Most comprehensive selection of outdoor gear you can imagine. Expensive. Generally knowledgeable staff. Great customer service, they will accept returns for any reason with no hassle. They also do ski and snowboard tuning and repairs.
Such a beautiful REI. There's a great sale and clearance going on right now. I got these sherpa lined suede Tevas for only $38 normally $100!
The service was superb! I was looking for hiking shoes and Lizzie and her colleague really went all out to make sure that I had a good fit. We tried it on multiple times, she got an additional insole cut for me with no obligations. I love the shopping experience and my new hiking shoes!
Stumbled upon the flagship store; a very cool mecca of the outdoors in the middle of the city. Several floors of expensive goods! Free parking in their garage if you can get in and out in under an hour. Took us longer to grab lunch, $15 if you hit the 3 hour mark. Probably on par for Seattle
really awesome store and everyone was helpful without being overbearing!! loved it.
Great service. The friendly staff answered all my questions and helped me to decide what I need.
My goto place for hiking gear and backpacks in Seattle.
What can I say? The emoyee Lizzie was the absolute best! Very understanding of SPD and helped my girlfriend find a pair of boots, for over two hours! She even helped watch our two year old while I went and found boots for myself. She entertained him and helped chase him down. Lizzie is by far the best employee in REI I've ever come across, and I cannot thank her enough for her patience and help!
Infuriatingly slow service on this weekday evening. Two cashiers moving like they're on vacation while there are 30 people waiting in line inside the store to check out and ~50 outside waiting to get in.
The T-shirt I bought was cool, but the clerk was not kind. The building was fine, but the service was bad.
This is my favorite clothing store. They have a great return policy which really lets you try out your gear before you commit to your purchase. You can find classes and helpful employees that will get you out into the wood and back in one piece, and then you can get all the gear you need. This location, the flagship location, has a great bike shop with everything you need to get your bike ready for commuting here in Seattle, and they will also help keep your bike riding through the woods as well.
I just had the best shoe shopping experience ever. I had an exceptional salesperson, Arieh, help me find the right pair of running shoes, he got me into a much better (who knew I was a wide?) size and made it quick and easy and pleasant bringing out 3 perfect options. He was the best!
I ve always loved this store. Not only does our member dividend always make for fun spring shopping and I love the guarantee on all the products, they allowed me to exchange a cracked suitcase damaged by baggage handlers, no problem. Never change REI, you are the best.
Sign up for their email list, check their REI Outlet page online, and browse their clearance racks at the store. If you are patient, you can get some incredible deals on name brand clothing.
Once a year, they have a "Garage Sale" in the basement of this flagship store. The best deals can be found at that time, but from what I hear, you'll need to be comfortable with "door buster" crowds. Ask an REI representative for more details about timing for the Garage Sale.
The store was pretty busy, so the wax technician, Jared ended up helping me, he couldn't have been more helpful in trying on a million pairs of boots. The store overall os obviously great but the customer service was unexpectedly great.
Flagship store, with everything and more for the outdoors.
This is a GREAT place for all of your outdoor activities for supplies and gear.
Huge location with amazing selection. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly! Only downside is finding the entrance is a bit confusing so be patient and look out for the signs!!
We love REI! And the Flagship is just wonderful, inside and out.
Freaking HUGE!!! and I love the loft upstairs where you can buy secondhand equipment for 1/2 price or better! Well done
Though not exactly an apples to apples comparison, this is hands down the most awesome REI store I've been to. They have by far the largest selection of any other store in the West Coast, and the coolest layout. The constant is the friendly and knowledgeable staff that is ready to help make your shopping experience that much better. If you're in the area, I'd recommend stopping by even if it's only to check out the place, though chances are, you'll leave with another piece of quality gear or expert advise for your next adventure.
Whatever you need for outdoor living. Great advice, great gear, reasonable prices. Don't forget about the ranger station for all outdoor advice and concerns.
Large REI with a larger than normal selection and helpful staff. Free parking is nice, but it is hard to get to with traffic.
It was my first trip to this magical store, and I could not have had a more wonderful experience.
Victoria quickly helped me understand that my backpack had a lifetime brand warranty on things such as zippers, before sending me to customer service for more information.
