Railey Vacations was super simple to book with. The house was beautiful and well kept. It snowed when we arrived and we couldn't locate a shovel to clear the walkway but maintenance was a breeze to get in touch with. They brought a shovel out fairly quickly and even shoveled a small path for us. I'd book with this company again in a heartbeat.

We stayed at Cherry Creek. A 14 person cabin, dock, over 800 a night.
Upon arrival there was no way to get on wifi ( had been reset). Three different log ins and passwords in the home.. Once I got through the phone line IT was very prompt and actually personally showed up to help. If you don't have cell service, there is no way to reach out.

The reason for 2 stars is the upkeep and cleanliness of the property. I attempted to call Railey vacations to explain concerns and was told someone would return my call. It has been days since we checked out and I have heard nothing.

The bathrooms had mildew and missing tiles.
Light in entrance was hanging by a cord.
Toilet paper holder torn from wall
The coffee pot could not be used as had clearly never been cleaned.
Cobwebs on furniture and ceiling.
We had to clean the outdoor dryer lint trap for fear of a fire starting.
Toilet seat in master bath broke.
There was a poor smell outside the property and we worried septic may be backed out.

Lastly, for guests traveling so far ( during a pandemic) it would be nice to have basic toiletries ( soap, shampoo, conditioner etc).

Positives: ample cook wear and serving wear. Nice decor, nice dining area, ample sleeping space. Beds were clean.

We were pleasantly surprised about the cleanliness when we arrived. The kitchen was fully equipped to prepare all meals. We loved that there was a Keurig. The location to be able to ski in and out is awesome. We loved all of the space including the full bathrooms and the open floor plan concept was great for our families. The maintenance issue for the hot tub with handled immediately. The maintenance issue for the hot tub with handled immediately. The communication with the rental agency was excellent. We would definitely come back.

We've rented from Railey for many years, but the q...

We've rented from Railey for many years, but the quality of their properties has declined severely. Besides the fact that the two properties we rented weren't ready at check-in time we've had the following issues:

-Damaged dock, partially sunk with steps missing from the ladder
-Broken and mildewed deck furniture
-Unmaintained trees with branches ready to fall
-Yard unmaintained with leaves and weeds everywhere
-Refrigerator/freezer that failed on day 3
-Items in kitchen drawer covered in mold
-Kitchen sink partially rusted through
-Partially torn carpet and repaired with duct tape
-Septic system not functioning upon arrival

With weekly rental fees in excess of $4,000, we expected a bit more. Don't be misled by the beautiful pictures on the website, it's clear that the maintenance and cleaning are being totally neglected.

We've made these concerns clear to management, but they explain that this is their busy season so no other properties are available. Railey is the dominant provided in this market, but I'd recommend finding another property management company if possible.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Red Moose Lodge. We went snow tubing and had a blast. The house was nice and cozy. We will definitely be going back again this summer and will be making this an annual winter getaway.

Every year my husband and I take our family to Dee...

Every year my husband and I take our family to Deep Creek for a family ski event! This year I booked Glendalake with Railey Realty. What a beautiful home! A very up dated home with the MOST comfortable beds I've slept in with a rental in a very long time. I HIGHLY recommend this home through all seasons as it is a lake front property which is beautiful with the snow fall and I'm sure equally as beautiful in the spring, summer and fall!

We stayed at Copper Canoe for a family weekend and had a great time! Everyone at Railey Vacations was very friendly when making the reservation and whenever we called with questions. The check-in process was a breeze at the rental. The inside of the property was very clean and plenty of room for 5 couples and a few kids. We had amazing weather and were able to take advantage of all the deck space! We would definitely book with Railey Vacations again in the future!

The home we recently rented had numerous issues......

The home we recently rented had numerous issues...broken windows, screens, appliances (stove, dishwasher), lack of comfortable seating on the decks, peeling paint, dirty coffee pot to name a few. While Railey did send repair persons, nothing was done about the major issues, ie appliances. According to the appliance person, he had been there the previous week for the same thing.

When we complained about the quality of our vacation, we were given a very minimal refund and informed that the do not usually offer any refund. They do not guarantee that any of the appliances, amenities are functional!!!

Railey needs to check on the condition of their properties and deal with the home owners when so MANY things are out of order.

This company was horrible In the midst of the pandemic. They would not allow a reschedule despite our constant calls when the state of emergency was first instituted in March. Our reservation wasn t until May. The state of emergency was literally lifted the night before our reservation and they still demanded payment in full. The message on their phone basically stated if your worried about coming due to this deadly virus TOO BAD. Finally after a million calls on the day of they allowed us to cancel the reservation But STOLE our deposit! DON T book with this company! They have no integrity!! Take your money to a company who values their customers.

My friends and I rented a lakefront home with a do...

