are wishing to explore the broad Tuscany area. The view is worth the hike. The hotel amenities, rooms and facility are fantastic. The staff was accommodating, however, not as friendly/eager as othes I've experienced.

No comment. I was at an event with 750 people. And just in case these days they have paid 20.00 euros per day for parking without a shuttle. The other days is free for customers. The structure is not up to other large hotels.

The view from the hotel is amazing. The only things that threw me off was the loud banging noise from the water drain system on the roof. The drainage system wasnt attach closely to the edge of the roof, hence it makes a alot of noise when there's wind flowing. The temperature monitor of the room was faulty (my room is very warm throughout my day) and the hair dryer was not well maintained. Overall, I'm moderately satisfied, but many things could be improved.

All splendid except the exaggerated cost of breakfast. 12 euros per person is too expensive

Immersed and well placed in the Tuscan countryside. Away from everything but above all from the frenzy. Very large hotel but manages to make you feel like the only guest.

Very high quality hotel. Been here for a conference, very good conference rooms, very comfortable beds in the room. High quality food in the dining room.

Although a bit remote up the hill, this place has everything to relax and to enjoy regional attractions. A visit to nearby Barga and Lucca is highly recommended.

Gorgeous setting and helpful staff. Our room had some plumbing issues that wee brought to management's attention.

Spacious and very comfortable room.
The price is certainly high for the sector but the comfort and relaxation are in the appointment.
Quiet and relaxing hotel, the (small) swimming pool, the fitness room, the sauna and steam room (+ spa but paying) allow to spend an excellent stay.
The breakfast is exceptional but not given fare level.
Do not hesitate if it fits in the budget ...

The hotel has a very nice location, with amazing views. The room had everything you may need and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We went there for a Congress and we really enjoyed our stay.

This is an amazing property. We drove the 2 hours from Florence to have a nice and relaxing stay that we saw others talk about. When we arrived we found there was a very large Indian wedding taking place. While it was an amazing time for that large group to celebrate for 4 days, it was not amazing for us. From the time we arrived there was loud noise and chaos. For 4 hours we heard the wedding taking place, by microphone right next to our room. The next morning at breakfast there were people everywhere and it was beyond loud. The next night at dinner the wedding was in the restaurant so there was a small area for guests. We were told we would have to wait to have dinner until someone left. It was already almost 9:00 pm, so we obviously did not have that much time to wait. The challenge with the hotel is that there is no where else to go to get a meal or some peace and quiet very easily. Barga is 10 minutes away and will cost you $20 by taxi. I talked to the manager twice and nothing was done to accommodate us during the stay. If you are coming for a relaxing stay, and making the long trip up here, I would strongly suggest you ask if there is going to be a wedding taking place. It is my understanding (talking to the locals and staff) this is now a destination for Indian weddings - which will last several days. On the bright side the spa is amazing and the staff is great. The management - not happy with at all!

We're currently staying here. We find the staff to be very helpful and professional. The hotel is convenient to many beautiful sites in the Tuscany region. I'd recommend renting a car and visiting nearby villages. We enjoy long walks. So we made the 5 km trek into Barga for lunch and gellato, and 5 km back. It was a wonderful walk. The hotel honored our Marriott status and we received an upgrade. Food and amenities at the hotel are very good. Views from the hotel are amazing.

Beautiful hotel, very nice and helpful staff, high prices, in line with 4 stars, very well kept rooms. The only drawback, the spa is not exceptional.

Fantastic, in all beautiful place, perfect and clean rooms ... SPA and swimming pools very well kept ... to recommend.

The room has some issues, the fancy showerhead was all clogged with scale. But the resort and the service was very nice. Go try out the emotional shower!
