Cavan Crystal Hotel - Dalata Hotel Group Review

It can be hit or miss. Not consistent. Not great atmosphere.
Food just ok. Again not consistent standard

Lovely people. Great rooms. Perfect for a wedding reception. Loved the pool facilities.

It was a very good experience and I would recommend it to any other people

Beautiful Hotel friendly staff great choice of food.

Visited twice now in the bar. Although there seems to be lots of staff,the tables can be dirty along with the carpet. But saying that, the staff are lovely and the food was delicious. It doesn't put me off but I'm sure an improvement to hardfloor in the future will do wonders.

At a wedding here and I have no complaints very relaxed day the staff had everything under control

Nice hotel but sadly had two bad nights there, woke up at 5.15 in the morning with a lot of shouting thumping and banging, sad.

Hate leaving bad reviews but did try to resolve problems on night of staying there only to be ignored until breakfast the next morning.

Just after staying here for 2 nights with 3 children and it was just exceptional. Arrived and all children recieved colouring packs and ice lollies. Staff are so friendly and would do absoulty anything for us. Rang reception one night for milk to help our child to go to sleep and by the time I put down the phone someone was at the door with a jug of milk. Every day we got complimentary bottles of water in our room and plenty of biscuits and tea. Swimming pool was exceptional and provided arm bands and water toys. Food was so nice a reasonable and once again so accommodating for fussy eaters. Park and garden was a great addition for the children.Thank you for everything

Loved our 2 night stay here. Food excellent and the staff are fantastic.

Very good, nice and clean and well run.. why do restaurants always do oven chips.. peel a potato cut it up an deep fry.. 10 times better..

Lovely food but small portions, actually left hungry.

We called in for Mothers day and whereas the food was nice enough the service was poor. Most places bring a childs main out with everyone elses starters, our daughter was the last one served and when it came to desserts everyone else was finished theirs before she got hers and we had to ask twice before it finally showed up.

Phoned and booked 3 nights just as we entered phase 2 of road map. I was so delighted to be getting away. Staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Hard workers. Gym and pool are fab and even had a relaxing destressing Indian head massage at the Spa, thrilled it was open. Hair dressers too. Breakfast and lunch and dinner along with a couple of drinks was the perfect stress relief for working through this awful pandemic. Cavan has so many walks, lake walks and a really friendly county to visit. Thanks Cavan Crystal for a nice break away and ill be back soon.

Everything you would want in leisure and comfort is provided in abundance and then some. Great food, friendly welcoming staff and lovely room at a great price.

Simple things, done well. Nice touch for the GM to surf the breakfast tables.

An absolutely beautiful place. It felt like we were in an American Christmas film!! The staff were lovely. It was spotless clean and the rooms were lovely and very comfortable. I'd most definitely go back. .

Grand place for kids good play area ,the kids needed to burn off some energy after the car journey down

My husband and I stayed in cavan crystal last Saturday 19th January I have to say the manager Michael was a perfect gentle man we had a little problem and he was there for us on the spot and all the staff were so nice very comfortable hotel and food perfect

Friendly, helpful staff. Great leisure Centre, spacious room. Also we were lucky and got brilliant deal for our stay too. Would definitely return and would recommend to friends or family looking for a short break.

Lovely hotel. Interesting and reasonably priced gift shop. Nice pool. Limited choice of bar food but tasty. Nice breakfast. Pleasant reception on arrival.

Contemporary decor delicious food pleasant and helpful staff plenty of parking spaces.

Nice staff and had club sandwich & coffee. Very nice. Were able to chat in comfort. Parking lot was busy but found a space no problem. Only had lunch so was happy with experience

Exceptional hotel either for a couple of nights or just pop in for food. Luxury interior lots and lots of parking. Would be ideal for a wedding or business event. I would highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely rooms. Breakfast not too bad, though porridge could have been better. Dinner in restaurant was reasonable, but not outstanding in any way. Roast chicken, at best, was unexciting and a bit pink in the middle. Sweet potato fries lovely!
Also, very noisy at night, though I think there was a wedding. We had people running up and down at 0100 then a fire alarm.

We got our drinks taken off our table even though we were quite legal teenagers not carrying our id at the time!!

