STAY AWAY!!!!

STAY AWAY!!!!
We had been going to Foolish Heart for some time, and I noticed that my dog would always come home extremely thirsty after a weekend at the kennel. I was curious as to what was going on so I used an old collar camera we had from when he was a puppy the next time we sent him to board for the weekend. Turns out they were keeping him in a shed or a barn away from other dogs! They left him in a crate in the dark for a whole day without giving him food or water! When I asked the owner if they kept dogs anywhere but the kennel she promptly lied and told me, "Oh no, we only keep them in the kennel you know that hahah". So not only did they neglect my dog, they lied about it and treated it as a laughing matter. Needless to say I have decided to take my business elsewhere. You would be FOOLISH to keep your dog here and put up with such crap service!

I took my Sadie over to Foolish Heart Farm and was so pleased with the service Sadie did very well and looks wonderful This is my new groomer won't take her anywhere else. The groomer was fantastic I love this place and will give them a 5 star review every time I take her and oh by the he way rates are wonderful too.

Not only is this place very unclean, but they also treat their employees like garbage. They are under staffed, under paid, and over worked. They get yelled at for things they either didn't do or were never taught to do. No manager should YELL at their employees. Part of being a manager, or at least a good manager, is being able to TALK to one's staff about issues without letting one's emotions take over. If you think the way the staff is treated isn't something that should deter you from going there, think about this: a happy staff is going to do the job well because they enjoy it, but a miserable staff is not going to care if they are doing a good job. Aside from the way the staff is treated, I would not want my dogs any place that leaves them outside for hours in the heat. Daycare dogs stay outside pretty much the entire time they are there, and boarding dogs are out for several hours. I understand not wanting a pet left in a cage for hours, but I would rather my pet be in a cage with air conditioning than outside dehydrating and burning in the heat. I just wanted to speak my piece. Whether you still want to leave your pets here or not is your choice.

I should have trusted the negative comments and never brought my dog here. I left my dog here for a weekend while I was away and when I came back i was very surprised to find cuts and marks on my dog, then when we got home she drank water like she has never been given water before. Never have I left my dog somewhere that when I come home I find her to be poorly taken care of. The barns have no heat or ac and it was quite hot the weekend I was gone, she was obviously not given enough water or food and the marks from other dogs? where were the workers or the manager when this was happening? Dont tell me well dogs just get rough when they play. Dont you thing I dont know that? But our of all the other animals she has been around and played with she has never come home with marks like this. I would never bring any animal to this place again. It should just be torn down. The employees look miserable and I cant blame them with the attitude I received from the manager during my tour. PLEASE IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMAL THEN THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THEM!!! Never again will I take my animal to a place on short notice when it is as bad as this. No animal should be treated poorly dude to the management not knowing what they are doing.

I ve brought my 2 dogs here for boarding and daycare several times since we moved to the area last year. The staff is always friendly and helpful and my dogs always get so excited when they see they re being brought here that they drag me to the barn door! They seem to always have a blast and they come home so much calmer.

My dogs and I have been clients of Foolish Heart Farm since 2010. I ve always been beyond pleased with the care my dogs receive while there. My dogs are happy to run right inside and straight through the kennel area to the outdoor play areas. That tells me everything I need to know about their opinion of Foolish Heart Farm and their opinion matters most.
I ve been inside the kennels at various times during the day on a number of occasions and have always found it to be extremely clean and well cared for. The outside areas are very clean as well...quite an an accomplishment given the number of dogs who frequent FHF.

I took my dog here to be groomed and after almost 8 hours I got my dog back and it looked like nothing had been done except the top of her head. I have been taking my dog to a groomer for years and know what to expect for the blade I asked for and what I got was far from it. The girl was very clueless when I asked for a specific blade and just seemed to lack the knowledge of a good groomer. I got her home and that day she started messing with her head when I noticed it had a gash on it that was not there when I dropped off. She smelled like perfumed dirt. I am not pleased and will never take my dog back.

STAY AWAY!!!!!! If I could give it a half star I would... owner of FH lies to pet owners about pets getting hurt or passing away on the premise. Treats employees like slaves and lies to them, also telling them to lie to an owner about how their pet died. Owner is never down taking care of your pets, and will send anyone down there to do it, even if they are untrained and making her office people train new people (which is not right because they aren't 100% knowing of what to do). Dogs are kept in the summer and winter boarded in the barn with no air/electric to help keep them cool or heat in the winter to keep them warm. Even if there is heat or air,(which again there is nothing in the barn) she tells us to turn it off then complains about the bills being too high to be able to keep the animals and employees comfortable. Kennel runs are very rusted and sharp on one side of the kennel, extremely dangerous for the animals in there. Owner doesn't even leave her own dog there because she says her employees are too incompetent and will kill him. I feel like this post could keep going, and if you couldn't tell I am a former employee. As a pet owner myself, I feel I need to let other people know how their animals are really kept at this place because with what I have personally seen. If any of these things happened to me as a pet mom, I would be calling anyone I could to get this place shut down. Only good thing about this place is MOST of the employees are very nice

Yet... no response to anything else I said... because you can't deny any of it. You can call me a disgruntled ex-employee all you want, I LEFT because of you and your neglegance. Your business should be shut down 100% and you know it. Especially after lying to Buck and Lulu's owner about Buck dying in the kennel because you didn't listen to me or anyone else who told you what was going on with him."just keep him comfortable, that's all we can do" But your right, I'm just doing all of this to attack you, it has nothing to do with warning all the other people out there who actually care about the well-being of their animals. But Good luck in life, you will certainly need it for all the bad karma coming your way.

