Had a good lunch, and saw some art. The Guillermo del Toro exhibit is way too much stuff. Got tired of looking at things that belonged to someone who was never told to grow up.

Parking was great and the staff were friendly. I was driving a bus so my comments relate to experience.
A breath of fresh air. Decent collection of fine art. Love the cafe with tons of natural light
AGO has so much art to offer. A paradise for the art lovers. The European paintings were very lively and gorgeous. It may seem a little pricey for some, but it has lots to offer. A full tour of the place can easily take an entire afternoon.
many great pictures, suitable for who interested in arts and statues of Europe
Ruben,s exhibition was amazing I am so lucky that had seen this exhibition in Art Gallery of Ontario .
A fantastic place to walk and take photos and it seems endless. I had 10,000 steps and 500 photos before I stopped . There is plenty to see but I ran out of steam there for another visit is in the works. It has a wonderful cafeteria and gift shop
Fantastic permanent collections and exhibitions in a beautiful setting. Very close to the Financial Centre.
My most favorite place! A fascinating design, ambiance, selection of works are amazing. a good place to hangout and make new friends.
Decent gallery with decent art. It certainly is not up to par with the Chicago Art Institute or MOMA but for a city like Toronto it's fine.
World class art gallery in Toronto. Free admission Wednesday evenings. Great views of the city from external glass staircases.
There were so many things to see and the whole area took quite a while to see the whole.
Nice and clean place. Good for students and kids. Spectacular art and paintings. Must visit with family or friends or even girlfriend.
Don't visit as much as I should. I absolutely love the AGO. Highly recommended.
Love this place. My favourite museum shop. Have a membership.
A great place to while away a few hours, checking out the different galleries, browsing the shop and having a snack in the cafe. As a member, I get to take guests to all the exhibits for free, which is always time well spent. And now they have incredible membership rates - plus the gallery is now absolutely free to people under 25!
Not too expensive for students wishing to see beautiful exhibitions. A wonderful building filled with helpful staff.
Continues to be cutting edge on Indigenous Settler issues
Free every Wednesdays 6-9 can't go wrong stopping by if you are ever in the are or you plan to be in the area!
A wonderful way to spend a few hours. Their different short term exhibits are always interesting.
A nice place! I like the free pass of AGO. AGO is few of the best places to be in Toronto!
One of my favorite places in Toronto to visit and just admire that there of humanity has to offer through their experiences and creativity. love it!
Huge museum with all kinds of art. New exhibitions are awesome. Good kids area for them to be creative.
Lovely place to enjoy the large selection of art. Many places to sit and admire slowly. Lots to learn, good place to have a coffee/drink with a friend. Very good place to shop for unique gifts.
Every Wednesday after 18 o'clock, it gets free, so I tried it but it is very wide and it is confusing how I saw it because construction is very complicated.
I love this place. I get the annual pass, so I can come whenever to check whatever I want. Music performances are common with special exhibitions.
AGO is a wonderful gallery with interesting exhibits which change often. Their art camps for kids are truly amazing
Favourite building in Toronto, and affordable admission. The miniatures gallery to the left on the main floor is my first stop when I come to the AGO. Also great Inuit Art collection.
The O'keeffe special exhibit was fantastic; her life and works were well explained through video and wall texts. A few of the other exhibits were closed which we understand happens but disappointed nonetheless considering the price of admission.
Noone puts on an exhibit quite like the AGO, Rubens genius was exposed to all. The AGO was teeming with life the day I attended, real sense of community
Great room set ups. Its not just portraits and paintings. The rooms are designed wonderfully it's like being transported to a different realm.
Many interesting exhibitions. Some contemporary exhibitions are overly politicized.
. . , 6, .
One of my favorite things to do in Toronto. I bought a me and friend membership and try to go regularly. Always look forward to their special exhibitions
Fantastic. I love the AGO. Friendly staff and just a neat place to get away.
Wonderful place to visit. Not the easiest to navigate, even with the map, but there's always somebody nearby to help you out if you ask. I recommend doing a guided tour as you may get more information, but save time to go by yourself and just enjoy the art. I spent about 2 hours here, but could've easily spent 5 if I had had the time.
It's getting closer to people. They also recommend an app called Reblink ,which can give you a new look on old paintings. But just works on certain items only. The Wi-Fi is also great, but after all, a nice place for kids only, not really many stuff to watch, especially if you have already been to some larger galleries like the national gallery of Britain.
I love Art Gallery of Ontario very much! I had the opportunity to visit amassing and contemporary exhibitions! All exhibitions are very informative and very educative. These exhibitions are very well-organized. I have the opportunity to use different high quality devices (earphones, translation devices). I highly recommend to visit Art Gallery of Ontario as one of the best places in Toronto
I had never been to AGO before, and it was a great visit. Went through the entire gallery in a day, but two days would be needed to go through the gallery thoroughly. The works are well displayed and the lighting setups help to accentuate them. The guides were very helpful in explaining facts about the art. There is a wide variety of artifacts, including spell books! I m looking forward to my next visit.