Loved this hotel the minute you walk in your sucked in by the fabulous smell at reception, very nice staff, the manager makes such an effort greeting guests at breakfast, fab unusual breakfast not just your usual Irish breakfast but also some lovely yummy options which is great, loved our dinner, staff seem to be happy working there which is a reflection to the management hope you continue to look after your staff as it makes the hotel a more comfortable stay, defo will return here

The friendliest of the staff make you want to go again. The food and service was excellent. The swimming pool fabulous. They have done a brilliant job in this pandomic time. Thank you so much from my daughter and myself. . Love to go again. See you soon. And thank you for a beautiful stay.

Really bland food , quite lacking. We usually go here once a month and we hadn't been in a few months. The standard had really dropped. We ordered the vegetable burger and carbonara and both were disappointing. We might just skip it from now on

Lovely Hotel and well situated on the outskirts of the town on the Dublin Rd. Rooms are spacious and warm and comfortable with tea & coffee making facilities and every thing else you need to make your stay as pleasant as possible.Food and Drink was also good with pleasant efficient staff willing to tend to your needs.

At a wedding here everything from we arrived until we left was first class a lovley hotel

Having eaten here on various occasions, always found the food to be well presented and very tasty. Staff friendly and professional. Decor fresh and modern in the atrium and function room. The bar more traditional with darker interior.

We held the Age Friendly Ireland Recognition and Achievement Awards Ceremony on January 20 2015. All of the staff were brilliant. Chris the Function Manager was particularly excellent. His calm informed demeanor and ability to seamlessly adjust the service to fit with our ever changing needs was invaluable. He and his team should be very proud. Thanks to them and the wonderful facilities we would definitely consider holding another event here in the future.

We went for a family holiday, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing, great overall experience.

Been to a few wedding functions here and have found quite a defference on quality of food and service. Could be in relation to what the Couple are spending but l think that is unfair as food and service should be of an excellent quality no matter what.
Have gone a few times for Coffee and scone. The Cherry scones are wonderful.
This is a modern hotel and definitly appeals to the younger members of the family but l find the foyer with the water and it's openess a bit cold for my liking.
I like to sit in hotel foyers while having a coffee and watch the world go by without myself being noticed. To open in the Crystal

Only there at meeting facilities very good food not bad.

No wheelchair access from car park., the toilets are so low but it seems to be the same in most hotels .no thought for older people .was not impressed with the food , beds were comfortable. Booked a family room and got a double room .

Had a great stay at the crystal Cavan hotel. The reception team were industry leading on reception and the manager stopped to thank us for visiting their hotel. Second to none service!!!

We were going to comment on the paper thin walls between the rooms, as our next door neighbour felt amorous at 12am 2am and 4am. Turns out they were pretty solid and the guests were enjoying some heavyweight adult time. Not even a knock on the wall would put them off their stride. Fair play, did consider a round of applause 3rd time round.

Back to the hotel. Staff amazing, room very clean. Decor a little bit tired due to being a busy hotel. Gym and pool excellent. Nice family time away. Worth every penny

Basic leisure centre, not good selection of evening food.

Unfortunately I was ill whilst there. My grandchildren and daughters enjoyed the experience. Grandchildren loved the swimming pool. Food was ok but expensive. Had stayed previously when one alacarte meal was included. Wonderful

I recently checked intonthis hotel as part of a large group booking . The hotel itself is really good but the staff really let them down ... to grab a 2 year old by the hand for playing with UNOPENED sachets of sugar and to approach our table in a horrid manner telling people to control their children was unacceptable.. as stated above we are a large group booking and I for one definitely won't be back ...
The floor stuff really need a refresher course in customer relations... one female member in particular let the hotel down ..

Myself and my fiance had a lovely stay in the Cavan Crystal Hotel. All of the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious and modern and the bed large and very comfortable. We had a coffee maker in our room which added a bit of extra luxury. I went for a swim in the decent sized pool and it was lovely.
We ate in the restaurant the night we stayed and also had breakfast the following morning. Both meals were really well presented, good portions and tasty! Again the waiters, front of house and management all took time to check in with us during our meals.
They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Thanks for a lovely stay, I have been recommending you as a place to stay in Cavan.
