It's been years since we've been here. They have done a beautiful job with all the gardens.

The Red Butte Gardens is a perfect venue for weddings. They have many different areas to choose from and they are all gorgeous!

The gardens themselves are fantastic, but the prices are ridiculous. Today we went to see the Bonsai exhibit. Advertised till 5pm we arrive to find out it was over at 3 and the girl already made us pay the $14 each for the exhibit. Absolutely lame.

Wear good shoes; lots of hills to hike. Wonderful views.

Even when the weather is ever changing this time of year, you can still find beauty in this wonderful garden. From the top of the hill, looking out over the grounds, to the wonderful collection of fruit trees and herbs and spices, to the truly romatic rose garden, this place is one of my favorite getaways. Weather will be warming up soon and with that the flowers will be out in force! Make a day trip up there and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Fun place to see a large amount of the life throughout Utah.
While the fauna is limited to ducks, otters, and an abundance of flying insects (so many friendly bees!), their interactions with all the areas was quite enjoyable.
There are plenty of benches and shady places to relax and take in the splender.

Beautiful place for concerts. It s small enough that you can take a blanket and picnic to lay out on the grass or your own chair. It s got great views of the salt lake valley as well. When we went you can also take your own alcohol and beer or wine.

I, have a "Black Thumb" and kill practically everything I touch, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy an amazing garden such as this. It was a real treat to visit.

The free tram tour is very informative and I would suggest you take it before you head out on your own. The docent was very knowledgeable, sweet and kind. She answered all of our questions and was quick to point out her favorite areas that we might want to go and see.

It is hill-y. My 80 year old father walks with a cane so exploring was a little difficult for him. My Mom is 77 and is a good walker. She really enjoyed exploring the Garden.

There's so much to see and do here for plant lovers and beauty lovers alike. The Red Butte Gardens are a "Must See"!!

I'm not big on gardens, but this was really interesting. They separated everything into different sections, so plants with scents were in one section, roses where in another, etc. The kids section was super cool. They also had beautiful walkways with picnic areas everywhere. The walkways were on a slope that can get really steep at times. U of U students get in free.

A beautiful and tranquil space to enjoy with your family or by yourself. This is a perfect location for tourists and locals to see native plants and children will have a fun time.

I am a student at the University of Utah and generally I do not have to pay a fee to enter the garden. However, for their "Garden After Dark" I had to pay a fee of $ 12 to get in and my son was free since is under 2. When I left I did not feel that $12 was worth it and will no be paying to take my son next year. I had heard good things about it and that is why I decided to take my son but, it really was not worth the money. I also heard others say the same that this years "Garden After Dark" was not worth the money and not nearly as good as previous years. Also they advertised face painting and the line was very long and did not move and it was because there was only two face painters there. The light displays were not anything fancy, in fact half of them were not even working and I could not even see in the dark.

Lived here 22years and had never been. Came up for family visit and had a wonderful visit.

Garden after dark was wonderful! My 2 and 5 year olds loved it so much we made the loop twice - the 2nd time not using the stroller! My youngest couldn't get enough of the children's garden.

Beautiful all year long. Mostly misc vegetation rather than just flowers.

It's always so kept up and maintained. Definitely a little slice of heaven!!

A local treasure. Today was their annual plant sale. We stock up every year with fantastic garden perennials and herbs.

Fun places for kids to play - a walk-in fountain, giant lizards to climb on, and a garden maze. Rest rooms, benches in rose gardens and herb gardens. A gift shop with toys and cook books.

Great place to wander with kids and enjoy a beautiful garden. There is a specific area for kids with a splash pad, maze, and sandbox as well as some other fun features.

Great garden and peaceful atmosphere but the fact that they close early on concert days made me reconsider my decision to buy membership next year.

No matter the season, the garden is AMAZING! The garden is always changing and there is always something new! The staff is great! Fantastic events like the Summer Concert Series and Garden After Dark that we look forward to and has become a family tradition. I wish they would do a Christmas light event!!

I would like to come back during blooming time. As is the trails are beautiful. I had a great time. Lovely view of Utah.

I love the garden. Staff are friendly, the gardens are Gorgeous and very Peaceful. They even have garden concerts.

Red Butte Garden has so much to offer. Beautiful gardens to stroll in, a darling gift shop, amazing event venues, a summer concert series which is my favorite concert venue in Utah. Outside of not having dog friendly hikes, there is little I would want that Red Butte does not offer. Entrance is also free to students of the University of Utah. I have visited many times, year round and always leave happy.

I first visited this place over a decade ago for a Suzanne Vega show. Now that I'm back in the area, I went for Howard Jones and Men Without Hats. The gardens are lovely, though I admittedly give more attention to the amphitheater. In regard to view and acoustics, I've always been able to find a location somewhere in the open seating that fits my desire for both. The food is good as well, though you are allowed and encouraged to bring your own as well. The scenery is gorgeous. They always have a wide selection of musical styles showcased every year. Well worth the trip.

I love going to the garden! It's always fun to walk around and see all of the beautiful flowers and plants. Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful garden! Loved the herb/fragrance/medicinal gardens specifically. Only about $15 per person. Wished we could have seen the Rose's bloom too.

Had a blast! We have been there before but not with the Legos. My boys still would rather climb the trees than look at the plants but we talk about the different kinds and than at the end we lead them to the amazing children's garden and let them run

This is a beautiful spot to visit or host a wedding, the garden is amazing and fairly large, it takes a good couple of hours to walk through and admire everything. The staff is very pleasant to deal with, my sister-in-law got married here and the catering was great, the reception area was very clean, air conditioned, had big windows so you can see the garden and they even had men's and women's changing rooms.

Garden after dark in a shadow of what it used to be. No onsite crafts, and it seemed focused on pumping headcount through a prescribed path more than being focused on learning and wild crafting. Barely anything really garden about it, lots of fake plant scenery that didn't add to the experience. No fun anymore.

Must visit place in Salt Lake City. Good hiking trails. Beautiful gardens. Wear tennis shoes so that it is easy to hike the higher grounds as the garden is on the foot hills of the hill.

Great place to visit when in Salt Lake City. The views are amazing and the walk through the gardens were nice. We were killing time before dinner and could have missed it having fun exploring everything.

A must visit in Salt Lake City! The sheer variety of plants, especially the topmost section of desert plans with all the colorful flowers. Some of them need water as less than once a month!

Early morning would be the best time to visit as there are not a lot of shady places to help bear the afternoon sun. Don't forget to pre-book upper timeslot for visit.

Great venue for concerts. Entirety of Red By the Gardens is well-kept and beautiful.

Lovely venue, especially when you get treated to Concert Club seats on the upper level. Parking is a bit crazed as everyone is trying to be in the same place at the same time.

I would have to say this is my favorite Utah venue..been goin to shows there since 2001. Always a treat
