Radisson Blu Farnham Estate Hotel Review

Heated outdoor pool. Feels like you are in Spain even in winter. Heaven!

Excellent hotel. Great spa. And staff throughout all departments were fantastic.
Food was excellent.

Look out for the deals.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time and had a wonderful midweek break. The food was delicious, the rooms are a generous size with beautiful views out over the countryside, and the spa facilities are superb. There's enough to do here that you can easily bring a few books and relax at the property for a long weekend. Everything here is so convenient we never really felt the need to leave, making it perfect for when the weather is uncooperative during a mid-winter break. It's also easy to get to Cavan by bus and a 10 minute cab ride from there. From Dublin the 109 express bus is a great alternative to having to drive and takes roughly the same amount of travel time. The only two things that would have made the trip better are the bed and the spa slippers. Our bed was two twin beds joined together to make a king bed, but there was a slight gap between the two which made it slightly uncomfortable for two people sharing. Additionally, the spa only provides one size of slippers for everyone. These are on the smaller side and did not fit my boyfriend's feet. We asked the front desk and the spa if they would have any other options, but that was all they had, so my boyfriend had to wear his socks around the pool and spa area. Next time we'll know to bring him sandals, we just weren't expecting them to only have slippers in small sizes. I don't think these would fit a guy with feet larger than a UK 10, so if you're a guy with larger feet, bring your own flip-flops or sandals! All in all, an amazing place and one we'll be delighted to go back to.

Service is casual at best as we had a few incidents of incorrect bills and charges, not the attention to detail that you expect from a 4 star hotel, staff need more training in customer service

A really nice hotel, I particularly love the indoor/outdoor swimming pool and spa and they're are beautifully views of the estate all around the building. Nice luxurious and relaxed environment.

Decent hotel set in nice settings with good walks and Reasonably pleasant staff. Food very good but room could benefit from a do over. Carpets and furniture very worn and tired. Bit over rated for what it is.

Spent another relaxing day at Farnham Estate. Received a deep tissue massage from therapist, Niamh And enjoyed a very satisfying lunch. Looking forward to my next visit! Great Spa.

Staff, facilities, grounds ,spa and pools absa Fab.......just the food and wine

Good food nice rooms fresh air nice walks and a spa all good but 15 for fish and chips and 17 for burger and chip just sums up hotels in the south. Only drawback to a nice stay.

Stunning Hotel , well impressed , great size room and nicely layed out, the grounds are stunning and will be back. The food was good and well priced and the breakfast was plentiful and good. Only negative is were you have to park.

Cracking night for Amy and James Wedding in Farnham Estate! Excellent venue and the staff equally as good. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of getting married!

The food at lunch was poor. My companion got a sandwich that wasn't nice. The was also a fly near the food

stayed recently for a wedding, our reservation got messed up, and it took over an hour to sort rooms, bad experience. got an apology and a few chocolates to the room, our evening was ruined, the staff were un helpful, unprofessional, got the impression that they were not fully trained properly..beautiful grounds but the staff and management lets it down..even the porter had to make a smart comment to me the following morning.staff give the impression that they didn't care...couldn't wait to get out of the place...would not recommend or would be returning..

Staff were friendly. The carvery food was tasty and reasonably priced but the plates/ bowls/ cups were poorly washed. I have to say that's something I find very off putting.
July 18.
Back here today and I must say the issues above appear th have been taken care of.
Exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff and the carvery lunch was superb.
Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful hotel and Spa with the friendliest staff I've ever come across. Nothing is too much bother, and there is always service with a smile. Food is outstanding, rooms are incredible and my bed is like heaven. Wish I'd booked for 2 nights or a week.

The hotel is very nice and modern with excellent staff. Rooms are modern and comfortable with all the modern amenities. The pool and spa are located in the hotel but changing facilities and the pool itself are located over two floors which is a bit strange. We were there for a Christmas function, the food of a very high standard with generous portionsand was served promptly. A shuttle bus is provided to get to and from the car park which is very handy.

Fantastic place to stay. staff are friendly and helpful.I would definitely recommend it and would definitely return.

Stayed there for a weekend recently and from beginning to end, it was a very enjoyable experience. While the grounds and facilities are excellent, they staff are what really makes it a special place. I've stayed in many hotels over the years, but there is a genuine sense of welcoming and hospitality amongst everyone working here. Credit to the management for that. The room was nice, the spa is excellent, the restaurant food was good and the cellar bar is a lovely hide away to finish off an evening. I'll definitely return.

This place is amazing. Stayed 2 nights here and my wife and I loved every minute.
Rooms where big and beds where comfortable very clean also.
This place has huge grounds we went for a walk around it took over 2 hours so peaceful and clam.
The spa facilities where amazing and the pool was so relaxing and chilled out.
The food in the restaurant was 1st class and we got surprised with a birthday treat after our meal which was something we have never experienced in any hotel they really put the thought into it for us and we where well pleased they did. breakfast was good and the downstairs bar and bar food was everything you could ask for.
The staff where very friendly and polite.
This place has it all if you want to go somewhere and have a chilled out relaxing break without the kids. Also they are adding more to the restaurant so we will definitely be back and also I didn't get around the golf course

Fantastic and relaxing stay this week. Would highly recommend the Cedar Rooms for dinner! One suggestion- a facecloth provided in the rooms would be a helpful for the ladies.

The nicest hotel i have stayed in to date. From the lovely big rooms to the food and the pool and spa. There is a pool inside and outside. I know people say it very expensive but in the case i can defenitlay say " you get what you pay for" There is also a lovely nature walk around the grounds of the hotel. I would highly recommend.