My friends and I rented a lakefront home with a dock for Memorial Day weekend through Railey Mountain Lake Vacations. We planned on bringing a boat, so we booked a house on the lake with a dock months in advance. The day after we paid the house off in full, we were contacted by Railey Mountain Lake Vacations that the lakefront house was no longer available and we had the option to choose from two other houses that were not lakefront for no additional cost. Neither option was very accommodating for our planned trip. After voicing our frustration to Railey Mountain Lake Vacations they were unsympathetic, unhelpful, and rude.

We ended up staying at the Red Moose Lodge. The house was big and decorated really fun but we could not get passed all of the negatives; the outdoor furniture was covered in dirt and cobwebs, the hot tub water was green and reeked of chemicals, there were nails sticking up all over the deck, all of the showers were backed up and didn't drain properly, the air conditioner stopped working the last day, and the fire pit was on a steep hillside.

Unfortunately, we will never rent a home using Railey Mountain Lake Vacations again. What was supposed to be a great weekend getaway turned into a big disappointment. Their customer service is terrible and the property was a mess.

My husband and I booked a house as a Christmas gift to our whole family. The entire weekend just could not have been better! The house, Sweetwater Ridge, was very nice and was a perfect fit for our 8 adults and 5 children. The very nice customer service people at Railey were great to work with from the time of the initial booking and throughout the weekend of our trip. Surprise! Someone always answered the phone when I called! When we arrived at the house there was a small issue that needed to be resolved and a service technician was there within 30 minutes of my call. When I book another visit to Deep Creek Lake, and I will!, I will definitely book it through Railey Vacations!!!

Stayed at Deep Creek Village over Memorial Weekend. We planned last minute due to COVID. Just wanted a change of scenery and down time relaxing with our family. Everything was clean and all instructions were very clear. Great communication. We had lots of space. The downstairs was an extra bonus we weren t aware of. Convenient location across from Wisp Resort. We love this area. It s a regular get away for us.

We stayed at Mountain View #3 july 19-26 th 2020. We had a wonderful experience. The house was clean, well equipped, and a great value being lakefront. We had one issue with the oven and called. The maintenance man came over that night and fixed it and also evaluated the jetted tub that was not working to determine it was inoperable. He said he would report it. The only other issue is minor- the dishwasher does not dry the dishes at all even after sitting for a long time so we had to hand dry each dish. The pull out sofa bed in basement seems to be broken also- it sags almost to the floor at the foot area.
Other than that, the house itself is amazing. Beautiful views. Your morning person will want to sleep in the front bedroom as that is direct east exposure. The house is in a great location to do all that dcl has to offer. We went white water rafting, kayaking, rented a pontoon boat- and the dock with the house is a huge bonus. Check in and out was seamless. Great experience.

I reserved a house for 16 of us in early Sept for a cabin weekend for a group of friends for New Years Eve for $2,600. Then late October I get a phone call saying that our house is sold and no longer available. Why was the house up for rent if it was up for sale? You could have told us that so we didn't have to take a chance. They then said I would have to pay DOUBLE to get a house that was even SMALLER than what I paid for because that's all they had left. This company is a joke and if you have a reservation, you shouldn't have to pay double (another $2,600) the price because they were careless

Railey is a professional outfit and responsive to issues. The gas grill tank was almost empty (seemed quite light when hefted) and they replaced it the next morning to avoid our running out while cooking that next steak! The rental process was smooth from start to finish. Keyless entry and non-contact check in and out was terrific. House was as described and made a great getaway for the two of us.

We booked a birthday ski weekend with the rental company. BEWARE that mountain opens LATE in Dec. You would think that the advisors would be expert enough to guide you that the dates you are looking for are not dates when the mountain will likely be open. Instead, tough luck and significant cancellation fees. I took a chance to book through a company rather than my usual VRBO, and will not do that again. Guess money and not customer service are their goals.

We had a great time during our stay at Deep Creek. Railey Vacations made the whole process seamless through their app. They were quick to respond to any questions we had and left a cute welcome bag when we arrived :) The communication leading up to our time was great as well, very detailed on what to expect, pack and what was available in the rental. We will defiantly be using them again!

For the second year in a row we rented a cabin in Deep Creek through Railey Vacations. This is a fantastic vacation rental company. Very professional and very thorough. This year I forgot to sign my confirmation paperwork, which would have prevented our group from checking in at our cabin. Michelle from Railey Vacations emailed me the morning on the day we were to check in and alerted me. Since we were already on the road, Michele assisted me in getting the paperwork signed and on file. Both vacations were fantastic and the cabin we rented were great. We are already looking for next year.

We stayed at "Ski Boots and Bathing Suits" July 12-15. The house has so much potential but needs some attention. The mattresses are uncomfortable as are the couches etc. The flooring in the upstairs master has to be the original. The rug in the kitchen ( I wonder what it is covering up ) is filthy and the knives need to be sharpened or replaced. On the plus side the location is good and there was plenty of hot water.