Then Rob at customer service quickly diagnosed my zipper problem and fixed it with a pair of pliers he had in his pocket!
If I was not blown away by his service enough yet, he then offered to add back a couple straps that had fallen off my zippers.
Such a wonderful experience, in a wonderful store, nestled inside a forest in downtown Seattle!
Seattle flagship store. Worth seeing if you are a outdoors person. Get fitted for boots here by Brant, EXCELLENT EXPERT HELP!!!!!!!
I went in today to pick up some mountaineering boots, and was helped by Tom in the climbing section. I can't recall a time when I received better assistance from a representative at any any retail establishment. He took his time with me as we tried many different boot sizes and configurations, and I never got the sense that he was in a hurry or wanted anything other than to help me find a great-fitting boot. Thank you Tom! You really know your stuff, and it shows!
The very best REI location. The mountain bike test area in front is neat. HUGE clearance section. Free parking all day Sunday and an hour free on the other days. Every staff member who helped us knew where to find what we were looking for. Special shoutout to Justin who picked out new hiking and trail running shoes for me and my husband.
Amazing service; helped ship my bike across the country.
Amazing place. Everyone in the store went the extra mile for me to make sure I had hiking shoes that were great. Got some from clearance whose soles were falling apart and Chuck on the bottom floor glued them together for me -- and some other staff helped me clean them!! Can't recommend this place highly enough, they're really invested in your well-being.
Absolutely amazing REI. Even has a mountain bike trail around the store.
Somehow I always overspend here! It's expensive, but worth it.
Everything you need for camping and every outdoors activity. Heaven for that. Friendly staff always welcome.
Friendly and extremely helpful staff. They help you get what you need and what works best for you.
The service was very good at the Seattle REI can't say the same for the one in Tacoma where the manager was quite rude to us when we asked them to get a item that was up high because the floor version was scratched up pretty badly. The Seattle REI looks great with much more selection than any other camping store. They also had a loading area where they helped us find the item we bought and taught us how to use it. The employees are friendly and even gave us extra information on the item we bought to make sure we didn't damage it while putting it on and taking it off our car.
This bullshit right here. We missed the closing time by less than an hour and were told it would be 20 minutes to be let in. It's been over 2 hours since the we called to get our car and it's cold outside. Absolutely won't be shopping with REI again if this is the kind of service they wish to associate themselves with.
Love this place. Has the best selection out of all the REI stores I've ever been to.
This REI location is not only the best place to shop for all things outdoors, the flagship store is a fun experience in and of itself with a rock climbing wall (and regular rock-climbing classes), workshops for the community on outdoor how-to's and an inventory that is unmatched.
The flagship REI store in Seattle is one of my favorite stores. It has all of your outdoor adventure needs. I started mountaineering last year and was able to pick up everything I needed. I have a pretty sweet dividend from all of my trips to the store. Parking is provided for free for one hour but the drive out can be a pain if you catch evening rush hour.
Everything in one place, pleasant ambiance friendly staff although not always very efficient.
It is said to be the first place to open...It is a large-scale store with a bicycle test trail and an artificial rock climbing complex sports store.
What an amazing store! From hiking to snowshoeing this place has it all. A huge selection of equipment. No outdoor enthusiast should visit Seattle without stopping here.
Wow!!! What a place this is!!
It is 2 very large stories with everything for every outdoors sport that comes to mind. In addition to just a "wow" experience outside, they also a test drive area for bicycle purchases. There is also a urban forest with a delightful little foot path. I am not sure if this is the flagship store or not, but it certainly far exceeds what I would think of when I think of a flagship store.
Worth seeing and experiencing if you like the outside sports.
Easily found what I was looking for. Salesperson was friendly and helpful.
Excellent service, I always find the right products! Thank you guys
amazing store which more than store is an experience!
The flagship store - it has everything. Including very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended for outdoor enthusiasts.
Great place for camping and outdoor equipment. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices seem a little high but it is a co-op and you get 10% back if you are a member so it isn't too bad.
I have been a member for 20 years. Could not bring my 12 lb dog in with me. However he is welcome at Fairhaven books. Bye bye REI, your attitude sucks.
Amazing store with amazing people. The things you get to see and experience are great.
