Rainforest Cafe, Galveston Review

The wait to get a table was long. The food was average. I had chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and rice. It was average. It have had better chicken fried chicken at Chili's for a lot less money. The service was average. She was pleasant, but charged us twice for our drinks. The manager reversed it, but he did not return the itemized receipt. The only reason to visit Rainforest Cafe is to entertain the children in your group.

The atmosphere and food are great! Great for families.

We celebrate Kileys birthday at Rainforest Cafe in Galveston every year. We love the atmosphere, the kids always have a blast. We wish the food was as enjoyable as the atmosphere.

Took my neice here, she loved it. The food was surprisingly good.

Everytime i go there specially Galveston location i come out happy person. Love this place. Food environment and staff great. Management puts lots of hard work and keep this place to high standard for atkeast last 6 years i am going there. Kudos to all and keep up the good work.

I really love Rainforest Cafe so this pains me but I was served raw chicken. The manager was very nice and gave us our entrees for free though. The waiter was new and didn't really know the menu well. He also couldn't hear us and brought me the wrong drink instead of clarifying. I love the atmosphere and the river ride. I still love this place just had a bad experience.

Amazing!!!! Entire family had a blast, food was awesome, drinks were great, and staff was very nice.

The kids loved it!!! Great place!! The food is okay, the staff seem slightly miserable, and that frog came over and motioned to me why am I so sad, which irritated me. I was in a great mood, I felt rather embarrassed by that, just weird!! I saw him do it to someone else too. Kids had fun, be ready to drop a lot of money, especially of your kids want to do on the river ride!

I have been here before and the food was alright and the experience was good but this time was far from good. The batter on the chicken fried chicken was so wet it was pretty much a goo. also on the fish tacos the fish they put on the tacos were three times the size of the tacos and had a awful taste. We overlooked it and paid for a meal and decided to do the Little River Ride.the waterfall that is supposed to shut off before you go under it did not shut off and now we are soaking wet with water in our shoes and all they had to say was sorry no refund or anything else. Will not be going back.

Food is a bit expensive and pretty good. You're obviously paying for the atmosphere. The kids absolutely love it, so kudos to that. The ride was a descent price. Overall well kept place and friendly staff. Will definitely treat the kids to this place every now and then.

It's a nice place to take kids to.
They have animals that makes noise and moves every 30 minutes. You get a lot of food. We took half of it home.

That was a ride to remember. The tunnel of love, need I say more.

If ur ever down in Galveston Texas this is a place to stop and eat a very family oriented place

Loud, crowded, overpriced, mediocre quality tourist trap. Wait for normal super time is around an hour, waiting area is a giant store, and there is very limited seating. There is a nice fish tank and some fun ambiance, but that only goes so far. Last time we visited, the host told us the wrong wait time (half an hour longer that she said), then got belligerent and called my father a liar when she was confronted.

Food was surprisingly good. Expensive lunch but typical with the atmosphere.

We got most of our family in here. Good food, good service. The facepainter was excellent with our kids!

Dont order the steak and shrimp disappointed mediocre food

Service was a move and beyond. Great burger and grilled shrimp.

Waiter only came to our table twice (drink order, food order) then about 45 minutes later we saw him LEAVING. Never introduced a second waiter and we watched all of the tables surrounding ours that came in staggered from 30 minutes to an hour all get their food before us! Our appetizer took 20 minutes and our food didn't come out for another HOUR after that. Super disappointed this time.

This restaurant was very busy, as I suppose it is most days, especially on the weekend. Service was pretty slow, but that was expected since they were so crowded. Still enjoyed the meal and the lively atmosphere. The food was very good. Definitely would go there again!

Best place to take the family for lunch or dinner. Lots of action. The food is great. Decent alcohol variety. Gift shop and ride as well.

Had a wonderful time with my granddaughter. We ever tried the volcano.. You better have a few friends to eat it with. I was a lot.. Manager was very nice. We even had a new waiter that was super. It was his first night & you would have never known it. Thanks to all for making my night in the jungle memorable. Mrs. Jones

A lot of adults with no face mask and extremely busy so social distancing was impossible but Kids loved it!! The food is good. Only giving two stars because the mgmt should of done a better job regulating how many people can come in at once. Your website says mask are required.

We went here twice. First for discovering the place and the second time for my birthday. Excellent customer service, and very fun place. The water system is awesome and I was amaze to discover all of the forest creatures in this place. Again excellent food and good Birthday experience.

Got chicken fajitas you could tell they were out of a bag

This is hands down the best place to bring the kiddos when in town. The food and experience is just all around fantastic. The service is great and if you happen to be there on a weekday in off season it's usually quiet and not crowded at all!

The place was clean but they allowed ppl without masks in big families & not all of them have medical conditions to not wear a mask. I'm immune comp'd w asthma & copd l wear a mask they should too. The wait was 1.5 hrs so we ate at the bar. The wait staff very friendly professional & helpful. The menu was very very limited burgers, salad, chicken fingers, and pasta w chicken or shrimp. I had a wonderful pina colada yummy w/ a burger. We rode the ride very cool! I bought a sad faced llama named Lola there. Had a good time! Ppl wear your masks!

Amazing customer service in Superfast seating even on Mother's Day! We were in our table in 10 minutes for a party of four, our orders were cooked as we specified, and we're delicious! Everyone was very accommodating and smiling and we will absolutely return to this location because of the service that we received on Mother's Day.