We stayed in the Whitetail. Everything was clean and tidy. The water in the hot tub was slightly cloudy, but nothing too bad. Our only complaints are with the beds. They were very very firm and uncomfortable, and the pillows were very flat. Also, the upstairs bed was advertised as a Queen, but it was a full. Aside from that, everything was great and we had a wonderful experience.

I hesitated to write this post hoping I would rece...

I hesitated to write this post hoping I would receive a reasonable response from Railey Vacations Management, however their slow response time and piddly compensation has changed my mind. I paid close to $7K for my vacation which far exceeds 1 months mortgage payment for this property. My vacation with Railey Vacation earlier this year was phenomenal, so we decided to go again due to covid-19 and so many travel restrictions albeit this will be our last time.

The first concern was receiving an email stating the property, Copper Canoe, was for sale and to possibly expect tours. This should have been a phone call not an email. The second concern was receiving an email, again no phone call, one hour before arrival that the gas stove/range was out of service. If the home was cleaned and a thorough walk thru performed to confirm it was vacation ready there would be no need to for this last minute oversight. I think it's ridiculous to have an experience like this during vacation and not speak to anyone except the technicians who installed the new range on day 4 of our trip. Once the range was installed I was asked to move it to an area in the home to keep it out of our way? I moved a table and asked the technicians to move it as me nor my family should be responsible for moving a range on our vacation or risk damaging the owners floors. The range was never picked up and stayed in the dining room area the duration of the trip. My family had to purchase over $1,000 of additional food locally that could only be cooked on hot plates due to the range being broken. To hear that the home was for sale via email and to expect tours is one thing, but to hear that the range is down via email is truly unacceptable. The home was not clean or it had not been used in a while including the amenities. I have several photos including the dirt ring around the pool, old spider webs that accumulated tons of bugs and dust and filthy surfaces. My family had to purchase cleaning supplies to perform high touch cleaning. Pest control had not come to the home to clear out the numerous spider webs inside/outside the house which had been there for a while. Several technicians came by to help to the best of their ability but I was never called beforehand to inform me to expect someone, we were at the lake several times and could have missed these technicians. 2 techs arrived without masks and hesitated to put them on after I asked them to wear them in the house stating they were almost done with the install?

After returning home from vacation I called and finally spoke with a representative for customer experience, Robin Spiker. I was told that management would consider compensation for the loss of the amenity. I was offered $400 credit and $100 for a future stay. That offer is ridiculously inequitable considering my family had to go to the local store and purchase additional food due to the loss of the range and our inability to go out and eat as a group due to our group size being too large due to covid-19. After I responding to the compensation offer I was told by Robin "I will take this to be reconsidered next week, but I doubt that $1000 will be considered. I will take it to management however. Thanks" This is poor service recovery and I will no longer consider myself a loyal or satisfied Railey Vacations customer! I would like to speak with the manager of Railey Vacations and not the customer experience representative. I should not have to wait another week for this to happen.

Mixed thoughts. The house we rented was gorgeous, well appointed, and absolutely spotless, but it wasn't "waterfront" as the AirBNB listing had claimed. I informed them of this mistake soon after we arrived, and they quickly corrected the listing, but that didn't help us for this stay, and no recompense was offered. Their booking systems are a bit byzantine as well. If you try to book through their main website, the property we looked at is only available on a whole-week basis, but if you book through AirBNB, you can do a long weekend or mid-week stay. Why? I don't think this is necessarily nefarious, but it's definitely confusing. After you book, you have to go through a ridiculous supplementary contract signing process, and they required me to submit a photocopy of my driver's license ostensibly to 'prevent identity theft' (which I take to mean 'to protect *them* from losing $$ due to a fraudulent booking' more than 'to protect *me* from identity theft'). These post-booking hoops are a first for me booking through AirBNB, and they were obnoxious. We would book with them again if they had a specific property we were interested in, but I would definitely consider other companies too.

First let me say Railey is a great company to work with. Check-in and out were seamless and everyone was professional and helpful. We stayed at Smack Dab and would give it mixed reviews. Overall the house was lovely. Our biggest issue was the proximity to the main road and the constant road noise. There is no peace and quiet at this house! The hot tub was unusable, but we were made aware of that prior to arrival and received a small refund for it. The deck is very small and there are no lounge chairs on the property. I also agree that the cleaning crew needs to be more thorough both inside and out. The deck was in need of a good sweeping, and you could write your name in the layer of dust on the lower coffee table shelf.