The art is oustanding, and very provocative, loved every minute! The staff is also very helpful.
The Art Gallery of Ontario is a beautiful collection of human creativity, from the architecture of the spiral staircase to the artwork displayed in the various galleries. The staff was always present but never imposing. Highly recommended.... leave yourself at least half a day to enjoy.
Has some very nice and interesting pieces, although there is a significant amount of "things" I wouldn't call art.
Excellent collection, amazing building, highly recommend getting a membership as a regular adult ticket is a bit too expensive.
Always a peaceful place, one of my favourite places in Toronto.
A wonderful place to visit. You can have a great experience here and see many different artworks from different artists and diverse culture.
Gorgeous place with several interesting exhibitions and objects. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Also, my visit was very pleasant as the place is not usually crowded in the winter.
My only complaint about the AGO is that there's always so much to see that it's almost impossible to fit into one trip. I can't even fault them on giving me sore feet, though, as they have little racks of folding stools you can bring with you into the galleries. There are always at least a few special exhibits that change every few months or so, which means there are always new and exciting things to see as well, and I'm always pleasantly surprised to find out when my membership card grants me entrance into the EXTRA special exhibits that wpuld otherwise cost an additional fee. The staff are all incredibly polite and VERY knowledgeable, too. If I could give it six stars I would!!
LOVED it!! Definitely a place to spend a few hours.
The architecture of the building is stunning from both outside and within. Eclipsed only by the quality and presentation of the work contained within.
I love art so this place gets a 5. They have some amazing works from several different cultures and time periods.
Lovely , big museum at the heart of Toronto. Its spacious and contains a lot of great art pieces. They have a lot of section so prepare at a day alone if you want to visit everything in this museum. I really like the Jean Paul Riopelle art. If you want a calm and peaceful evening this is the perfect occasion to visit!
Wednesday nights have free admission from 6pm-9pm. Great variety of paintings and art pieces to view. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and informative.
Love this place for relaxation and learning something new every time there
Great layout of all the floors. The ballroom on the third floor is great for parties.
I love this place!!
It's awesome
The AGO has a wonderful variety of art exhibits and installations. This visit I made sure to see this exhibit. See photos
Poorest exhibitions and a great place to take the kids with a hands on learning centre that is full of activities and akids gallery.
A fascinating combination of a planned building with permanent exhibits and excellent exchanges. A meeting with rooted Canadian art. A visit that is pure pleasure.
Favourite place to spend an afternoon with nothing but headphones.
Huge place. Saw the Georiga O'Keefe exhibit and it amazing.
Been coming here since grade school for field trips and they've really improved & grown to be a really great art museum. They always manage to get travelling exhibits that are coveted around the world... Bowie, Guillermo Del Toro, etc... The rest of the exhibits are well curated and makes this a world class museum.
Love this place especially the tours conducted by volunteers.
Tons of art. Beautiful hallway with good Italian soda.
Wednesday after 6 is free and roaring with a great crowd. Great to meet people and make friends
I love the gallery even more since it expanded. The new shows are stimulating. The collection is like an old friend at this point. I return to see the works to marvel and to enjoy. I share my membership with friends and this is a great gift for them. Some have become members too so they can treat a friend and support art. The restaurants are all excellent. The coat check is a nice perk, that you often see in museums. I don't think of the AGO as a museum but it is.
Beautiful building, great atmosphere. The building itself is more interesting than a lot of the art. They also need more bike racks, sometimes you cannot find a place to chain your bike at all. But I am sick to death of being force fed a big ol' meal of white guilt whenever there is an installation from a native or black "artist". There's a series of giant photos of a old native woman in guilt ridden anti white blaming t-shirts and the words "colonialism" all over the walls, this isn't art, this is left wing indoctrination and is offensive. Photos from the 1800s of blacks, but we must be reminded of slavery again, when we didn't have here.
The first two floors have actual art, the fourth and fifth have so called conceptual garbage taking up valuable space that could be used to showcase real Canadian art or real aboriginal or Inuit crafts, carvings or art, without the continual guilt shaming. The CNE this year, 2017, had a massive quilt with hand made panels from just about every nation on earth with beautiful embroidery. They also had a huge quilt two years ago representing all the tribes in North America, all hand done, why can't the AGO get something like this where we can appreciate the time and skill of the artists?
There is one wall of ancient arrow heads, some dating to 9,000 BC, but very limited amount.
And a 1980 Pontiac Trans Am with biblical phrases all over the outside; not art: it's a waste of a nice classic car that should be on the road going to car shows....the car looks trapped, like it wants to get out of that gallery...
So much to see, it may be a two visit. Perfect for a rainy day. There was mixture of contemporary and historical artists
The cafe was bright and relaxing but pricey. The TUNIRRUSIANGIT: KENOJUAK ASHEVAK AND TIM PITSIULAK was amazing and worth every the ticket price just to view it.
Anthropocene was an incredible and sobering experience.
