Both times I have had to take a pet in for care - one time being somewhat of an emergency - the staff was courteous, caring and responsive. Both pets got great care and so did I. The wait time can be long but it's worth it when you have a sick pet. Emergency vets can be pricey but Medvet Asheville was pretty reasonable. I would recommend them for sure.

My pup had two scary run-ins this year. A dog attacked him new years day then 9 months later a rattlesnake bit him. Both situations were during times his primary vet, and other general vet specialists were closed. SO grateful reach was able to take him in and tend to his injuries. The snakebite was particularly horrifying, but the doctors and staff were able to give him 24-hour observation and care. They even called me and allowed me to call during late hours of the night (12 am 1 am etc) to keep me informed with how he was doing. They treated his injury, pain, and anxiety. (Not to mention my own anxiety. They were very patient with my questions and concerns). By the time he was released from ICU he had befriended the staff and was kissing everyone goodbye, which was all the more comforting to see.

One of my cats kittens needed a blood transfusion but they apparently ran out of cat blood so they put it down and said it was going to die anyway . 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR ANIMALS HERE.

I have been to Reach twice in one week. When we went in the first time they were nice and concerned about our puppy and helped us as much as they could on our budget. The second time we had to take our puppy in they wanted a lot of money and when we told them that we could not afford it then they just wanted us to put our puppy down and my husband to sign a piece of paper say that we refused medical care. Which we didn't refuse medical care we just could not afford their prices.

We had to take our diabetic kitty Chloe here Sunday night due to a low sugar episode and she was throwing up and not eating. I called ahead and they took her right in at 5pm. I will say that I was getting frustrated with no updates but at 11pm Dr. Lindheimer called, apologized for the long wait, explained that they were slammed and that Chloe was stable and that they wanted to keep her overnight to run tests and try to get her re-regulated on her insulin and find out why she is throwing up and not eating. She explained things well and asked lots of questions and explained that while she was off duty, the overnight doctor would be taking care of Chloe and would call in the morning and let me know where they were in her treatment plan and if the plan would need to be tweaked. She gave me an estimate and asked if that was doable in my budget. Chloe is still at the hospital but fingers are crossed that she will have a good outcome. After 2 full days and nights in the hospital, Chloe gets to come home today. Drs. Freikes, Bentley and Krauskopf were wonderful, patient and answered tons of questions and took good care of my baby girl. Thank you all!!

A good place to take your pet to die

A good place to take your pet to die
When my Princess had an urgent medical issue I was referred to Med Vet by another vet. Wanting the best care for my girl Princess we drove 2.5 hours to Asheville. Upon arrival I was informed that the cost to examine her and run test was $950. Covid 19 - social distancing was understandably being used and pets are picked up in the parking lot and you wait in the car for the vets prognosis. After 7hours on a hot summer day sitting in the car as instructed Princess was returned to me and told it would cost an additional $4,500 to $5,000 up front to fix a prolapsed uterus. A friend suggested I call Raburn Vet Hospital. I'm so glad I did! $300.00 and I dropped her off and picked up after surgery 6 hours later. She is home and doing great. My opinion is Med Vet is Greedy and has no compassion for the animals or their humans. I can recommend its a place to put your animal down after sitting in the parking lot for 7.5 hours because I witnessed most of the others in the parking lot being handed a bag and told sorry for your loss by one of the staff.

They are very warm and helpful.

They are very warm and helpful.

However, our bill increased incrementally over time. At the end of the treatment, after we thought we were all paid up, they charged use ANOTHER $300 that we were not told about, despite the fact that they claimed to be transparent about pricing. Our bill went from $1200 to $1600 to $1900. They do a good job but are SUPER expensive, so be prepared to pay a lot.

I wish I had read these reviews before I got ripped off for a $1300.00 spay surgery that was not even necessary, they didn't even fix the problem that was the emergency we went in for and now my fur baby needs another surgery to fix the original issue, I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this place and how they took advantage of us at a very scary time.

Took our GSD to MedVet urgently as she got bitten by a copperhead. They took her in immediately (following guidelines by CDC for cornovirus protection), the Vet called us in our car as we waited and explained his treatment plan. They kept her overnight, calling to update us in the evening and she made a 100% recovery. Picked her up this morning. Thank you all at Med Vet!!!! So appreciate your expertise and compassion!

My dog had a gun shot wound and they say they want to help, but yet they wont help because they want 800 to 1000 dollars for the visit and medication. I have since found a vet that is willing to help for half the price.

We had to take our dogs to REACH on two occasions over the last few years, and both were emergency situations. While one of the outcomes was sad, I cannot say enough positive things about the kindness of their staff and the excellent service they provide. We are grateful they are in Asheville area.

Went in for what turned out to be a minor eye allergy with our elderly dog and the vet pressured us to subject the dog to a risky and invasive (and expensive) procedure, telling us that our dog might go blind. Long waits, poor care, and encourage unnecessary treatments. Use Pet Vet on Patton instead.

I came home Friday afternoon from work and my dog ...

I came home Friday afternoon from work and my dog Spot was not using his back legs anymore. I called my regular vet and they advised me to go to REACH to have him check. I got there around 5:15 and everyone was amazing when we got there. The intake was easy and the employees were very polite. They took my dog straight back and placed him in crate so a Doctor could look at him. Around 6:30 Dr. Ulke came in and gave us horrible news. He had done a Neurological exam on our dog and he had no deep pain sensation left in his legs or tail. He was in a lot of pain. Dr. Ulke was amazing and very sincere. He took his time with us and gave us all the options. We did not leave REACH until 10 pm. They never rushed us and let us spend as much time as needed with Spot before we left for the night. We had multiple employees check on us, hug us, and cry with us.

Spot stayed for an overnight treatment to see if the swelling would go down and he would get any sensation back. I called the next morning around 8 am and Dr. Judi Krauskopf was the vet on duty. She was the one who had to give us the bad news that he had not regained any sensation and that he would probably never regain the functions of his back legs. We did not want him to suffer and be paralyzed and not be able to use the bathroom by himself. We had to do the unbearable. We had to put our beloved Spot to sleep.

We went to REACH around 12 on Saturday. Again, the staff was amazing. The brought him into the room so we could spend a little bit more time with him before we had to say goodbye. He was wrapped up in blankets to keep him warm. When we were ready we let the staff know and Dr. Krauskopf came in. She let us know what was going to happen, how long the process would take, and want to expect. Before we left the offered to put his paw print into a piece of clay so we could have something to remember him by.

I would definitely recommend going to them. They are very sincere and caring (I just received a condolence card in the mail today from them. Haven't even received one from my vets office). Yes, they are a little pricey but what do you expect for an emergency vet??