Rented the Castle (one of the so called nicest in the collection) $9000 for 4 days and it was far from a castle. The furniture was beat up, the kitchen was very small for the amount of people the house holds, needs new pots and pans, the house was very hard to keep at a comfortable temperature, master bedroom French door was boarded up, the pool had multiple tiles missing which cut one of our children s feet, and the list goes on. If your coming with a group, I would suggest bringing your own towels as what s provided is minimal. The pool is small and since the bonus room is above the pool it always has a chlorine smell to it. Highly suggest staying away from this so called castle

The house was huge; my group of 15 fit great. The extra beds over the garage were extremely helpful. Everything was clean and organized. The beds were very comfortable. The house is right around the corner from WISP and the local bars/restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

I was looking for a small house to rent for my two teenagers and me and ended up renting the Owl Cabin. The house was beautiful and comfortable and exactly like in the photos, and we had a great time. The check in and check out were very easy, and they had good procedures in place for contact-free check in due to COVID 19. We love Deep Creek Lake and will definitely be renting from Railey again. They have a great selection of properties and everything is very well run.

Not trustworthy or reliable!! If I could give them zero stars, then I would. They notified us less than 2 weeks before our trip that the cabin had been taken off the rental market after being booked 3 months in advance. We d already paid in full. When I called back, the representative was rude and unhelpful. She wouldn't give us any information about our refund or any other options for places to stay.

The house was in a great location! Finished were nice. Some of the seating was uncomfortable on the main floor and in the basement. One of the bathrooms had trouble with hot water. Our cable and internet didn't work the first night, but someone came out first thing the next morning. We had a fabulous time!

We stayed at the Captain's Quarters and had a wonderful time. It was beautiful and had a great view. The house was spacious and had three master suites. My only complaint is that it is off of a highway and so you can hear the noise, but nothing a noise machine can't fix! Again we had a wonderful stay!

We had a great experience renting from Railey Vacations for our weekend in Deep Creek, MD. The pictures of the rental on their website provided exactly what we found in the lake house. Check-in and check-out were simple and efficient, and the Railey office is easy to find. The rental was exceptionally clean and we had plenty of towels and clean linens for all the bedrooms. We would definitely rent from Railey Vacations again.

My family and two other families recently stayed at Waterfront Hideaway over New Year's. We certainly did not get what we paid for ($600 per night). Let me start by saying, that you cannot advertise a rental for for 12 and then provide DSL INTERNET IN THIS DAY AND AGE. We had 12 people: 6 kids and 6 adults, including 2 adults who were on working vacation, fully expecting operational wifi to work (including one surgeon who needed wifi to access patient files, test results, etc.). Our internet speeds were 100 times slower than today's standards, literally. None of the kids could use their devices, our TV programming was affected (required high speed internet to access programming), and our two adults who needed to work were completely handicapped. We made numerous calls to tech support and they told us that they understood and that too many rental properties refused to upgrade their internet to today's standards but were charging full price claiming to have it. This was 100% FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND THIS RENTAL COMPANY DESERVES TO BE SUED. The only solution we were offered was to PAY TO UPGRADE OUR INTERNET SPEED TO A USEABLE SPEED. This is outrageous. No one rents a home for $600 per night which is supposed to have Wifi should be then told to PAY FOR WIFI. Sadly, this was not our only issue. Our cabin had filthy dishes, glasses and cutlery. We had to rewash everything. One of the master bedrooms showers had a plumbing issue: water only came out freezing cold or scalding hot. Another master bedroom that appeared to be an addition had a separate HVAC that was not heating the room. There was trash on the downstairs deck, including cigarette butts, beer cans, etc. Despite our many calls and written replies to "how is your stay so far", nothing was done to address our issues, most notably our wifi issue that was making our stay miserable. Someone came to "fix" the water temperature in one of the showers, and simply wrote, "turn the handle 180 degrees." Are you serious?? Ridiculous. I plan to post a complaint at the Better Business Bureau. Update: I would like to add that the rental company has since gone back and edited the listing to show it as DSL only but has done nothing to address the false advertisement that was sold to us. We have not even received a call from them. I have therefore posted a formal BBB complaint.

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. The property (Rocky Knoll II) we rented had mice living in it - we found mice poop in the bathrooms, on the floor, and even in the master bed! We left a message to complain, and after the committee "reviewed" the issue they decided they couldn't refund the money. The reason they stated was because they couldn't reproduce the poops. What a joke - look elsewhere for a property. The staff is horrible and these people care only about the bottom line.

Stayed at Castle at the Lake located in what was described by Railey as the "prestigious Waterfront Greens community." The house is beautiful and beautifully appointed. However, if you are looking for a relaxing vacation where you spend quality family-time getting away from it all, DO NOT STAY in this house. The house to our left, to our right, across the way, and down the road had upwards of 20 people partying into the night. The Housing Association rules mandate a maximum of 5 cars in the driveways and we saw 8-12 cars crammed into driveways. People are supposed to be quiet after 11:00 and that is not happening. So, if its okay with you to have your elementary school-aged children see people in thongs staggering around in a drunken stupor and hearing people screaming foul language and blasting music all through the night, by all means rent this property.