Got amazing new hiking boots and good customer service!
Great place. Could spend hours here, and I hate shopping.
Beautiful store! The perfect stop for all your outdoor needs. The store features a rock climbing wall, large fountain, small restaurant and even a forest ranger at a desk!
The store is massive with a huge collection. You will get everything you need for camping, hiking, biking, skiing and many many more sports. The staff are very friendly and co-operative. The collection is amazing. One stop for any recreational activity. Also, the place is so well set up - trail for trying out bikes, fireplace, a climbing pinnacle.
Complimentary parking. Friendly employees. Clean and sanitized environment. Although there is always a wait in line to get checked out, the good customer service and great shopping experience is well worth it.
REI flagship store, for all your outdoor needs. Check out the wall, or test ride a new bike. They've got you covered!
Today I went to REI for the 1st time in really enjoyed my experience it fell just like home I just recently moved here from New York and have been a outdoors men all my life walking into the store was Very comfortable and relative to the business. Play I think if they didn't give you such a realistic store front I probably would have bought anything today but I was sold on my experience and the wonderful help that I had today. Thank you Chad for helping me with my new pair of sunglasses a hammock and discussing about the headlamps. Chad is a great sales representative for the store and we need more people like Chad. Thanks again.
The store is huge. It has a great variety of camping gear clothing, daypacks - you name it.
It is located in a busy area so parking can be an issue.prices r a bit high but if you are a rei member you can use a member discount.
Between the terrible traffic and the terrible checkout experience, I would never go back to this store again. I refuse to shop at any store where I have to wait 25+ minutes to pay them money. Ridiculous line set up at check out.
Do they really need such an excess amount of employees standing around, basically begging to help when you are just trying to look around?! So annoying! I got so annoyed when I was in there earlier that I decided not to buy my items. There were more employees than customers in there. I understand that a lot of corporations expect the employees to ask every customer if they need help, but seriously, how are you going to ask someone if they need help with anything two seconds after another employee within earshot just asked the same question!? Are they trying to scare people off?
Great store, huge range for a lot of stuff.
The staff is extremely friendly but not always professional.
Bottom line - the perfect store for the average hiker and trekker.
A must visit for anyone who likes outdoor activities
One of my favorite places to shop. Knowlgeable people, great products, well tested, always reliable.
Been a member forever. Got a better deal than I could find online for my New York Kryptonite lock.
This place is a bit on the pricy side but you might be able to find good things for good prices in clearance sections.
What an experience. I'm going on my first 3 day camping/hiking trip and decided to get real gear rather than just whatever for day hikes. Having no real knowledge on shoes or packs I went in armed with the internet at my fingertips. To my surprise; it wasn't needed. Andy, with his 11+ years at REI and vast experience held my hand and guided me through everything I needed help with. I gave him a price range, and he not only found me packs that fit my body.... but he spent an hour teaching me how to wear, strap, pack, and EVEN PROPERLY WALK with a loaded pack. Unreal. And he blew it off like this was a normal customer experience. If this was a normal customer experience, I couldn't help but recommend this store to anyone and everyone. This is not just a great camping store, this is a great business that offers unparalleled service when compared to other businesses. I went at 5pm on a Saturday during peak hours and still received this level of service. Props to Andy and the REI team.
What's not to love? Great gear, huge store, awesome vibe.
Poor customer service and bicycle maint. Lost my bike, gave my the runaround, passed the blame around, and then after all the mistakes and loss...offered to sell me a new bicycle at 40% off???
Climbing wall, indoor trails, huge product selection for all your outdoor adventures, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Highly recommended location
Friendly, parking on site, great selection. Fun to visit with a child.
As far as rei's go, this one has it all. That being said it is also a large store in a downtown location. Parking is free for the first hour and then there is a fee. Overall they have a large selection for all your outdoor needs.
Really awesome outdoor shop. They offers help desks for a great variety of equipments: bikes, snowboards, sleeping bags, climbing shoes, etc. The store is huge, and the lot is even more amazing there s a bike trail around the complex. Parking lots are plenty and free for a reasonable amount of time. Head to espresso vivace next door for coffee!
Beautifully designed flagship store with any type of outdoor apparel or equipment you might need. They also do rentals of camping gear.