Pricey, but totally worth it!! Wait staff were friendly, engaging, and very helpful. Love the thunder storms. 10 out of 10 pineapples!

The Rainforest Cafe always delivers.
My family and I have been to this establishment multiple times and it has never failed to deliver amazing food and excellent service.
Every dish has come out perfectly, even with any alterations we have requested.
The servers are always on point; being knowledgeable and accommodating with a smile. The atmosphere is always fantastic; perfect temperature and unique, fun decor.
If you are looking for island inspired dishes, a unique and fun atmosphere, and exemplary service then please, visit the Rainforest Cafe in Galveston. It will add so much to your vacation.

Pricey, so-so food, good service, great atmosphere.

The place in general was just filthy from the booth we were seated in to the table, even the carpet looked as if it hadn't seen a vacuum in a month.

It was great! During Spring break the waiting time is more than 3 hrous!

The staff and manager were great, made it a fun experience for my grand daughter and brought a different sauce after carefully checking ingredients for my daughter, who is deathly allergic to mango. Beautiful fish tanks and animatronics inside.

It was a good place to take my boys (1.5 & 4) I think they enjoyed it. But I feel like there was so much going on it was a little overwhelming, though I guess that's the point. We were a little disappointed the balloon lady never can to our table and the frog costume gut never came to the back where we were seated. Cool atmosphere though. The food should have been alot better for how expensive it was. Though the shouting of Volcano every time they brought a cake out was a little annoying to add to all the other noises lol. I recommend doing a call ahead reservation other wise you'll be waiting over an our to be seated as they doesn't seem to over use too many tables. Over all not sure we will go back seeing how there were more con's than pro's for us. But now we know...

I waited for 45 minutes for my food was never even acknowledged about it except when I was brought an appetizer worst experience of my life and I ve even been there before and that is why I went back because the atmosphere was great the first time this round absolutely horrible

It's always fun to visit this place... menu need to improve... but fun theme and the boat ride was cool.

Paid a nice amount of money for my meals I ordered chicken fried chicken and to get all the way home and there was no gravy very upsetting. The green beans were not done very hard

Best experience for our little ones. The river raft ride is worth every penny too. Food at this location was excellent compared to the Grapevine location. I would highly recommend stopping here is you have kids or just want to act like one for a little while.

Such a cool place. Fun for adults and kids. I can't wait to take the ride the next time we visit. The animals move in the restaurant, there are thunderstorms, forest sounds, fish tanks, and jungle theme.

First time there. Wasn't impressed with the food. Waiter was wonderful. The water ride was wonderful. It was very different, reminded me of the jungle.

Food was tasty and a little pricey but I will paid for it. Good service. $122.00 for 4 includes child plate and three adults with the Vulcano dessert. And one appetizer. They also have and small ride $6.50 per person plus build the bear inside. A huge fish tank and forest feels like style dinning room. I will come back anytime. Galveston location

We had a large party (17 people) with eight (8) kids. The service was fantastic! Micheal, John, and Dimitri took care of getting our table set up and the food served. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I can't compliment the staff enough, especially John who dealt the most with the children.

Over price but below average food. Service was ok... This place always crowded and they should have more employees work during peak hours...

Helo and salutations! I was out and about wondering what place could take me on a "safari for the senses" before I heard about this place. By the divines, was this place exactly as it was described. The gift shop took me back to when I used to poach for all of the rare and exotic animals, driving them to their untimely extinction despite conservation efforts! The food is delicious (especially the dinosaur nuggies), and the atmosphere is incredibly immersive, especially when sitting next to the gorilla - always making me feel like it's going to be dragging me around in the cafe before the employees shoot for the killing blow.
Anyway, 5/5 return.

P.s. Only downside was getting bit by a mosquito there and being diagnosed with malaria, but the volcano cake was always worth lying about my birthday everytime I dined in!

Yearly Back to School tradition. We love it. Coconut shrimp is yummy . Anything else that we've tried is also awesome! Yum! Really neat place for kids. Lots of "animals" to see.

Service was fantastic. Food was good, very filling. The atmosphere was fun for the kids, they enjoyed looking at all the fish and animatronic animals. The ride was fun too.

Its amazing to see the kids faces light up when we walk in here! When the whole jungle comes to life inside, it is so amazing! Then outside, you can see the volcano "erupt"! The ride inside is dark and foggy, so it can be a little "scary" for the little ones. We normally come here for a birthday and order The Volcano dessert! Huge slices of chocolate cake stacked to look like a pyramid with scoops of ice cream in the middle topped with a sparkler! It's so cool! The rest of the menu is blah.

We go on occasion to Rain Forest Cafe we always have a wonderful time. The prices are a bit high but you have to take into account that they are the only restaurant that is decorated as the name they call themselves. The building is beautifully decorated. My favorite dish is the called the "awsome appetizer" with the spinach dip, chips, cheese sticks, egg rolls and tender which basically is an entree. Staff is friendly. The Landry's club member card also comes in handy.

Food was good, wait staff was attentive. Overpriced, but I guess you pay for the experience. 10 year old loved it, 7 year old was scared. Teenagers loved it.

They were very short staffed but the family really enjoyed it and that is what it is all about!

Fun for all.... Good food, jungle decor, go and see for your selves.
