Fabulous spa experience and lovely food in restaurant and bar

Possibly the worst golf course I ve ever played. Swamp. It s like someone randomly left flag sticks around a farm. One hole in particular, think it was the 2nd, but can t be sure as most holes look the same, smelled of raw sewage.
Layout is boggling, almost a 5 minute walk between some holes. Transition from front to back nine can only be described as an expedition, I walked the course and my playing partners used a buggy, one of which took pity on me during the ascent to the 10th hole and drove back to pick me up. Once I got my breath back and teed up on the 10th we played what can only be described as the strangest hole of golf I ve seen in a very long time, not helped by the bang of a maggot ridden decomposing crow on the fairway. Horrible place. Hotel doesn t seem too bad, they need to scrap the golf fiasco they have going on there though.

Rooms and Spa tired/dated Room poorly stocked with tea/coffee, old tv, surfaces not very clean. Needs updating/modernization.
Vegetarian food in Resteraunt excellent.

My sister and her husband recently spent a few days in Farnham Estate Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. As it was their anniversary I wanted them to have a drink on me. Telephoned your hotel and spoke to Lauren who was a gem, Lauren used her initiative and went beyond her call of duty to assist me. I was so impressed by her manner. Hold on to this girl, hard to find.

Just super: the bedrooms are amazing and the beds are very comfy. There's both a shower and a bathtub. I love the grounds with their forest walk and golf course. The spa facilities are also eccellent. Breakfast is rich, with lots of choice and good ingredients. Dinner at the restaurant is overpriced so I ate in the cellar bar. I'd like to see more vegetarian options and also more widely available (some are only showing in the room service menu). Despite this, the resort is a top place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

My daughter had her wedding here at the end of September, when we arrived we were met outside by the general manager, Andrew who said once we stepped through the doors, they would take care of everything and they absolutely did. We had a wonderful first class experience, the staff are outstanding in every way, nothing is too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome. The rooms are lovely, the spa area is fabulous, the grounds are very well kept with lovely walks down to the lake. The food is delicious, both in the main hotel and in the spa restaurant and the cellar bar is a great finish. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely go back when I need to feel pampered as this hotel certainly knows how to look after its customers. Thank you for making our weekend there feel so special, very much appreciated.

The hotel room was clean. Our daughter had a reaction to whatever detergent they use on the sheets, and the view wasn't great.

The location is fantastic, with lots of wooded trails to walk. The house is greatly worked into the modern hotel. The spa has great facilities, including an indoor to outdoor pool, steam rooms and aromatherapy rooms, with plenty of sun beds to relax on. The food was also top class.

Will be back, many times. Can t recommend it enough.

Aw man where do I start, what a hotel, amazing mix of modern and shiny coupled with the traditional feel of having the old building there as well, 1St class food service and accommodation cannot recommend enough

1st class resort would recommend it to anyone, it's really a couples place spa dinner relaxation what more could you ask for!! Dinner was gorgeous!! Great spot!!

Rooms are small and in need of an update. The furniture has chips out of it and is broken. We only were given one very small pillow each and the room was not very clean. The spa is in need of an upgrade a lot of the facilities did not work and the out door pool was not opened. The resteraunt food was substandard and very over priced. When our meal arrived the waitress had the orders wrong. The meat was cooked incorrectly and not as described on the menu. Overall I was very disappointed and would not return.

Good spot for a getaway. Food was excellent. And service was good. I recommend.

Lovely Hotel and Spa. Nice walks around the grounds. Make sure you bring your boots.

Overnight stay with 20 golfers last week.Every thing about hotel from welcome to departure was a very pleasant experience.Food was delicious,staff so friendly and helpful.
Fantastic value for money

This place is great, was relocated here from another hotel that had to shut over a health scare, I would highly recommend staying here, staff are very friendly and the leisure centre is lovely with indoor/outdoor pool

Here twice, once for leisure and another New Year's visit for a wedding. Great venue and the hotel and spa area is very relaxing. Ventured out into Cavan as food can be dear on-site, but that was expected. Will definitely be back, if not for the spa/pool alone.

Went there with girls from work and it was fantastic. My first experience of a spa and it truely was lovely. The staff were friendly and more than happy to answer any of my questions. The girl who did my massage was really nice and catered to what I wanted. We spent the day there and we got food and drinks and they were lovely. We were free to roam the grounds and use the facilities. The swimming pool was lovely.