Please do not read the other comments about how awful they are. Of course they are going to want money upfront. I'm sure there are a lot of people who try to skip out of their bill or not ever pay them. They can't run a business without getting paid.

I have never been around a more compassionate Vet ...

I have never been around a more compassionate Vet than Dr. Hawkins. She treated us with kindness and respect, more than our own vet who had been taking care of our dog. She explained all of our options, both good and bad. She walked us through every procedure they were going to do and fully explained the results. Although we left without our precious baby, they made sure we were taken care of. We were allowed to be with our girl before, during, and after she passed.
I will never hesitate to take another animal to REACH.

I dont believe they helped my dog at all. Every other person in the waiting room was being consoled for the loss of their pet and paying big money on top of that. No one listened to my concerns or acted in deliberate manner. It was 500 dollars for an absolutely ridiculous diagnosis. It's as if I never took him to the vet at all. If you need anything other than absolute emergency than go anywhere else.

Please do not bring your pet here. Cat went in and they didn't update us while we were waiting in the car for six hours. We had to go and ask what they were doing, and all they said were x-rays. Six hours later, said our cat should be fine. Said they saw something in his stomach, should be fine. Charged $1100 and they do not offer payment plans or anything, even with COVID going on. Cat was still not doing well after we took him home, so we took him to another place, and they said he was bitten by a tick and gave us the treatment medicine. He's doing fine now because the other place actually did their job and found out what was really wrong.

Do not waste your money at this place, our regular vet was booked, and they recommended us to go here. They won't be recommending anyone else to go here now. They're charged a thousand dollars, yet can't diagnose right? Please, for the sake of your pet and wallet, go somewhere else.

They took care of my little soon to be mama , Orea had a brown discharge on our trip home and I thought she was miscarrying but it turned out to be pressure from her babies that caused her to release her anal glands on me. I screamed, the doctor laughed and made a funny. So I really appreciate these people and their professional and yet funny lol

We were fortunate to have found REACH and Dr. Bret...

We were fortunate to have found REACH and Dr. Brett Wood when one of our dogs became very ill and needed emergency gall bladder surgery. With both my husband and I in the healthcare field, we always try to find a top-notch facility for our pets, but in an emergency situation in a new town one doesn't have time for a lot of research. We were both very impressed from the minute we walked in the door with the reception staff, and ultimately with the triage nurse, and the ER and surgical staff. Not with just their competence and skill, but the consideration and compassion they showed to our very old dog with very poor social skills. Our dog did great and we can't brag enough about Dr. Wood's skills and his surgical staff. We recently visited again for a surgical procedure and each time we sit in the waiting room we are so amazed at how professional and caring each employee is. If you have an emergency or surgical need, we would highly recommend this facility!

Thank you MedVet for your care, concern, an exceptional service! We worked with amazing techs and Anastasia Ferikes, DVM and each was very amazing!

We had an emergency while on vacation and was referred to medvet by the retreat we were staying and it was an excellent recommendation. They definitely made us feel comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation.

Nice people but seriously? $1000 for fluids, antibiotics and a six hour stay? Nothing definitively wrong. They wanted him to stay 24 hours. I picked him up early and questioned the cost and was told I was lucky, that it would ve been over $1600 if he d stayed. I was given the low end pricing. I wasn t charged that for my own emergency room visit (with fluids).

So they did get to the issue that my dog was having. I am grateful for that. He is alive right now. The issue was no customer service and compassion at all. The Vet kept calling my male dog she. Then when we picked him up he had feces and blood on his bottom. They should have cleaned him up! They also charge excessive for us. We dont pay as much at our doctor. Anyway I did talk to the director and he apologized. I just want people do a great service as I would for them.

The ultrasound technician was fabulous and very co...

The ultrasound technician was fabulous and very considerate of my and my cat's comfortability so this review is not directed toward her BUT my experience with the other techs who initially greeted me and my cat earned the 2 star review. After having a previous bad experience with a vet I have a policy of staying with my animal during their treatment to ensure they are not harmed while they are at the vet office (I consider them like my children and I wouldn't leave my child with a stranger either) so when I made the request to stay with my cat during the ultrasound they insisted that wouldn't be possible because the "room was too small", ... I politely said that I would turn down the service and reschedule elsewhere if it wasn't possible, no problem, and the girl actually turned and made a mocking face like I was nuts for asking this and was then bristly with me for the duration of the visit. I was kind of floored by this behavior though because there is absolutely nothing at all unusual about wanting to be with your babies when they are scared during a visit. It ended up that after several attempts on their part to change my mind and I would not budge on this point they allowed me to be with my cat, in a room that was exactly the same size as the one we had the conversation about it in...so not small at all. My two stars are for the lack of sensitivity/professionalism on the part of the staff. Again however, the ultrasound technician was absolutely wonderful and informative and very gentle with my cat.

My dog was hit by a car at 8 o'clock on a Tuesday ...

My dog was hit by a car at 8 o'clock on a Tuesday night. She looked severely injured and had a large, deep gash on her hind leg. We took her to Reach because it is the only emergency vet in the area. At first, everything was fine and she was taken to be looked at by the doctor. That all changed as soon as our CareCredit application was denied and told them we had very little money and no way of coming up with more. Forward to 12:30 am that same night my dog is sitting beside me in her crate crying in pain with a fractured pelvis and open wound on her leg. They absolutely refused to even X-ray her or at least dress her wounds without money. THE most horrible, inhumane disgusting experience I have ever been through at a vets office. I'm probably going to have to put my dog down because I can't afford to help her or even make her pain go away. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go to Reach unless you have $300-400 minimum to spend saving your pet. They should be sued for animal cruelty, it's not my dogs fault I have no money. Sorry Blondie.

We took our little dog here a little after midnight after we found her with a block of rat poison in her mouth! The staff did a fantastic job researching poison and were able to confirm that she did not eat enough to be toxic (thankfully, we brought the block from her mouth and a new block). The staff were very professional and gave us a technician consultation rate to save us money. Expecting to break the bank due to the 1am visit, bill was very reasonable and on par with normal vet visit fee! Highly recommend this vet!

When they respond to your negative review they say they want to talk to you and give you an email address to contact them at. and when you try to write them it doesn't work it's blocked. It's probably just a randomized to computer reponse. Call or write them a snail mail letter. Or better still write the newspapers the letter to the editor will be published. Which is what I'm going to do. I need a sign on the door rich clients only..

