Railey Realty and Deep Creek Lodging Company Review

Dishonest company that doesnt care about their customers experience. When we arrived on Thursday, we noticed the phone and internet were not working. Called Railey's "tech support" who sent someone out to take a look. They said there is an outage in the area and it should come back on eventually. 24 hours passed and it still wasnt on. We called Comcast to check on the "outage" only to find out there was no outage, rather the account was inactive. All they had to do was call and tell Comcast to resume service. Called Railey and told them this, they said they would take care of it, and never did. With several other options in the area, will not rent from them again.

The home we stayed out was beautiful, everything you need to have an enjoyable vacation. Would highly recommend staying there! ! ! !

The only disappointment was when we arrived at 4:00pm on Sunday we were greeted with 4 bags of trash on the entry way(picture on the left). I called Railey on the phone and they said they would take care of it. Got up the next morning and it was still there(picture on the right), so I called again. They told me they would take care of it and after about several hours they finally removed it . Frustrating for two reasons, first because we stayed there as a single family so spending a lot of money and this shouldn't happen nor meets my expectations. Secondly the Railey office is five minutes away so should have been fixed more expeditiously, you think they would be embarrassed.

I stayed in Changes of Altitude, with all the amenities and luxuries we were looking for within our vacation cabin, we never had to leave. Railey vacations kept us updated with all policiy changes due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the house was thoroughly cleaned and in pristine condition, the staff was very professional, directions were accurate, check-in was easy, just a overall great experience.. Can't wait to go back..

Beautifully designed, built and furnished lodge-sized mountainside home with fantastic views of lake and surrounding woods full of fall colors.
Home had everything to offer except adequate lighting. That can be easily remedied. Recommend the rental for any kind of getaway.

This stay was absolutely perfect. The staff communicated with me when they needed more information from me and everything was very clear in terms of check out and check in information. There was no confusion (except finding the cabin because it was dark). Overall, a wonderful weekend away.

Group of friends stayed at Absolute Delight for New Years' weekend. The place was incredible and equipped with everything we needed. My only concern was our inability to use the hot tub due to an issue with the heater. Other than that, we had a terrific experience in this house!

Had reservations thru RR and stayed at Apache Green. Making our plans was easy and professional. My paperwork wasn't completed properly but it was all taken care of with no problems the day before leaving for our stay . It was a beautiful home....but there was small issue like dog feces in the yard upon our arrival....no propane for the grill....small rotting spots on the deck and issues with screen door. It would also help if there was a small fridge downstairs..a new vacuum and a mop to keep things nice and tidy.
BUT......there was plenty of room for all 8 of us and 2 fur babies. The scenery was gorgeous....Enjoyed the hot tub but didn't get a chance to try the sauna. Weather could have been a bit colder but we alllll had an amazing time and enjoyed ourselves just being together. We will return next year!!!

Rustic yet modern. Clean and roomy place that was more than adequate for 2 families with kids and a dog. We will stay again.

I just spent a great weekend with friends at a Railey Vacation home. The house was advertised on several sites but Railey's customer service and cost made the difference. This is my 3rd time renting from Railey. Thanks for the accurate and detailed descriptions of the homes.

We had a great experience and the home were very lovely.

This was me and my husband and our friends first time at railey vacation home and we stayed in always in season. It was beautiful, clean and very homey. There was beautiful scenery and all. I would greatly recommend this place to anyone.

We spent three nights at the Windysun West Cabin in McHenry, MD. Our group of 8 had an absolute blast on our stay. Check in before our stay and check out after was seamless. I was able to call Railey Vacations at any point, with any questions or concerns, and they responded to me in a timely and professional manner. Our cabin was absolutely beautiful and extremely clean. The large kitchen area and hot tub were perfect for our large group. We were minutes away from Wisp Ski Resort and Mountain State Brewery. The only negative about our stay was the water pressure in the home and the location of the main level bathroom being through a bedroom. All in all a vacation we will never forget!

We rent at Deep Creek every year. Our stay at Scenic Serenity was less than desirable. Don't think it should be included as a "Signature" property. Location was good, but it was lacking. The cabinets were sticky, so we were wiping them down. There were no pot holders ... I burned my hand on the hot oven. The refrigerator had condensation which was dripping on the produce and onto the floor. I called Railey about this issue mid-week and never received a call back.

The Windysun West rental was lovely. A few minor issue but the response to fix them was swift and immediate. I would recommend rentals to friends and family in the future!

The house we got was beautiful right on the waterfront. It was clean and spacious. The staff helped us right away! We didn't have any problems!!!

