I really enjoy walking there trails and seeing and smelling the plants. There is poetry on posts scattered along the trails, and it's updated from time to time. All the plants are well labeled. We spent 5 hours at a leisurely place, studying the plants and labels. It's a great way to visit with old friends.
This beautiful garden is one of my favorite places in the world. I find peace walking its well planned and maintained paths. There's something different every week. I'm so glad it's here in Salt Lake City.
Steve Miller Concert was average, low energy...sound was not adequate. Prices for a $24 burger...humm a bit too high for my budget. Beautiful Venue
They do a nice job here.
The grounds are beautiful, and clean.
Outdoor concerts in the summer are wonderful.
Came here with a friend going to school at the U, she got in free. Caught the end of the gardening season and still found a lot of plants we've never seen before. We loved the roses. Came again on a warm winter day and they were closed Dec 24-Jan 1. Missed such a lovely place.
Sound is great, views are beautiful, bands are great!
Wonderful place to be outdoors around gorgeous plants.
The gardens are amazing and well worth a visit, but they entrance fees are high and are not consistent with what they advertise. Also, they could really use a garden railroad or something interactive to hold the interest of kids.
This is one of salt lakes best outdoor music venues. The sound quality is good, and the atmosphere is wonderful.
Warm your heart during this nighttime, family tradition as you walk through Rock City Gardens' winter wonderland. The finest heirloom, certified organic and specialty vegetable, flower and herb seeds for the home garden.
Very Beautiful. Exceeded our expectations. So many plants that were all well labeled. Kids loved the Lego statues and app game available at the time we went through. The nature trails up the mountain were so fun
Love coming here in every season. The Bonsai Show was amazing and inspiring.
Beautiful and relaxing. Great with kids especially this summer (2018)because of the incredible Lego creations on display through September. Fairly hilly, but if you have a hard time walking there are free golf cart rides with a guide.
I was hired to Dj a wedding here and it was the easiest venue I ve worked with. The staff were attentive and ready to help. They made sure I had everything I needed. They even let me use a cart so I didn t have to take 5 trips. Not to mention it was a beautiful venue.
Fun and fabulous venue! What a great place to catch a concert :-)
Amazing outdoor venue for concerts! You can bring in outside food, drinks and alcohol! They have a Lyft/Uber dropoff and pickup area too. Thumbs way up!
Beautiful gardens. Just the right size so you don't get too tired exploring. I recommend going in the spring when it isn't too hot.
Beautiful gardens combined with incredible views of the entire Salt Lake valley. A great way to spend few hours or a day. Be warned the whole garden is on the mountain so you are constantly walking up or down hill but it is so worth it.
How lucky we are to have this wonderful place in our city!!!
Oh my ... absolutely beautiful!! My grandson was captivated by everything!! A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty!
Lovely and meditative. One of our favorite places.
Lovely place to come walk around, see the sights and clear your mind.
Love visiting here at all times of the year. Awesome design and easy to navigate
My first time at red butte won me over. Absolutely beautiful. Like a dream. We'll definitely be going back because we didn't see it all last time. My daughter loved the flowers, my son enjoyed looking for lego statues, and I'm thinking date night with the hubby.
Beautiful nature any of the 3 seasons. If you yearn piece and quiet in nature be sure to avoid the summer concert days/evenings. However if the concert admits earlier than concert time might be a way to get in and walk around on the concert ticket price...Main drawback is senior admission to gardens only was $12 on a weekday this week. Seems a bit steep for seniors on a fixed income. Having just turned bonifide senior age last month age am finding senior discounts are still pretty expensive.
Best venue I've ever been to. Bring your own food and drink? Doesn't get better than that. Then there's the views.
nice place to walk around. lots of flowers and herbs
How could anything be better than walking in a beautiful acre garden. Spent my 23rd year here and it was the perfect relaxing day
Great spot to spend a Saturday when in Salt Lake. Walking around a beautiful collection of all kinds of plants from flowers to ferns to herbs you use in the kitchen, you will be smiling the whole time you are there.
Fantastic spot to bring a date, or just to bring a book and read on a shady bench with a breathtaking view of the whole Valley.
Amd with the price so low, you will feel like you are getting way more than you paid for everytime
Just beautiful! I enjoyed my time at Red Butte Garden very much. The gardens are a feast for the senses, but if you prefer, there are wilder trails among the native trees and plants around the property. Many hidden benches, alcoves and picnic tables are found throughout and would be a perfect place for a picnic. The children's garden has a sweet little splash pad and a small ivy maze that are very quaint, so children have a space that caters to them too. There was a couple married there the day that we visited and I can't imagine a more beautiful setting for such an event. There is also a gift shop, but most items, though beautiful and useful, are very spendy. The price of admission isn't inexpensive either, we spent about $35 for two adults and a child. We spent a little over two hours exploring and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Next time we'll plan to take some of the longer perimeter trails that we didn't have time to experience on our first visit so that we can get more bang for our buck.
I love Butte Gardens! We took our granddaughter to the garden adventure today and she absolutely loved it! Planning on going to as many as we can! Thank you Allie & Jaedine for making her time magical!
