Morgan was exemplary in her service to me! I had a concern and she handled it so quickly and with such courtesy and friendliness that I was very impressed. It is rare to be treated in such a positive manner, more's the pity.

I've been a tenant with RPM for a little over 2 years now, and although we are moving, they are still being very helpful. Morgan was who I have spoken with more recently and she is a wealth of knowledge and very personable! She answered all of my questions quickly and even informed me of a few things that made the move-out process a little easier! It is so nice to feel like a human and not just another number to a leasing company! Thank you RMP Tidewater! :)

MC Danner has been so helpful through this stressful process of finding the perfect home! We just got guided to ours and can't wait to step foot in it! This wouldn't have been such an easy task without her!

We rented for 3 years before buying. After reporting MANY trouble calls for an old fridge and mold.
Maintenence did nothing. Poor communication.
Especially during covid. They have conflicting statements in their lease agreement that is not right and wont admit it. Save your money and choose elsewhere.

Sadie at RPM have been a tremendous help with getting thing repaired at the house. She made me feel comfortable, knowing that she stayed on top of everything. She would always make sure what I requested was done. Whether I emailed her or called she always responded back in a timely manner. Thank you Sadie for all of your hard work.

For me communication is everything, because even if the answers are not available right away its good to hear back. Upon applying for our new home Chelsea Gray with RPM Tidewater has assisted us quickly with questions. We were approved fast and moved in fast. I believe she has made our move in much smoother and we appreciated it greatly.

So apparently when you move in somewhere and the weather breaks and it then becomes infested with termites, it's the tenant responsibility. What's the point of maintenance or paying all this money for constant no help? Call with broken concrete tiles under a toilet no help. Call with hundreds and hundreds of termites coming in, no help. Rarely answer the phone, never get anything done. I'm thinking about looking into a lawyer because alot of this seems illegal. Like leaving kids in an apartment infested by termites!!! Horrid service. Do not recommend!

We have been very satisfied with the support and assistance of Maria Nichols, one of the property managers at RPM Tidewater. Because my husband is military we have had to rent sight unseen and from states away. The military does not give us a financial allotment to go house hunting as many businesses and even Government GS workers are given time and money to go house-hunting. Because we are given neither by the US Army we have to rely on companies to communicate accurately and clearly. Maria was very helpful in responding promptly via email to all our questions. She worked with us to secure a rental property and we are very thankful and excited to move to Norfolk! This transition would not have gone so smoothly without the support of RPM and their staff. Thank you!

1 star because i couldnt give zero. We have had nothing but bad experiences with this company. I would not recommend them to anyone. Since the day we moved in weve had issues with the house we are renting. Week one all of the pipes were blocked with drywall due to them hiring cheap contractors to do the remodel. Our house got flooded we were without out water for a few days, couldnt wash the weeks worth of clothes for my babies we had from our move. They broke our dryer from the dryer vent being clogged with lint and birds nests because they didnt believe us when we told them there was one in there, then they would not pay to fix our dryer. Windows dont have locks, the windows dont fit properly, heat and air leak out causing our electric bills to be outrageous. And since march weve been dealing with a leaking roof, every bad rain storm our living room floods and they wont fix it. Not to mention my 2 year old son busted his lip open tripping up the stairs due to the lack of a handrail the city inspectors had told them to put in. The roof is rotten and the ceiling in the living room could collapse on us at any moment. This is unlivable and they dont care to fix anything. They have a horrible maintenance department and we are sick to our stomachs to be in this situation with our babies. These are just a few of the issues we have had. It is nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone at the office and when you do everyone gives you the run around on whats going on. They have constantly set up vendors to come out at a certain day and time and these vendors dont show, i have ended up waiting around all day several times with no shows and no calls. Huge inconvience. Not to mention theyll send one vendor out and then the owner of the property will send a different cheaper vendor out. One vendor even said he will never come back to do a job for them because the cheap vendors they hire are doing bad jobs and then they have to clean up their mess. Or theyll send the good vendors out to tell them whats wrong and then not hire them to do the work cause they have someone else to do it cheaper. That is not ethical. I could go on and on. Do not waste your time and money on this company.

RPM Tidewater has been nothing but helpful. Always quick with responses and creative with solutions. Spring of 2017 we had a cold spell and because of a mixup with Virginia Natural Gas (my fault entirely) the heat wasn't working. Chelsea brought 3 floor heaters on her way home from work. How awesome is that? They consistently go above and beyond, and I appreciate that. Thank you Chelsea and team.

I relocated to the area due to a job promotion. I found a cute property online and had been communicating with the office regularly to inquire about the status and to see when I would be able to view the property. I went by the office to turn in a copy of my Driver's license and social security number in order to be eligible to be considered for the rental property. Upon arrival, I instructed the receptionist that I was there to turn in some paperwork in order to be eligible for a property that I had already applied for online. Ms. Chelsea Gray happened to be in the office at the time with a gentleman. She overheard me speaking with the receptionist and asked me which property I was inquiring about and my name. I responded with the information she requested. She then proceeded to tell me that they had already proceseed some applications because they had received 5 early and that I was the least qualified. She informed me that I would need to pay a month and a half deposit and a $100 risk mitigation fee if approved for any of their properties. She told me that if I was interested in any other properties the $50 application fee would be transferable. However at that point in time, I wasn't interested in doing business with the company due to her rudeness. I told her that I wasn't interested and thanked her.

