This is a great place to take a family. Food was great and service was excellent. This particular Rainforest Cafe even had entertainers performing balloon and magic tricks at diner's tables, which was fun.

Server was nice and attentive, however their cook might need to go back to culinary school. We asked for a steak cooked medium well, however we received an uneven piece of meat. We asked for a $30 plate, and the quality of food was not up to par. Very disappointed!

Awesome place to see, but be prepared to pay around $20/person. We ordered the sampler appetizer n pd 7 extra for 3 1/2 small ribs, had one root beer on the ticket and was over $30. Honestly, over priced but a must see place.

WORST greeting I've EVER experienced. Unbelievable. The hostess acted like we had interrupted her midday nap and she couldn't be bothered. Not only did she use the podium as a support to lift herself out of her chair with both hands, she then dramatically, audibly sighed and asked us, with a frown, " how many?". DAMN. Glad my kids were with me, so I could use this as an educational moment. Wow.

If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would.

If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would.

We had family visiting from overseas, and were excited to share the Rainforest Cafe experience with them and our children to celebrate my daughter s birthday. Though the wait was an hour+, we understood that it comes with the territory. However, once we sat down everything continued to go downhill.

Our waitress was kind and very apologetic about the entire experience, and because of the lengthy wait, we ordered immediately. The food not only took another hour (appetizers, mind you), but they were almost inedible. The starter trio felt like it had been sitting out for a while before arrival. Artichoke dip was cold and not melted, the mozzarella sticks were soggy and not melted, etc. Our chicken and shrimp entree ($23) was inedible because the chicken was seized and the shrimp was rubbery. The rice was over cooked to the point of mashed potato consistency. Our guests tilapia entree was mushy and felt raw or like it had been defrosted incorrectly. The fish and chips was soggy inside halfway cooked and improperly defrosted.

It took over two hours to be given food that was completely inedible.

I could go on. Needless to say, we were disappointed and embarrassed for our guests and left hungry and paying (though slightly discounted... but still over $100) for a meal we couldn t eat.

Do better, Rainforest Cafe Galveston.

Only thing we didn't like was that one person got us to the table, one got us the menus, a different one the drinks, a fourth person brought them to the table and third person comes back to take our ordera 5th came and told us he was our server and then a 6th person comes and ask us again. I almost forgot, a 7th person got us the check. Hey, but when it was time to sing the happy birthday to the kid on the next table, only two guys showed up.

Great environment, great atmosphere, great staff. I mistakenly ordered my steak well done, I'm from out of town where well done means something different. They brought it out and it was scorched. Oops. BUT they fixed it and my meal was *perfect*. Great job, will be returning in the future.

I read the reviews before coming here, so I can say FOR SURE now that I came here for the experience.

The place is really cool with the animals and occasional thunders. My kiddo was a bit intimidated by the big animals being so up close but was intrigued by everything there.

It's really noisy but since I am a parent... it really didn't bother me at all lol

We didn't order drinks cos we feel that they're overpriced (really don't care for the souvenir glass). I didn't understand why some reviews said the food was overpriced (prices looked okay for a touristy area) until I saw the portion and quality... yea, portion is on the smaller side and definitely mediocre quality. I ordered the Jungle platter, the steak was good, but the shrimp was overcooked. The "safari fries"... more like frozen fries you get from the store.

The 4th star came from their river ride (unique at this location and was $6.49 per person). Seemed much more worthwhile than the ordinary rides at the Pleasure Pier (which cost $10 just to walk on it).

So overall, if you've never been to a rainforest cafe or want to take your kiddo for the experience, give it a try. Otherwise, there are better food choices elsewhere.

The fact that the manager and host still work here is beyond me. We called thirty minutes before we arrived asking if needed to reserve a table. They stated there was no need to and walking in would be fine. We arrive a half hour later to be told there s a 45 minute wait. When we stated we called asking if we should ve reserved a table and was told not to worry, the manager didn t care and the host shrugged his shoulders. Don t come here.

Service was good, a bit slow but they were busy. Pastalaya wasn't very flavorful, rubbery shrimp and dry chicken with bland noodles. Its more of an atmosphere place than food place imo. 3 year old enjoyed the decor.

We celebrated our son's birthday party here and it was so nice. The staff was excellent and paid attention to all of our needs. I didn't know that there was a safari water ride, so we all took a ride on the water. This ride was very unique. Galveston really surprised me with the varieties of things to do there. We will definitely visit again!

Expensive and understaffed.

Expensive and understaffed.
Took the boat ride, and when we came to the end there was no one to let us off. The family in front of us called the restaurant on their cell phone to tell them to send someone. The same staff was also running the duck game; taking tickets to the ride; as well as operating the ride itself. I was very concerned that if something had happened on the ride who would have known?
The meal itself was very disappointing, aside from the price and portion size. The ribs had to be sent back as they were very fatty and had bits of gristle in them. The second set came back not much better. Not sure why you would put BBQ sauce with bland shrimp. The children's burger looked liked the 99 cent hamburger that you get from McDonalds. The mash potato had a strong garlic taste and were cold.
Could not even say the place was pleasant as there there buckets of brown water all throughout the restaurant from the leaking roof. The displays all looked tired and needed updated.

Not good. This place used to be great. Now its overpriced, poor quality food and the place is falling apart. Our booth seat was broken and I fell off and the waiter actually told me it was my fault the seat was not made to be bolted in. The kids meals were about the quality of a microwave dinner. Arrived cold and for a side of fruit they literally opened up a can of pineapple and poured that on their plates. The kids received 2 rotten pieces of oranges too. The adult meals were expensive and just not tasty at all. The staff are minimal and not experienced at all,, but doing the best they can. Doubt they've been trained. Such a shame. This was such a fun place. It desperately needs to be cleaned and remodeled. The animals are falling apart too! Venture at your own risk!