We left some items in the house we rented and Rainey and their employees showed little care. I called and didn't get a response...same with the email I sent. When I called and finally got the girl who deals with the lost and found she told me, " oh yeah, I got the sticky with your message and lost it..." Long story short is they have never called me back. I don't know how these items weren't located. It was a group of stuff left in one room. I am very disappointed after spending over $5k on a rental that they really didn't care enough to TRY to help us out.

Did I mention when we finally got checked in at 4 we arrived at our house to the cleaners...cleaning. and I use this term lightly...we had to ask them to wipe down the sliders before they left as they had tons of sticky hand prints all over. So we spent our first few hours in the house with the cleaners....

Poor experience over all dealing with this company! Plan ahead and rent through another Avenue where they have some level of customer service!

We rented Bunbury Cottage for a few days after July 4th and specifically chose a house in the woods with a hot tub. We received a call on our way there that the hot tub was not working but possibly the parts would come in after a day or two. There were no other options for lodging as everything was booked. Upon looking at the hot tub (and the guest book), it was clear the hot tub had not been operational for a few weeks. When I called Guest services a few days into our stay to check the status I was told that the parts were back ordered. Judging by the condition of several things at this house lack of screens, uncomfortable Beds, deck in need of attention my guess is that no one had/has intentions of fixing the hot tub. There was also no mention in any literature about the house (and no book in the house for guests) about where to enjoy the lake access and that the tap water would be so irony that it s was not drinkable. Finally, though I know July is probably height of the season, we didn t appreciate having a big bin of the NEXT renters linens delivered to the house the day before we left. This was salt in the wound for us. I would not be likely to use Railey Vacations again.

We stayed at A Stone's Throw through Raleigh vacations on Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. We had an amazing time, the accommodations were great, everything was very clean, and check in was simple. Our biggest concern about the house was that we didn't have anywhere to put our food, which really was because they had every kitchen utensil you would possibly need! (Maybe a small pantry for guests in future)
We did run into a slight misunderstanding when it came to adding an extra night and the hot tub maintenance being rescheduled. However, management took care of it promptly and professionally! And throughout the whole process, the customer service was top notch! We will be sure to stay with them again and recommend them to all of our friends!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We visit Deep Creek on a regular basis. This is the first time we used Railey Vacation and it will be the last. We rented a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom lake house for 12 people. They advised a hot tub, an outdoor grill and 8 televisions. Upon arrival the house has dirty, the basement had a strong odor of urine, the hot tub was filled with dirty brown water, and the grill didn t have propane. We immediately attempted calling the company with negative results. Contact was made the next day after water started leaking from the ceiling of the main floor bathroom. The water was coming from the upstairs shower ( that had mold throughout). A hot tub guys as well 5 other contractors came through the day so we couldn t leave. They didn t fix anything, not the smell of urine, not the shower that had the floor rotting causing water to leak into the lower bathroom, not the propane and the hot tub was emptied and filled with freezing water that took 24 hours to heat . Only 3 of the 8 televisions would work and all of this was during a cold spell. In short we ended up with 12 people, two bathrooms (.in different buildings), 3 TVs and one day of a usable hot tub.
This company is impossible to get a hold of unless you are renting something. None of our issues were resolved and to top it off they changed my credit card 85 dollars in error and have yet to correct it.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They do not care about your experience, their customer service or what is right. We only stayed 3 days, two of which were completely ruined by them. Approximately 2,500 dollars and they offered us $100 refund. They also never reimbursed the money for the propane which we were told they would.
On top of all of this. We were told the home owner knew the floor in the master shower was bad and had been putting off fixing it. Due to the neglect it was severely rotted and we were lucky we didn t fall through the floor.

Due to the travel restrictions from COVID-19, my family and I wanted to take a nice relaxing vacation around Halloween. After looking around for places with an indoor pool, main level bedroom for my grandmother, views, and a hot tub, we landed on Beyond Bliss. The home is beautiful, huge, and designed so well inside and out. Both hot tubs and heated pool worked well and were clean upon arrival. The movie room was a huge bonus for the kiddos. My husband and I wanted to sleep on the level without the kids, so we slept downstairs and kids top level with plenty of space. Going on the off season was actually great because we got to enjoy that amazing smell of the falling leaves, and weren't bothered with neighbors noise or activity. Really beautiful home, location and area! We most certainly will go to Deep Creek again and certainly will rent through Railey in the future.

