Carton House Hotel Review

It was a fantastic hotel I stayed the Saturday night and it was lovely. It was my second time to stay and everything was perfect

Magnificent hotel, placed on a golf course, surrounded by green grass and trees. Beautiful restaurant with delishes dishes and lovely service

Stay away. Renovations for a few months. Started during our stay for several nights, but we were not told. Very poor planning by management as the other restaurants struggled to cope just after New Year. Carriage House staff working with no managers and were disorganized and chaotic. (but trying their best - let down by senior staff obviously). Took us almost ten minutes for them to seat us. Reputation in hospitality industry is critical these days. Hope things improve with Fairmont management.

I had afternoon tea here and it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the start. The tea and food was delicious, particularly the salmon and egg sandwiches. I also enjoyed the chocolate dessert. The surroundings were nice, with plenty of walks available. I will be back.

It is a Beautiful Hotel the walk's and the grounds are astonishing. Staff are amazing

Stayed here recently for 1 night. Spa is nice & pool & Jacuzzi is lovely. Steam room wasn't working but Sauna was nice & hot! Restaurant is definitely fine dining & very expensive, food was great but just needed a little bit more on the plate! :) Staff are really nice & very helpful. Id definitely recommend it for a night away

Hosted a conference and awards dinner here and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Tara, Eithne, Lauren, Ciara, Vlad, Katie and all their teams looked after us very well. Food was amazing as well.

Spa due a much needed upgrade but its functional and clean. Food expensive. Fab grounds and buildings

We went for our Christmas party unfortunately no Christmas spirit in the room no decorations up very disappointed it could have been any day in the year !!

Nice surrounds but the quantities of food in the dinner was very poor. I went home hungry which should not be the case after dinner!

Carton House is a beautiful spot. At the moment we just walk our dog there during lock down. There are so many scenic walks. Fantastic to have such a fab spot so close. Can't wait for Hotel to open.

Beautiful spot set in stunning surroundings. I was there for lunch recently and the food was delicious!

The best hotel in the country in my opinion. My wife and I were married here in July 2018 and will always be a very special place for us to come back to.
We were given the presidential suite and it was like staying in Buckingham Palace. This is located in the old house along with a number of large old style rooms which are all amazing.
The rooms in the new location are very spacious, modern and clean.
The staff are nothing short of excellent and always friendly and approachable. The hotel is spotless and i understand it is about to be refurbished soon.
Both golf courses are in top condition and the area around the courses make for a great walk.
The food in the linden tree is fantastic for both dinner and breakfast.
I could keep going on and on about how amazing this place is but ill just say you wont be disappointed with the standard from all aspects of this hotel.

Went for the golf, looked after us very well, nice shower after and a drink at the bar.

Spa treatment great . Lunch in the hotel very slow we waited an hour for a light lunch. Pity.

The rooms where beautiful, but when we visited most of the old house was locked when we went looking around, it was quiet cold too. Our room was not ready until about 5.30 and we where only staying the night. The food in the restaurant was beautiful but no craic or atmosphere in the bar. We had a nice stay but not really sure what all the fuss about it is.

A lovely venue, but recent foyer menu changes are a retrograde step and represent poor value for money.

Cannot in truth fault any part of the recent experience staying here. Accomodation food and staff along with facilities all top notch.

Comfortable rooms, beautiful place with nice golf courses and garden. Items such as combs, toothbrushes and bedroom slippers are not readily available though. Service staff are excellent and friendly.

Great Hotel. Comfortable rooms. Very good room service. Pool and sauna included. Golf corse all around. River full of fish inside. Fishing has to be with guide by hotel rules.

Attended a wedding here,Nice hotel,food was ok but hotel is over rated and over priced!! 4.50 for a coffee was steep!majority of staff need to find a personality to the extent some of them were ignorant,

Yes....a 4-star luxury hotel resort. Pristine, spacious marble tiled lobby. Plush carpeted, brass lamp lit corridors. Tasteful and richly decorated rooms with the highest comfort standards. Top notch bathrooms with separate shower cubicle and extra large bath tub. Very nice.

HOWEVER, on a serious note, the corridors to the bedrooms are extremely long and most significantly are CURVED. While there is adequate emergency fire evacuation signage, there is not one "Lobby this way" sign on display throughout Floors 1 and 2 and it's really easy to get lost. There are numerous unmarked brown double doors leading to alarmed emergency exits, staff only areas and dead ends. Curved corridors mean you don't know if you've been there before! Consequently, on an attempt to get to the lobby at 1am, after almost 15 mins of walking in circles I rang the hotel via its website. I asked the front desk to send out a search and rescue team to pick me up at a specific landmark and break me out. A barman was dispatched and I lived to tell the tale! SERIOUSLY, @MANAGEMENT..... this is a Heath and Safety issue.

Fabulous massage in the Spa here. Staff are lovely. Very professional and helpful

I just went for a stroll around this fabulous park. It is really good for the exercise. It may be public to visitors but I think some parts of this place are private properties unless you're a member.

An impressive hotel. Huge territory, very nice SPA, delicious breakfast, an interesting old house to look around, basically like a museum... I liked most of all staff room :)

Serious views, lovely grounds. They seemed to struggle dealing with a medium size wedding reception.

Wonderful experience from moment I checked in until checkout! Fantastic staff, so helpful and welcoming. Dinner was the Delicious food, see pics below