We've stayed at Foolish Heart Farm several times, and both of our boys are happy and well cared for when we pick them up. I've never seen a boarding facility as clean as Foolish Heart Farm, and i love that our babies don't have a 'kernel odor' when we pick them up. Our Shih-Tzu walks in like he owns the place, and is happy to see his friends, but we absolutely love that our timid Miniature Australian Shepherd is allowed to stay with his brother at all times. They also pay particular attention to our dog's food allergies, and we never go home itching. Love Foolish Heart Farm and highly recommend it!

Our dog Abby always leaves with a very happy and unstressed demeanor. When we ask for grooming, she gets the best bath around! We like that there is lots of room for her to be outside and enjoying good days in the sun.

Foolish Heart has been a life saver for us. Our fur babies are very important to us and finding that they are happy, and well care for makes for piece of mind when we travel.
We like knowing that if our dogs are not with us, that at least at Foolish Heart they are safe, taken care of and are having a good time.
We are always recommending Foolish Heart to our friends.

Way too many dogs for only 1 person to handle. There must have been 40 dogs there the other day and only 1 girl was working. She said she was OK but looked flustered and overwhelmed. My dog was fine and very tired when I picked her up. Thinking twice about going there again.

I have used Foolish Hearts for years and never had a problem. I used them for both boarding & grooming. The owner & staff were professional & treated the animals like they were their own. If an animal became sick or injured Pegi took them to the vet for treatment & notified the owners immediately. Had I not moved out of state I would still be taking my fur kids there

My first and last experience with this place was horrible. After a quick tour of the place I was reprimanded for parking on the grass (it's a farm so I didn't think anything of it) and then I was told that taking me on as a new client would actually be a burden on them. I've been a part of a small business in this community for 15 years and I have NEVER told a potential customer that I wouldn't take their money and that they were actually a burden. So some helpful hints: put a sign on any of the 3 buildings-just something helpful, put up parking signs since where I parked my car was more important than my feedback and questions from the tour I had just taken, oh and when you're not accepting new clients- maybe mention that prior to me wasting my time on a tour I was clearly not welcomed at.

We've left our dogs at FHF nearly 40 times & always been very satisfied with the service. Every staff member I've met has been professional and friendly while being sensitive to our dogs needs. We won't board anywhere else & the daycare is fantasic.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! I am a former employee and feel the need to warn people about this place. I didn't feel safe bringing my own dog here during my work day, and often felt badly for the dogs that were there.
During the summer it was frequently 90 degrees inside the "climate controlled" kennel every day. If the employees in the kennel have heat exhaustion when working then imagine how the dogs feel. The owner became angry when the employees ran the AC and threatened to withhold raises to make sure we didn't turn the AC (or heat, as necessary) on (though there are only 3 window units for the entire building). It is evident that the owner is able to run the AC/heat (and imperative) to keep the animals comfortable and safe. Dogs are left outside playing in the heat for longer than is safe, and there is absolutely no supervision of play due to staffing because employees are required to clean the kennels when the dogs are outside. Injuries and fights happen because the yards are left unsupervised, and the owner of the kennel advised us on multiple occasions to put aggressive dogs out in groups with others (against standard protocols and our recommendations/judgement). In addition to understaffing (because many people quit after experiencing the poor conditions), the kennels are overbooked frequently past a manageable level for employees. There were days I took care of 40 dogs alone for the entire day. There were sometimes so many dogs we had to put them in the side room of the grooming shop or into the barn which have absolutely no temperature control at all. As if the temperature wasn't concerning enough, when the kennels are overbooked your dogs get less time outside playing, less attention, and their cages can't always be cleaned. The kennel attendants are compelled to lie about how your pet's stay was at the kennel. They feel pressured to say every dog was great even if they were anxious, throwing up, aggressive, etc because they are terrified the owner of the kennel will yell at them for saying anything otherwise (she screams at her employees every day for less). Other brief reasons not to bring your pets here include: sharp cages/fences, expired medical supplies, owners aren't told if they're pets get sick, no beds or toys (unless provided by owner or specifically requested), no individual attention or play with the staff, etc. This is all after only working there for a relatively brief period (my love for animals and conscience would not allow me to continue any longer). Your pets are not safe at Foolish Heart Farm.

I take my dog here multiple times a year when I'm out of town. He seems to really enjoy his time spent there, and is always tired when he comes home. He even gets excited pull into the parking lot for me to drop him off! I definitely trust this place and all the people who work there to ensure my dog receives the best care as possible when I'm out of town.

10 years ago I started bringing my beloved pets to Foolish Heart Farms. I am pretty tough to please when It comes to my kids but over time I have learned this is the place my pets are SAFE, HAPPIEST, and WELL-CARED for if they cannot be at home with me. They love coming to Foolish Heart whether for day-care or overnight.

In those 10 years I have watched changes occur as employees come and go. The owner is ever vigilant and demanding of her staff on the care of the animals put in their charge. For this I am thankful!! Very Thankful!!

Having moved 1.5 hours away from Foolish Hearts and having tried local boarding facilities for my pets - I now drive 1.5 hours each way to board my beloved dogs. I KNOW they are well cared for, happy & content as well as having fun-filled days with other boarders!

As for negative comments on Google - I recognize some of the staff members that have been released from Foolish Hearts for unsatisfactory performance - remember from whence a review comes.

The greatest satisfaction and assurance I receive when my pets go to Foolish Heart is the joy and excitement my pets exhibit whenever we arrive at the Farm.

When we picked up our 3 dogs after a week, we were pleased to see how happy they acted & how well & relaxed they seemed. The staff obviously has a caring & loving attitude for the animals staying at FHF. An added bonus when we got home was that our introverted dog wanted to play with her brother & sister! We'll definitely use this service again. It's top notch!