Very bad experience. After 4.5 hours and over $400, they were unable to diagnose the problem with my dog and only give a "possible" problem suggestion. They sent her home still in severe pain and loaded with drugs. The vet was very disinterested acting. She left the room and said I'll be back with her medications and we can go over them. Half hour later, still no doctor, a crying dog, and finally a random nurse shows up hands me a bag and says, the instructions are on the bottles. Western Carolina in Hendersonville would NEVER treat a pet and its parent that way. Next time I have emergency I'll make the drive to Hendersonville.

Those of you on here that have harped about REACH...

Those of you on here that have harped about REACH only cares about money , do any of you even realize that veterinary care costs just as much for REACH as medical care costs for mission hospital? I don t see a bunch of reviews for Mission acusing them of only caring about money but somehow its ok for you to throw out uneducated accusations that are unfounded and quite frankly sound whiny and like you are looking for a handout just because its your dog and not a child or uncle or some other human family member. The bottom line is that things like diagnostics and plans for treatment cost money but most of you seem like you want the answers but don t want to pay for it. . . where on earth is this the case for anything in the real world? Certainly not in the medical field in any capacity. If a veterinarian says they don t have the answer they need to properly diagnose your animal and want to try another diagnostic tool that doesn t mean that they are trying to get money (and fyi, most of veterinary personel including actual veterinarians are struggling financially the same as you!) it just means that they need to try more avenues to get you the best answer possible so they can treat accordingly and not waste more of your money. Do any of you know how much it costs to have a facility run for 24 hours a day? Think electricity, staffing, machines that perform state of the art technical diagnostics so that you don t have to drive all the way to Greenville or Charlotte and spend even more money in travel and hotels and can be right here in WNC to check in on your pet and visit if they need hospitalization, and not to mention being here at any hour even on special holidays that you should damn well know they d rather spend with their families. Shame on all of you for thinking that they are in it to price gouge or just trying things willy nilly to entertain themselves, as I mentioned before they don t make any more money if you do everything or nothing, their pay is the same, but if they don t try everything in the arsenal to get the most educated guess then they are accused of negligence!! You can t have it both ways so either stop complaining or be a responsible pet owner and do everything you can to take the proper care of your pet!!!

Addendum: FYI Joe Surma, depending on the size of your dog and the amount of pain your dog is in, that amount of Tramadol is not only medically reccommended but considered ineffective if a too small dose is given, then they really would be "trying to kill your dog". A word of advice, if something looks completely unintelligent when you type it out, consider leaving the ranting and raiving out, people would probably take you a lot more serious #Getahobby

We were there today,Oct. 22, 2020, for our cat Lily. They greeted us promptly ask questions and everything was explained. We were there for the oncology department, for we suspected our cat had cancer. Dr. Ben Lee the oncologist was excellent. He came out to speak to us on what he found from his exam on Lily and recommendations We did decide to run some tests and do a biopsy. Dr. Lee guided us through a very difficult situation for our precious Lily has several different cancers. I thought prices were very fair. We were given and emailed diagnosis assessment, medication instructions, recommendations, follow up statement as well as costs of services. I was impressed with the guidance, compassion and services we received today by Dr. Lee and team members. I would definitely recommend MedVet of Asheville.

I've thought about this since Sunday and i just have to say something. My mamaws yorkie Chloe was going to have puppies, Sunday morning she went into labor and had her first one at 10:30 she looked as if she was trying to have the other 3 but couldn't at 3:00 we got to Reach animal hospital checked her in and was put in a room at 3:15 the Dr came in and told us she did a ultra sound there was 3 other pups in there so she was going to give her a shot to see if that helps her stay in labor and have the pups. a hour later a different lady comes in with a tablet telling us they wanted to do another ultra sound and x rays and this test and that test and a C section which will be $4,000 We can not afford 4000$ which we told the lady. At this point we think Chloe has been given the shot at 3:15 when we were told by the Dr she was getting it. At 5:00 the other lady comes back in with her tablet and tells me they have another treatment plan since we wont do the $4K plan. She tells me they want to do a ultra sound a x ray blood work and give her the shot. I asked if she hasn't already been given the shot when we got there they tell us NO they had her just sitting in a cage with the one pup she wouldn't even feed because she was in pain and they have done NOTHING to help her in the 2 hours we were there. I let them know they needed to give her the shot to help her and the pups before they die which the VET said would happen if they didnt come out. at 5:45 the vet came back in and told us the shot didnt work our only option was to do the C section which is again $4,000.00 or we could take her home and her and the puppies would die..... Awesome choices right. we told her again there is no way we can afford that is there anything else we can do. she then tells us we can surrender chloe and the born pup over to them they would get the humane society to cover the cost of the c section then they would be adopted out. So to save the life of chloe and her puppies my grandmother had to give reach her dog because that was our only choice. At 6:15 we were told we had to pay $350.00 for the Ultra sound and the shot and leave. Yesterday the Asheville Humane Society posted on their site chloe and two puppies for foster care. I can only assume two of the puppies didnt make it. I feel if Reach would have given her proper care and not pushing for a 4000.00 treatment we would still have Chloe and 4 healthy puppies.

We had an exceptional experience with REACH. All of the staff members were friendly and communicative with us, and very loving with our dog. The vet we worked with, Dr. Wood, was patient, understanding, and straightforward with us, and was an outstanding surgeon when our dog went in for surgery. We never felt rushed or talked down to; Dr. Wood took time to carefully explain to us what was happening in language we could understand. When we brought our dog back in for a follow-up visit, she couldn't wait to get back inside to see the doctors and nurses again. We are so grateful to the doctors and staff for the care we all (human and dog) received at REACH.

We had to take our German Shepherd on Easter last weekend because we suspected a blockage. Turns out, blockage. The staff was wonderful to us, the precautions they had to take to protect everyone made their jobs harder despite doing a fabulous job. We were very clearly told what needed to happen for her emergency surgery and the surgeon called us prior to go over all scenarios with us. He was kind enough to call after to tell us how everything went! Recovery instructions couldn t have been explained better! Not that I want my dog to need any more emergency services done, but I know exactly where to go if that happens with any of my fur babies. Thank you guys for everything!

I visited yesterday with my sick Morkie with a referral from days of diagnosis. I waited 3 hours in a room and the only reason I was seen soon after that was because I kept going into the lobby complaining about our wait. The place was understaffed,
Unfriendly and I did not feel like we were given any attention. We spent a lot of money for what we had done and now my dog is at upstate veterinary specialist spending the weekend getting the treatment that Reach did not administer.