Booked the wife and her pal in for a treatment at the Spa. Amazing setting, lovely decor, amazing food and staff that are second to none. Definitely worth a second visit

Just a lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere umliate bliss ... very quite as well room lovely looking over the herb garden the botincial restaurant food fab the spa treatments great loved the outdoor pool a bit chilly but after 5min your lovely and warm . Would stay here again

Fantastic hotel, spa and golf course. Let down on this occasion by a series of mistaken orders in the Wine Cellar Bar. Asked for diet coke, got coke, asked for the special, Salmon and Mash Potato....The mash never came despite asking (informed later they ran out). Offered a free desert to compensate so ordered chocolate brownie....got ice cream with spinkles (got the brownie eventually). Pleasant bunch but clearly a bad day at the office!

Spent two nights here. Can't fault the staff very friendly and can't do enough for you. You are made very wekcome. Excellent breakfast, good variety, however, bar food menu very limited. Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, pool and spa best I've been at. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend.

Have to say I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. The rooms were lovely, food great & staff very helpful. My only niggles were the time of check in (4pm which is very late if only staying for one night) and the spa- it has aged and a few things don't work. It could really do with a spruce up.

Enjoyable stay. Decor needs an update, but overall a decent few nights. Food was fine. The stand out aspect was definitely the staff who were amazing!

we celebrated our special day there and it couldn't have been nice. We got a lovely room, loved the SPA and food and they even had live music at night...Second time at Farnham and will certainly be back

Food, spa facilities, hotel friendliness just amazing but will never play the golf course - scenery amazing but it is farmland and not suitable for golf.

Would not recommend. Over priced and food menue ordinary. They charged a drinks bill to my room and didn't go out of their way to apologise after they completed the refund. Customer Service was atrocious. Only saving grace was the spa.

Can't wait for my daughter wedding and spending more time there. Enjoy every moment.

Really nice place, the spa is so nice and the outdoor swimming pool was class. The food was nice except the the fillet steak it was so dry and ask it for medium rare. Id have giving it 5 stars only for the steak

Fabulous place to stay, Excellent staff and great facilities including great walking routes.

Disappointing visit. We stayed for two nights and there were a number of small issues adding up that made it disappointing.
When we arrived the receptionist could not understand that we had two single rooms booked and kept trying to place us in a king room together. Another staff member had to step in and check us in.
We went for dinner in the Grill bar that evening and it was terrible. We ate out the second night.
The burgers needed to be cut with a fork and knife as it was very tough. We asked for a side of onion rings which were swimming in oil.There was an inch of oil at the end of the bowl & as you lifted an onion ring it kept dripping. I would not recommend the restaurant.
When we went for breakfast (Day 1) I had to go through a few plates to try find a clean plate. (Day 2) My friend went to pick up the cup on the table freshly set out and it was dirty. On both days no one was at the front to take our room numbers and good luck getting a cup of tea or coffee! Both days we had to chase staff to try get tea/coffee. They only pay attention to cleaning & setting the tables and not the guests.
We rang down to reception on one evening to ask what time the Lobby Bar stops serving food (the book in the room says late evening) but we were told the lobby bar does not serve food.
The rooms are clean & spacious.The Thermal Suite and pool are fabulous and well worth the visit, but if you are going for the food or excellent attention to details, I would not recommend it.

Luxurious estate in Cavan with amazing Spa facilities. Spend the day relaxing and destressing in the 4 saunas as well as the indoor and outdoor pools.

Nice place but it was very wet on the day we were there. Probably should have been closed

I stayed her for one night and it was amazing. From the drive into the hotel overlooking the amazing grounds to the relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel. Our room was amazing very modern and spacious and so quite at night time. I went to the spa and could not recommend more. I had Yvonne for a back massage and she really was brilliant. There is so much to do at the spa between using the pools indoor and outdoor, to using the relaxation room and the thermal suit facilities. You could spend the whole day down there. I had dinner in the wine goose cellar which was amazing and topped off the stay. I would defiantly recommend to anyone and I will defiantly be back soon.

Nice, quiet and modern hotels with lovely grounds. There are many trails to spend your day walking and in the evening relax in the out door infinity pool.

Great service from the outset... Well worth a visit.
