Absolutely excellent resort.

Absolutely excellent resort.
The staff is first-rate. The hotel is beautiful. The views are spectacular.

A great hotel in a unique location on the mountain above Castelvecchio Pascoli. We were there with KTM Adventure Tours and had a great week here. Very friendly staff, great service and very good food and drinks. The hotel location is very large, but the driveway through the Park Ciocco is already a good 2 kilometers long and with the motorcycle a huge fun.
Otherwise, there are plenty of wellness, sports and fun options to book.
You can also rent race buggies and motorcycles here.
And right behind the hotel up the mountain then try it out
But one day can pass until you have driven all the trails and stretches on this mountain.
And all this in such a beautiful landscape.
All in all a very good hotel and a recommendation from me.

This was a beautiful hotel resort, tucked away in the scenic hills of Barga, Tuscany. The hotel had great food, and great accomodations for our research conference. I recommend this hotel for anyone hosting a professional meeting in the future.

A heartfelt thanks to all. Very clean hotel (and I mean I have worked in hotels) staff of great kindness always ready to meet my needs. A special thanks to Orietta, Aicha and Luana. VERY kind, hardworking, smiling..I want to go back (apart from the wonderful view from the room and beyond) ... to see them again.
Food? Tagliata is the end of the world not to mention the grilled vegetables. Thanks again.
Fiorella.

WOW!!! The view is just one of the great things about this hotel. Don't miss out. The staff was awesome, and helped me in everything I needed, from cabs, to helping book a train, to understanding the area. The setting is so amazing, you might just decide to drink wine and take in the scenery all day. I know my wife wants me take her back do just that.

Thank you for making my stay in Tuscany so enjoyable.

Beautifully located hotel, picturesque views, clean air. If someone wants to rest in good conditions in the bosom of nature, this is the perfect place. It is not too far to visit Barga.
Unfortunately, unfortunately, if you plan something more to explore it is still far away ...

The room was very nice with a large bed and a large bathroom. Morning and evening you could relax on the balcony to end the day.
As the conference took place in Hoten we did not have to travel long and lunch was served on the large terrace.

Relaxing location, lovely food, welcoming staff and nice spa area.
From the restaurant and bar area you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Tuscany hills while drinking a cocktail or eating in the lovely restaurant with a good food select and fair price for a place like this.
The spa area is nice, you can chose between beauty treatments or massages, I find it a bit expensive but lovely.
There is a nice swimming pool and if you have an upgrade you can access to an internal swimming pool area with water massage. If you are keen to sport there is a gym too.

If I could give this "resort" (which I put in quotation to emphasize the humor behind this) a negative number in a review I would. Unfortunately, a 1 must suffice. The staff apparently did NOT receive the proper customer service training that Marriott upholds in most locations. We came for our honeymoon. Staying in Rome at the simple courtyard marriott receiving exceptional customer service and care, have absolutely zero complaints they were wonderful. To travelling out here with high hopes of a lavish experience I was sorely mistaken. I regret coming to the Renaissance Tuscany. The staff is rude and completely oblivious to customer satisfaction. I wish we could just go back to Rome but as this hotel is expensive in regards to stay, meals, and even coffee, we booked this trip a year ago. We were so excited and now extremely disappointed. We will NEVER come back to this Marriott location. I hope Marriott reevaluates and takes the time to come to this location to truly train the staff on how to treat their guests properly.

A great hidden gem for relaxation. The pool was great and fitted with versious water massagers. The sauna area was fitted with "Emotional Showers", which were a novel experience. The restaurant in-house was amazing and the cheesecake on the dessert menu was incredible!

We went there on our honey moon. Being Titanium Elite Members we were hoping (kind of expecting) an upgrade giving the fact that we reserved this hotel for our honeymoon. Anyway when arrived at the counter Maria(receptionist) treated us quite poorly, with an arrogant tone. Give us ,,an upgraded room,, (higher floor) with 2 twin beds! Yes, our first night as honeymooners was in two beds. Spoke to the manager and next day change it to a king room. Either way we shortened our trip as it was not a pleasant experience.
Rooms are super small, breakfast is average, you need a car and the 2 star I give was because of the views. If you have a high floor room you have gorgeous views. Make sure to request that.

It allows you to visit the Garfagnana a stone's throw from the Versilia sea.

This is an excellent hotel. It is a little isolated that's why you need "wheels". However it is Italy where noise is part of their culture but here you will experience pure serenity (if your room choice is favourable!)Dont misunderstand me I love Italy!Italiens are full of life! This hotel is incredibly quiet and full of charm.Breakfast is very good but be friendly to the staff and they will reciprocate. The accommodation is good. The more you pay will result in either a bigger room or a valley facing one.The higher floors are classed as premium rooms. Its worth paying a little extra if you can afford it.You won't be disappointed!I don't know what the restaurant was like.An excellent hotel!

The hotel is in a relatively remote area, but it is nice to be out in the countryside with this beautiful scenery. The room was a tad small, but we didn't spend much time during the day there anyways. The staff was great and the restaurant's food was good as well.

Total relaxation in a luxurious structure located in a hilly and panoramic area. Spa and heated pool for winter stays, outdoor pool with solarium in summer. Great location for visiting Barga and its surroundings.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We ended up booking this hotel simply bc it was a Marriott location and we had wanted to visit Tuscany for a few days. While it is more remote, it was quite relaxing! The accommodations were lovely and modern. The driving route takes a few twists and turns / ups and downs, but overall is fine. The parking situation can be scary / tight, so recommend a smaller car (Italian style) if staying.

- The views were spectacular.
- The room was decently sized, clean and the bed was very comfortable.
- The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, helping to schedule reservations and make suggestions for the area.
- If you re one to want to work out at the gym, I will say the equipment is quite dated; however it still gets the job done. They could definitely upgrade the free-weights, if anything.

Barga was a lovely little town! It is quite small, so you would probably not spend more than 2h there, but we actually ended up going twice! Stop and get a coffee, and drink, some ice cream, visit the duomo - it was simply enjoyable just walking around the town.

The hotel was nice, stunning views and helpful staff. Our room was quite small and had 2 smaller beds rather than a double. Even though breakfast was included in our rate, we were charged again for having it in the room one morning, not a practise I have come across before.

When you book if you want a view
Of the valley you get one with a full view of the valley. We did not originally asked for a room change and they allowed it which was nice. Nice hotel, very high end. Breakfast in the morning was awesome.

PROS: The structure is beautiful, the staff is impeccable, the rooms are very beautiful and attention to detail: even the sheets and duvets are of the highest standard. Superb location with the swimming pool from which you can enjoy a beautiful view. CONS: the spa, although included in the price of the room, is absolutely not comparable, not only this structure, but not even other less prestigious ones. Small spaces in the thermarium, low roof of the pool.

Beautiful location in the mountains of Tuscany with a charming village nearby. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious! I do wish they had a gift shop or place nearby to purchase toiletries or medicine. Maybe that's not a European thing.

This hotel is about an hour and a half scenic drive from the Pisa airport. The roads are fine to drive on. It is a steep climb to the hotel, but you will be met with amazing views of the beauty surrounding the hotel.

The hotel is modern, spacious and comfortable. I was there for a conference and found that it exceeded my expectations.

Because I was there for a conference, the food was buffet-style, with a nice variety of foods available at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There is a gym to work out in, and pools to swim in (outdoor and indoor). There are walking trails that take you further up the hill or to a nearby town.

The rooms are spacious and everything was just fine.

If you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing and enjoying watching sunrises and sunsets, then I would suggest a stay here.