Seriously the worse place you can ever take an animal!! If I could would give them no star whatsoever!! These people are rude, condescending, and are only out to make a profit off of your love of your pet!! I got charged $450 dollars for them to even see my pet. That was just for them to look at him not to do one single thing to him just to diagnose what was wrong with him. Then they charged me another $1,700 dollars to figure out what was wrong with him and to beat all he isn t even any better. So, if you want to take you pet to an emergency vet that isn t out to gouge you please take them elsewhere! I will be calling the news station to get them to do a story on this facility cause it s an absolute crime what they are doing to people!!

It was our first time using REACH, and even though our vet recommends them when they are closed, we were not sure what to expect. Everyone there was very caring and compassionate. Our cat Coco was having a really serious asthma attack and we were too worried about her to wait until morning. They treated her quickly and got her feeling well enough to go home. She is doing great now. I really appreciate the fact there is somewhere to go when you have an emergent situation, and definitely recommend them, from the receptionist to the techs, to the vet, all of them were terrific.

Please do NOT go here, there are more proficient emergency animal hospitals in Asheville.

I was referred by my vet for an ultrasound for my cat. Upon calling, they said to come in and that it would only take 1-2 hours. Six hours, multiple sedations, claws clipped without asking and one nipple less from the belly shaving later and no positive results; not withstanding, the exorbitant cost.

If you care for you pet, please look further than this business.

Our cat started acting aggressively suddenly after...

Our cat started acting aggressively suddenly after getting outside. He was attacking our family when he was normally sweet and cuddly. We thought he might have eaten something or maybe had a tumor. Not even 24 hours later I brought him in on a Sunday and saw Dr. Judi Krauskopf. She walked in angry and cold and spent 10 seconds talking (not asking a single question) before she told me my cat needed to be euthanized today because he is a rabies risk. I started crying asking if further testing could be done and told her she was not being very compassionate which she said I don't understand the seriousness of this. I asked her could my cat really get rabies in the 10 minutes he was outside and she said no probably not. Huh? An indoor cat of 9 years gets outside for 10 minutes and still needs to be euthanized without looking into other options. She would not even exam him. She told me coldly that if I tried to leave she would call the police because I have a child in our house. She then asked me if I wanted to see another vet which I said yes. The new vet examined him, asked questions, gave me suggestions and possibilities and also let me go without threatening to call the police. Turns out "wrong information" was passed to her and she thought our cat had bitten our child (he didn't). She came in cold and callous, she could care less if I was crying or a HUMAN BEING with a pet I love. I found out she doesn't "like" when people don't update their cats vaccines and feels pretty strongly about it from a "public health standpoint." Even if that was her professional opinion it gives her no right to threaten and be so terrible to someone. What happened to remembering these are our pets? The other vet I saw was very kind and so were the receptionists, but PLEASE don't ever risk going here to have such a horrible experience with a terrible and miserable human being. I will tell everyone in town I know to avoid Dr. Judi Krauskopf.

My girlfriend and I had a terrible experience with...

My girlfriend and I had a terrible experience with this animal hospital. We live in Franklin, NC and one night our dog Abbie cut herself open out in the woods. So with no other hospitals near by we called REACH and said we'd be there in an hour and a half. At the time, they did not tell us that there was a closer emergency vet in Waynesville.
From the very beginning they were cold and thought only of our injured girl as profit. When we got to hospital it was around nine, they made us wait and fill out forms while Abbie was bleeding. There was no one waiting in front of us, the vet just had no sense of urgency. So after waiting fifteen/twenty minutes to be seen.. they then put us in a room and made us wait even longer till we actually saw a vet. While waiting in the room we could hear dogs crying out of pain, my girlfriend was getting more and more upset and didn't want to leave Abbie. Finally a nurse came took her pulse, looked at her cut, and told us to wait for the doctor. He came after some time and said she needed stitches and they were gonna have to put her under. They told us it could take two to three hours to do the operation, so they recommended we leave and get food or something while we were waiting.
So after two or so hours we came back and they gave us post-op instructions... they said they had messed up getting her IV in so they shaved multiple of her legs trying to get one in. They gave us a list of charges, and talked more and more about the money than her status of health. Reassuring us that she would be fine, they said she would have to take antibiotics and pain medicine to help her feel better. They said there were no side effects to these drugs.
When we finally saw her after another twenty minutes of talking money, she was shaking and hyper-ventilating. They claimed that it was "normal." They said she had to have reverse anesthesia and this was her reaction. She was noticeably dehydrated from panting so hard, and I asked if they gave her water... they said no and gave some excuse for it. She kept shaking, clearly in pain, so we asked if they gave her any pain medicine yet... they said no to that too.
They said we could give it to her when we got home, which was an hour and a half away over winding mountains. In the end they charged us almost $500. Our vet said if he was open it would have taken him 45 minutes and cost maybe $100. He also would have given her fluids and he recommended against the reverse anesthesia.
After the surgery Abbie was so distraught, she shook the entire way home and was clearly in pain. We gave her the medicine as soon as we could, but then we learned that the "pain" medicine they gave us was also a steroid. Which they hadn't told us, so after giving her the steroid for two days, we noticed she wasn't behaving normally. She could barely move, and she wouldn't drink water on her own. One day she started shaking uncontrollably and peed herself.. she was having a seizure from the medicine they gave her. In total panic, we had to rush her to our vet in town. He concluded that it was probably a reaction to the medication. He said they also did a poor job with the sutures as they were too big and too far apart for such a deep cut, so it caused her wound to scab over the stitches and left a nasty scar.
So if you need emergency care, go anywhere else... REACH is impersonal, greedy, and their "care" is definitely lacking. There is no sense of urgency or kindness. They are a profit machine, recommending drugs and procedures they know nothing about. The quality of service here was horrendous... they gave my dog her first seizure.

We were in the unfortunate position of having to put down our 16 year old Shih Tzu "Simon".
The staff there (especially Dr. Bentley and Nora) were very professional, understanding, and compassionate. They made the experience as comfortable as it could possibly have been under the circumstances and made a paw print out of clay for us to have as a memento.
They even mailed us a sympathy card with a personal message from the doctor.
They are a class act and I would highly recommend them!

Over the years I have been to REACH many times with several of my dogs. They have always without fail given wonderful care and every staff member I've met has been loving of my dogs as if it were their own. My new pup just had surgery there and the skill, care, and service they provide is simply the best. I thank, my family thanks you, and my pup Duke thanks you.

My dog was attacked by a neighbor s aggressive dog and this was the only place that had availability.

They took care of my dog and he genuinely enjoyed going back for the multiple visits I had to bring him there for. They were kind and compassionate. It s expensive, but I ll pay any price to help my dog.

As everyone else has said, the wait times are ridiculous - despite my dog having a gaping wound, it took over an hour to get into one of the rooms. Such is life.