We had a few little issues, which didn't ruin our trip but certainly made us aware every day... There was a constant obnoxious beeping coming from a locked closet next to the downstairs bedroom, which we assumed was maybe an alarm clock. I contact the company right away and was told someone would come fix it, that never happened. This, combined with very uncomfortable beds and flat pillows, led to extremely poor sleep for us. I actually got up and went upstairs after the second sleepless night to try another (clean) bed, and it smelled of old cologne and musty laundry, so I just slept on a couch. Also, we did bring about 5 cords of our own wood for the firepit and fireplaces if needed, and I'm glad we did. Upon arrival, the wood provided for us for the fireplaces were left uncovered, so it was all wet and would not burn. The trash was also packed to the gills when we arrived (there was a wedding there prior to us, and the huge tent was being deconstructed our first day there). We had to stuff our trash in, and called to get it removed. We ended up leaving a day early due to family issues, but if we had stayed any longer we would have had to dispose of our own trash. A few random things were broken here and there, but mostly cosmetic or the shades on lights that were placed in a way that didn't appear broken, but the lights worked. A little wear on a few couches, chairs, the movie room chairs, and such but all things I would expect from a well loved rental.

I would love to come back to this home, but I cannot with the bedding currently there. (Amazon makes really inexpensive, UPS shipped beds, that are extremely comfortable and ones I used in our rental properties for years.)

My family stayed at Dream On for a much needed quiet getaway. The house was so much nicer than we expected! The photos on airbnb did not do the place justice. We were a little disappointed the hot tub was broken, but when we spoke with management they did everything the could to make things right for us. We felt so special and really appreciated Railey's efforts to make things right for us. My only complaint is a number of us had a rough night's sleep as the beds were a bit worn. We will absolutely be back! I am already thinking of our next trip at the lake!

Cons:
a few minor updates/fixes needed to the property, and for some reason when asking about the coffee maker filter size and if there was a crock pot, I got back an unhelpful "normal" and "maybe," which feel like they are pretty standard questions for a fall home rental.

I would also recommend providing extra kitchen garbage bags for the kitchen if there is a welcome pack (or in general). I think it would save the owner messy garbage cans--the renter doesn't have incentive to bag garbage as they should, but the owner does. it was clear that a prior owner had not bagged any extra garbage, and having rented from you in the past, I have seen this as a common issue.

We had never been to Deep Creek before and I didn't have high expectations for the cabin, but truly I was more than pleased. The house didn't smell or feel like someone else's home. It was a great location, I just thought it was going to be a little more isolated. I can't wait to go back!

I stayed at one of their vacation homes and had a big problem with the urgency of their staff to recover a lost item after staying at the home. Customer service was terrible. And along with that, the house promised lake access which it did not have. They were notified about the lost item June 24th and I have not received a response on it or a phone call back as of today, July 16th. If you prefer good customer service, this is NOT the place.

Four Couples stayed at Deep Creek Vista. FABULOUS! The house was clean and well kept. The items to be used were above average. Dishes, Glasses, pot and pans etc. Furniture was clean and comfortable, met the requirements needed. The ice maker was the magic touch. We never had to leave the house for our Thursday-Monday stay! Hot Tub was dirty upon arrival (people before probably had oil on their bodies). I called and less than 1 hour later, it was being drained, cleaned and refilled! OMG, I loved it! Perfect place for a private getaway for relaxation.

Just one week before our vacation we received a call informing us there was an "oversight" and the homeowner/Railey would not honor our lease. To top it off, they had no alternative homes available.

Update Regarding the response below from Railey: The reason our trip was cancelled just 7 days prior to our vacation was due to an error on your part coordinating with the homeowner, it had nothing to do with the safety or state of the property and was completely preventable. Look up our rental of Smooth Sailing scheduled for the week leading into 4th of July. I'm sure you will see the lengthy notes. We will most definitely visit Deep Creek again, we've been coming for over 20 years and will continue to do so, we love the area....but not with Railey.

After a serious mix up with our VRBO reservation. Railey Realty who is the property managing company for the rental property, really went out of their way to accommodate our requests. Railey s reservationists Jessica was amazing. We were upgraded to a new rental, she made the transition smooth she even met us at our new rental to make sure everything was okay. The new home is beautiful and very clean. We would recommend using Railey Reality. Be sure to ask for the Jessica!

We arrived at our lakefront rental today for memorial day weekend to find overgrown grass in the front yard and bird crap all over the chairs on the front porch. The inside was basically in a similar condition and it took us over an hour in 80 degree weather to figure out the emergency shut off switch for the A/C was shut off. We called the maintenance/housekeeping phone number and the attitude of the woman who answered the phone was along the tone of "oh no, I have to get off of my ass and deal with a problem". My wife spent an hour sweeping down all of the pollen and and spring droppings from the decks. Railey Mountain Vacations: my advice is to actually check your properties before you have customers rent them....that is what you get paid to do.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Water in the Sky in Deep Creek. The house was very clean and had plenty of towels and sheets for our stay. We also appreciated Railey Vacations for leaving us a bag of toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. During COVID-19 this was the perfect getaway stay.

