Had the best stay, room services and restaurants experience for a week off !!! Nothing to complain about
Wow !It's hot and spicy non veg buffet, am loving it
Completely revamped lobby and interiors. Centrally located in the heart of the city with relatively easy access to the airport . Service is good.
Excellent ambiance and great food at The Bazaar Diner.
Very good hotel to stay in Chennai - Recommended Stay
Very good hotel. There desi restaurant is having unique menu.
Very polite and aware working staff. Great to see very skilled people other there
Central location near T-Nagar's famous textile and jewelry shops. Well trained staff, great food.
Highly Professional touch .
Pleasant and safe stay
Nice comfortable hotel, centrally located. Buffet breakfast is lavish with Continental South and North indian cuisine. Meeting halls were very good with a good sound system and also lunches provided were tasty.
The place is beautiful, the food there's great , the staff are at your service at any point of given time.
Suitable for tourists who interested in shopping for Indian goods. Decent and clean. You can only get Indian menu in their restaurant. Food is very nice. This hotel is situated in the midst of Shopping centre. Most of the shopping mall are walking distance.
Excellent Service, ambience and food. Gym and swimming pool are nice.
The swimming pool is a sight to see, and also use!
Interiors are really aesthetic and neat. Being indoors, it gives us the luxury of privacy, away from the crowded cityscape.
Great place. Excellent service. Bazaar Dining is great too. Neat room
great place good staff nice atmosphere best place to conduct meetings and conferences
Ambience should improve. Selection of food is limited.
Very nice ambiance good food . arengment also v good
Had a great buffet at GRT grand hotel for dinner with a large group. May be bit expensive if you don t go by group.
Staff very polite and friendly. Comfortable rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Location is great for shopping. Airport transfer takes only 20 minutes. Highly recommended.
Okay. The biryani was not lip smacking. Would be good if they increase the midnight menu.
This is my second time I stayed at this hotel on a long stay. Last time when I stayed in 2015, there were renovations going on and it was expected to have corrective actions done on several areas.
But, to my utter disappointment many things remained the same as they were. I had given a very exhaustive review in 2015 enlisting all the shortcomings, thus in fact doing a favour to the owners so that they can find a ready list of areas they can improve. For example:
1. The lighting system in the room - remained the same. The messed up system remains still the messed up system. Can we have a reading lamp hitting our eyes directly all the way from the ceiling? The reading lamps are supposed to be on a side table by the side of the bed completely adjustable as per the need by the guests. Here the reading lamps are far away fixed hard on the ceiling, hitting directly on the eyes. Are they really reading lights or torture lights?
2. Whose brainchild to design a light control block that has several push buttons to it and serving not any thing defined? It s totally flawed and very difficult to operate, especially the elderly people. Only a stupid mind could have designed such a stupider control panel. The usual switches conveniently located would have done the trick, meeting the needs of guests far more efficient.
3. Washroom design is pathetic. When one showers, water passes through the floor from the shower area to the washbasin area, making the whole washroom wet and messy!
4. The hand held faucet is a good thing to have by the side of the closet, no doubt, but the operating control lever is so hard that when one presses, water juts out and makes a mess. Again, a flawed choice of the faucet.
5. Rooms are supposed to be cozy and especially in a star hotel. Due to poor lighting, the ambience of the room is absolutely miserable. It doesn t give the desired coziness,
6. Last time, the breakfast menu spread was pretty vast and well balanced, equally having varieties for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. That balance has disappeared. And what a bizarre choice of colour schemes and materials when it comes to crockeries, plates and other items! All in multicolors, jarring the tranquil mood that is supposed to be associated with a peaceful beginning of the day with a nice breakfast! Could be interesting to kids but you don t get to have so many kid-guests. The worst thing is the table mats made of denims with cutleries inserted in the back pocket, certainly not a pleasant presentation! Gives a repulsive feeling that you are extracting the cutleries from someone s bum!
7. The tables are of weird coloured and horrible design. They are shaky and not sturdy to make one comfortable while eating as the tables keep tilting in all ways and in all directions. I thought only one or two are like that and after my several breakfasts at several tables, I figured out that every table is like that. What it tells clearly is that either the tables are having incongruent legs or the flooring is poor.
8. Some of the new recruits (?) or under-trained staff in the dining area, though seeming to be obeying to the request of the guests, do exchange mischievous glances and smiles.
9. Last but not the least, I had to take a flight mid-night and thus foregoing my day long stay on the last day till next day afternoon and also the breakfast the next day morning which I both rightfully owned and for which I had paid for. To compensate in someway, I made a request to accommodate me and my very elderly father of 87 years of age to let us have our dinner for free in lieu of the next day morning breakfast. I was appalled to receive an answer that it is not possible as per the rules of the hotel! What made me laugh was that it is auditable! A buffet spread consumption is auditable? Come on, give me a break guys!
Could have given negative star, but Google doesn t provide for so, the least I could do was a single star!
Next time, certainly, I won t stay here. Rather, I would like to pay more and prefer to stay certainly in a better hotel!
Very warm staff.
Due to construction, traffic can pose the problem
Beautiful place with nice people ro help you.. Especially the front office staff w is so nice and so helpful... Sheenu the front office staff was so helpful and always there to help us in the whole trip.
Visited GRT grand with my husband, brother and my 2 month old kid today. Could not find a table at J.Hind, so we had to dine at Bazaar. The food and ambience was not too bad. Cant complain. However I am writing this review to bring out a serious issue with this place.
My kid started crying and had to be fed immediately. So i requested GRT for a place to feed my son. Not only was i told that there was no place to feed my kid anywhere in this huge hotel, but to my absolute horror i was asked to feed my kid in the WOMEN'S WASHROOM. This was absolutely ridiculous and shocking to hear. My family and I tried to reason with the person saying that a washroom was no place to feed a baby, but the person kept on insisting that the place had a sofa inside the washroom, which deemed it appropriate to feed a baby there!!! Unfortunately this was completely out of order by GRT!!
I really hope that GRT ensures that mothers have a private space in case they need to feed their kids. Its a shame that they have to ask their guests to use their washrooms to do so. Pathetic.
Very good customer service and facilities. Food is not as nice though.
Good.
Very courteous and efficient staff.
Scope for "MAKING UP ROOM" ( Room Nos 722 & 522 ) exists.
Not done till pointed out.
This I feel is an exception bcz during my last stay in GRT, things were excellent. Possibly due to long holidays and staff shortage.
I will opt to stay in GRT in future also.