My baby kitten got head trauma and I took her to REACH as it was the middle of the night and they were the only ones open. They did require an immediate $650 for life support purposes, but as she needed to be put down, they refunded all the money that was not put toward her short care there.

They were incredibly helpful with the process of putting her to sleep, they have many options for aftercare such as cremation, free paw prints, a lock of hair, etc. They were so kind and considerate and made us very comfortable during the process. I want to thank the staff profusely for how helpful and loving they were.

Top marks for a team that takes your pet's health seriously, along with your peace of mind as a pet parent. One of my fur babies developed a problem that led to tough decisions. MedVet folks were patient, thorough and compassionate. Made a hard time much easier to deal with.

My 1st visit was wonderful, not that we saw them really, but they cared for my dog's body that died on the way there. So I could get home to my other dogs.

This time (1/6/21), not so much. I called ahead and told them exactly what I was coming for, they KNEW I only wanted a C Section performed, not numerous blood tests, ultrasound, or anything else I had to pay for!! I had a dog delivering pups and had problems at home, so I raced the 1 hr 15 mins from Franklin to them. Most of their fees aren't actually to bad for an ER Vet, but when they add and add and add more and more than what was actually needed your bill is 3x what it should be. Among the fees, tests and U/S that was not needed, they charged me $400 to make a call, to call the Surgeon in. I PAID $4850 UPFRONT, for a C Section, not to see if they would do one over 2 hours later when they get the team in FINALLY.=b, for a $400 fee to call them in that is ridiculous. Communication wasn't the best and the surgeon was not nice at all, especially when he called me to tell me how many, as we thought 8, I was asleep in the car in 20 degrees, I sure wasn't trying to ADD!! They are way overpriced as far as what they keep adding on to charge for, not the actual prices. I expected it to be high, around $1800-$2500 at the most.

They seem to think everyone is an inexperienced pet owner when this wasn't my 1st rodeo with needing surgery for a C Section, of which the 1st 2 were $800 and $1000 respectively. I was STUCK staying there to save my dog, since no one else was open, so I HAD to pay whatever they wanted. I went there to get my dog surgery, not unnecessary tests, fees, etc. When you pay that amount, you do get to decide what is done, not some DR in there adding more to it just because you can. And then, 3 hours of ICU care? FOR WHAT???? And I was charged for TWELVE hours of ICU, I wasnt away from home for 12 hours and I sure didn't need or get any ICU care, I was outside in my car in 20 degree weather waiting for my dogs.

Preplanned from now on with my own vets, way less and I'm home in 3 hours, no more $5000 10 hour adventures with this place. I really liked them in the beginning.

My daughter took her dog here the 1st of July after being referred by her by our vet she had just lost her cat 3 months before. After refinancing her car she was able to pay the 2700 that was demanded up front for the kidney failure. That was supposed to caused by an infection. After bringing our dog home over the Fourth of July weekend and taking her back for labs on the following Monday She was told there was no hope for our dog after she told them she could not come up with any more money. My daughter brought our dog back home had to mobile come and put her to sleep and had her cremated by the time it was all said and done it was $3,500,

The veterinarian herself was a kind and understanding person but the staff are heartless. My husband had our boy before we were married. He had gotten him after being deployed. He lived alone in Germany and his only companion was his pup. They wouldn t let us not even one of us go in to spend his last moments with our boy before they gave him so much meds that when they finally let us be by his side it was like he was already gone. I ve never seen my husband cry. I m enraged that our boy had to be wield in without his favorite person their to comfort him. We are thankful for being with him as they administered the fatal injection, but now all my husband can think about is the look on our boys face as they took him in without us. We are heartbroken. The staff needs a big dose of compassion.

Over all the experience was good. They helped save Konas life after she fell from the top of a waterfall and broke her back in multiple spots. Thankfully, i called ahead and they had doctors on the spot waiting for kona when we got there and took her right back to the emergency spot. I feel like they took advantage of how attached i was to my dog. I was charged over $5,000 for 3 days in the ICU, no surgery or anything. I was charged for 8-10 xrays which seems excessive for 3 days. I was expected to pay thousands of dollars each of the 3 days i came and visited kona.
To summarize: if your dog is in a life and threatening condition, they are a great option if if you can afford the couple of thousand to spend.

My dog was hit by a car so I brought him here thinking they d help me. I have bad credit so I didn t qualify for their credit card. They had no low income program or anything. I paid over $100 just for them to tell me they couldn t do anything to help him and that his leg was broken. Fast forward, I get a voucher to go to the pet vet, the pet vet gives my dog an X-ray and noticed that his leg was just popped out of socket. Unfortunately, ( this is what the vet said at pet vet) since reach didn t properly inspect his injury he would have to have surgery to remove his leg because reach left it out of socket , it created socket damage and would no longer be able to be popped back into place. I had to give my dog up for adoption because I couldn t afford his surgery. I paid reach just for them to turn me away and in the end i lost my dog because reach was too worried about money instead of helping him. If I could give them zero stars I would. I don t recommend reach unless you have good credit or you have a lot of money. Reach also doesn t offer insurance so if you don t have insurance on your dog, I d suggest going to the Asheville humane society and getting some. It was NEVER offered to me until after I gave him up for adoption but it is something I feel like low income families or people can afford so that way something like this doesn t happen to them.

Will NEVER ever use REACH again. They botched my cat's euthanasia up so bad and allowed her to suffer for over an hour from a clot. Very unprofessional vet and vet techs on that day. While I do not doubt the physical care that Reach ...

While I do not doubt the physical care that Reach provides is top notch. Their diagnostic acumen is akin to using a "magic 8 ball" of ailments to try to determine what is wrong with your pet. Twice, I had to take my dog in for similar episodes in the last 6 months because they have manifested themselves outside of normal veterinary hours. Literally half a dozen full blood panels, x-rays, internal medicine consults, ultrasounds...you name it...I paid for it. Nothing to show. Zero diagnosis. Zero treatment plan. Fluids, and antibiotics is what I ultimately got, along with a lot of tests and procedures with what seems like no actual direction towards a diagnosis. I would take my animal back there, if they ingested something they shouldn't, got physically hurt after the vet closed, or something similar, but I will not take my dogs if there is any question as to what is wrong with them, or if they need any diagnostic work. You are better off making the trip to UT veterinary hospital or Upstate Veterinary Specialists in Greenville. The prices will be similar, and you get much better diagnostic, and exploratory care.

They absolutely were zero help to my 11 year old havanese dog. They charged me over a hundred dollars to give my animal back (who was in serious condition) and tell me nothing is wrong her, that she is fine and in a few days she will stop with her symptoms. She progressively got worse over the next day and her breathing began to get shallower. I am now at a REAL vet hospital who is caring for my dog and doing what they need to get her back to health. If I had not found another vet on my own my dog may have not made it. NEVER go to this place, they will simply rob you and probably leave your animal in worse condition.

