The AGO has been a great place to view contemporary and classic art pieces. The team works endlessly to present exhibitions in the best way possible to ensure that guests have a pleasant experience.

The permanent exhibit has plenty to see, and the structure of the floors allow for much exploration. I really appreciate the Indigenous language captions along with the English and French captions for some of the pieces in the permanent gallery.

Go on Wednesday night to see it for free, but expect lots of people as it is a popular Wednesday night activity in Toronto. Make sure to keep up to date with the special exhibitions as they change seasonally! And sneak over to the stairs at the back of the AGO inbetween the 4th and 5th floors for a lovely view of the city of Toronto

Absolutely loved Guillermo Del Toro At Home With Monsters. Everyone should take it in before it leaves on Sunday. Always love the paintings of The Group of Seven as well. Will definitely return and recommend visiting to any group I drive at work. This was a personal visit not work related but I bring groups to other destinations in Toronto and will be highly recommend the AGO to everyone.

The AGO itself is a beautiful space with a great restaurant and a huge variety of exhibits dealing with Canadian and international art (with a nice emphasis on indigenous art). I went with my family to check out the temporary Anthropocene exhibit and all I can say is wow. The exhibit focused on how humankind is leaving a signature on our world. World-renowned photographers and filmmakers have compiled a incredibly thought-provoking exhibit that illustrates irreversible marks of human activity on the planet. The exhibit dealt with events on all six inhabited continents and was well-explained and spaced in a logical and informative way. The exhibit is profound in that it proposed a new geological era (the Anthropocene) and it makes an unbiased, largely neutral case regarding humanity and the deep legacy that it will leave on this planet.

My boyfriend and I visited the Art Gallery for the first time this past weekend. I didn't know what to expect as this was my first time going. From the moment we walked in we had a great experience! The gentleman working the front desk advised us that the gallery was closing in an hour and a half and he gave us our tickets for FREE! I couldn't believe it, he literally made my day. The gallery was amazing and I would definitely go again / recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic collection. Only had time to do the highlights unfortunately, but they were superb. My particular favourites were the Indigenous art, including Tunirrusiangit: Kenojuak Ashevak and Tim Pitsuliak. I could have spent hours there. I also liked Trans Am Apocalypse no 3 and the fabulous sculpture room just beside that. I think those exhibitions may not be on for much longer though so go quickly if you want to catch them. I can post pictures if I'm allowed to...??

I went there with my class to see a few short films, they were pretty unorganized because they had so many people come in that the adults had to stand, they ended up kicking 2 school out of the theatre and told them to come back later. But other then that it was good and the staff was really nice

The AGO is a nice gallery yo spend 1/2 day. Finding parking there on a busy day can be a challenge and meter parking can cost $4/hour.
The coffee shop upstairs is a nice place for rest during the visit; better view than I'm the basement coffee shop.

We drove to the area early Sunday morning and had breakfast then arrived at the AGO when it opened. The AGO was almost empty and we enjoyed a pleasent visit and marvelled at AGOs great selection of art and art history.

The Impressionist exhibition we saw here was very good.
There is also a playground nearby so you can take the kids

Its the art Gallery! You go there and view beautiful art. I've been living in this area for most my life, and theirs nothing nicer then spending a quiet evening viewing the beautiful art pieces with friends and family. I love going to see the new exhibits.

Good choice of beers and arrangement with the menu. Few white, but they have some. The mussels were excellent. Here, they are accompanied by a beautiful loaf of bread. The Thai molds were too spicy for me, but very good. Very attentive service.

After living in Toronto for a decade, finally made it out to the AGO!

My 6 year old was not impressed with the contemporary art. There were "just squares" on canvas.

She did enjoy the art cart and the drama centre in the hands-on centre. Would be lovely if this space were larger, it is a great space for kids and would make an AGO membership worthwhile for families with children.

Like, you can't get more aesthetic than this museum. I think it's good to go alone to see the art by yourself so you can take your time appreciating each one. Enjoy the space and lighting that you don't have in the city and your place unless you own a mansion. You can meditate while you walk, enough said.

The recent renovation has made this an excellent place for an art connoisseur. The location in downtown Toronto is in a somewhat Bohemian neighbourhood, but with ample parking available nearby.

The gallery itself is set up into sections with a big part devoted to Canadian artists. Do not miss the ship models in the basement.

It was okay. Some of the pieces are very interesting! A lot of pieces unfortunately didn't have a placard, meaning no one could tell what it was or where it came from, which was really disappointing

Great collection of classical art pieces with a heavy emphasis on canvas pieces. The modern section is a bit lacking but has quite a few interesting pieces. Great place to visit, especially on a Wednesday.

Totally worth a day pass, huge and well curated selection. Members even get a historic cafe to chill in. And OCAD students get in for free.
Newly renovated gift shop, and all kinds of cool events go down throughout the year.