I understand that the company may have strict qualification standards that they must adhere to and I don't fault them for that. However there is much to be desired when it comes to customer service. The way it should have been handled is for her to tell me that she would get with me after she was done with her client. Once she was done, she should have taken me to a private area and informed me that they decided to go with a candidate that was a better fit with their requirements for that property and then proceeded to show me what was still available and ask me if anything caught my interest. That is just the more respectful and professional way to handle that situation. She could have been having a bad day oraybe she is ignorant to how to deliver good customer service, but regardless the reason...you only have 1 chance to make a first impression.

I don't quite know how someone who makes $85k is the "least qualified" to rent a $1100/month condo and the extra fees meant nothing to me. I was prepared to offer $1350/month for the condo. (I read that negotiation was an option in order to have a more competitive status.) However due to the lack of respect, I'm not interested in anything this company advertises. I will inform my colleagues relocating to this area, not to use this service.

This management company is complete crap. They have no problem working with you and being a great company...until they get you in a lease. After that, it all goes down hill. They don't return your calls, they tell you enough of the truth to get you to do something and then they blast you with extra fees (example coming in a second), and the earliest notice I've received is three days in advance to them coming out and 'inspecting' your property.
As far as extra fees go, if you don't have a direct deposit to take our rent, that's an extra 65-79 dollars on top of your rent. At our last property, we paid with checks. So, when I asked about it, Paul Mosquera told me that I didn't have to pay any certain way. Bullshit. Tell that to the 900 dollar rent that was only supposed to be 675.
Pet fees: When I asked about pet fees, Paul also mentioned 250 dollars non refundable. That was a reasonable price, but bullshit also. I call to ask about deposits and I get told for larger animals it's a non refundable fee of 500 dollars. OH And not only that, but they HAVE to put it on my account now and since it's the most recent charge on my account, when the first comes and my direct deposit for rent comes out, it goes to that and not my rent so I'll be late for rent which is another 79 dollars.
My husband is in the Navy and he was called to go underway this past month. It was short notice, so we haven't had time to get a power of attorney. When I was told that I may have a late fee, I was furious. We haven't been late once on our rent and I don't plan to be because of their stupid charge for a pet. I'd rather keep my home than a frickin' pet. Anyway, I asked if they could wait a week before adding the charge and until my husband got home since they'll only accept checks. They said they won't but they are 'sympathetic'. Are you freakin' kidding me?

I'm pretty sure half of this crap they are trying to pull is not legal as far as military policies go and I'm going to check into it, but serious. If you care about your credit score, not getting money swindled from you and having extra bull crap fees accrue, DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY.
Just my opinion. Happy hunting though.

To whom this may concern:

I would like to show my gratitude towards Chelsea Gray. Chelsea has been the same concerning customer service since I have met her. My two kids and I moved here in 2015 from Columbia, SC and she allowed my move here to be less stressful. She is very professional and informative. I appreciate her for these qualities. She is a great asset to RPM TIDEWATER.

Respectfully,

Terrible management company. Our apartment building had so many issues and the only thing that was actually fixed was a new seal in our kitchen sink after having to put at least three work orders in. We had to deal with lots of cockroaches to the point that we were uncomfortable in our own living room but were told that we would have to pay for pest control ourselves. We were in a the Ghent area of Norfolk paying an expensive rent and should not have had to deal with cockroaches, no hot water, leaking windows, broken washing machines, blowing fuses from using the vacuum, dangerous hanging rain gutters, dirty walkways (stairs), lack of recycling and trash bins, etc. Oh! And I was not given a mail key at move in and was told I would have to pay $35 for a new one when I was never given one in the first place. When we moved out, they subtracted $125 from my depodit because the fan was dusty and they claimed the oven was not clean enough which was not true. I have always gotten my full deposit back because I spend days cleaning and I did the same this time. I have never had to deal with a rental company that cared so little about their residents.

I am disgusted with your level of customer service and your level of care for you clients. You are the absolute worst Property Management company I have ever dealt with in my 20 years of living on my own.

It is clear and evident that you could absolutely not care one single bit about any of your renters or their well being. I should have know you guys were crooks when you told me there was a $150 WEEKEND MOVING CHARGE!!! RPM is in business to make a profit off it's client's, their weakness's and even circumstances they can not control themselves. I honestly do not know how you all sleep at night. You need to go to CHURCH!!! If I am EVER asked about my experience with RPM, I will do everything in my power to let that person know just how crooked, untrustworthy, unethical your company truly is. It's my JOB to save them from doing business with a company like your's.

With much disdain,

Stan Epps Jr.

I recently had an issue with a payment not going through with their new system and had to call the office to complain about it. Though there was nothing they could do about the late fee I received Chelsea Grey replied to my email very quickly. As the first of the next month approached Chelsea sent me an email politely reminding me to take advantage of their auto pay system. She anticipated a potential problem and offered me a solution that could help me avoid a late fee in the future. That extra effort was greatly appreciated.