One of the worst experiences of my life, our bunny...

One of the worst experiences of my life, our bunny wasn't acting normally and we couldn't get to our vet because it was the weekend, we took him in and after about two hours they finally had an answer, he had a blockage between his stomach and intestines and would need surgery, after we told them we were limited on how much we had to spend they started telling us that his chances of survival were very small and rabbits don't usually come back from it which is not true, then the vet told us they had done thirteen of these with no success just trying to bring our hopes down so we wouldn't pursue surgery, then they sed we could euthanize him, he was a rescue bunny and had already had a hard enough life, we reluctantly agreed, when they brought him in to say goodbye he was only with us for a minute or two before he started to scream and thrash from being in so much pain, they attempted to euthanize him and just got under his because his IV wasn't put in correctly, while this is happening they tried to run another one in , the whole time he's screaming, they just kept stabbing him with the needles and he only weighed a pound and a half, my wife was holding him crying hysterically telling him she was sorry then he died of shock , I thought vets got into the business because they care about animals and there well-being not for money , they let him sit there for hours suffering with no pain meds until his little tummy burst then tortured him trying to euthanize him , to them he was just another disposable pet but he wasn't to me , he was my little buddy and our baby, then they kindly tossed him in a box and escorted us to the door within five minutes , they then charged us for every dollar we told them we had , we didn't even have anything left to get him cremated, my wife didn't want to put him in the ground and let the worms get him he means to much to us and he deserves better. incompetent heartless and unwilling to help unless you have the funds, please take your pets anywhere else, Horrible. they let my bunguy suffer to death and didn't let us barely see him, don't let them do it to yours. .they were so senselessly cruel to my little boy.
I miss you so much Mr Lucky......
Update, they have banned my picture of Mr Lucky and myself, no matter how many times I try to post it gets on the page.I guess they don't want you too see his beautiful happy face while having to read about the horrible way they treated him. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before my whole review gets taken down, you can still see him with my wife in their photos until they take it down too. His picture is still on the yelp review.it had over 20,000 views.

Brought in a dog after he had seen his primary vet. Vet said he needed hospitalization/admittance at Reach, and sent records over directly. Apparently that wasn t good enough.

We re now caught in a bureaucratic web of giving history over and over (and over), waiting forever, not seeing a vet, and still not yet being admitted. No tests, treatment, and no one paying attention.

I told the desk he needed to be admitted and we wanted him to be seen right away but couldn t wait around. I was told I needed to stay okay the treatment estimate.

Bad experience.

This is the situation that any animal lover dreads: needing to put a beloved elderly animal to sleep. Our 18.5 year old cat, Lucy, reached a very state of clear suffering on a Saturday evening, after the practice of our vet was closed. From the initial telephone call, through the actual experience of being ushered into a quiet room where she was euthanized, we were treated with the utmost of respect and sensitivity. Dr. Ulke and the remainder of the Staff were caring and helped us to make a very difficult situation the best that it could be. Thank you to all of the Staff for your kindness-- it is so very much appreciated!

DO NOT GO HERE! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!

DO NOT GO HERE! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!

I'm not sure if this place follows industry standards for how they operate. I've worked the human ER. If the human ER worked like this, wed have all of Asheville lining up with pitchforks ready to burn us down for EXTORTION(fully legal kind). If a mechanic worked like this, they'd go out of business. This place is a SCAM and would be gone if they weren't the only late night place in town.

When you get there, you will be given an "estimate" for diagnosing the animal. You pay this, only then will they diagnose your animal but they stop there. Next, They explain whats wrong and hope the fear drives you to cough up a few hundred more dollars. Yes, thats right the few hundred you paid when you got there doesn't include any treatment. They wait for the opportunity to give you the bad news before they even give you a ball park on the treatment.

If at any point you decide you want to wait for your usual vet, you will have to pay over a hundred in holding fees. If you are unable to pay this fee they will keep your pet for up to 3 days while threatening to kill it.

This is not the way anyone wants to be treated after finding their pet sick or injured in the middle of the night. People who go in seeking hep are generally tired and emotional because their beloved pet isnt well and this vet takes advantage of that

Wait the night out. The actual treatment at my vet would have been affordable if it weren't for the money this place extorted from me. Instead, I paid for them to do nothing.

Another review said there is a place in town open until 11, please try to go there. Only go to this vet if your pockets are deep or your pet is in serious danger and everywhere else is closed.

Will never go here again. My dog was very lethargi...

Will never go here again. My dog was very lethargic and wasn't drinking water. Since it was late, I jumped on the computer to see which animal hospitals were open. I read reviews for REACH and was so torn on whether to bring him or not. But, he was in pain, so I brought him in.

WORST. EXPERIENCE. They immediately took him from my arms at arrival for "vitals" while they gathered information from me, asked about payment, and showed me to a room. I could hear my dog yelping on the other side of the door. They came in after 45 minutes and said they needed to run his blood work. I said that's fine, after they take blood can I please see him? I hear him yelping and he's in pain. Why couldn't they do vitals on the table in the room is beyond me. Another 30 minutes later, a guy I hadn't met yet walked him in on the leash. My dog could barely stand when I brought him in, and there's this guy leading him on a leash trying to get to me. I picked up my poor dog and this guy was all smiles. No concern for the dog, no "here's your mom", no compassion whatsoever.

As I'm holding my dog in my lap, I realize he's soaking wet. Like chest, legs, and stomach were wet with rubbing alcohol. Why??? The bandage on his back leg said that that's the only place he needed to get alcohol applied to. Why was it all over him? It was seeping into my pants there was so much. On top of this, my dog starts shaking and crying, meaning he got WORSE since arrival. The "doctor" comes in the room another 30 minutes later (he doesn't even let himself fully inside, just opens the door and pokes his head in, completely impersonal), and says they need to just "re-run his blood work." Re-run? Why didn't it run the first time, I asked? This guy had no idea. And when I asked why my dog was covered in rubbing alcohol, he also had no idea. Not worth my time, money, or sanity. They have no idea what they're doing, there's zero compassion for the animals, and they just want a pretty penny. I paid for the blood work and left, saying he could call me with the results. $200 for him to say "your dog seems to be dehydrated."

I know this seems like the only option when it's late at night or on certain weekends, but it's not worth the time or money. If you have any other option, take it.