We rented R&R cabin for a long weekend this previous weekend. The house was very nice, well decorated, updated furnishings and decor... the beds were pretty uncomfortable, but overall the owner has a great home. The cleanliness was definitely lacking. There was a lot of dust on the floors and under furniture. A deck of cards and a beer pong cup was under the tv stand in the living room. We Lysoled everything and bleach cleaned the kitchen, doubting the "deep clean" by their service for COVID. 2 AC units were advertised, but we couldn't find anything upon check in and there were no vents for an hvac so we were a little puzzled. It was very cool last weekend so we didn't put much more effort into it. Come to find out, portable units were found in 2 bedroom closets but no instructions on how to use it and after a few failed attempts we put it back. A manual or guide to amenities would be a nice benefit to renters. Our trash was full upon check in. I did have to call customer service twice to have someone come out. After the first call, the representative didn't send anyone. We had a toilet stopped up and couldn't find any plungers after a search through the house. The same gentleman who came for the trash helped us. After searching his maintenance truck for a plunger, he came down from the bathroom and said oh there was a plunger under the sink. Again, a guide to let you know that or when we called customer service, even a suggestion of where to look would have been helpful. Not wildly impressed with Railey, but not near as bad experiences as other reviewers here. In renting beach homes at other locations for years, not being able to provide a review in the listing is misleading. Especially now reading the Google reviews, a lot of things could be eliminated for renter issues if folks could read this before renting their home on Raileys site. A marketing decision I'm sure, that's a little misleading. For example, there was a rooster at one of the homes next door and it was the LOUDEST rooster on earth! Definitely impaired our stay and had we known prior to, might have chosen a different home. We loved the area and had a good time, but likely wouldn't used Railey again and just had a subpar experience with them.

Just spent 3 nights at one of their properties. Smooth trip all around- easy entry, house was well equipped, smooth check out! Streamlined processes!

Hi, I am not sure what the previous reviewer was talking about, We had the most outstanding experience with Deep Creek Lodging Company, house was spotless, sheets and towels clean, kitchen and bathrooms immaculate. Jenifer (representative I dealt with) was very helpful and friendly and always available if we had questions. Great company, one of the few that still provide REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE

We stayed in a beautiful home with plenty of room for a large family. Adventures in Paradise was a fantastic getaway. We especially enjoyed sitting around the fire pit & the hot tub.

Railey was fairly easy to work with. Check-in was smooth. Had one minor issue with light bulbs being out - it was addressed promptly the next day. Reason for 3 stars is because after checking out I requested several times (via chat, phone & email) to be able to review the particular property we rented and I never heard back with a definitive answer. Why wouldn t they want an honest review of the property? Can t say for sure, but now I m wondering about the validity of the reviews I saw on their site. Do they only allow 5 stars reviews for their properties? As a vacation home renter, I rely heavily on reviews (and I d hope that Railey would facilitate honest reviews to satisfy those of us who read them). Disappointed.

Great customer service, always answered the phones even on weekends or after hours and if not returned calls in a timely manner. assisted with making reservations and answering any questions after it was already made. emailed all info including the link to the app for remote checkout.
The place was great, clean and had everything needed and more. all appliances , sleeping arrangements and even gad a complimentary bag of laundry and dish soap and toiletries.

We loved the townhouse we stayed in (Deep Creek Village #17) which had tons of room and gorgeous views of both the mountain and the frozen lake. Perfect location, clean and comfortable. The two pictures of the mountain were taken from our front door!

We have used Railey several times a year for the past 7 years for our Deep Creek Rentals. They have great selection of properties that meet our changing needs depending on the trip we take. Their website is very easy to filter to get the right property. They are always responsive to any needs we have at the rental properties. They prices are better than the competition! We will continue to use them to rent when we are there and will use them purchase a property based on rental experiences. Our last time there I booked the property incorrectly and the cleaning crew showed up wondering why were still there. We thought we had it another day. When Railey called they were gracious and apologizing for the inconvenience even thought it was my fault when I looked at the booking. They had other renters coming in that day to the unit and needed it turned over yet they were accommodating and understanding. We were already loyal to Railey and this sealed the deal for us to only use them in DCL!

Quick weekend escape to A Step Away couldn t have been more ideal! House was clean and lovely, neighbors were quiet, and wild life was everywhere.
Great company to work with! Can t wait for my next escape to the lake.

The Place was as advertised and the team was responsive when I hade questions.