We stayed at the Live a Little . This is a beautiful and very clean townhouse. We are a family of 5 and we slept very comfortably. The kitchen was equipped with all of our needs. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The master with a king size bed The second bedroom with a queen size bed and in the basement has another bedroom with a bunkbed queen at the bottom twin up top.The basement was nice and quiet and had a small heater if needed. There is also a pull out couch I believe in the basement so more than five people could ve stayed there. We plan on running this home again in the future.

However, we received an email a day later saying we needed to rent for a whole week not just three days and it was much more expensive. We had already let all our friends know and had to call them all back with the bad news. Customer service was no help. Railey Vacations has been a nightmare to work with.

We booked a house in September for my bachelor party. Due to Covid-19, we had to move the wedding to next year. We attempted to reschedule with Railey for next year, but the rental company refused.

I am a Type 1 diabetic, and my Doctor stated that I should not be around large groups, so now I cannot attend my own bachelor party.

We are looking into legal ramifications of them refusing to let us reschedule at the moment.

We stayed in Peaceful Easy Feeling. The place was just as the pictures showed. Very clean inside, however the outside looked as though it had not been cleaned for a year. The outside of the house had cobwebs and dirt all over it, the deck furniture had not been cleaned. The hot tub area was the same way. Also you need a flash light to get the top on and off, it was not located in a very easy access area. Also note, the landscape was steep to get to the fire pit and dock, steps or a path would have made this easier and the grass had not been mowed.

I was looking for a family vacation house rental in Deep Creek and came upon Railey Vacations. Website was easy to use and fast to filter and show different options. We settled on Paradise Cove Vista and the family loves it! The pictures on the website depicted the house perfectly. I had a few questions prior to arrival and Railey were quick to answer and super helpful. Review would be 5* but the key code given was incorrect, however, a call to the office quickly remedied that.

The family is already asking when we'll come back. I sense an annual vacation to Deep Creek is in the works and we know to use Railey to find our vacation house!

We had the most amazing long weekend celebrating a 50th birthday with 15 women at Telstar. This home was superb! It had everything you could ever want or need. Enough space that we were not on top of each other, but an excellent dining room table that we could all share meals together and play games. The house was extremely clean and beds were very comfortable. We are a very picky group, and could not think of one thing we were unhappy with, or would recommend any changes to improve. Telstar is within a few miles to a store and local restaurants or bars. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the items you would need. Railey Vacations customer service was superb. I had to call when I arrived because we could not find a light switch. They took the call very professional and maintenance came out shortly to help us. He was very kind and patient as we all looked for the switch. He was able to locate it in a few minutes and was not upset about having to come out to help. The view at this property is spectacular and the wall of windows in the back of the home allows you to see the lake and landscape all day. Sitting out on the deck was very comfortable with the impressive outdoor furniture they have here and making burgers on the charcoal grills were delicious. There were enough bathrooms in the house, that no one was ever waiting for a toilet or shower. We cannot wait to come back again and would highly recommend this property to anyone! Thank you Railey for the wonderful experience. Your mobile check in and out process was extremely convenient and easy to use. Telstar is an incredible place to stay.

Railey has always been reliably responsive to any requests we have made during our numerous stays over the past decade. All of the properties we have had the opportunity to stay at have been clean, well stocked and provided for under the proscribed provisions, and all of the properties have been accurately described.
Our latest visit, we requested to have firewood delivered, and sure enough, when we arrived, we had an artistically stacked pile of amazing dry wood to enjoy a few nights of warm fires right by the lake!

We stayed at The Legends house. The space was great for a group of four couples! The huge kitchen with island was the perfect hangout spot. The check in and out process was super seamless, easy and stress free. A couple complaints; the TVs are super small and you have to take trash to a community trash can - a bit inconvenient. I'm not sure we'd return to this specific house, but definitely would use Railey Vacations again!

This was our fourth rental through Railey Vacations. Every time it has been a great experience. They are very responsive to issues and problems at the facilities. Once the air conditioner wasn't working, we called Railey and they were there within 30 minutes. Fixed. We just returned from Lasting Memories. The trash cans were totally full. We called Railey and within 30 minutes a staff member was there taking away the overfilled trash. In fact we have another rental schedule for Feb. And we did use Railey.

We love visiting Deep Creek!! So much so that we have made it our annual girls weekend getaway for the past 5 or 6 years. We book direct - which is super easy and stay in a different home each year. All homes have exceeded expectations! Friendly staff and beautiful homes, and beautiful location. We tend to visit in April, which is perfect for us because honestly we just party and relax (yes you can do both) lol. Anyway, if you haven t visited this area, what are you waiting for?! You can find plenty to do in the winter and summer...or you can be like us and once you enter your rental you can stay in an party/relax the weekend away!