Very caring and compassionate team! Several months ago my 13 yr old dog had a serious medical issue and my vet was unable to get her into the office. Very disappointed in this place. Would have waited till our reg vet opened but it was the start of the weekend and my cat was very sick. I already knew what the problem was and informed them of this, but let me tell u they didnt want to hear any of it, (p.s I'm not an idiot work for a vet for several years so I knew some what of what was going on) they wanted to do this test and that test for no reason. I told them to only do the blood test and sure enough he had an infection like before.but they still tryed to get me to do more test! When I told them no just want the antibiotics for him they came up with more meds than what he really needed. Please tell me why u give a cat that already has diarrhea worm medicine! U don't! But they didn't call it worm medicine they called it bacteria antibiotics. didnt realize it was wormer till I got home only because I WAS THERE FoR 4 HOURS!4 HOURS REALLY OMG! AND ON TOP OF THAT I AM NOW OUT $351.00 WHICH BY THE WAY WAS MORE THAN WHAT THEY QUOTED ME AND FOUR HOURS. THEY GOT THE ONE STAR ONLY BECAUSE THEY R OPEN ALL NITE. I'M JUST LIKE WOW. But the staff was very nice so thank you for that

The staff here is upfront about cost, and providing alternative game plans if you can't afford it. Not to mention the staff handling the check-ins and paperwork are some of the nicest, and most patient people I have met. I am writing this review for the staff at Reach Ve...

I am writing this review for the staff at Reach Veterinary. We left for Asheville Wednesday late morning. It was a Thanksgiving getaway, to meet my in-laws from Griffin, Ga and my sister in law, her husband and kids from Annapolis, MD. Lola our dog, always goes with us wherever we travel. She wasn t feeling that great and as the day went into night we knew something was wrong. By early evening she was unable to walk and couldn t lift her head. Without going into more detail and after her having a very difficult night our beautiful, sweet, loving, funny and magnificent dog passed away at 6:20 Thanksgiving morning. Our hearts will be forever broken and we will miss her every day.
Craig and I were absolutely devoted to her as she was to us. She was our child and until almost 5 years ago our only child.
We never veered from the amount of love and attention that we gave her after Cash our son was born.
Lola would have been 14 years old on March 17. Luckily we were able to find a veterinary office open in Asheville and they took our sweet baby and kept her body preserved until we could make the trip back to Mount Pleasant. The staff there were caring and loving. I could see that they felt our pain. I will always be grateful to the staff at Reach for taking our sweet baby in and treating her with dignity and love.
We love you Lola! We were so lucky to have you as our baby!
As we are on the highway now our sweet girl is in the back of our vehicle.... the final journey to her resting place.
She will be buried in our yard where we can still be with her every day

With much gratitude,
Jennifer, Craig & Cash Fine

If you love your pet, don't ever take it to this p...

If you love your pet, don't ever take it to this place if you have any other choice. My dog was approaching the end of her life last Sat. afternoon when she suddenly started gasping for air & I knew it was time. I called Reach to be sure a vet was available & was told there were 3 vets. When I got there, I told 2 techs that I wanted her put to sleep with a shot asap because she was in pain. They said they had to put in a catheter because it was better for the dog. I think that is just an excuse to charge more because a catheter is more painful than a shot, but they would only do it their way. I asked to hold my dog while they did this, they would not let me. It was a long time before they brought my dog to me & I can only imagine how many times they stuck her trying to insert the catheter. While I was waiting, 1st tech came in with a form & tried to talk to me about how they could dispose of my dog. I told her for the 2nd time that I just wanted her put to sleep asap to end her pain. 2nd tech finally brought in my dog & asked if I wanted time with my dog before vet came in. Again, I said I just wanted my dog put to sleep asap & she said she would tell vet. Again, I waited & waited while my dog was in unnecessary pain. 1st tech finally came in room & asked if 2nd tech had told me to push button when I was ready for vet. Nobody had told me to press button or that there was even a button. There was no sign on this button stating to press for vet when ready. Again, I told her I wanted my dog out of her pain asap. Vet came in a little later & put my dog to sleep. I started to wrap my dog in her blanket, vet stopped me & said she had to take catheter out first. Again, she would not let me hold my dog. She told me to either wait in the room or out front & my dog would be brought to me. I went out front & paid $97. Again, I waited & waited. Finally asked girl behind counter what they were doing to my dog because they had had time to take out catheter. She went to check & came back with my dog & stated they were waiting til I was ready. I was just outside their door, why did they not have the courtesy to stick their head out the door & ask me if I was ready instead of just leaving my dog laying back there til I asked somebody to check? The slogan on their bill is "Quality Care with Compassion". The only compassion I saw was from the nice girl behind the counter who went & got my dog for me.
I have had dogs for over 35 years & lived in 3 different states & this was the worst experience I have ever had. In the past, I had to have 2 other dogs put to sleep, one was 65 lbs. & the other was 70 lbs. Each time, my dog was treated with care & concern & put to sleep within a few minutes with a shot. Since this was done successfully with 2 big dogs, I certainly think my 13 lb. dog could have been put to sleep with a shot. Each time I was permitted to stay with my dog the whole time. Reach's process took approx. 1 hour & during this time, my dog had 2 more spells of gasping for air. If people cannot have compassion for a dog obviously suffering, they need to find other jobs.

