First off, I'm from Texas, and unfortunately, have never been to this store in person. However, I was talking with Adam Ogden, the Regional Operations Manager that covers Red Wing in my area, when we were in the local store in Lawton, Oklahoma earlier this week. (Very friendly guy, by the way.) As we talked about the boots I was sending back to Red Wing for some repair guy magic, he asked if I'd ever been to the main store in Red Wing. I hadn't, so he explained the twice a year Armory sales, and the "big basement" where seconds can be purchased, year round. After I left the local store, I called the Red Wing store, just to see if they'd give me an idea of 'why I need to fly to Red Wing'. Unfortunately, I do not remember the guy's name to got my phone call, but he was AWESOME! He answered all my questions, then offered to check the basement for me. I explained what I was looking for and he zipped down to the basement to see what they had. He then tagged/held a couple pair for me, while I decided whether or not to purchase them. Today, I called back, got another AWESOMELY helpful guy on the phone, and purchased my 8111s, firsts, with Nitrile Cork soles (love the old soles more than the Vibram). Bottom line: Although I haven't visited in person, so can't comment on the in-person service in the store... the employees I talked to treated me as if I were family (depending on your family, even better even than that). They went above and beyond. Thanks so much!

Awesome experience and the entire town is worth exploring as well. Not always the best prices though. I tried on some boots here and ended up buying them online through Sierra for cheaper.

If you are looking for the wonderful quality of the classic Red Wing boot or shoe, this is the place to go. They also have a huge shoe where you can take a photo. They seem very helpful and knowledgeable with a huge selection.

Great place to visit if you are first timer or just visiting Minnesota. It is also a great place to go if you love Red Wing boots. Me and my family wear them and love them so we went here. It was pretty cool getting to see how they are made and see all the other products they have. I Definitely recommend going to visit here before you leave Minnesota or you leave the town. Even if you don't or can't buy a pair of boots or anything, the trip and the visit is still pretty worth it.

Red wing makes terrible women s shoes, all of them have cloth eyelets that break prematurely. My local franchise owner was aware of the issue but red wing shoes didn t even send back a personal email. I received a stock email reply about a week after my complaint and then never received a reply to my response. Seriously the worst customer experience I ve had in years. I will never buy red wing shoes again. Don t expect them to stand behind their products, they will do anything not to.

Pretty interesting place, home to the world's largest boot. It's really neat to see the history of the company as well.

Picked up my first pair of Red Wings in close to 35 years...$49. Factory seconds, hey value is value. Wonderful store, appears to have everything Red Wing Shows has to offer.
If you have REALLY big feet, the size 638 1/2 d could possibly be had.

I purchased a pair of boots today off of a red wing shoe truck that comes to my work. when i got home i realised that they didnt fit very well. so i went to the redwing store and was able to return them with no questions asked. the ladys in there were very helpfull in helping me select a good American made boot that was suited for my needs. +A in my book!

The best customer service I have ever experienced!!! I called to order a boot since my local stores didn't have it in stock. Kelly told me all about the boots they offered, asked what I was looking for and the purpose of the boot, and made me a recommendation. I ordered the boot from her and it came in quicker than expected (always a plus) and even included a hand written note from Kelly!! Great job, Red Wing! Thank you for employing the best of the best! You can feel artsy vibe in the downtown and nearby. In particular, the Red Wing Pottery Museum was engaging.

Spectacular. Small town in the State of Minnesota, on the banks of the Mississippi; very quiet and very friendly people. Really worth visiting

First and foremost, the gigantic boot was quite cool along with the little museum setup upstairs. The main lobby is larger than most Red Wing shoe stores. The biggest surprise is downstairs where they sell factory seconds of current and discontinued models. As for my rating, it has to do with customer service or the lack of it. I was walking around the main floor for several good minutes on a slow Tuesday afternoon and I was not greeted once by the first or second sales associate. The first sale associate was helping a customer and as he got up to retrieve something, he literally walked past me and did not even give me a simple "Did someone already help you?" or "Someone will be right with you" or "How is it going?" In addition, there was another sale associate who walked behind me as I was looking at their boots to converse with another customer. As a flagship store, I find it very disappointing to say the least. Now, as for the two stars, it finally took three sales associates to acknowledge me. He was a younger individual and he was good, very polite and full of energy. Honestly, the first two gentlemen should learn a thing or two from him regarding customer service, maybe it might help the flagship store bring in more revenue. Also, the younger sales associate downstairs was a delight to talk with.

Red Wing was such a delight. Not only was the store massive with all the selection you could ask for, the sales people really were amazing. They definitely went above and beyond the call of boot-ie. The town of Red Wing itself is super cute, and worth the trip just to check out a cute town on the river. The store is cool, and all the boots look dope af. I would recommend this as a day trip, and check out Jimmy's at the St. James hotel nearby afterwords for a cocktail!

Winter in Red Wing is cold but the people are warm and friendly. Definately enjoying our stay and visit to the Red Wing Museum and local shops and restaurants.

Great visit, stayed at the Candlelight Inn B&B. Highly recommend visiting Red Wing, plenty to do and see.

Love coming to Red Wing to explore the quaint shops, antique stores, the Red Wing Shoe store, and the Bluffs. Love the small town feel as well as the unique stores. A great day trip, or even a long weekend getaway.

Kids love checking out the "world's largest boot" and the boot museum. Quality products.

Lots of interesting and quirky shops too explore, also great parks to hike around right in the city. It is a clean and friendly place. Just be aware most stores and shops close early, before 6 during the week.

Very cool there is actually a museum upstairs, as well as the famous big boot.

We came here for the novelty of going to the original Red Wing. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience for us.

We were there today, June 14 , 2018. Herman, the Red Wing Shoe store employee was very nice and got my boyfriend in the right shoe based on what he needed boots for . I also love that he wasn't pushy in helping us.

TIPS: go downstairs to the outlet store FIRST and THEN up to take a selfie and THEN to the regular price shoe store.

this is a fun place to go if you want a good quality pair of boots or shoes they have a museum on the top floor and a discount area in the basement with seconds there's really nothing wrong with them just about half the price sales staff are friendly and will actually help you find the shoes to fit you for your needs there is the world's largest boots also on display nice store good quality products if you want the boots that are made in Red Wing Minnesota not in China look for the White Tag.

The boot really is the best part of this. Every Minnesotan should go see it at least once. The little museum wasn t too impressive (much smaller than expected) but overall well done. The selfie spot is a really nice feature.

The staff is very knowledgeable about the products. You can get a personalized fitting of your feet to find the right shoe. I bought from the basement, where they have amazing deals on shoes that are discontinued or factory rejects. I love my boots! The museum upstairs is pretty interesting, but nothing to right home about.
