Visited in late April. Garden is all outdoors and nice for walking. There were not many colorful or exotic flowers or landscaping sculptures that you might find in other botanical gardens. Overall would not recommend. Cost is average at $10 for adults.

Every section was so beautiful and interesting. All of it had neat information about the foliage and artwork being displayed. I now want to buy a years pass just so I could see it more frequently.

This place is amazing!! The grounds are very well manicured, and there are trails around the back that explore the native flora. Bring water and sunscreen if you are going. There is not a lot of shade.

The concert itself was amazing. However, before it started the security person came over & said the backs of our chairs were too high. The legs were not low to the ground like some but the backs were low. There were other chairs all over the place with higher backs than ours but they sat lower. But if placed side by side each would be just as high as the other. Security told us to fold up the chairs & that there were "complaints". This all happened before the concert started. The concert finally started & everyone stood to their feet. The people behind us were not even sitting on chairs, they were laying down! For the remainder of the concert most of the crowd stood. I either had to stand or sit on the ground behind a standing crowd. I would understand if people actually were sitting down, but they were not. In between the opening act & the main event, I decided to take the chairs to the car so there wouldn't be so much to carry in the dark, since I couldn't use them. The security stopped me at the gate & said no reentry. However, if I was a smoker I could have gone out & got back in. Also, there is no where on the web site that says what time the gates open for a concert.

We came on a free day in December, and it was beautiful. Our three-year-old loved running along all the paths, and we were surprised that the whole garden is 100 acres. It was nice to be above the inversion. We definitely will be visiting again.

The gardens are lovely and staff was pleasant. Great place for couples or families. Would likely be 5 stars, but the Orangerie, Fragrance Gardens and Rose Gardens were all closed off for weddings/private events, and there was no warning that half of the gardens wouldn't be open at all, and we were disappointed to miss out on those.

We attended Garden After Dark. It was such a very fun family oriented activity. Modeled after Dumbledore's Hogwarts, it taught the children to appreciate plant and their amazing importance in our lives.

Beautiful garden!! And it was a great day. I went at end of April soninwas very sad I miss the roses. It would have been spectacular. Thank you free admissions that Friday. I forgot who sponsored it that day though. Definitely a great time there and a small hike up.

This place is the best! Kids love the play area and hiking around. It's so beautiful and great for taking pictures. Highly recommend getting a membership if you have a large family or plan on going more than a few times. I have seven people and it costs the same to go once without the membership as it does to just buy it.

Beautiful place for both peaceful and scientific minds, managed by University of Utah. This place hosts summer and winter events and plant sale during spring. Outdoor amphitheater hosts summer music concerts. Great place for picnic and sight seeing. Fragrance and medicinal garden adds flavours to the place. Apart from garden this place also has small hiking trails up the mountain. Good view of city can be seen from the top of trail.

There is a huge variety of flowers and other lush plants, both garden and desert. It is very spacious with lots to enjoy, including a hike that provides an excellent, elevated view above the city.

Great place for a family gathering and morning. Lately they've had the Lego exhibits out which are fun! Great for kids. Easy to see and notice as well as a good variety of sculptures. We spent a good three, four hours here exploring. I especially enjoyed the variety of plants. The whole trail is well shaded so it's a good activity in the middle of summer on a sunny day. You'll only get fried at the water conservation garden which is like a desert so there's not a whole lot of shade trees. There's also a neat children's garden with a splash pad. Neat little jungle gyms and huts for kids to play in. Fragrance garden is actually fragrant unlike other gardens I've been to. The one suggestion is make is to have more benches throughout the various gardens. Some had a good amount but in other parts I'd go a while without having anything to rest with. Great garden!

This was a great garden! We went on some of the trails in the back up the hill and we saw a rattle snake. He did not bother us because we didnt bother him but it was incredible to see such untouched nature so close. The flowers and set up was amazing.

I love LOVE red butte gardens!!!! IT is the most beautiful place, BUT I'm really frustrated because every time I've tried going there this summer, they have been closed due to concerts! I wish they would just pick one day a week that they do concerts and close the park instead of doing it randomly, because it seems to always be the day I am available to go!!

Pricey, but worth every penny. Breathtaking gardens, creative arrangements and displays. Very well kept and very clean. If I could I would go there every day, I instantly fell in love with it.

The amphitheater here is a fun little venue that has some great concerts, and at low prices. Be sure to bring some lawn chairs, or you may have a hard time seeing, the amphitheater isn't very steep sloped.

The gardens are also an incredible sight to see! So enjoyable to walk around. Be aware that the amphitheater is NOT in the gardens, they are separate.

Better than your average garden. Though it's easy to get tired of reading about each plant, it's a pretty place to take a walk. It's nice that they have different areas with different focuses; the rose garden is pretty straightforward, but I was delighted by the areas of medicinal plants and smelling plants. The Lego exhibition they have going on is impressive and integrates better into the garden than you would think.

Just too expensive. If I was to have taken a class about plants or water conservation or something, I should pay for that. But for just being there yo walk around and enjoy the displays. Even purchasing something from a show without attending the talk portion of the show. Or purchasing from the store. Why would I need to pay so much for an entrance fee? I wont go back as often as I'd like because of that.

Tash Sultana was everything we hoped for. Her art and passion exuded through her entire perfomance. Thank you for sharing. Love the bass! I can't say enough about what a fabulous evening it was. The venue as always never disappoints.

I love Red Butte Gardens, both for peaceful exploration and learning new plants, but I especially love the Orangerie. I wrote my dissertation proposal there. The event calendar is usually up to date so you know when the Orangerie is available to get some work done.
It's always cool and beautiful, with fresh air (destressing!), but the quiet levels are hit or miss. School kid tours are occasionally loud, but often become respectful when they enter the space. Staff meetings occur as well, but I don't begrudge them.
The only truly unpleasant noise levels occur when the event planners are touring prospective couples/parents through-- they talk loudly and are possessive of the space. I understand the desire to rent the space (makes good money!), but please be considerate of others enjoying the space when it's not rented!
