Excellent special exhibit. Wonderful echibits inclyding Canada's Group of 7 as well as a large collection of Canadian artist, William Kurelek. A great way to spend an afternoon once a month or more.

At AGO we find Art, both inside and outside the Gallery. The building itself is a separate spectacle, reminiscent of an ocean liner seen from afar. Outside the Gallery are phenomenal sculptures, as well as a shop that offers a variety of souvenir options.

Great place for young children. Has a fantastic play area for kids and tables to eat at. Bathrooms are not conveniently located though. Should be near the area where the vending machines are. But it's fine.

An incredible monument for our city. Great general gallery and wonderful exhibitions. Staff are not concierge. Be mindful of renewal calls, they are done by third party and make sure you get your deal in writing.

Spectacular gallery. The European collection is nice, but the Canadian collection on the second floor is very impressive. Prominent placement of the group of seven and Tom Thomson along with good descriptions make for an enjoyable experience through Canadian art history.
The architecture is also beautiful, the atrium, main hall and the level two cafe are highlights.
Make sure you stop for a coffee on the second floor, just to sit and enjoy.

Nice.

For all of your 25 and under, go and get your free annual pass ASAP! It's a promo going on at the AGO for the next few months. There are a lot of really cool exhibits to see! Of course, the Yayoi Kusama, which is a permanent exhibit was one of the highlights for my friend and I. @roamwithros

I fell in love with this gallery from the moment I first saw it. The collections are amazing, although the architecture is my favourite part. My two favourite exhibits here were Infinity Mirrors and the Guillermo del Toro exhibit.

Wonderful gallery in Canada. Backpacks (of any size) are not allowed so you have to leave them in the coat check. On a busy day, prepare to spend up to 20 mins waiting in line. Save the time by using the other (hidden!) coat check, located downstairs (get there with the staircase located past the gift shop). It usually has much shorter lineups. Or forego the backpack altogether. All tours are very interesting and informative, but some (and not necessarily the 2 pm, main tour) go way above and beyond, lots of depth in art, gallery architecture, history, etc.

Impressive, a huge art center, 5 floors, dozens of expositions. Contemporary art of Canada and not only, at times, very strange :) but I advise you to visit here, enjoy the art of modern figures. To get around all the halls, it takes about two hours, or even more, so, be sure to have time and patience)

a creative mainstay in the heart of the bustling city of Toronto, Ontario, the AGO is a fabulous place to spent time year round viewing the most amazing artifacts, art masterpieces, and cultural treatures from across the globe, from the ancient past to the present. The AGO is located at the corner of Dundas Street West and McCall Street, next to the Ontario College of Art and Design.

I was there for First Thursdays with DMC! DMC was all right, nothing special but the atmosphere for a Thursday night was fantastic. Great time. Too bad I am missing October's first Thursday :( .

One of my favourite places to go in Toronto...amazing place, great atmosphere and continuously changing exhibits. Member events are an added bonus and make the annual membership more than worth it.

Spent the afternoon here with my daughter on a tour it was my best time here. The lady giving us the your was very knowledgeable about the art she was showing us.
Was a pleasure being there to see the wonderful exhibits and learning some new things. The AGO is a must go family outing great for every one.

A great destination in the heart of old Chinatown, the AGO easily fits into an excursion into a very walkable part of Toronto on a Sunday.

There are some stunning pieces there but also some serious headscratchers, typical of any gallery devoted to modern art. The exhibition could have been more interesting if it was more informative and educational.

I love the AGO, my favorite is the model ship collection in the basement. Even though admission is steep there are many options in Toronto for residents to get free passes, such as the public library!

Large museum with several sections to explore. What I liked the most was the special part of the infinite mirror of the yayoi kusama. You can only stay for a minute in there, but it was worth it.

Allow half a day to go through all the rooms. Access to the 4th and 5th floors is complicated: ask a guard how to get there. The museum has a fine collection of Canadian arts, including an impressive collection of paintings by Cornelius Krieghoff on landscapes of Lower Canada as well as other paintings on the full battles of Abraham from 1760.

The exhibit was absolutely exquisite! I went through it with a fine-tooth cone and read every single little detail about every single painting sketch Etc and was just enthralled buy it all! I have since bought a yearly pass and I'm sure that I will be enjoying it to the utmost. Thank you for bringing Ruben to the Art Gallery of Ontario! It is really worth seeing.