Couldnt recommend the resort and everyone enough.. The golf course was very challenging enjoyable for all golfers. The spa is huge, so spacious and the infinity pool si a lovely experience. We had a birthday and the staff left a lovely message in the room with complimentary shortbread after dinner. The dinner the steaks were beautiful and again the staff could not have been more attentive.. Cant wait to go back, great place

Had a fabulous weekend here for my daughter's wedding. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Jonathon and his team made sure that everything on the day went smoothly so we were free to enjoy such a special family occasion. Aside from the wedding the rest of the staff from check in to check out were exceptional. A great weekend retreat and we will definitely be back. Karen

The Farnham Estate Hotel and Golf complex.
We love this place. Have stayed here even though live in Cavan doesn't feel like one is near home.
Been treated to Wonderful Spa days.
Had Afternoon Tea thanks to a Christmas Voucher given to my husband and l as a present. It was lovely. When my husband booked the time he mentioned l am a vegeterian and also don't use milk or butter and definitly not goats cheese. I really enjoyed my afternoon tea as did my husband with his normal one. The selection of teas were sooooo tasty.
As for Sunday lunch. What can l say. Every member of my family love this. We go for any excuse as in Daughter home from Dublin or London ir Birthdays etc. Think one can get the picture. Those of us who are vegeterians in the family well we never complain as we never go home hungry. The selection is fabulous and defferent everytime.
Have gone for our tea/dinner in the upstairs bar. Other family members do the fish & chips or burger but have been known on occassion to join us veggies with the falafiel burger which is lovely.
Also have sat on sofas in foyer alcoves and had coffee and scones with friends.
Love this place. Even recommend it to visitors from abroad to us to stay a night here especially as Spa facilities/ relaxation is great.
As for the GOLF...well my husband and company have been known to play a few rounds here. Even as recently as late October.

Wonderful 5 days at Farnham. Plenty of walking done, some relaxing treatments in the Spa and just an all round great experience staying in the self catering houses in the Walled Garden. Will be back soon.

Pretty. Beautiful garden. Great rooms. A good Spa. Unfortunately, on the weekends it can be obscenely expensive.

Myself & friend went for a spa day. We enjoyed it immensely. The outdoor pool was great. Light lunch afterwards was really tasty. Will definitely be back.

Great location and great facilities! The spa is excellent and variety of options for you to totally chill and take time out by yourself or with your special other! Food also excellent & three plus places to eat without leaving the resort! Everyone comfortable wearing the robes and slippers but the decor needs updating especially the carpet cleaning and replacement!

My stay at Farnham was really lovely but slightly marred by small avoidable errors that were irritating for what could have been an outstanding stay.... Special request for room was not followed through on and was told at check in that I would have to pay extra however on production of email confirming price includind request it was grudgingly provided. After quite a long walk to room key card would not work ( TWICE). I would have expected a member of staff to accompany me to my room at least the 2nd time to ensure I could gain access... Prior booking in restaurant was not recorded but they had plenty of availability so not a problem.... This is a beautiful hotel with amazing food, bars, facilities, spa, afternoon tea, grounds and golf but they let themselves down with unhelpful staff at reception and minor errors that keep it from getting a 5 star review.... Receptionists need 5* training some empathy and an intensive course in customer service and attitude... I must add that staff in all other areas were fantastic, helpful, engaging, friendly, professional and a credit to the hotel. If you book with any special requests re: your room or bookings my tip would be to have it all in writing before you arrive.

Nice hotel, very poor signage so it's a little confusing to find where things are initially. I'd go back for the spa but the room and breakfast was pretty standard.

Hotel was fab but Spa let it down. Was not relaxing due to noise levels and tidiness levels. Multiple thermal suite features were not working and were not signposted as such. Not likely to return for spa break.

Stayed here for 2 nights and had a decent time considering lockdown had was easing and the hospitality sector was getting back on its feet.

The staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was tasty, albeit a small selection.. what we had was tasty. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean.

However. The room was far too warm and changing the settings to cool and opening the window made little to no change. The fridge did not work, despite the polite staff member telling us otherwise - not ideal when you need a cold drink in your overheated room! We didn t have a bin in the room - like, at all.

Also dined in Maxwells Grill, ordering from the a la carte menu. The dishes were beautifully presented and again, staff were superb.. however the food itself was bland at best.

Overall we had an okay time at the Farnham, and considering the deal we got via booking.com. However there is a lot to be improved on.

Hotel is lovely. Junior suite good sized, good ammenities:coffee, tea etc, TV x2, great views, window walls that open. Nice decor. Bathroom lovely with soaking tub and separate shower. Staff personable and helpful.

Just home from a 2 night stay at the Farnham Estate and my daughter and I had a marvelous time. The Thermal suite is amazing and one of the best laid out for guests to enjoy. The little cafe within the spa allowed us to stay longer at the spa rather than dressing to leave to get your lunch. I also must say the 2 girls working there could not do enough, considering our food allergies. They worked around it and made a beautiful lunch. Very happy. XO

Hotel is excellent course was very very wet . Some really nice holes live to play it again in better conditions.

Faultless; hotel was packed for Easter but this did not detract from our experience. Wonderful food, comfortable room and great spa/pool etc.; looking forward to our next visit!

My husband and I spent two nights here for our 25th wedding anniversary a gift from our children. We had a brilliant time staff are very friendly and helpful. We both had treaments and made good use of the spa area were every one were lovely..food was lovely too .would diffinly go back.