I gave one star because it wouldn't let me put NO stars. Although not everyone there was Awful or involved in our treatment ,this review is on our total experience. We brought our 180 lbs Neapolitan Mastiff in in the middle of the night because we found him passed out in the yard .they said he had send enlarged heart and bad valves in his heart they stabilized him and and they needed to keep him overnight and monitor him and that it would be about $1000 well that turned into$1859 before I left. The next day they called said they needed to do more tests that were $100-$200 I said ok in a matter of minutes that went to $1000 because they wanted to keep.him.overnight and monitor him more I didn't feel right about it and as usual hindsight is always 20/20 I should of taken him home. But I agreed to the more tests and overnight monitoring. This was at 2pm I went to visit him around 530 they brought him into the room he was happy to see me still having that cone on his head which was covered in old peanut butter and stunk Ungodly so I washed it and him off a little bit later the Dr I spoke with st 2pm came in and I afjed what was going on with the tests and she looked at me like I had two heads and said we didn't do the tests because I thought you were coming to euthanize him WHAT ???!!!! I said not even a thought she then said o well i wasn't sure. What part of go ahead and do the tests at 2pm did you translate into we are going to euthanize him??????? So more tests were "needed" .(NOTE QUOTATION MARKS ). fearing I may lose him I said ok well those "tests" turned into $1500 before I could leave and without him with me .so uncertain I leave at 9pm again hinsshind20/20 I should of taken him . He seemed ok but didn't want to leave me but i left .I get a phone call the next morning with yet another "Dr" with little to no information at this point I had enough of what I felt was a run around so I got a bit more direct and said I spent almost$4000 in 24 hrs and still no answers they said he needed meds but wasn't taking them.i said I'll come give him.meds if needed a little bit later they xallca and asked if inwoI w come try to give him meds so I went there it was 1130 am 15 hrs after I ladt saw him when I got there and they brought him to me the cone on his head was covered in VOMIT as was his face and neck I said something about it and the girl said well he threw up last night WHAT!!??? that was at least 12 hrs earlier I said something about it again her reply to me whstvwoujw you like me to do ?? SERIOUSLY. ?? I said give me some paper towels and I'll wipe him off .I asked how she would feel if she visited her mom in the hospital and that she was covered in vomit all night how she would feel?? I told here I want to take him home she said we gave him meds and needed to monitor him could I come back around 8pm .u knowingly what waa going on I said ok I went back at 8pm they brought him out to me funny his face and neck were wet as if someone just washed him ???? So after almost$4000 they said he needs to see a cardiologist that they can't do much else you could of told me $4000 ago . Luckily I was able to get an appointment with a cardiologist in Knoxville TN that week where within minutes the cardiologist sawcabd knew what to do for him $224 and less than an HR she gave us a prescription and some answers. I forgotvto add the $700 per month meds that Reach said I needed .One medication was $565 per 30 days worth funny that same 30 days worth of medicine I was able to get for less than $100 when I told the cardiologist what tests they did she was like NONE of it was necessary From what I've experienced it seemed more like all they were concerned about was money there was about 2people incudincl the first Dr we saw that actually seemed to care about my dog . There were a few other people that came in and basically were told you need this much money for us to look at your animal I heard many cries of sadness that evening I understand that things happen but to me it felt like they take total advantage of people

I can not say enough about how kind and compassionate all the staff was. Everyone was incredibly professional and yet " human". The staff not only helped me on the New year eve holiday; when no one else would, but also helped me stay within my budget and also gave me information to get the rest of the help we needed. Thank you MedVet Aheville!!

My mom had to wait almost an hour with my 15 year old chihuahua before they took him in. He has a list of medical problems and had what my parents think was a seizure. That to me seems like an emergency yet he had to wait an HOUR before being taken in. He also has problems breathing due to congestive heart failure. He could be dying in that hour that it took them to even LOOK at him. Absolutely unacceptable. Before Covid-19 and when it was Reach Animal Hospital, my animals that were having seizures were taken back immediately and given oxygen while i filled out paperwork. Where is the urgency?? I thought this was an emergency animal hospital.

"Loved it..." as a description for 5 stars is not applicable, but I believe we had the best experience we could have hoped for given the situation: Our dog died at REACH a few weeks ago.
We brought her in at 8:30PM, after she suddenly presented serious cardiac and respiratory symptoms. Upon arrival they took her back and quickly evaluated her. We were presented with options and suggestions as for what they could do for her, and the vet kindly discussed the different treatment plans with us before we agreed to what we could afford (after opening a $1,700 line of Credit through care credit; it's worth noting that they put in the effort to do this for you if you cannot), which happened to be all they could do. It was a lot of money for what we make, and yes, we were asked to pay up front. I understand that a vet like this may not be able to stay in business if they did not do this, and then there would be many more people and animals who suffered greater harm.

The vet going off duty at 1AM called to update us on Rushka's progress. We called the next morning for an update from the on-duty vet and he immediately called back. When our regular vet opened, we called and were told with confidence that due to the severity of the situation, she would be better off staying there to continue treatment in order to stabilize her. I trust him implicitly. When the internist (who was the only person who could perform the echocardiogram that she needed for further diagnosis) arrived at 9AM, she called us right away to tell us our options. We immediately rushed in to see our love and authorize the procedure and $400. We went back home and spoke to our vet who REACH spoke to directly.

11AM we got a call from the same vet who told us that the procedure could not be performed because her heart was beating too fast to see (350BPM) and that she was not responding to medication and that death could come at any minute if it were to. We drove as quickly as we could back there and the ICU staff quickly led us back to see her, where we stayed for the next 4 hours, which happened to be the last 4 of Rushka's life. I am in awe of the kindness the entire staff showed through the hardest day of my life. We knelt on the floor in front of her cage that entire time - the techs brought us blankets for padding. We asked a lot of questions - they answered them all. The provided compassion, sympathy and kind words throughout the entire ordeal. Any time we had a question for the vet, she came back to personally answer it. They were guarded in giving their opinions, but completely straightforward with both personal and professional when asked.

Rushka continue to deteriorate, despite their care. When it came time to ask about the blue bottle, if it became necessary, they were straightforward and compassionate. From this point on the vet stayed with us, though I know she must have been busy. They did everything they could to help make her (and us comfortable). Her heart was failing, she became hypoxic, then lost awareness and began to seize. Everything told us she was dying, and as soon as we asked for them to help speed her through her suffering they immediately and reverently complied. We sobbed in their ICU for hours and never felt a burden; quite the opposite, we felt comforted surrounded by people who cared for the animals and us. We continued to wail for an hour with her body after they prepared her for us to see, and never felt pressured. It was $1,500, after they consolidated some charges and did not even charge us for the echocardiogram (the most expensive procedure that was part of her treatment plan), which was approved and in fact performed. Everyone spoke kindly of her, telling us how beautiful and sweet she had been. Thank you, REACH for everything you did for us and all the animals you are able to save through your work.

I could not speak more highly of the REACH staff, and would recommend them to anyone, regardless of how many times it meant reliving the experience and weeping as I do now writing this.

A big thanks to the staff at REACH. We brought our dog in after she ate rat poison. The staff and vet were extremely nice, patient, and caring. We were seen immediately and our dog was well cared for. We got a prompt estimate and a clear explanation of the treatment and her medications. Amazing hospital. I hope I never have to come here again, but if I do, I know my pets are in good hands

Both of my dogs had to go to REACH, one of which was an emergency, she had a tumor on her heart. We were treated with the utmost respect and compassion from all. Many people do not understand that this also is a business and they have to have money to keep it running so I certainly understand why they need to make financial arrangements prior to treating pets. They have a wonderful facility and staff there. Thank you so much for all of your expertise, compassion, and kindness. It is very difficult making that decision to let your pet go, but I appreciate their honesty when surgery is not the best option and your pet is suffering.

Worst service ever. If you have an emergency then go somewhere else. I tell them I will be there in one hour. They did not tell me when I got there it would take two half hours just to be seen. I drove 1 hour pouring down rain. If u bring your dog there expect it to die before being seen