Pinnacle view rental was old and dirty. It is not waterfront or close to lake access. We could not get into are rental do to the code was incorrect, called three places and 35 minutes later got some one, who was more upset that we got into the place through an ajar basement door: my grandson is 4 and had to go to the bathroom, we were in dire need of a bathroom.
Bathroom were so so. Lots of soap scum, kitchen out dated, furniture seen better at goodwill, every piece brokeEn, carpet stains everywhere, outside needs painted badly and ls dirty needs a good pressure wash. They have a fire pit and fire place but no firewood, the agent told me firewood season would start the next day and we would get a delivery of wood, never happened. I have rent hotels and homes all over the United States and this is the worst rental for the money we have ever stayed,

This house is called Boulder Heights. The house was dirty. We actually had to clean the bathrooms and sanitize everything. While there we called the office to have the cleaning people come to clear spider webs and vacuum carpets. Please be careful with Railey homes. This is the second house that has been filthy in the past two years.

Railey was great at communicating updates all through COVID. And they have a large inventory of houses to choose from. Though the house we choose had some deffered maintance and cleanliness issues, the company itself was wonderful and easy to work with.

Our family had a wonderful experience with Railey Vacation Rentals. The staff was warm and helpful. Renting couldn't be easier and the remote check was so convenient. Thank you Railey!

The house was much better than the pictures on the website and had been recently updated. We had a large group, and the bedrooms were quiet and comfortable. The double kitchen was so convenient, as were the multiple gathering areas and all the bathrooms! We had no problems with the arrangements prior to our trip. The staff was very polite, friendly, and easy to work with. We chose the perfect house for my Mom s 85th birthday celebration!

We had a fabulous week at our Deep Creek Village #36 rental. This was our first time to Deep Creek and using Railey. There was great communication leading up to the stay and loved having an app with all important information. The rental itself was perfect for our small family and had plenty of space for us to spread out. Check-in and check-out was seamless. The decor is lake themed and the rental included all of the essentials. We really felt welcomed with the welcome bag by the Railey. It was a nice touch with sparkling lights on the backdrop of the trees while relaxing in the hot tub. In addition, we enjoyed playing the board and wii games which was entertaining. The rental was central to everything in Deep Creek and we enjoyed fishing at the community dock. The other renters and owners in the community were friendly. We definitely would stay here again.

I really liked the house we rented through AirB&B / Railey Vacations, but I was frustrated with specific information about the house. I asked if there were fans in the bedrooms and they said no, but "I could buy them when I got there". So I brought fans from home only to get there and find them available in the closets. It took two phone calls and an email to find out what type of coffee maker was in the unit and what type of filters I needed to bring. I was told to "bring both" by the first person, really? The check in and check out process did not work as described in the lengthly communications. Communications said to download and app for easiest process. The app did not work for checking in or checking out. Communications also said I could send "email at mtlake@deepcreek.com." When I did this I got the reply "This email address is not monitored, but we d love to help you find what you re looking for!" Of course they don't want you to call because they don't have enough representatives to man the phone when customers are trying to check in / check out.

Our stay at the Mountain View Lodge was epic! The house was the perfect setting for our large family getaway. The view of the lake and surrounding area was phenomenal! The only negative was that the dryer was broken. But things like this happen. Railey provided us with clean towels and sheets upon request due to the inconvenience. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful home! We even made use of the outdoor pizza oven to make a few pizzas! We will be selecting this rental again in the future, for sure! Thank you so much for an amazing vacation!

Took the kids to the property Crowd Pleaser and it definitely lived up to its name. Called Railey with a question about the hot tub and they offered to send someone over, despite it being late on Sunday. We actually ended up figuring it out and didn't need them, but their offer of quick assistance was very much appreciated. Loved the property - it was clean and as pictured on the website. Thanks for a great vacation!

We had a amazing time at fairway by the slopes. When we had an issue with the hot tub and water it was resolved within an hr. The house was cleaned and we never wanted for anything with this rental. We had an amazing view and would love to use this house next year

I stayed at Simply Cozy and it was very nice! I would suggest that the owners fix a few things, like the fact that it was freezing on the bottom level, it smelled of mildew and a few odds and ends but overall it was a really nice trip. I would recommend to others.

Great private dock and nice quiet cove at Telstar.gon. Love coming go DCL!

House presentation was amazingly beautiful and very clean. The hot tub, built in speakers, the variety of games and the view of house and from the house was a dream! If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle I would recommend renting from Railey, no hassle from them at all with great house choices. Would do it again in a heart beat!
