Nice, large rooms, staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is really good and the swimming pool and spa is a great addition.

Large room. Walk in shower on ground floor requested originally allocated third floor room and only when asked contingency plan for evacuation if there was a fire room changed to first floor. Only problem was still needed lift and engineers working on lift and was going to be at least 20 minutes. Other route had three steps to negotiate with a wheeled walker!
Swimming pool and jacuzzi lovely as was steam room.
More staff training required as initial reply to how I would be evacuated if there was a fire was to use lift!

Was lovely for a weekend away, not much very nearby, would stay there again.

It was ok, bar was expensive, food in the restaurant was very good however staff should be more attentive to customer's rather than setting up for breakfast and ignoring them.

Nice hotel good food. No draft beer only lager. Do have bottle beer. Very quiet good swimming pool and fitness club.

Lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms and beds. Helpful friendly staff but food left much to be desired. Breakfast food was cold and dinners overcooked.

What a lovely place! Right on my doorstep and I've never been in there. Went for a Christmas meal and the service was excellent. The food was excellent too. Must go back there soon. Highly recommended!

Went to Christmas lunch with members of a club on 5th December. The room was well laid out and staff were good. The food was not to a good standard. The soup was lukewarm but worst was the "turkey with all the trimmings" the vegetables, carrots, sprouts and swede were seriously undercooked, I couldn,t even get the fork into the sprouts or carrots. The turkey was wrapped in fatty bacon and the stuffing was an inferior sausage. Lots of plates were returned with food on them. Very disappointed.

Nice comfy hotel ,a bit out of the way in Berkshire, I have been to better hotels but also to worse for this price range ,staff were very nice,but did seem understaffed especially for breakfast. The restaurant was good in the evening ,serving up some tasty food,and the leisure facilities were fine.

Lovely hotel with high quality facilites. I have been there on a business trip and I would really recommend it. Big room, confortable bed and the staff was very welcoming

We stayed here for one night and we found it nice and comfortable, and it s located not very far by car from Newbury & Newbury race course.

The bedroom was spacious & warm, possibly a bit too warm but with adjusting the radiator valve it was a more comfortable temperature.

Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and it offered various cold foods, juices, tea & coffee and the hot buffet was sausages, bacon, beans, hash browns, toast & mushrooms.

The hotel staff were very nice & polite and I would return again.

I stayed in a really nice room (although overly hot even with the radiator switched off, and the full-length windows weren't secure to be left open all night).

I had a bit of trouble with the lift - the doors took ages to shut (they kept closing and opening again) and I had a momentary scare that I was trapped but it started moving again just as I was about to press the alarm. Use the stairs if you can!

Otherwise, the place is well-appointed and presented, other than a musty, armpit sort of smell in one of the first floor corridors (this didn't penetrate into the room).



I've stayed here before and will look it up next time I'm looking for a room in the area.
