Visited mid week with two 13 year old boys. it was better than I remembered (20 years ago) and I thought the park was better maintained and a great place to go on a very, very quiet day.

The rides were okay and pretty good in the context of a park in a small country not at the scale of the overseas one. We genuinely had a great day.. I especially recommend Rainbows end mid week, the lack of queues and a bit more space is nice. Mid Week outside public holidays, I recommend you go if you can. You spend your entire time doing rides. No queues.

Would I change anything.. I thought only a couple of the people running the rides showed any joy or glimpse of happiness. Management I believe need to find a way to keep all of them happy and enjoying themselves, admittedly they could have found the light workload a bit boring, but the gloomy people were infectious and one or two quite unwelcoming. An example of the good was the couple of great people who let us stay on and made it easy to do the rides a couple of times as no one was queuing, especially our favourite the Log Flume. Where as one really grumpy lady on the main roller coaster kicked people off after just one circuit despite next to no one in the queue.

Despite that long winded grumble. We loved the day

Okay rides and, yes, we did have fun for a couple of hours, but we probably won't come back any time soon. Unfortunately, this seems to be the best theme park NZ has to offer, but it's a far cry from what you can find overseas.

A brilliant place to take the kids for a day out, and some great fun for adults also... The only fault I have is the pricing, it's definitely not worth $220 dollars for a day out, and that's just entrance, not food and drink.
One of those places to go every few years, maybe.

Been many times and never gets old, but don't be fooled by the google description saying "Many roller coasters" as there is only one large coaster, a very tame gold mine coaster, and a small kids one that only kids under 10 and parents can go on. But the rides are very fun and it is the only theme park in new zealand althogh I would recomend some scarier roller coasters and rides.

In 20 years I've been to Rainbows End three times. And I'm very impressed! More rides, more games, the bumper car ride is bigger and better, awesome entertainment too! My only downside is the 4D ride as it's not dinosaurs but something else that takes you away of first person action. Overall really happy and can't wait to go again in the next so many years.

Fantastic place to take the family. Ticket's are not cheap but definitely got my values worth. My girls really enjoyed the AA driver's town although I thought the ride could have been a little longer. Log flume was awesome. And the corkscrew was terrifying.

I don't like rainbows end because every time i go i usually get sick from either kids coughing on me or general unhygenic rides. The last time i went on the pirate ship ride a girl through up and staff did not clean it up they simply left it there and put the next lot of people on. I would not recomend this place for a birthday party as the kid might like it but get ready for the consequences i only go for my family now and when i do go i take a back pack, wetnaps, and hand sanitizer trust me you will need it.

Pretty good family activity. Recommend paying the adult price if you have smaller kids (<9) as even things like the log ride can be better with a grown up. Great selection of foods, fantastic covered seating areas with non stop entertainment. They even had the J-Geeks (ex NZ has talent) who were just awesome. Went on a Sunday during summer holidays and hardly anyone around. Small waits for the more popular things. $50-60 ticket price is worth it given you can spend the whole day here. The kids kingdom area is great for little ones, under 9 I think. Small versions of the big rides go really well for the kids.

Saturday 21 Dec. Enjoyed the day for my baby s 2nd birthday. Such a great venue and the kids fun park venue was superb. The let down was when we ordered fish and chips, which I didn t buy? This is bought by my niece and nephew. While the kids were eating and during this time I actually grabbed one to bite and it looked burnt and it was so hard to bite into. I said, this is burnt and hard to eat. I was furious as if I had known this prior to them receiving the x10 fish and chips meal pack, I would have returned it right then for them to cook again. IF U R A VISITOR TO THE FISH AND CHIP SHOP. CHECK YOUR FISH BEFORE U TAKE THEM AWAY. This is appallingly bad service and waste of our money at this fish and chips caravan. If only I had purchased our meal pack on this day, this would not have been written.
So I have figured? The fish would have been frozen and put into the deep fryer frozen and obviously no one checked the cooking temperature

Amazed with how well organised this park is, I am travelling from the UK to NZ and have visited many UK parks, this by far is the best due to the friendliness of staff and the fact that even though it is winter all rides were operational and run on a timetable to get the most out of staff and to also keep guests happy. Worked a treat a great day out had by myself and my two daughters.

Awesome place for families. Great rides, fun entertainment, the park isn't too big, and rides aren't too far apart which makes for an easy walking day. Plenty of rides. Lots of places to eat. Quite pricey to eat there, but they allow you to bring your own food in. Lots of places to sit and rest and shaded areas.

Ripped off by the vending machine that lets you win soft toys. Got the toy three times and filmed it and every time it dropped the soft toy, fully rigged and filmed ha. Complained and they told me to go to another company who manages it. Total bull.

Low value for money; generally bored & unfriendly staff who does not understand anything about client services - looked frustrated to be there on a Sunday...My girl and boy had minimum rides available for their age/length for the expensive price we had to pay! Moat expensive hotdogs order and messed up the order...a few good kids' rides and honest visitors who handed in our wallet for collection.

I really enjoyed Rainbow's End on the 2 occasions I have visited this year. My favorite ride was the log flume! Riding through the enchanted forest was amazing! Wait times were super short meaning I got to ride most things more than once. Food is fairly priced if you compare it to other tourist attractions.

Awesome to spend a night out letting go and returning to the youthful days when nothing would stop me,....Night rides best for Kids 11+ the atmosphere was Soo enjoyable..But not the SCREAMING little girl yelling about the line...just watch the overly cool kid w the big mouff a little tone it down Hun seemed to do the trick. For 10 mins lol...

Not many people. It's easier to sit down, and the entertainment parks in Asia will be much better. It is also convenient to take the train here. There is a shopping mall next to it. Smaller children will be less cost-effective.

Good day of family fun, quite expensive for what it is, if you go during peak times, expect a really long wait in line. I recommend if you want a good time, go at a time hardly anyone will be there ie. Weekdays etc