My goodness, how beautiful, very nice and it has a flow to it
Peaceful, serene and beautiful! Escape to the foothills of the Salt Lake valley to wander seemingly endless pathways to diverse and breathtaking foliage combined with striking views of the Salt Lake valley. Markers along the paths identify each plant, bush or tree so you can increase you knowledge or attempt to duplicate the beauty in your own back yard. A wonderful place to re-establish and center yourself.
Best place in the valley to see a show you never want to go to another venue after this place
Wow!!! THE most impressive gardens I have ever seen and to have Legos placed around for my 6 year old to find...I actually got to see it all! Perfect day, thank you!
We visited free using a county library museum program. It was the less exciting time of year because all the pants were dead and removed. Early winter. But still it was a great experience and I'd love to return in the spring.
Beautiful arboreteum. Many flora and fauna to see and touch at times
Beautiful gardens. We went in April, and would go again. Although a different season would be nice!
One of the most beautiful botanic gardens that I've been to. Very diverse, with individual gardens that flow into each other, there are plants from every corner of the globe, I would highly recommend this stop on a visit to Salt Lake City
A stunning place - a nature walk through beautiful floral arrangements, ponds, and plant life. It is secluded enough to make you feel you are away from the city, yet occasionally, you can look down upon a majestic view of the city.
Gregory Michael Mascitelli visited and loved it. Private event was different. Gregory Michael Mascitelli met with a great religious community.
Was my first visit to this venue.
Stunning grounds to walk... Nice lawn seating and love that you can bring in your own snacks and drinks in an ice chest. Not too big that one feels in no man's land struggling to see the stage... Great time was had.
Very peaceful, especially in the golden hours before closing!
This review is about the Amphitheatre and concert series and not the whole of Red Butte. Personally i think the concert series ticketing system is outdated almost to the point of discriminatory. The whole experience felt like a high school clique from the 1970's. The venue is beautiful, but you can't even go to the actual Gardens with your concert ticket. If I'm spending $60-100 per person, the least you can do is let me enjoy the gardens for free. But because 99% of the tickets go to Garden members, they obviously don't feel the need to allow others in. I interacted with several volunteers and staff and all but one had such a huge superiority complex. Not very friendly at all. Things you should know before your first time... Lines to get in start forming early in the day (6-8 hours before gates open). Everyone brings an umbrella because there is no shade. Bring chairs but there are strict height requirements. You can also bring in food and drinks. Most people pack a cooler. The line goes up the canyon like a quarter mile. They are really strict about no photography. The band that played was fantastic, but the experience is not one I'm looking forward to repeating soon.
Always love visiting Red Butte and today I was lucky enough to stumble upon a goshawk feeding on a pigeon near the ponds!
Scenic walking paths, takes maybe 2 hours unless your doing alot of photography
Red Butte Garden is an oasis in the desert. What a beautiful place to visit! There are walking paths at every turn with beautiful flowers, herbs and trees. I liked discovering plants I did not know and reading the labels with their names. The kids loved the secret paths and the LEGO sculptures, especially the praying mantis. I liked the eagle LEGO sculpture. This is a wonderful place for families, photos, and strolls. There are many benches to stop and just gaze at the beauty of the gardens. We loved our visit there!
Beautiful during all seasons. Has rolling elevation path but overall can be enjoyed by people of all abilities.
Loved the gardens and the free movie showing in the grass amphitheater.
Although there were many people in the gardens it did not seem crowded. Beautiful and enchanting gardens right here in the city.
The gardens and trees were beautiful. The Lego constructs were awesome. I would probably give it a 5 star rating except it was hot and the splash pad for the kids was not working.
One of my favorite botanical gardens in North America. If I lived local I would come regularly to read, pray, wife date ...
Looking forward to post covid so we can enjoy the day exploring the gardens. 1 hour is not enough time.
The fragrance garden was perfect with the many scents I experienced, each unique and lovely. In the emotional and mental well being garden area, I learned more about me and what can assist me. I also enjoyed the Medicinal garden for the same reason.
Overall, I loved it so much, I purchased a membership.
Beautiful scenery, steep if you go right at the gate.
Beautiful year round. Great concerts in the summer.
Garden After Dark was worth it. The kids had fun & I loved that they encouraged adult participation as well.
Great place to visit in SLC. However if a concert is going on, it cuts your time of visiting shorter.
Plants labeled, places to wander or sit and ponder.
Beautiful gardens and the most magical place for concerts
Beautifully maintained garden paths with great variety. Amazing hiking trails and beautiful vistas.
Went to a convert here, the show and venue were amazing
We come here every year and it never ceases to amaze! The plants are all organized into sections and with huge displays. There are so many it's easy to spend a whole day roaming the gardens. The guides are really great and highly knowledgeable. Red Butte is a botanical masterpiece.
My favorite place in the state. Every time i go i wish i had more time to stay.
SUCH a fun, Beautiful, lovely exciting place to enjoy nature, to learn how to steward our environment, see the beauty, engage a wholesome concert,,,,,
We LOVE Red Butte Gardens. A true gem in our crown!!!!!
Thank you for your hard work, it SHOWS. <3
Very well kept garden area with a large variety of plants. Worth a visit.
Very interesting to see the local flora from this area as compared to where I live in NC.
What an AWESOME garden!! So many beautiful varieties and so many great spots to rest amidst the beauty. Two weddings going on when we visited on a weekend.