I wish I could post pictures. Do not rent from this company and do not rent overlook pass villa 4c. From totally beat up walls, falling down siding, moldy shower curtains and baseboards, broken bathroom doors that don t shut, food garbage left, missing screens, and more- very very poorly cared for property that none of this is apparent from their pictures. The company says they walk through the units- if that s true then their standards are VERY low. I was embarrassed to have brought guests here. The agent said she d have to talk to her boss and call me back in 5 days..
In response to their reply .. their partial refund they were willing to give me was $50.00 on an over $1,000 booking ... and said that if I wanted a nice place and was worried about the quality of the rental I should have called them and not booked on THEIR website . So in other words you can t go by any of the pictures they post because it s false advertisement . And they said it was ski rental so what did I expect ...? I expect the unit to look like the pictures and I expect their NOT to moldy shower curtains, falling off wallpaper and the above mentioned. Very very poor customer service . You should be able to go by the pictures that they post and $50.00 Refund was not enough.

The Grill on the main level deck hadnt been cleaned out from the previous uses. the dishes (Particularly pots and pans) were also dirty. several Light bulbs were also out. Still made the best of the time there. while i may not rent that particular property again i would give Railey vacations a second opportunity. as they seemed to be as responsive as possible given the measures taken during the pandemic.

The $3,000 security deposit is ridiculous. I don't understand how a cabin that goes for $200-$300 a night could require a $3,000 security deposit. Apparently you must have $3,000 laying around to rent one of these overpriced cabins. I'm glad the wealthy are able to plan nice trips to Deep Creek Lake; however, this company does not care to serve the middle class. In the future when I have $3,000 lying around I will be sure to never rent from this company or recommend it to friends.

Upon arrival the whole house had heavy musky smell. Carpet was in a poor condition to the point that seems had an inch gap which nails sticking out. One person stepped on it. Couches were stained and discolored, just very dirty. All bads had stains and hairs on them and some were missing blankets. Shower curtains were covered in mold. Two faucets broken, broken cabinet door, tv wasn t working. All dishes were dirty. We called and have been told that house keeping will come but no one came. Maintenance came the next day afternoon to fix faucets and one tv. Had to ask 3 times for fire wood for it to be delivered next day. Hot tub was dirty and smelled horribly. We stayed Thursday over Sunday. The worst house that we rented.( we rent 2 times a year in deep creek) Very poorly maintained property especially for the price that we payed for it

The hosts left an assortment of items (toilet paper, dish and laundry soap, etc.) to make our stay more enjoyable, the check-in and check-out process was easy, and the hosts were in communication before our trip to make sure we had all we needed. Based on the amount paid for Sunset Pointe - my expectation for this house was considerably greater than what we experienced. I have a lot of experience renting properties for my family and this property was well below standard. Right from the start there was a problem - the electronic lock did not work. Fortunately the kitchen door was unlocked and we were able to access the house. Then house was only superficially clean. There were cobwebs, dead insects, dust covered air registers, plastic plants and bathroom fans.
There was mold/mildew in several bathroom showers and one of the bedrooms had black mold on the ceiling - rendering completely unusable.
Finally, we were set to check out on Thursday but we decided to leave a day early and called to request assistance in getting the driveway cleared of the snow and ice. No one came or returned my call when I called the second time.

All in all, it was a very disappointing rental and I would discourage anyone renting this property in its current state.

We are just returning today from Carmel Cove Inn.It was just as expected, because we've stayed with you before. some small electrical problems. that were promptly serviced to our satisfaction.what I would like to address is the fact that we had one guest(out of 21) who was wheel chair bound. Because of the 8 inch step leading from room # 1 to the family area, his motorized chair was not able to proceed. Maintenance did not have a ramp. The gentleman they sent,assessed the problem and BUILT ONE! I think he s his last name was Rhine. Beautiful! Above and beyond the regular call of duty. Thank You Sir.

We stayed at Aces Chalet 2/6-2/9/20......all I can say is this is a wonderful house to stay in right off the ski lift. Plenty of room for everyone and every family had their own master bathroom. The kids enjoyed the hot tub! We have already booked it again for next year, same time! We highly recommend this place.

Will never rent a vacation home through here again...

Will never rent a vacation home through here again, or recommend any friends or family to rent through them. We had multiple issue with our rental. The biggest one being no lake access of dock slip even though it was advertised as such. When going to pick up the dock slip from high mountain sports they stated that the reality company didn t pay for it, and that it was already rented to someone else. Secondly the house was in very poor condition, puke stains on the floor, dead bugs everywhere including stuck on the walls. The pool table wasn t able to be used because it was in such poor condition and bowed in the middle that all of the balls rolled to the middle of the table, we did have a rainy day and tried to use it.
The most frustrating part is that it is so hard to get ahold of somebody to talk to. The customer service is absolutely terrible. It has been over 2 weeks and we are still waiting a call back, or email back. We have emailed and called them multiple times. So therefore I would never give them my business again. Terrible experience. Would not recommend.
