The AGO itself is a beautiful space with a great restaurant and a huge variety of exhibits dealing with Canadian and international art (with a nice emphasis on indigenous art). I went with my family to check out the temporary Anthropocene exhibit and all I can say is wow. The exhibit focused on how humankind is leaving a signature on our world. World-renowned photographers and filmmakers have compiled a incredibly thought-provoking exhibit that illustrates irreversible marks of human activity on the planet. The exhibit dealt with events on all six inhabited continents and was well-explained and spaced in a logical and informative way. The exhibit is profound in that it proposed a new geological era (the Anthropocene) and it makes an unbiased, largely neutral case regarding humanity and the deep legacy that it will leave on this planet.
